Birds of a Feather Explode Together
Thu May 26, 2016 4:16 pm
Hakuoh was back, back to his last training spot, he wanted to perfect some of his jutsu considering that his explosive release was still lacking in some aspects. He was able to create some animals for his delivery method, but he was lacking some mobility, he was incapable of using flight animals for his small explosive.
Which was ironic considering that he was able to create a large one to ride, maybe it had to do with size for him, his designs were off when it came to small and light so they couldn't catch air properly. Which was plausible, or he was just making them a bit too dense, it was also a likely possibility, so many different variables to consider he'd just have to continue crafting till he got it down. Trial and error it was, it's a good thing he was getting used to blowing himself up accidentally.
Hakuoh sat down in the clearing, letting himself take in the peaceful surroundings while it lasted. He created a glob of clay to work with, the particles drifting from his skin and creating a sizable chunk he could work with and mold. He found crafting by hand first made the jutsu easier to perform and create it on the fly, when put into perspective it was possibly a memorization thing, creating the shape and committing it or it was the construct becoming one with his chakra network. Hakuoh shrugged, the philosophy of why it worked was an idea for another time, always a philosopher and an explosioneer.
He started molding the clay, giving it the rough shape, forming it into a misshapen oval to start with, it was practically the two and a half feet in diameter the long way. He ran his thumb across the oval, like a fine carving tool it left perfect indentations as he absorbed the clay back, giving it some basic details.
He held it aloft, looking at it, "Looks kinda like a some child's drawing of a bird." He chuckled at himself, it was disproportionate and crude but it did vaguely resemble a bird of some sort. He used his pinky finger as he detailed the face, hollowing out the eyes and adding some ornate looks and artistic paths as he fleshed out the beak and head. He ran his hand down the body minimizing the proportions to fit with the head.
He started detailing the wings, not going for realism but still trying to keep it aerodynamic, he gave each of the wings five subsections to act as feathers. Following the curve he detailed the edges of the wings so the bird could easily separate them from the body and actually use them. He gave a bit of a curve along the body, making it more and more bird like. He brought his hands under the body, adding bits of clay and detailing it simultaneously to create the legs.
He appraised the work, sighing with relief as it was a fairly beautiful sculpture. He activated the latent chakra in the clay, animating the small statue, it flit around hopping about his lap. "Alright, now to see if you can get airborne."
He picked up the bird, grabbing onto the body of the bird he drew it back, taking aim at a distant tree he threw the bird. Its wings spread out gracefully, flapping happily as it plummeted to the earth unforgiving, exploding on contact with the ground creating a crater and a feeling of disappointment.
With a heavy sigh Hakuoh stood, "Of course it didn't fly, why would it." His rage directed at nothing in particular, but still his frustration was incredible. He decided to take a break, and cool off, when his emotions were high, explosions had this tendency to happen unexpectedly.

After a night of relaxation and watching for assassins hidden in the dark, Hakuoh was partially rested and ready for another go for training. He returned to his previous training spot, the various craters practically marking it for his own usage, almost like a field of explosives went off. Which it had in a way, technically.
Hakuoh took his ready stance in the middle of the field, feet spread, hands together as he focused his chakra gathering it in preparation. Separating his hands he'd turn his left so the palm was facing up, he'd recall the structure of the bird he created yesterday, materializing it slowly, particles drifting off from his forearm and hand forming the statue.
He was glad he could make it so easily, every day his abilities astounded him, especially in how he was becoming more and more fluent in them. He examined the bird, running his hand over it in thought as he tried to figure out a better way to make it fly. He'd start with the weight, taking his forefinger he'd encircle the back of the bird, taking away clay as he did so, making an indentation. Slowly he started to hollow out the bird making it less dense, once he finished doing so he place his palm to the back of it, sealing the hole he made.
He appraised it once more, using his hand as a scale, judging the new weight mentally. He really hoped it would fly this time, considering the work he had put into his design. He animated the bird, it flapped its wings slightly, as if it was saying it was ready. With a flick of the wrist he sent it off, and to his pleasure it took to the air gracefully, flying off towards tree he had mentally set for a target. As it made contact Hakuoh quickly made the tiger seal, triggering the bird to explode. He created a few more of his birds, and sent them off with a hand motion, flying them in a tight formation around the clearing, it made good practice in controlling them. With a smile he walked away from his training spot, his goal fulfilled, his jutsu finally learned.
