Why was the boy here? Was it because of his own ambitions? Was it because of his father's? Did he have a thirst for power? Was it for the sand? Yusuke hadn't decided. The world was a harsh place even for someone so young. He was starting to feel the pressure from every direction. If he wasn't a powerful shinobi then why did he give up art? If he wasn't a powerful shinobi then how would he ever prove himself to the village? If he wasn't a powerful shinobi then how would he ever attain his father's dreams? I must become a powerful shinobi. The thought rang in his mind like a church bell that never ceased.
In a darkened wing of the hospital the boy waited in silence with a few other shinobi. They all wore a look of worry, desperation, and hope. Each was there for the same reason. There was recently a notice posted on the mission board for an experiment requiring shinobi. This wasn't uncommon, but the reward for participation wasn't money or mission credit. Where there was usually ryo there was simply stated "power and honor".
Not many people took it seriously. It had no seal of approval or guarantee. Only the seductive promise that men seek all their lives. Once the 5 shinobi brave, desperate or foolish enough had arrived at the location they were informed of the experiment. They would have an organ transplanted into them that would give them even more powerful chakra. It would allow them to bend the natural chakra of the world and use it for greater strength. The sand would hold those who survived with higher regard. Survive? Yusuke thought the term was alarming and so did the others. They were all informed that the survival rate was less than 30 percent, and, even if you survived, one could become a rampaging monster.
They weren't going to force anyone here to stay, but they wouldn't give any more details unless you survived. Two shinobi left. Yusuke the usually young and pleasant genin sat with one head wrapped chunin in the darkened hall listening to medical equipment sounds and then screaming. The man who went in before them was an ANBU. The remaining chunin's eyes went wide as he listened to the screams. He eventually stood up unable to take it anymore. Kid, If an ANBU can't survive this then we've got no chance. I don't know why you want this surgery, but I suggest you forget it. Life is too precious. The poetic chunin then left.
Yusuke should have too, but he couldn't. His eyes had darkened. He thought about his life and how he'd already made a few mistakes. He was sure he was on the right path, but this would make his dreams not only attainable, but easily attainable. He sighed and shook his head as the screams finally ceased.
The light above the operation room went dark and the door swung open reveling blood stained walls and a panting ANBU member, but not the one who went in for the operation. That man was dead on the table. The ANBU who stood above him pulled his sword from his chest. The doctor who had informed them of the operation came out to fetch the next participant.
Are you sure about this boy? The older man would ask. Yusuke stood up and nodded. He wanted this. He needed this. He would survive.

Re: Implant[Guren]

In a rather interesting series of events, Guren had finally received hospital approval to conduct a series of trials of a handful of younger village shinobi. The question at hand was seeing how a high level transplant would impact the body of youth and how they would learn to grow with it. Having been the subject of several experiments and transplants himself, he saw this as an opportunity for young shinobi to grow strong. But he didn't wish to unnecessarily put their lives at risk. Thus he discussed with the doctors of the hospital on the proper dosage required to be the perfect mixture of non-lethal and effective. The concentration deduced upon was simple, and would be no more than a couple cubic centimeters of preserved blood from the body of a man Guren had slain. He was a Jugo, a clan bestowed with the curse of monstrosity and the gift of power. Yet only those with sound minds and dedicated bodies would be able to withstand high dosages. Thus to weed out the unqualified, Guren would first test the minds of the candidates.
Prior to this though he along with the doctors of Sunagakure would set up a series of rooms for operation, each equipped with a syringe containing no more than 2 cubic centimeters of preserved blood. The syringes were kept on ice and within the confines of their respective coolers. Also within each room were two sets of operating tables. One for the test subject, and the other for testing the subject's resolve. And so once each room had been properly set up, hidden cameras and microphones were installed in each to document to patients' reactions. Now with the experimental design laid out, Guren would perform a simple transformation jutsu to disguise himself as a simple middle aged doctor. He'd then instruct the rest of the doctors to monitor the surveillance cameras while he himself went to secure the test subjects and perform the operations.
Leaping into action, Guren would walk towards the reception area where five participants waited. One ANBU, two Chuunin, and two Genin. A decent sample size of diverse backgrounds.
"Good afternoon shinobi, I am Doctor Wendell. I am glad to see such a favorable turnout for today's trials. As time is of the essence, I will refrain from explaining the details of the experiments until each of you are in your respective experimental settings. But I will bring one of you back with me to begin the tests every 20 minutes. Now do I have any volunteers?"
