A Flood of Team Spirit Empty Re: A Flood of Team Spirit

Tue Jun 29, 2021 4:40 pm
Daiko had quickly made a rush for the mission's office. He felt a spark of focus when it came to sitting down and actually finishing a task, and he wanted to find something to be able to line him and Saya's pockets for the time being. Quickly sprinting through the village, he easily avoids the random people all running about around him and he hopes that he is able to make it there quickly. Bursting through the doors, he decides to pick up two random scrolls off of the boards and check the first one out. Opening it, he looks at it for only a moment before deciding that this was definitely the one. If he was going to be doing the mission with the same crew that he always did, this would be perfect for Saya. Sprinting out of the office once more, he tries to see if he can follow the sound of random singing and other merriment to be able to pinpoint where Saya was in the village. Once he was able to locate her, he would excitedly rush up and show her the scroll that he had nabbed from the village. Though his complexion was stagnant as usual, the tone of his voice would give her an idea of his excitement. "Yo. Saya. I found. The PERFECT mission for us. Check this out. Basically what we're going to be doing, is we're going to be commentating on this game. I mean, I know Pinoch will def' be talking about the statistics of players and stuff, but yo. Like. We're gonna be killing it. Let's give them one hell of a show."

So long as she agreed to go, Daiko would once more sprint into the direction of where the game was supposed to be, and watch to make sure she was following him. To his knowledge, it wasn't too far outside of the main area that they had been at, and hopefully, they would make it there sooner than later. Though he wasn't fully aware that it even existed in the first place, once they made it to the stadium it was obvious that there were fans waiting for a game. As they made it, it seemed that an attendant was looking a bit nervous, until Daiko and the group explained what they were doing there, leading to a sigh of relief. It looked like this was exactly what the man was waiting for. Looking over at Saya, Daiko gives a smile for a moment before they began to be led up to the booth in which they were to watch over the game, as well as give a play by plays of what was going on. Daiko, though not really used to this type of mission, was somewhat excited to see the game, though he had no idea what the game even was. Once they made it up, he would take a moment to ask. "So.. Saya... What game is this exactly? I'm not sure I've ever heard of it before...."

A Flood of Team Spirit Empty Re: A Flood of Team Spirit

Tue Jun 29, 2021 10:41 pm
Saya's outfit! for refference, Ai is hermione, Coach is snape, Freyja is mcgonagall, and pinochio is a wrackspurt:

They'd been working harder then they ever had before. Between niko, Kiku, and the intense mission set the pair had finished, Saya had decided Pinochio be damned, she was going to have a fun day. Absolutely nothing in this world could make her go do something responsible. She'd picked the perfect outfit. She wore a pink plaid overcoat that pleated from her belly button to just below her hips with a black skirt that looked to have pain splatters all across it. Underneath, of course was a pair of blue leggins that matched her blue and black socks, but to complete the look she'd somehow found the most gaudy pink glasses anyone could ever wear. When I say these are rediculous let me be clear: the lenses were neon blue and green with a darkened circle of the color in the center and they seemed to have wings or hands coming off each side? It is very dificult to describe the over the top nature of this particular design but let me tell you, it is rediculous. Despite it being an incredibly warm summer day a scarf wrapped around her neck that was mostly a deep navy blue with slight white accents. At the base was a blue crest with a bird in the center and the word "ravenclaw".

While Daiko would fail to hear the normal melodious sounds that confirmed Saya was in the area, she wouldn't be dificult to find. The outfit basically made her glow in a crowd. Beside her as usual were her puppets, with Ai donning a curly brown wig and a dark black prep school uniform accented with a red tie, Coach Dressed in dark black robes with short black hair and far too much white makeup, and her new Freyja puppet in green robes that sat open over a long black dress. Atop her head was an over sized witches hat, and she wore a small pair of glasses. THe real kicker would be pinochio. He looked a bit like something directly out of Daiko's summoning handbook, dressed in a full black body suit with small leathery wings and a sharp pointed beak on his face. Unluckily for team puppet however, Daiko showing up would put an end to her fun.

