Requesting a Presence...For Presents!

Guren patiently waited for Ibari and Seb to show up to his office within the Spire. He had letters delivered to each of their places of residence, early in the morning. The letters detailed Guren and Sunagakure's immense pleasure with both shinobi's contributions, and it contained instructions to arrive to the tenth floor of the spire. Additionally each letter would state that there would be another joining them, so they should wait just outside the room before being met by either Ibari or Seb.

Mizuki was still gone on business in the Land of Tea, so although Guren wanted to wait for her approval of his plans, he would exercise his authority as Deputy Kage to present both men with commendations for their efforts. While he waited for the two, Guren sat upon the surface of his desk with his back facing the wide open entrance to his office. His gaze was directed towards the window in his office, allowing him to watch the events occurring in the village. For the time being, everything was calm. And that was just fine. Villagers were happy, the shinobi force had work, and the village was protected. Times like these were appreciated. Yet in the back of Guren's mind, all he thought of were plans on how to get the younglings of the village prepared for when peace was no more. And depending on the outcome of the summit, this could be sooner than anticipated. Guren's anxiety began to creep up on him as he thought more on the summit, and how it had been a few days since Mizuki's departure. Yet before he could start to worry, he heard the sounds of footsteps approaching the room. He'd beckon his hand downward, gripping a cup of tea that sat adjacent to him, and raised it to his lips. He took a deep, yet quiet sip, and allowed the warmness of the team to calm his body, spirit, and mind. 

Upon entry, Ibari and Seb would see two chairs set up across from Guren's desk. And atop of the desk were a number of scrolls, tightly closed and secured upon its surface. And when they would arrive, Guren would stand from the desk and turn around to greet the both of them. "Hey guys, I'm glad you could both make it. Please, help yourself to tea and a seat. How have you each been?"

Ibari had been outside of the village for some time among the sands, studying and perfecting his craft with the Iron Sand technique during this lull. Mizuki had left the village for some meeting, and Kenshin was still in his lab so the male didn't have much to do but lurk. It was at this moment during his solitude that one of the other ANBu operatives would appear before his fire saying that he was needed in the village. A small sigh escaped his sand battered and brown skin as he stood up and dusted his cloak off," Very well. Thank you," he would say plainly as the iron sand began to form around him as he walked out of the cave and shortly became wings. On these wings of black he would fly toward the village coming to a stop in front of the Kage building and walking in. A small yawn escaped his lips as he walked past the receptionist with a wave and headed up to the office of one Guren. He didn't know the man on a personal level, but he knew of him none the less- perks of being an ANBU. Walking into the room after opening the door, the hybrid would look around and scratch his head as he took one of the seats and turned it. Sitting informally he would grab for the kettle and cup, pouring him a full cup before speaking," And to what does this warrant a grand summon? Mizu back yet?," he'd ask plainly. Being in the sands for as long as he was did nothing for his interpersonal skills but at least he was being friendly.

Opening the letter he received Sebastian was his grumpy self. "He knows how much I hate reading" he mumbled to himself while going over the message sent by Guren. Doing so the young Berserker would find out his presence was required in the Spire, from what he could decipher it appeared he was going to be commended for his contributions to the village, something the Tau did not see coming or expected in the slightest. "Well I'll be damned". Surprised considering the man always tried his best not to stand out too much, something that wasn't exactly easy considering his appearance, Seb would put on one of his favorite hoodies before heading out.

It still being early in the morning explained why there weren't that many people walking around the village just yet, Sebastian only encountering a handful of villagers as he made his way to the Spire. The former mercenary continued to wonder what the meeting would be all about, surely there was more to it than just a simple thank you for your service, however, he realized the true reason would soon reveal itself the moment they all met. Arriving at the location described in the letter sent to him the young Berserker entered the building, informing the secretary before making his way to the tenth floor where Guren's office was.

As he set foot in the room Seb noticed another person being present, said individual having taken a seat next to the chair where the Tau would take place. "Hm", looking at the tea he would pass, not the biggest fan of hot beverages. "So what's going on? Is this about our previous mission?". Sebastian would inquire, referring to the infiltration both men successfully completed.