With this introduction, two hands would shoot up first: the Anbu's and a Chuunin's.
"Splendid!" Guren, aka Dr. Wendell, would say with a welcoming smile upon his face. He'd walk up to the Chuunin, shake his head, and then proceed to escort the Chuunin to the back. And when the physical contact between the Doctor and the Chuunin would take place, the young shinobi would immediately succumb to the genjutsu of the Ketsuryugan. It would fill the atmosphere with horror as soon as the pair would make it away from visual distance of the remaining test subjects. And the intensity would depend on the resolve of the candidate. This was the first trial, aimed to test the shinobi's willpower. Unfortunately the first shinobi failed horribly, crying and shrieking as soon as he entered the test room but before a shot was even administered. The genjutsu was terrifying to him, as it was riddled with a sensory overloaded version of a typical hospital visit: blood, death, and anxiety. The potency of this genjutsu was clearly too much for him. Those who failed this portion of the test never even received the shot. Yet those who passed, would receive their shot while in the presence of the illusions of the other dead test subjects lying on surgery tables in the same room. The genjutsu was even strong enough to replicate the stench of decaying bodies. But even though the illusion seemed real, no one would die today. Guren was a scientist, but he would not jeopardize the life or sanity of his people. And the whole reason Guren had concocted such an in depth experiment was to ensure the shinobi would be capable of handling the insanity and lack of control that came with becoming one with the Jugo. Guren could teach the subject how to harness the power of nature energy, as he was a master at it. But learning to live with the rage and rampart of the berserker was something people had to be innately capable of.
After hoarding each disciple and subjugating them to the genjutsu, Guren had only administered one shot. The subject who received it, the Anbu, was relocated to an isolated room to contain and analyze his berserker stage. Yet to this point the doctors and scientists had no hope of the Anbu containing it. So finally there was one test subject who remained, Yusuke.
Guren's disguised body would approach him and extend his hand out to the genin, which would trigger the genjutsu. If he chose not to shake Guren's hand, the trial would not commence and Yusuke would be asked to leave. But if he did, then Guren would simply ask him "Are you sure about this, boy?" in a lowered yet light tone, which Yusuke responded with a confident nod. And so the genjutsu would begin. Guren would escort him down the hallway, which would go on to feel like an eternity to the genin. The hallway would stretch, and his sense of hearing would become blurred. Lights flickered, and the imagery of blood splatter would be stained upon the walls. Eerie screams were fabricated, muffled enough so that Yusuke would be unable to discern what they were saying but loud enough for them to chill his bones. Though the initiation of the genjutsu was subtle, the level of it would be too difficult for Yusuke to naturally detect. It would just seem as if this had been a hospital of horror.
Once they made it into Yusuke's testing room, Guren would open the door and motion for him to enter and take a seat. Immediately Yusuke would see the sight of three dead shinobi each lying on their own surgery table. Guren would clear his throat, still disguised, and then speak to the genin. "This was the fate of the others. Only one has made it on to the next level of testing. If you still wish to proceed, then we can begin with a simple shot containing extracted blood samples with that of a Jugo clan member. Should your body accept this transfusion, then we will move on to the next stage. But before we begin, I need to ensure you are mentally sound. Do you want to go on?"
Guren would ask this question while carefully analyzing the body language and response of Yusuke. Should he show significant signs of mental wavering or a breakdown, he would call off the experiment. The Kazekage expected the shinobi to be deeply disturbed, but it was the way in which they handled it that was of interest to him. And so, he waited for a response while he bore the capped syringe in his hand.

The walk to the room was honestly horrifying. He wondered how his mother practically lived here while simultaneously hoping that she never was a part of this section of the hospital. There were blood stains everywhere. A putrid stench of decay that triggered the feelings of fight or flight. Yusuke was above his biology though. He would stay and follow the doctor. He couldn’t shake the uneasy feelings of dread as he entered the operation room. Then he saw it. The fate of those that had joined the experiment.
The bodies were lined up all unmoving and peaceful. Yusuke was scared his heart rate increased. He felt the need to breathe more often. Hyperventilation. Is this really worth it… the thought repeated in his mind. Run Yusuke! echoed around his skull in the voice of his father. That’s likely what his dad would want him to do. The breathing got harder. He knew he had to control himself. Slowly he thought of his reasons for doing this. This is my home. I want power to protect. The power to leave a legacy. With his resolve alone he was able to banish the doubts replacing it with rationale.