"Wh. Daiko I wasn't. I mean... Dang it. Alright, lets do it. " She followed Daiko to a large stadium open at the top to let in the sunlight. THen everything became clear. See, our dear protagonist had planned to go to the local puppet quidditch game. Hence the dress, and it just so happened that this was the site where they were to commentate.

"....Daiko you're a genius. This is puppet quidditch. So like all the puppets are on brooms that are made to fly by their pupeteers. It's one puppeteer per team and they have to like. Get the balls through the holes to score points while those guys try to beat the scorers up. That little gold thing in the sky is the snitch. The seeker has to go get that to end the game. "

A Flood of Team Spirit Empty Re: A Flood of Team Spirit

Daiko blinks for a moment after hearing Saya's explanation of what the game was. He still had no clue what she was talking about, whatsoever. Whatever it was, it seemed to have quite a large following, though Daiko, even after hearing it and seeing the game itself, didn't see what the big deal was. Seeing Saya excited about it, though, led to him deciding to keep his mouth shut about his opinion on the matter and just go along with it. After their short exchange, the man would lead them up to the stands, looking over the whole game. There wasn't a lot going on at the very moment, but eventually, the puppeteers were introduced onto the field. They both had different names, and it seemed that this match in particular was going to be pretty intense, as it was one of the ones leading up to the championship match. Daiko had initially thought Saya was the only one crazy enough to deal with how complicated puppets were, but he figured out he was wrong. It seemed that there were many experts here that we're able to easily control their single powerful puppet that was flying around on the broom.

The way that the game went wasn't too complicated, and it seemed like the first was that there were a couple of different puppets all smacking on each other and trying to throw a big ball into a ring of some sort. To be honest, the entire thing was a mystery to Daiko. While there were things being thrown around, there would be two speedy-looking puppets battling it out chasing some weird little golden thing. Once again, it was pretty strange. As the game played out, Daiko only really knew how to add things to whatever Saya was saying. The outcome of the game was a mystery to him, though one of the teams had scored a fair amount of points before the opposing team had been hunting for the small flying gold puppet. Daiko didn't know exactly why Kirigakure would've dedicated money from the village coffers for such a confusing and niche sport, but who was he to judge. Either way, the outcome of the game would eventually be decided, and Daiko would look over at Saya to see how she'd be responding to it all.

After the outcome was decided and the people started to leave the stands, they received their payment. Just as this happened, a torrential downpour seemed to appear out of nowhere, drenching the stands and looking like it was going to be a flash flood. Considering the arena they were in essentially acted like a bowl, Daiko looked over at Saya before the group would hopefully rush out of the building and continue. Covering himself from the rain, Daiko chuckled. "Saya! It looks like the next mission is us having to save some people from potential floods?" Daiko thought it was really odd how it just so happened to start raining as soon as the mission was taken, but he decided not to question it.

A Flood of Team Spirit Empty Re: A Flood of Team Spirit

Wed Jul 21, 2021 8:17 pm
It was time to do this. Saya rushed fowards, hopping down several rows of seats to get to the commentators box. She absolutely needed to do none of this. THere was a set of stairs that would have led her strait to the bottom floor of the arena where the blockade for the commentators was, but also this is Saya we're talking about. Do you honestly think that she would do things the regular boring way? An interesting effect came from her approach. Far below, where the two pupeteers were warming up, there was a rustling the moment the small girl came into view. All of the puppets that had been zipping to and fro in the sky seemed to shift towards the other side of the arena as she approached. by the time she'd hopped over the velvet rope that led to the voice equipment they were using to allow the fans to hear their words, the two pupeteers had nearly made it to the door to the locker rooms.

"Wait wait wait!!!!! Contestants come back! It is I, everyone's favorite competitor here today not to show these two how to destroy at puppet quidditch, but instead to commentate! you're both safe. you can come back." They seemed hesitant right up to the point where she said she was a commentator. Then, finally, they began to return to the field. The game was nearing its begining, and with Saya on the mic the crowd began to roar. The game was complex, with several different kinds of players, all of which were geared differently, one group holding large bats, and two tiny little puppets that zipped about much faster than the others. In getting the crowd ready, Saya explained these were called seekers. Then she took a small gold puppet with wings from the director and tossed it up into the air.