Seb and Ibari would make their way to Guren's office, arriving at nearly the same time. Both asking questions which sought the same answer. Guren would sip from his cup and return to his chair behind the desk. "To my knowledge, Mizuki is not back yet. Although I hope her time in the Land of Tea will yield fruitful results..." Guren began before clearing his throat and abruptly changing the subject. "But that is not what I wanted to discuss today. Both of you have served Sunagakure for quite some time now, each with your own list of accomplishments and accolades. I believe in rewarding those who work hard, display loyalty, and are accountability. And each of you have been nothing but shining examples of what a Sunagakure Shinobi should be. Despite all your..." Guren would pause as his eyes focused their attention on Seb, "...quirks."

With that Guren would extend his reach forward, pushing both sets of scrolls to each respective shinobi. "These are village exclusive techniques, that are only bestowed upon the most trusted village shinobi. Both of you fit that standard. To you, Ibari, Limitation Removal. It is a technique that will magnify your power exponentially, in the cost of some of your life force. It was created by The First Kazekage. And it is a jutsu that I studied and learned as well. If you have any difficulties learning or understanding it, do not hesitate to ask for help. And for you, Seb, a scroll containing a series of sand manipulation abilities. Specifically, those belonging to the iron sand path. Although I would give you each copies of these scrolls, it would be better off if copies didn't exist so that they don't fall into the wrong hands. So please, study them thoroughly now and practice them later. After you are each finished reviewing them, I will return them back to their places of belonging. But treat the knowledge of these techniques as a small token of gratitude for your tremendous efforts. Ibari, you are already well endowed within the Sunagakure ranks, but you Seb, somehow are still a genin..."

Thinking momentarily to himself, Guren mentally weighed the pros and cons of promoting Sebastian without direct authorization from Mizuki. Truthfully he would already be in some shit by not asking for her permission to grant the two men access to village exclusive techniques, so promoting a deserving genin would be the least of his problems. "Well. Seb. Would you accept the title and responsibilities of Chuunin of Sunagakure?" Guren would ask while narrowing his eyes and folding his arms across his chest.

The tea would be sipped rather slowly as he looked over toward Seb and back to Guren. Seems like the two had history and he wasn't going to pry any further on it. Speaking of Mizuki it would seem as she wasn't back yet. Interesting how that development played out but he would surely hear about the meeting whenever she got back. In the meantime he would continue to listen to the reason they were here, a small raise of his right brow would show some sign of surprise as they were both being allowed to learn something from the Suna vaults. Ibari himself had already knew of Assimilating Aura and of course the Iron Sand technique of which he was the 1st and sole user of...but this new technique did raise some interest. When he heard that Seb was going to be granted the privilege of learning Iron sand a small laugh came from Ibari as black grains began to form around him, and soon the scroll would find itself being pushed back to Guren and away from Seb," I'm a little hurt that instead of just asking me to teach him you'd give him the scroll. Not that I mind of course, its just that it would be better if I took this particular...route myself. As the first and only person to have the unique pleasure of mastering the Iron Sand technique, I can teach him much more than the scroll ever could...should he accept," the black grains would find themselves slowly deforming from the hand and finding their way back into the darkness of his cloak, the almost glowing amber eyes of Ibari would find themselves looking over to Seb as if he was waiting for a response. In the meantime his left hand moved for the scroll containing the Limitation Removal technique and unraveled it slowly, his eyes going to its contents as his three-tomoe sharingan began to form. Reading through the contents he would chuckle for a moment as he shook is head," Of course. Only that madman would devise such a powerful, yet overbearing technique. Suits me just fine I would guess," he wasn't going to haphazardly practice it and shave off some of his life-force, but he would remember the application and usage for later. Rolling up the scroll he would return it to the desk and deactivate his sharingan," Alright...Now where were we. Oh yeah. If you want to learn Iron Sand, first you need to learn and at least have some small form of understanding about Jiton...Magnet release for those of you less inclined," as he spoke he would focus his chakra into his hands and hold it towards the furthest metallic substance or item in the room.

Unfortunately for him, it would pull more than he wanted but because he was well adept with the element they began to float around him as if he had a gravitational pull. Looking to Seb he would hold out his right hand and point to each object before pointing to him," By using the combined elements of Earth and Wind to create a magnetic field in which you can control magnetic objects and in this particular instance," he would move his left index finger an inch before the iron sand came out and began to float around him in place of the items," It allows you to control and use the Iron Sand technique. Following so far? If so first try and combine your chakra to move this here," pushing forward one of the metallic objects forward that would be his test. He'd wait of course and during that time he would turn to Guren," So what do you think will come to pass with this meeting Mizuki went to? I'm hoping I get actually have some rest and not have to do anything strenuous," the man was honestly tired of the day to day as an ANBU but he couldn't say he didn't enjoy it as well.

