Assassin Meets Smuggler

(Don't) Shoot the Messenger (forumotion.com)
The Assassin was lightly humming to himself as he casually strolled down the empty road of Wind Country, it was the dead of night and visibility was rather low due to clouds obscuring the moon, but really, for someone with the Byakugan it was hardly an issue. If there was one thing he could thank his clan, and his family for, it was his eyes… but that was all, he would still sooner pluck his own eyes out and crush them before returning to that damned clan compound. He found himself wishing that more within Rice Country had been willing to hire him to take out Hyuuga, because he wasn’t about to waste his own time by killing them out of some misguided sense of vengeance… his time was money, and he never did a job for free, no matter how much he may have enjoyed choking the life out of his father or grandfather.
Shin would quickly notice a rather… a suspicious looking character making his way down the road towards him, the man outright looking nervous and walking in a manner that was far too quickly for someone who wasn’t doing something he shouldn’t be. He was obviously just a regular, and untrained, person, and with his Byakugan he could see the large package that the man had strapped around his waist and stuck to his back… heh, a drug smuggler of some kind, and a bad one at that. God, anyone could see that this idiot was doing something that he shouldn’t be from his demeanour alone… and wait, were his eyes bloodshot? Was this idiot actually trying to smuggle product while strung out?? Good god what kind of amateur hour bullshit was this dude pulling? As he got closer he continued to internally chuckle at the sheer idiocy of this man, and how badly he was doing at this little endeavour of his
As he got within 10m of the man he was finally noticed, and the dumbass simply froze in place, causing Shin to release a mixture of a sigh and a chuckle as he too stopped.
“You have got to be the single worst smuggler I have ever seen. I mean seriously man, you’re strung out and jumping at your own shadow, anyone can tell you’re doing something illegal.” The deep voice of The Assassin would say, causing the mans eyes to widen further and resulting in him starting to hyperventilate.
“H-H-Here, just shut the fuck up and d-don’t tell anyone you saw me!” The short and somewhat rotund man would practically squeak out, quite literally throwing a bundle of ryo at him and running slowly away, although in reality he was sure the man was running as fast as his squat little legs could carry him.
Shin would simply stare at the bundle of ryo that was thrown at him and chuckle… well, that was his easiest payday yet, he hadn’t even been intending on trying to blackmail the fool. He would continue down the road with a skip to his step, happy that he had made such an easy payout. Hoori would probably end up laughing himself silly when Shin told him of this encounter, and in reality, Shin knew that he would be doing the same thing later. Right now he was simply tired, and wanted to get to his destination before the sun rose. The last thing that he wanted was to be stuck on a road in the middle of Wind Country during the day. Regardless of how much water one had taken, deserts were always a very poor location for one to be stranded… a sandstorm alone could spell certain doom for most.