"On the left, we have the Kiri eccentrics and on the right, the emo dollar store brand sasukes! teams get read. go!!!" The team on the right scoffed at the suggestion. That was obviously not their names, but who were they to tell the reigning champion that she'd messed up? The battle seemed intense. The eccentrics shited about the field, a group in the back trying desperately to keep up with the more nimble sasukes as they threw ball after ball into the hoops on the end. One of the larger puppets moved to try and intercept a goal, but found his head knocked clean off by a large medicine ball. Things weren't looking good as Saya gave the play by play, shouting words that would only be understood by the fans for almost an hour.

Finally, With a score of ninety eight to zero, saya stepped back to whisper to diako. "Watch this. The eccentrics are about to win." The runners for the sasukes carried another small footbal up the field, dodging the attacks from the eccentric beaters. Pulling back, the leader tossed what he hoped would be the final ball, but just before it hit the edge of the hoop a whistle rang. Floating downward, The seeker for the eccentrics presented the small gold puppet. They'd won.

"That was so fun!!!!! " She glanced out at the pouring rain. This felt familiar somehow. Like she had a legacy with this type of thing. They would need to act fast.

A Flood of Team Spirit Empty Re: A Flood of Team Spirit

As it started raining, Daiko sighed. This was just what they needed. They had just finished doing what they needed to do, and then it seemed that every spectator inside of the entire place all had the same idea. Run in panic. Daiko wasn't quite sure how he was going to get out of here, considering the panic, but he knew that it was something that he had to do, and fast. Looking over at Saya, Daiko nods at her, and then he waits for her to respond to anything he says before continuing. "Right. So. This rain is kind of a mess right now. What I think we should do, is we should try to get out of this damned stadium first, maybe by walking down the walls, or something cool and ninja-y like that. And then, I think we should head into the districts that have more huts and things like that in order to make sure there aren't houses getting swept away." Daiko looks at the big part of Kirigakure in which they were in currently and assumed that it would probably be fine. His biggest worry would be the different types of houses that were smaller and more like huts, that would easily get swept away.

This wasn't exactly like a tsunami, but Daiko still recalls times of him seeing water wash things away. Some sort of big wave... Killed two people at once. It was strange. He wasn't quite sure where that vision came from, though he was sure that these people of Kiri didn't do anything wrong, and deserved to be saved from their houses and homes being ripped from them so quickly. Thinking about the earth jutsu that he had, Daiko came up with an idea to be able to help. Hopping out of the commentator's box, Daiko quickly runs across the walls to be able to get out of the stadium and back down to the ground floor where the exits were. That was actually a huge pain in the ass, to be honest, and Daiko wondered if there was any way that he might be able to move without having to run around. Maybe teleport or something? Nah, that would be ridiculous.

After they had made it to the ground floor, Daiko would look around and make sure that Saya is near him. After that, they would exit and he would tell her his plan. "Okay, so let's head over to the district with the smaller houses and stuff, at the edge of the island. I'm pretty sure that they're going to be getting the brunt of all this water and such, and I think that we should help them. Though everyone around here is panicking and going mad, I think that they'll be fine. The walls around the village are pretty helpful, but the beach I think would be the most dangerous place for this flood to start."

Daiko nodded his head, pleased with the plan that he came up with.

A Flood of Team Spirit Empty Re: A Flood of Team Spirit

Sat Jul 24, 2021 8:26 pm
She shifted quickly beneath the overhang that was supposed to protect the shout casting equipment from any inclimate weather. it was not doing a very good job. Thankfully from her position almost completely against the back wall, she was safe from the torential downpour that was quickly trying it's best to flood the stadium. Why was this so familiar?! She was so focused on keeping herself dry that she missed the first half of her teammate's statement completely. This is fine. She could just fill in what she assumed he'd said with context clues. Ok. So something about the walls. The walls were falling? Heck. That was alot of rain then. How could the rain hit so hard that it was toppling the walls?! This was not exactly an unsturdy arena. There was like. Concrete and stuff. Yep. Ok. So she'd missed the second half of the statement now. Great job saya. Our dear protagonist dedoubled her focus at the realization. Clearly they needed to like. Get the people to safety and make sure no one drown and stuff. He probably said that.

