Halloween Event Missions

Mission Details:

Ise had been given on his own, and he was actually excited, despite it being a small one. Apparently, there have been rumors going around Hoshigakure lately … about a mysterious cloaked figure. At the time, Ise was putting on a brave face, but it was clear that he was kind of freaked out about it. Once more was that he was the only one on this mission. He had no partners, so the young Uchiha couldn’t help but be freaked out a bit at the fact that he was going to be searching around the village, looking for answers. However, he wasn’t gonna turn down any mission, even if it probably would scare the pants off of him. “After all, they are just rumors … for all we know, this mysterious figure could’ve just been a clergyman in one of his robes.” Ise thought to himself, trying to be somewhat optimistic. If that was the case, then he could quickly report it in and be done with it.

Ise had his arms tucked around his neck as he walked into the village. He figured that since the so-called ‘figure’ was seen normally at night, that there would be a possibility that he’d be able to catch the guy somewhere while he roamed around the village. The first place that he decided to look was the City Square, where most of the adults were out, more than likely drinking. As Ise kept looking around for a bit, trying to look for this mysterious figure, all he was seeing were villagers. There was no one looking suspicious; especially a cloaked figure. “At this rate, I won’t be able to find this cloaked figure at all. Maybe this was just a bust, after all,” Ise said with a sigh, debating on whether he should just call it quits. It was then that an old man who had overheard the young Uchiha spoke up.

“Sorry to bother young man, but were you talking about the mysterious cloaked figure?” He said with a gentle smile on his face, wobbling near Ise, using his walking stick to hold himself up properly as he walked. “Yeah, have you seen him!?” Ise had asked, hoping that he had found a lead. “No, however, I’ve heard that he has been seen quite frequently at the Water Garden’s training grounds. Ya know, the place where shinobi like yourself go and train,” the old man said, while continuing to wear his gentle smile as he spoke. “The training ground in the Water Gardens, huh?” Ise said, placing a hand to his chin, trying to think why a mysterious cloaked figure would be roaming around an area where shinobi would go to train. For one, this mysterious figure, whoever they were, were not a member of the village. Secondly, none of the rumors said that this mysterious figure was a shinobi, let alone interested in him. Even though, Ise now knew where to exactly look for the unknown figure, there was now even more unanswered questions than when he had started the mission.

“Thank you, I’ll head straight there!” Ise said to the old man, quickly speeding away towards the training grounds. As he made his way to the training grounds, it was close to midnight. What’s more was that the training grounds looked ominous when he had arrived. Normally there wasn’t fog or anything of that sort, but there was now. “The quicker I get out of here, the better, he thought to himself. The fog was so thick that he couldn’t see very well. When he arrived at the center of the training grounds, he had accidentally tripped over something. “Damn, that hurt. What was in the-” Ise groaned in pain, however, when he looked over to see what it was that made him trip, he abruptly cut him short. The reason being was because the thing that made him trip, wasn’t a ‘thing’ at all. It was a body. A dead body. There was blood coming from his chest, and from the looks of it, it looked like it happened a while ago - maybe an hour or so. Ise also noticed that the blood was used for some sort of marking that was placed on the body’s forehead.

Further inspection of the body revealed that it wasn’t a shinobi, but a villager more than likely. “This … this is messed up … who would do something like this!?” Ise couldn’t help but voice the question aloud. “I have to report this immediately!” Ise thought to himself. From what he could tell, this looked like some sacrificial ritual of some sort. Whatever it was, the more important thing was to let the higher-ups know that there was a dead body of a villager in the training grounds.

Mission Details:

Isemori was sitting in the kitchen of his house, carving pumpkins with his mom. Ise liked Halloween. In fact, it was one of his favorite times out of the entire year. His older brother on the other hand thought that since Ise was a shinobi that he should forget about such childish notions. However, Ise was still a kid himself. He was fifteen years old, and yes, he was getting older, but he couldn’t help but enjoy the spirit of Halloween still. In fact, unlike his older brother, he was wearing a costume. He decided to be a pirate with an eye patch covering his left eye. He also had a fake plastic sword that was strapped to his waist as well. As Ise and his mother had continued carving pumpkins, she occasionally glanced towards the clock that was sitting to her right on the wall near the calendar. “Why do you keep looking at the clock?” Ise had asked, noticing it as he horribly continued carving his pumpkin.

“Well, ya see,” His mother was trying to explain, however, before she could get anything out, there was a knock on the front door. “Well, since they’re here, you’ll now find out for yourself!” She said, quickly getting up; heading for the front door. Ise followed her, curious to see who was at their front door. But when his mother quickly swung it open, Ise kind of wished that he didn’t let his own curiosity get the better of him. The two young boys standing in front of them who knocked on the front door were named Kota and Akio. Just by looking at them, anyone would be able to tell that they were twin brothers. However, that’s not the reason why Ise didn’t like them. Truth be told, Kota and Akio weren’t bad people, however, whenever Ise was around them, something bad would always happen whenever he was around them. It was like someone put a curse on him and would miraculously activate whenever he was around them.

“Hello, Ise! I see you’re ready to go trick or treating with us!” Kota said, which prompted his brother Akio to chime in with, “Trick or treat, smell my feet, gimme something good to eat!” Ise could feel his soul cringing, or maybe it was his eyes twitching. Honestly, he couldn’t tell the difference in this exact situation. His flight response was telling himself to slam the door in their faces, and lock it behind him, as if his mother had just opened the door for a serial killer. But all Ise could do was say, “Y-yeah! …. Sure,” he said, trying to sound convincing in front of his mother as well as what was considered to be the most bothersome twins in the entire universe. That was when his mother had quickly given Ise his bag for him to get his candy, practically shoving him out door while saying, “Have fuuun!” Ise immediately turned, but just as he did, the front door smacked him in the face as it shut. What was even more bothersome was that he could have swore his mother locking it behind her. With a twitch of annoyance playing at his eyebrows, with a hint of frustration, he heard Kota and Akio call for him as they were already heading towards the first house.

Ise sighed, turning around, eventually catching up to Kota and Akio. The first house that they went to was the old lady’s house next door. Kota and Akio had gotten some really nice candy bars, which made Ise grin, wanting one. However, when it was his turn, the old spoke. “I have something special for you, Isemori,” She said, grabbing what seemed to be a bowl underneath her chair. Ise thought it would have been better than the candy bars Kota and Akio got, but when he saw the old woman put an apple in his bag, his eyes had begun to twitch once again. “Your mother explained to me that you don’t eat vegetables, so I decided to give you some fruit instead. Since you're a shinobi, you’re gonna have to start eating healthier foods,” The old lady explained as to why he gave him an apple, seemingly not paying attention to his annoyed expression, despite the young Uchiha being right in front of her. “Can I just go back home?” Ise thought to himself, still wearing his annoyed expression. This was not the kind of trick or treating that the young Uchiha had in mind, and with him being with Kota and Akio, it wasn’t going to get any better for him.
