"...Dear lord, is it really this humid here? I'm gonna fucking dieeeee..." A resounding yawn of lethargy would ring throughout the borders of the Island Country. From the entrance of the borders housed ships, cruises, and even boats owned by the affluent within the Island Country were docked among the shores. The amount of sea traveling equipment was uniform, lining themselves up all across the sea banks of the archipelagos of the Island Country. Since all ships and sea equipment were parked against the entrance of the borders, those who were within the ships flowed out and slowly walked towards their destinations. The people in question were Kirigakure shinobi who arrived from long-distance missions, civilians from Kirigakure or lesser-known towns from the Island Country that simply finished vacationing in distant countries, and even people who simply wanted to visit the country for their own pleasure.
Rakuzan Hyuuga was the latter.
After executing his mentor, the same person who killed his family and abducted the Hyuuga to turn him into a tool for his own benefit, Rakuzan was finally free. Spurred by euphoria and finally being able to depart the barren taiga that was the Iron Country, the Hyuuga Samurai decided to make it his goal to travel around the world and make as much money as possible. He heard anecdotes of the villages Kirigakure and Sunagakure especially being great areas to start making money, as well as being some of the most accepting villages towards Missing Ninja. Rakuzan didn't classify himself as a shinobi, nor did he want to start calling himself a shinobi - he had a sense of honor after all, but to most gate guards, a roaming person with the ability to utilize chakra was a Missing Ninja. As much as Rakuzan enjoyed and actively searched for duels, he wasn't an idiot. He didn't want to wage war against villages with the strength of a thousand shinobi just because he didn't heed their laws about them not accepting Missing Ninja. He was a bloodthirsty samurai, but he was also exceptional at reading situations. Therefore, the best solution in order to make a lot of money was to travel to a country with loose laws about Missing Ninja, and perform odd jobs among the borders where plenty of civilians would be there so he could accept their contracts. It wasn't the most efficient way to make money, but hey...you had to start somewhere. Hopefully...a contract would arrive where the Samurai could fight someone to the death...
But, his bloodthirsty demeanor was the least of his concerns, what was more important was the FLAMING HOT WEATHER. "This is the Island Country...not the Hell Country...Why is it so hot???" The Hyuuga would mutter under his breath, sweat drenching his clothing with his round glasses fogging up. The ships - due to being indoor, protected all passengers from the intense heat of the island's sun; even though it was essentially nighttime, the radiating heat lingered...creating a misty aftereffect that threatened to give the Hyuuga Samurai a major headache. He was used to the snowy tundras and taigas that the Iron Country held, so being in an area where heat was a given was extremely uncomfortable. Well, it is what it is, he had some work to do before renting a place to stay.
As Rakuzan exited the ship, mounds of people flowed from the docked ships with only the lanterns and lights of the docks allowing people to navigate their way through the darkness. It didn't bother the Hyuuga that much, he had his eyes that would allow him to see anything within one hundred meters of himself and he was also a samurai...with no sword because a bastard stole it from him while he was sleeping in the ships but he would find it...one way or another. As he walked innocuously, camouflaging himself with people...someone would tap him on the shoulder. Turning around, he would see an elderly woman with a cane, holding out a handsome some of ryo towards the young man. "Hm? Did you need something, ma'am?" Rakuzan asked respectfully; it was one of the 8 Virtues of Bushido to always act respectfully towards people, especially elders. "Please young man, will you be able to escort me to the nearby town? I will make sure that you are rewarded generously for your efforts - up front too! It is far too dark here..." The woman requested of Rakuzan, extending the stack of ryo towards him. The Hyuuga would simply angle his glasses, accepting the money quickly before a smile escaped him, "It is my pleasure, ma'am. I may not look like it, but I am capable of warding off anyone that would try to attack or rob you." Rakuzan said convincingly with a sincere grin. An old woman would be protected, and he would also get money out of it. It was a win-win situation.
And with that, they departed.
It was getting darker, so unbeknownst to the woman, Rakuzan would utilize his latent bloodline for this exact moment...the Byakugan, allowing him to see anything from the cellular level within one hundred meters of him. His sight was magnified, allowing him to see the slightest of movements for anyone foolish enough to rob the woman he was currently escorting. Thankfully, no one had a death wish today...however, Rakuzan felt a prevailing sense of annoyance, as if some bug was constantly following him. Nevertheless, before he could identify it, they arrived at the nearest town: Minato - meaning harbor. "It seems like this is the end of the road. Pleasure doing business with you, ma'am. Stay out of trouble~" The samurai said before waving goodbye towards the woman once she fully entered Minato. He got money out of his efforts...so he just needed to find a place to stay. Perhaps he should settle in Minato, it was easier...however, he needed to deal with someone first.
"If you don't stop hiding, I will kill you."
"Shit!" A voice echoed throughout the domain, as a strange man stumbled out of a bush. He was sweating bullets, his body was pale, and his legs were shaking like a broken chair. He was also holding a strange package behind his back. It was evident that he was hiding something. "So you're the one's who's been following me while I was escorting this woman," Rakuzan stated with a shit-eating smirk before deactivating his Byakugan, seeing as there was no need to waste his energy on such a pathetic looking man. "Back from where I'm from, following someone is an invitation for a duel. I don't know who you are, but I'm not beyond chopping a few legs off and leaving you out to bleed. So tell me, why are you following me? Did someone order for "The Envoy" to be assassinated today?" Rakuzan asked, the nasty aura of The Envoy suddenly enveloping the aura, it was suffocating and repulsive, nearly making the poor man want to puke.
"N-n-no! Nothing like that! I don't want any fights, I just...here!" The man exclaimed, fumbling through his pockets before throwing a great amount of ryo on the ground. "T-take this! Don't tell anyone that I was here nor that if anyone here was holding a package. I. Do. Not. Exist. To. You." The man begged Rakuzan, nearly wanting to collapse from sheer dread.
Well, this was clearly an interesting turn of events. Rakuzan initially thought that he was going to be assassinated by this strange man, but...it seems that the man was trying to do something shady. The charcoal-haired samurai felt somewhat apologetic for assuming the man was trying to kill him. "...Ah. My mistake." Rakuzan would say sheepishly, grabbing the ryo off the ground before rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment. "Sorry about that man, I completely thought you were trying to attack me or something. Yeah, I'll keep quiet. "Honor Among Thieves" or something like that, right?" The Hyuuga compromised and spoke apologetically before turning his back on the shaky man, heading towards Minato. "Don't get killed out there." "Y-yeah...thanks."
Deciding to stay at a nearby town in the Island Country Borders for the meantime, Rakuzan would smirk, seeing all of the Ryo he amassed by just doing odd jobs.
"This is just my lucky day..."