How could he protect without seeing death and braving horrid conditions? This was the darkness of the shinobi world, and he would have to accept it sooner or later.
His breathing steadied after what felt like a full ten minutes, but had probably only been a 1 at the most. He laid on the operation table with a calm mind despite the less than pleasant conditions. The doctors strapped him down to the table, and it was time to begin.
Yusuke was ready. Was it the fearlessness he obtained from braving the industrial district time and time again in the pursuit of art? Perhaps. Or maybe he was fearless all along? The syringe approached his arm. He knew what he needed to do. Control yourself. Like a fire if you take too much you’ll expand out of control. Maintain yourself. Don’t give up. He was encouraging himself in his own way as his skin was pierced and from his perspective the Jugo blood entered his blood stream. For a moment nothing happened, but then the room started to change.
The room distorted and the lights grew harsher. He heard himself laughing all around him and his own voice telling him to kill. The idea of causing bloodshed gripped his soul. The intrusive thought of shoving his own fist through the skull of all the doctors around him was attempting to convince him that was his own true desire. He started laughing to himself. I’ve got the power to take on the whole world HAHAHAHAHA! The words escaped him at a low volume that ended in a crescendo of loud laughter. The mania was euphoric. He felt like chakra was seeping into him from the outside. It was fueling him, giving him far greater strength. This feeling felt good. Maybe too good. It eroded him a little. It felt like he was just the chakra that was coming into him.
Yusuke was watching himself from the outside as he flailed on the operation table. He felt like he had lost control. But he refused to give up. He grabbed himself by the collar of the medical gown he wore and slapped himself. This seemed to shock the berserk Yusuke who’s eyes went wide. DON’T GIVE UP IDIOT! CONTROL YOURSELF! Yusuke shouted in a dark and serious commanding voice. DO YOU WANT TO DIE? This made the berserk Yusuke straighten up. The flailing stopped. There was a long deep breath. Then another. Then three. maintain the fire. Don’t let it go out of control…He imagined his body aflame. The chakra was burning his entire being. Then he imagined that he could control that flame. He pulled it inside of himself. The fire was fuel and he would use it. The fire seemed to be contained at his center. It flowed through his chakra network, but it eventually was snuffed out. His visualization had succeeded in rapidly teaching him how to counter the effects he felt. Was this an innate resistance or something he learned on the fly? Who knows. Regardless, the boy on the tabe wasn’t reacting like the others did, at least not exactly.
Not yet… was the reply the previously berserk Yusuke gave to his outer self.
From this moment on, Yusuke returned to his usual perspective. Who knows what this exchange looked like to the observers, but Yusuke’s vitals would return to normal levels.
Phew… that stuff hits kind of hard, but I’m fine. Yusuke would smirk as if he was sure he had passed the first trial. Yusuke’s goals were simply more ingrained into him than the average person. His willpower [120] was far above the average. No small dose of mania could deteriorate his sense of self or overpower him. He was far too cocky for that.
What’s next? He would ask, still not exactly sure what had happened or if he had actually succeeded.

Upon receiving confirmation of his willingness, Doctor Wendell would connect Yusuke to several monitoring devices and then administer the shot into the genin's non dominant arm.. From there, he'd place the syringe down upon a surgical tray on the counter. And from there all that was left was to wait. Within mere moments, Yusuke's entire mannerisms would shift. Just as Guren had anticipated and exactly how the previous subjects had reacted to the injection. The combination of the small dosage of the blood along with the heavily potent genjutsu that was imposed onto each shinobi would be enough to quickly drive them to insanity. And sure enough Yusuke found himself in the same boat. But this was to be expected. The raging, the violent and sporadic convulsions of his body, and the chakra he emanated. Guren was pleased so far, but what would be most interesting would be what came next. If he could control himself or not. Most would not be able to, as only a select few should succeed. And this was an important point of the study. If the subject could not recover from insanity at this stage, then there would be no compatibility between that subject and an actual Jugo organ. The insanity created from a berserker transplantation was severe. And with prolonged and continue training of it, an ideal candidate should learn to reign it in and exploit its power.