It appeared both Guren and Ibari would briefly discuss the situation involving Mizuki's whereabouts. From what he could make out of their conversation the Kazekage still hadn't returned from her travels to and from the Land of Tea. Sebastian didn't even know the Lady in Red had traveled somewhere but when he thought about it the young Berserker realized it made sense for only the higher ups in the village to be aware of such important matters, ones involving the Kage of Sunagakure. For now the Tau decided to pay no mind, after all, there were different reasons as to why his presence was required.

His friend would then change the subject as he brought up the motive for inviting Seb and Ibari to his office, the former mercenary glad to find out the purpose of their meeting. He listened as Guren repeated some of his earlier lines, explaining both men were going to be rewarded for their loyalty, leading examples of what it meant to be a true Sunagakure shinobi. "Hey man, don't hate the player, hate the game" the Berserker said in response. True, he was one in a kind but perhaps that would also be the reason why Sebastian could be seen as a valuable asset to the village.

Up first would be Ibari's gift, the man being handed a scroll containing a technique called Limitation Removal, a jutsu which would allow for a magnificent increase in one's power. It seemed it was up to his liking, making a small note on how crazy Lord First had to be in order to come up with such an ability. "My turn", Seb eagerly waited for Guren to tell him what he'd be receiving, curious if there were other powerful techniques similar to the one Ibari obtained. The Big Blood started to explain, informing the Tau he'd acquire something called Sand Manipulation, the Iron kind to be precise.

Before the misfit could accept the gift Ibari used something to push it back to Guren and away from Sebastian. "Hey, hey, Keep your grains off my scroll". It appeared the man had something else in mind, mentioning how there would be no better teacher than him when it came to teaching someone the art of Iron Sand. The ANBU demonstrated what he meant by focusing his chakra and retrieving a metallic object, letting it float around him almost as if he was manipulating gravity. Seb would squint his eyes, looking if it wasn't just a magic trick being played on him. 

Convinced Ibari might indeed be the most suited to teach Magnet Release the young misfit accepted the proposal. "Yeah yeah, I accept. Now tell me more". It would be the first time Sebastian had been so focused on something, a serious look on his face as he paid attention to Ibari's words. Listening attentively to the man's explanation it wasn't that long before he'd have to try it himself, a bit odd given the circumstances. After all, the three of them were still sitting in Guren's office instead of at the training grounds where most practice took place.

Remembering that in order to learn Iron Sand one first had to become familiar with Jiton, or Magnet Release as it was called more commonly. Keeping those words in mind Sebastian would finally give it a try, hoping it wouldn't take him too long to pull it off. The Tau first touched the object he had to move, making sure it wasn't an impossible task to begin with. Going over the information provided by the ANBU once more he finally concentrated. "Combine both the elements of Earth and Wind to create a magnetic field, alright". By doing so he'd be able to control magnetic objects and in turn the Iron Sand technique.

In the meantime the other two would discuss the earlier matter of Mizuki and her whereabouts, whereas Sebastian was busy focusing on what would be in front of him. Possessing all five basic elements helped him greatly, combining the elements of Earth and Wind with close to no effort. Not a lot of people were aware how the misfit was able to manipulate that many elemental natures but eventually some might find out, whether on their own or because he decided to tell them. Concentrating on the metallic items atop of the desk he tried his hardest to create a magnetic field, hoping to be a natural when it came to Jiton.

As he did, over and over, countless attempts were made but all in vain. For a moment Seb thought he saw the item move but it was simply his imagination, having focused so hard it looked as if the object started to move. Shaking his arms and hands, almost as if he was flapping them, he'd concentrate once more, combining the two elements needed for Magnet Release. "Ffff, fffff. I guess blowing won't help either". All jokes aside, Sebastian had a feeling it wouldn't be much longer before he would finally pull it off and succeed in creating a magnetic field.