"RIght. I'm on it! We should probably get out of this amphitheater first though. Maybe we could like. Climb the walls?" That's when it hit her. Her puppets, who were not idiots, had caught the whole statement and were in the process of finding the proper opening to catch her up on what her mind simply glossed over when she just.... Copied exactly what daiko had said. Closing her eyes for a moment she'd rush up the stairs. She hated being in the rain. Like she felt far more powerful when surrounded by suiton, but there was something about having fully wet clothes while not being fully submerged within the water that was just... What's the word? Icky.

About ten meters up the stairs she'd activate her hand sealless jutsu. Ten meters up towards the edge of the arena a single foo dog statue pushed through the concrete. With a leap she'd grasp the edge of the statue, and at a much higher speed it would carry her over the edge of the stadium. This was the part she hated. She needed a way down and she didn't exactly have a good answer to that. There was really only one thing to do. With puppets in tow she just leapt. pushing off of the foo dog, she positioned her body, and her palms caught the edge of the railing at the back of the arena. Like springs, her arms maneuvered her body up and over the edge, her legs slipping in front of her as she cat passed off the edge.

She'd studied this trick. She'd hit pre's on half the surfaces in the village, but this was high. She couldn't stick the landing. As she fell at intense speed, she tucked her head and began to roll. The moment her feet touched down, she was thrust forward. It took her several rolls to get back to her feet, but she cross the distance quickly to where Daiko had suggest.

A Flood of Team Spirit Empty Re: A Flood of Team Spirit

Sun Jul 25, 2021 12:30 am
Daiko continued to run, seeing Saya roll around like a bowling ball, with her puppets flinging around her like pins. It was quite the scene. Either way, they were on the ground, and not too far off from where they were supposed to be. The huts that Daiko had in mind were less than a couple of KM away, and they could probably make it there somewhat fast... If Daiko wasn't so slow. Once again he questioned what the point would be of walking, but it was no matter. He sprinted towards where he knew the hutches were, and in time they eventually made it. Upon arrival, the scene was exactly as you would expect. There was rain pouring down and obviously damaging the integrity of the buildings, and it was not cute. Definitely not. Daiko noticed that there was a teddy bear floating down the river, like in a movie. Wait, no there wasn't, he was just hallucinating. That would've definitely been a cool plotline to go down with, however, Daiko wasn't into tropes such as that. No, Daiko wanted to save the people who deserved to be saved, who just so happened to not all be children or women.

Daiko noticed something familiar about these huts. Looking over at Saya, he blinks. "Yo... Wait. We've been here before..." A wave of water rushed out of one of the houses, remind Daiko of a time Saya did the same thing to some bandits. It had looked like this small village was the place where they had ended up apprehending all of the criminals that had caused them the issues in the first place. It was kind of crazy, to see that it was actually bustling with life outside of being a hideout for criminals. "I swear. This was that place when we first ran into all those criminals, remember? And that led to that one person who..." Daiko decided to shut up before he said something stupid, and decided instead that it was time for them to get to work.

Running toward the village, he wasn't entirely sure what it was that he should be doing. He did his best to make sure that the houses were staying where they should be, and not getting flooded and ruining all of the positions inside. He didn't have enough jutsu to be able to really help at this very moment, much less being able to take on a hunter. Daiko didn't get the reference.

Daiko noticed that there was a handful of people that seemed to have stumbled into some quicksand or a mudhole. It was really interesting at first and gave Daiko an idea for a jutsu. Some sort of swamp. The way it looked, these people were about to be dragged into the underworld themselves. Brushing the thought off, for now, Daiko did his best to start grabbing people's hands, making sure that they didn't sink and deeper. For a moment, Daiko would turn his head to look towards Saya and see what she was up to.

A Flood of Team Spirit Empty Re: A Flood of Team Spirit

Sun Jul 25, 2021 12:46 am
They crossed the distance towards their destination quickly, and deja vu hit Saya about the same time it hit daiko. It was almost like they'd been here before? Saya racked her brain trying to remember when she'd seen a setup of huts similar to the ones they were currently in front of, but as she was thinking a small child was floating towards her.