And once Guren saw Yusuke had reached the peak of his insanity, he smiled to himself. There was no doubting that Yusuke's resolve was refined. And so Dr. Wendell would raise his fingers to his chest and form a single seal, ultimately releasing the genjutsu placed on Yusuke. The surrounding operating tables with the illusory corpses upon it would fade, and all the demented visuals and sounds would subside as well. And Yusuke would rapidly find himself coming back to earth. To him, he would have thought that he naturally overcame the insanity but in actuality the release of the genjutsu would be his saving grace. Truthfully, the induced blood alone was not so intense. But the genjutsu catalyzed its effects.
He'd shift his hand into forming another few seals, and his appearance as an older doctor would dissolve and before Yusuke would be standing the Kazekage. Guren would turn to the adjacent monitor near him, move the mouse that connected to it, and click a sequence of buttons. Subsequently the printer in the corner of the room would print out the few minutes of recorded vitals from Yusuke's test. Guren would go to retrieve them, look upon the papers, and reflect quietly to himself. All without saying a word in response to Yusuke's return to self as well as his questions.
After thinking to himself, his half smile would revert to a neutral expression. "Yusuke. As you probably gathered by now, I placed you under a genjutsu to amplify the minor effects from a small dosage of Jugo blood. Upon studying your vitals, they've all stabilized. Your chakra grew quite corrupt. But all in all, your body accepted the blood as its own and you were able to regain your mind after some internal conflict. Just as I expected from a Sunagakure shinobi."
"Based on what I've analyzed, you seem to be a prime candidate for this transplant. But receiving the transplant will mean rewriting your DNA. You will become one with the Jugo Clan and of the Berserker Lineage. You will be prone to spiraling out of control until you learn to master control over it. But I believe you will be able to harness its power, and should you ever lose your grip I can quell your bloodlust. But successfully adapting to its powers will mean harnessing control over nature chakra, forcing you to become a disciple of Senjutsu. Myself, I am a master at it, yet I studied it through traditional means. And that is exactly what has prompted me into conducting this study. I want to see the progression of how a transplant would develop. I have conducted several transplants on myself, so I understand them quite intimately. But the Berserker bloodline is one that's unique...Now, do you still wish to proceed?"

I want to see the progression of how a transplant would develop. I have conducted several transplants on myself, so I understand them quite intimately. But the Berserker bloodline is one that's unique...Now, do you still wish to proceed?"

the Kazekage!!! The boy was surprised to see the older man turn into the leader of the village right before his eyes. Lord kazekage! I- he started but he decided to play it cool and hear guren out. To be honest Yusuke hadn't noticed it was a genjutsu. He was too distracted by everything that was happening to him. The transformation was obvious immediately of course but the feeling of dread and distress left him once he got comfortable with Kazekage's sudden appearance. With things calming down he could pay more attention to what the leader of his military and his village was saying to him.
To Yusuke it sounded like the kazekage was proud of his performance. He said it was "as expected of a sunagakure shinobi" which, considering only an anbu member had made it through this trial before, made it seem like guren had acknowledged him as a shinobi.
Yusuke smirked at the little bit of praise. It seems my plan of becoming a well regarded shinobi of suna is going well then…
Yusuke listened to what the kazekage told him closely. It was rare to speak with the man directly or at least it had been for Yusuke.
Guren explained the true intent of the experiment and the dangers of becoming one of the Jugo clan. He also offered the young sarutobi reassurance that he himself had mastered the skills he would need to avoid losing control and that he would be able to stop him should it get too hairy.
Yusuke had already resolved himself to go through with this so there wasn't much left to say. Still the boy mustered a few words. He held nothing back his fun loving foolhardy half illusion had been shattered so he held nothing of his intentions back.
I believe that this will make me more powerful and a better asset to the village. I need to be powerful enough to win a seat as an important clan head of Suna. Even if I must cheat a bit by employing other bloodlines, I shall.
With your reassurance, I have nothing to fear. We can continue with the experiment.
The boy's face had grown cold a far cry from the spunky kid that sat before guren just minutes ago. Yusuke felt as though he was being given a gift, but he was also helping the kazekage he could probably ask for the thing that he wanted the most that giren could give him asside from the organ of the berserker.
Tell me if I am able to master this power will you allow me to learn restricted techniques from our village's vault?
Yusuke paused. The vault was a rumor. An academy one. They said the first kazekage had created many dangerous and powerful techniques and left them to the village. Yusuke was curious if the rumor was true, but more importantly learning the villages most powerful techniques and maybe even adding to their number would allow the boy to become even more valuable to the village. I was a shot in the dark, but perhaps he could land it.
Regardless of how Guren replied Yusuke had agreed to the experiment. Yusuke would comply with the rest of the operation.