And there it was, not a vision this time but actual reality as one of the objects had started moving, a little push impossible to be compared to Ibari's control but progress nonetheless. "Hehe, looks like I'm not half as bad" the former rogue boasted while rubbing his nose. Hoping he wasn't the only one witnessing the result he then remembered Guren's question, another surprise if he was honest. "I'm not sure if it actually fits me but I have no reason to decline". And with that the young Berserker accepted the promotion to Chuunin. 

He looked at both men, wondering whether or not their conversation had ended before inquiring further. "So, what's next?". Even though he slowly got the hang of manipulating Jiton he wasn't even close to becoming as proficient as the ANBU, which only meant there would be more room for improvement. Perhaps the Tau would become the second person to master Magnet.

Throughout his dialogue, Guren would laugh off Seb's comments, as they were comical and characteristic of Seb's nature. Yet he frowned slightly in hearing the reception of his offer towards Seb's reward.

"Ibari, I apologize. I was unaware of you already being proficient in Iron Sand. Someone of your status carries a certain level of...secrecy. Even from people in my position. But yes, Seb. Ibari would be an excellent tutor. Nevermind those scrolls." Guren would respond. He meant no offense to Ibari, yet was more than accepting of his offer to teach Seb. Guren would reach out and grab ahold of the scrolls, then return them to a drawer within his desk when the two were finished with them.

He'd watch Ibari instruct Seb on how to use the properties of magnet release, paying meticulous attention to every word described and action performed by both men. Although Guren himself would be incapable of learning how to harness it, he could still study its application. 

After the lesson, Ibari would pose an interesting question to Guren regarding Mizuki and the Tea Summit. Truthfully, Guren's mind wasn't made up on what would be the end result of such a meeting. "Well...judging by the tensions between Kirigakure and Sunagakure, I don't expect anything good to come from this meeting. However, I hope that it does not lead to outright war. We as a village have many things we need to handle before we can engage in something like that. And personally, our first priority should be monitoring the development of each other, and our younger shinobi. But knowing the Kazekage, she could be at the Mizukage's throat as we speak...Nevertheless, we must trust her judgement..." Guren speculated. He refrained from going in depth on any of his thoughts, yet still revealed his surface level presumption of some of the possibilities.

"What's next?" Guren would laugh. "Well Seb, as a Chuunin, you can pick up your necessary gear from the ninth floor of this building. It should have everything you need, including a Chuunin Flak Jacket...But I will need you to pick a Genin and personally oversee his or her growth. Ibari, seeing as Seb is becoming a disciple of one of your many proficiencies, I would like you to adapt him as your disciple of both Magnet release and Iron Sand. Do either of you have any objections?"

Guren leaned back in his chair, waiting to see what the two thought of the proposal. They could decline of course, but it would be for everyone's benefit if they didn't.

Looking back to Guren he would chuckle and pat Seb on the black with a black sand made hand," I'll make sure to take good care of him. If that is what this newly appointed chuunin. What say you Sebastian?," he'd wait for the response before smiling and walking off. He was no longer needed and with that it meant returning to the sands. As the black grains began to swirl around his body, he would turn his head just slightly as he looked to Seb," i'll send for you when its time to complete your training...," and with that his body would disappear in a display of black before it fully left.

As Guren and Ibari further discussed the matter of Mizuki's whereabouts the young Berserker would let both men finish while he himself began to wonder about all the possible things he could do once mastering Magnet Release and Iron Sand. In all honesty it was something Sebastian never thought about or even considered. What he did remember however was the day Kenshin informed him of strong techniques similar to the First's Masked Beasts, ones which were engraved in a scroll as the village's secrets. Once the former mercenary had proven himself useful to Sunagakure would also be the day he'd receive some of those techniques. And by the looks it it that day finally arrived.

The two men's conversation ended, Sebastian doing his best not to eavesdrop. Although he was able to pick up on some things it would be none of his concern, village matters more the deputy and ANBU's cup of tea. It appeared nothing else needed to be said or discussed, both their rewards and Mizuki's topic wrapped up. "Thank you, both". Sebastian's gratitude would be sincere, for the promotion as well as being able to learn Magnet Release and Irond Sand under Ibari's tutelage. Now that the Tau received permission to learn some of the village secret techniques his road to power and knowledge continued. "If you'll excuse me, it seems I have a jacket to pick up". A slight bow before exiting the office, Sebastian on his way to the ninth floor and then awaiting Ibari's call.
