Birds of a feather

Hayato marched to the training facility at a rushed pace. Today he had promised to meet up with Kato. The two had become closer after going on a few missions together. Kato had suggested they try a joint training session and Hayato had agreed. The long walk to the village hadn’t felt as long today. He wore waraji sandals along with his dark blue ronin robes. He carried both his wakizashi and his katana in his black obi. The weapon pouches attached to the back of the same belt were filled with his assorted ninja tools. Shuriken kunai, wire. All the things a young ninja would use for training. His straw had shielded him from the bright midday sun. Hayato was glad they decided on a training room for today.
Hayato was excited to see all that Kato was capable of and perhaps trade some pointers. The village of Tanbo didn’t have enough high ranking ninja to facilitate the genin squads led by genin seen in other villages. Most missions were taken on a voluntary basis, and consisted of village upkeep tasks and handling spontaneous problems around the town. Regardless, Hayato was committed to being as strong as he could in order to protect the village. This meant being able to work with other shinobi. If he couldn’t work with Kato, a person he’d met many times and had much in common with, then how was he going to work with other people?
Hayato walked through the guarded training field and made his way to the outdoor hallway on the ground level outside of a large vacant room. He decided to wait here until his friend arrived. He wondered what Kato had to share and what of his techniques could be of interest to Kato. Hayato leaned against the walls and twiddled his thumbs until the Uchiha showed himself.