As Yusuke went through his progressions, Guren would again watch his mannerisms. When it seemed apparent that he was still interested in receiving the transplant, Guren would walk himself over to the operating table. To the side of it was a self standing surgical tray, equipped with a scalpel and a pair of tongs. The table itself was of creative design, slightly inclined and equipped with a drainage system so that any excess blood would naturally flow downward and to the reservoir tank. Adjacent to the tray was a sink, where Guren would wash his hands and promptly dry then. And then came Yusuke's verbal approval that came with a slightly off putting comment regarding cheating. Guren would frown slightly, shake his head, and fold his arms.
"Cheating, is what you think of it? What a shame. I suppose I myself cheated to become Kazekage then, hm? Equipping ourselves with the DNA of those that have fallen by our hands is not a matter of cheating. It is survival of the fittest. It is using the resources that we presented with. It is opportunistic. Transplants are a stamp of Sunagakure's culture, and through combining bloodlines we learn new synergies that we never thought were before possible. I'd suggest you think a bit deeper on the subject matter."
Clearly displeased, he'd conclude his lecture then motion his arm for Yusuke to come and lay on the table. It was a pity that the genin saw something that Guren and Kenshin had studied so rigorously as an act of cheating. Ignorant even. In any case the conversation progressed on, where Yusuke promptly inquired about the potential of learning the village exclusive techniques.
"Mastering a transplant is something I expect of a recipient. The acquisition of a beloved village secret, is something that should be given as a reward to the deserving. Numerous members of this genin class have requested something similar. And I am looking for accomplishments, competency, and progression before I award something of that caliber to genin. As you may have known, the Second Kazekage along with one of her genin recently left the village. With her she took knowledge of a lot of our secrets. And I refuse to allow something like that to happen again. So relay to your class that I will refrain from administering village secrets to anyone else unless they prove undying loyalty and a commendable record...Now then remove your shirt and let's begin."
The Kazekage would weave through a series of handseals, belonging to the Chakra Anesthetic techniques. Upon doing so, his right hand would glow with a bright blue aura. It would then carry the anesthetic onto the midsection of Yusuke's body. After ample time for the numbing to apply, Guren would carry his right hand over to the surgical tray and grab ahold of the scalpel. With his free hand, he'd fire through two series of seals. The first would result in the materialization of a jar labeled "Kidney" onto the surgical table. He'd open it then continued with the next set of seals. These would coat Guren's left hand in the blessing of the Mystical Palm. "This may be awkward, but you won't feel a thing. Quick and painless." With that confirmation, Guren would create a small palm sized incision upon Yusuke's side. Following this, Guren would pin the flaps of the skin open, and go deeper with the scalpel to severe the attachments between Yusuke's own kidney and the surrounding tissue. Retrieiving the scalpel from his body, Guren would place it on the table and grasp the tongs. They'd be used to softly yet swiftly extract Yusuke's kidney and place it on the surgical tray. In a quick motion, Guren would use the tongs to retrieve the Jugo kidney from the jar and insert it into the void that was created in Yusuke. This whole process was done while Guren's left hand constantly healed the surrounding area and so the only symptom Yusuke would experience was minor bloodless. And within seconds, the newly placed kidney would be installed and accepted into Yusuke's body. Guren removed the pins from the flaps of skin surrounding the incision. The mystical palm would easily stitch the skin back together and Yusuke was as good as new. With the tongs still in his right hand, Guren would grab Yusuke's old kidney and plop it into the jar. A quick handseal would teleport the jar back to Guren's storage dimension and that would conclude the surgery. Quelling his chakra, the aura around his hand would fade and Guren would walk back over to the sink to once again wash his hands.
As he did so he'd speak to Yusuke. "Take it easy for the next few days. Your body will need to adjust to the surgery and naturally heal. Right now you are considerably weaker and prone to the berserker taking over. Fortunately this process of losing control won't begin until the Jugo bloodline awakens within your chakra system. So rest, then begin your training immediately. But in any case, you're dismissed. Thank you and I'm sure that kidney will treat you well."
After washing his hands, Guren would dry them and return to his notepad to document his thoughts and findings. Nevertheless he'd keep an ear out in case Yusuke had any closing comments or questions.

