Astral Dreams - Hidden Meanings

Meika had a very weird dream last night. It wasn't like one of those dreams where she ended up forgetting most of it after she awoke. No; the events that occurred within the dream were still fresh within her thoughts. As if those events really did happen, even though it was just merely a dream.

Within that dream she had that night, Meika recalled how odd her surroundings were. The raven haired woman had found herself surrounded by some sort of astral space. Everything had been dark, almost like the empty sky of a starry night, with numerous winking stars that filled the dark void. If one was to try and count every sparkle within the space, they would find themselves counting for a whole enternity. It would go on forever, to no true end.

Meika remembered reaching out with her pale hand as if to try touching one of the twinkling celestial bodies, but her fingers were only reaching into the empty abyss. Even though she was surrounded by the winking lights, they seemed to be far, far from her reach.

Meika recalled wondering how far the abyss went. If she was to try walking in a single direction, would she ever find the end of the abyss? That question was never really answered. For she never found a dead end.

Each foot step caused some sort of reaction to occur beneath her. Even though there only seemed to be empty space beneath her feet, Meika was obviously somehow able to walk across. As if she was walking along with some sort of invisible surface, that lit up with each step she took.

Meika found it beautiful.

Despite experiencing some sort of outer worldly dream, without being aware that it was just a dream during its occurrence, Meika seemed to handle it with a neutral composure.

She didn't find the experience troubling in the slightest. If anything, the lass found herself captivated by a sense of curiosity.

A little while during her time in the astral dream, a familiar voice startled Meika's attention.

Oh, so she wasn't all alone here after all.

Her phantom eyes gazed upon the direction in which the familiar voice came. That was when she beheld a very enchanting encounter. Her eyes landed on a creature, as it twisted itself within the empty space above her. It looked as if it was flying with the stars.

The creature had a massive silver body, that almost looked as if the silver stars gifted the beast with such a magnificent color. Each scale that ran along its body, from snout to tail, seemed to glisten just like the celestial bodies.

"Meika~" The voice spoke her name, although the mouth of the beast never opened. There was something about the voice that caused her chest to constrict. As if an invisible tightness threatened to suffocate her as Meika became overwhelmed with some sort of anxiety. But why?

The woman knew that she heard the voice before.

She heard the voice when she first awakened her Kamigawa bloodline, the eye with capabilities to unveil the spiritual boundaries of her world.

But was that the only time she heard this voice?

The beast descended from above and landed within Meika's path. Its eyes never left hers. Its massive scaley body caused a tremor as the dragon made its landing. Meika recalled these types of dragons in mythical stories. The gorgeous Chinese dragon had a long snake - like body that flew across the skies as if by magic alone. There were no signs of wings that were to carry the gigantic beast.

The raven - haired woman felt a deep emotion blossom from within her. she didn't know why, but her right hand extended out towards the dragon. As if reaching to touch its face as the beast bowed its head for her.

The silence within her seemed to roar so loudly. Everything felt right, but also wrong at the same time. She felt as if she was seeing a long lost friend but also felt so alone as her eyes beheld the flawless monster before her.

But; before her fingers could graze against the dragon's silver cheek, the dragon suddenly raised its head out of her reach, Completely interrupting her attempt. "Wait-" Her voice quivered as she tried to stop the beast.

However; she had no luck with her words. The beast did not wait for her, instead, it prepared itself to ascend back into the upper abyss. Far, far out of her reach. "Please-" Meika begged once more. But the dragon did not falter. He soared back into the space, leaving her hopelessly behind.

Meika buckled to her knees. Her throat felt tight. Her eyes stung as a single tear fell from her Uchugan eye, which for some reason was now activated. The hot tear slid down her face as Meika hugged her arms tightly to her chest. She chocked back a sob. She felt miserable. Here she was, completely unraveled like a helpless little girl. "Mizuchi- please don't leave me." -Exit-
