Do you hear those sleigh bells ringing?

Damn. Of all the things they could have suggested. All the topics that would end in interesting and favorable ways, the group had to decide on this. Saya parted lips to give input about opperation getting some food, but immedately was shushed in the same way one would stop a cat from climbing onto the christmas tree and knocking things over. Ai let out a long sigh, looking saya directly in the eyes, and together they stood for several moments having a convorsation no one else could hear. Thankfully, Freyja was there. 

"Don't mind them. So sorry for the oddity, I assure you we are not always so obtuse. Sayatria does this thing where she obsesses about specific things that she find comfort in. Since she arrived in Kiri to start training as a ninja she's been eating the exact same meal several times a day. Horrible habit we've been trying to break her of for some time. Ai is simply explaining exactly why her suggestion is not feasable, and negotiating terms by which she'll accept something else. " Her tone was even and calm. It was immediately clear that this wasn't the first time they'd had to give this explaination. After a brief silence, The two twins shook their heads, snapping out of their mental battle of wits. 

"I guess Steamed buns or pork or something sounds fine. it's 'important that I find some variation in my diet in order to grow into a big strong ninja and suceed in my goals of helping the world turn from the cruelty of war and become a brighter place' ". The end was clearly a direct quote, spoken with a tinge of defiant sarcasm. Still she wouldn't complain when they started discussing where to eat, nodding and generally trying her best to listen and find interest in these wierd foods she hadn't had right up to the point when SHe heard the world butterscotch. 

"........Candy is good. I like candy.... It's not Mappo tofu from the old lady's shop right down the street from my house but it does soung hecka yummy!!!! I mean. If yall want. We can get something meal like too." Saya was already nearly salivating from the mere thought. A big thick buterscotch sundae.... Butterscotch candies... uh. Other things that use the delicious golden creation? She wasn't exactly well versed, but she was very much in with this plan. 

Unfortunately it would seem that in the mental battle between realistic puppet and pupeteer Asahi's joke was lost on team puppet. Off to the side, however, A single puppet dressed as a gym coach held a sign with encouraging words. Written in kanji. the white paper sign would read "i thought your joke was very funny. Rice, leaves and Water. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA". At the bottom was a smiley face emoji, which raised its own questions, but natrually there isn't time to get into all of that, and so we will not. In emphasis, if Asahi noticed and commented, he would give the boy a thumbs up and close the hatch like mouth in his best attempt to smile without lips or effective facial features. She really should update him with realistic parts at some point.

A fun time really was had by all. There was so much food, games, and all sorts of jubilation that left team puppet exhausted and full. Impressively, with the pull of societal pressure and her puppets basically breathing down her neck the entire time they spent shifting from cart to cart, picking up various treats, Saya ended up trying a boatload of new foods. She had exactly two bites of a steamed bun, Almost half of the small order of roast pork, Enough Butterscotch drinks to probably fill a pool, and though she didn't actually eat all of them now, She made excelent use of the hatch on the back of the coach puppet. Over the course of an evening, with the rediculous ammount of money given as a stipend from her mother to basically not ever show her face in a way that would link her to her family again, She filled the hollow interior of her stage puppet with sweet treats that would one hundred percent get taken away immediately upon her seeing the real Ai in the hotel room they shared. PupAIt was kind of looking fowards to that part. 

If Asahi thought the couple of signs were interesting now, he would find a remarkable ability of speech in the coach puppet throughout their time hanging out together. Impressively, witout all the extra work stopping any focus on the puppet, it would become clear that somehow he'd made each of the signs he was using for responses ahead of time. Now I know what you're thinking. That seems impossible. It would take an omniscient higher power giving him information for that to make any sense, and I'm with you dear listeners, but through no rediculous magic, Every time there was a good point for him to respond to this or that, he would open the large backpack on his side, root around for a few moments, and produce a sign that perfectly encapsulated his thoughts on the matter. 

Saya, feeling a little bit bad about her trick on Asahi earlier at the dunking booth, would offer to pay for his own attempts. When her turn came around it was... Unideal. She was a terrifying force on the battlefield using the power of her blood, but i mean. She threw like a girl yanno? Something about having never had a reason to pick up a weapon or ninja tool because she was born with the ability to manipulate the world around her made her impressively bad at throwing something into something else. 

The Shuriken throwing booth ended about how you'd expect. Saya watched, trying to take in Asahi's strategy so she could make a btter showing than the dunk tank, and she succeeded in hitting a mark twice. The mark, however was the pad of one of her fingers. She stabbed herself. Yes, before you decide you need to ask, it hurt very much, but Saya was used to the pains of training, and so she took it in stride. This is to say she cried, but it was only for a moment. A bit of comforting and some bandaging by Ai later, she was off to her next task, ending the day by saying bye to her two new friends and heading home for a big surprise.