"Uh. Saya... You should probably..." Ai yelled out, trying her best to be heard in the rain. The small puppet master's eyes watched the child float down the street, her head turning in time with the kid's movement, and then registered what her sister had said. Instead of reaching out with an arm and grabbing the kid's clothes to pull him to safety, she stretched one of her tiny legs as far as it would go, and just barelly hooked her foot in the child's arm, holding him from moving farther down stream, but not really getting him to safety either. To her left, she noticed a set of boxes bouncing up and down boyantly in the flowing water that easily came up to her hips. Thinking quickly she reached out with her left arm, catching the edge of the farthest box and using her body to stop the movement.

This would lead to an incredibly rediculous scene. With the way the girl was reaching to hold two separate situations at bay, her face dipped down to almost be in the water. As she bounced back and forth in the waves little bits of the flooding slipped into her mouth causing her to cough and spit. It wasn't stopping her from breathing at all, it was just kinda yucky. She felt her grip on the box on the edge start to slip, and watched the container simply spin out from her reach. It bobbed twice in the water before overturning. For plot convenient reasons the top of the box was removed, or didn't exist, we'll fix that in post, and the contents spilled out into the water. Now listeners. I know this is seeming like it's a meme but theres a very good reason why i'm going to take the time to explain to you that this box was full of none other than cacti. Really it was a wide array of succulents of various shapes with vibrant greens and some reds and purple. They were beautiful plants. it was a shame when they disappeared down the stream.

With a huff Saya realized she needed to do something different. Brilliant blue streams poured from her fingertips, traveling down her leg and wrapping the child up. THen the kid simply stood up, showing that due to something in the water(the drinking water not the flood water) he'd had a growth spurt this summer and could just walk in the flooding. In two hops he'd made it safely to a rooftop. THen she noticed a man crouching in what seemed to be a bathtub floating towards her open side. Without thinking she reached out, hooking toe tips under the focett and spinning with the force of trying to hold both in the tide again. Back to square one.

A Flood of Team Spirit Empty Re: A Flood of Team Spirit

Mon Jul 26, 2021 8:23 pm
Daiko nodded his head, looking over to see that Saya was over helping some other people. This would be no issue. He ran around, and reached his hand down into the sinkhole in order to try and save the people that were trapped down in there. He went through and pulled them out, hardly being able to do it because of his strength. Running to and fro, he decides that it might be easier to do some sort of jutsu. Not entirely sure what it was that he would be able to do in these coming moments, Daiko decided that it would be best to try his hand at burrowing. Doing the necessary hand-seals, Daiko feels the muddy earth around him giving way for him to be able to swim through. He moved through at a decent speed, though not as fast as he could've possible went. He burrowed around, pulling people out of mud puddles and other things that were trapping them in place. Looking over towards Saya again, it looked to him that for some reason there were a box of cacti spilling everywhere. Unsure of the reason why he felt the temptation to munch on them and possible crunch on them as well. Now was not the time for these thoughts.

Continuing on his mission, he digs some of the people out of the ground, and brings them to the surface. As he does this it seems that the rain begins to stop, just as suddenly as it had started. This was definitely weird. Though it wasn't the worst thing in the world, he still wondered why he was given a mission that suddenly started the rain. Daiko looked over at Saya and nodded to her, and he decided that they should go off to turn the mission in. It wasn't too big of a deal, and it actually went over pretty easily. Daiko stretched out and continued on his way, wondering what it was that he would do next. He wasn't entirely sure to be honest. Walking down the streets of Kirigakure, he thinks about possibly meeting up with Saya for a moment to see what she is up to, and honestly they needed time to talk after some of the missions they've been doing recently. Daiko was being pretty distant, though he wasn't entirely sure if Saya planned on reaching out about it, or if he would end up talking to Ai or Pinoch. Either way, he was happy to do anything that might come his way, and he was excited to find out what the reasoning was for everything happening so suddenly the other day. Daiko still didn't complelty understand why he was so drawn to the hearts of his enemies, though he figured that sooner than later he would find out. Stretching out, Daiko looks around. He had been just mindlessly walking towards the mission center, and he decided that he would get his payment and be on his way. He really needed to get some rest.