Lord Kazekage I- He bit his tongue Yusuke had been careless with his words he had not intended on offending the Kazekage, but now wasn't the time to correct himself. The boy waited and listened before speaking carelessly again. Whether it was because he had offended the man or that he just hadn't achieved much of anything, aside form a few B, and C rank missions, access to the villages secret was denied to Yusuke. He wasn't surprised, but he'd be a liar if he didn't admit to a little disappointment. I'll just have to use this gift wisely then won't I... He thought before Guren told him the story of the second Kazekage and her treachery. Yusuke couldn't think of what would lead a Kazekage to leave the village. Suna was a great village in Yusuke's eyes. The people were hardened, but fair, and kind to their own. He'd only been treated well by his friends, neighbors, and fellow shinobi. Even the harsher ones seemed to at least offer each Sunanite civility. He felt that such a person or persons didn't deserve to know the secrets of the village. Perhaps one day Yusuke could track them down and retrieve them? It was too soon. A Kazekage that was on Guren's level would be far too much for the boy. He'd work towards that goal as a way to prove his loyalty to village.
Guren had a message to get out to all genin hoping to learn the village's secrets. Yusuke was fairly popular at the academy he did have the connections with most of the blabber mouths of his class despite being held back a little. I'll make sure the message gets out... Yusuke didn't want to say too much at this point there were a lot of thoughts swirling in his head. He needed to become proven and display his loyalty to the sand. This transplant would certainly help him on his way. I'm starting to understand his point more...
Yusuke removed his shirt and laid back on the table ready to begin the surgery. Yusuke was a bit nervous now that it was happening. He did note that no one was around besides Guren. Is he going to do the whole surgery himself? Yusuke didn't know as much about medicine as he should, but it seemed a little risky to him. Nevertheless he pressed on. He trusted Guren with sending him on mission. So I should trust his decision now. Yusuke grit his teeth and closed his eyes. He heard a and felt a few things, but he definitely didn't feel pain. Fist there was a numbing sensation. He couldn't feel the midsection of his body any longer. Next heard a jar sitting on a table and opening then there was nothing. It felt like nothing had happened to him. Yusuke peeked out of the corner of his eye looking downward to see if perhaps there had been some kind of complication? But no. All he saw was his body open with an obviously open spot where an organ was suppose to be.
A chill went down Yusuke's spine as a replacement for what he'd lost was put into place. It was now that Yusuke chose to close his eyes. It's probably best if I don't look... He thought but he'd already seen the worst of it. A few moments later Guren spoke up.
He gave him instructions letting him know to rest and that he would be more prone to losing control after the Jugo organ had settled inside it's new home. Yusuke nodded along still shocked at how little pain he felt during the process of losing a kidney. Is lord Kazekage going to keep my kidney? Yusuke wondered, but he also figured it was of no consequence to him. He wouldn't need any more. He was dismissed, but Yusuke wanted to say something before he left. He considered his words.
Thank you Lord Kazekage. Before I spoke carelessly. I will think about what you said and make sure to make this power, this gift my own for the sand. Yusuke stood up very slowly to make sure not to ruin Guren's handy work. He then knelt before the Kazekage and lowered his head. Guren was probably right about survival of the fittest and being opportunistic. This was an opportunity for the Sarutobi to push himself to new heights. I'll rise above my father and take this opportunity by the horns. Next time I'm before you I will have an accomplishment to share. Verbal affirmations of his desires and goals were to inform the Kazekage as much as it was for himself. He now knew what he needed to do. First on the list was mastering this organ.
Yusuke would listen to hear what if anything the Kazekage had left to tell him. Finally, if Guren didn't stop him, he would rise to his feet but keep his head lowered. He would then slowly make his move towards the door. Though his body felt fine he was starting to tire. His bed at home was calling his name.

As Yusuke apologized, Guren accepted the apology with a nod of affirmation. He didn't want to scold or belittle the genin's thought process, but he wanted him to understand and the culture of Sunagakure and embrace the benefits of science. And so as Yusuke went to kneel, Guren raised an eyebrow. From the apology and vocal confirmation of his ambitions, Guren could tell that the genin was sincere. "Yusuke, do not take my words with harshness. I just want to mold a certain mentality in our shinobi. Understand that being opportunistic means survival. I am glad to hear that ambition within you, keep it and let that motivate you. I look forward to the next time we meet."
When Yusuke would leave, Guren would stay behind for a few minutes then return to the briefing room with the rest of the doctors and scientists. They would discuss their findings and check in on the other test subjects. All of which concluded that Yusuke was a prime specimen and it'd be important to watch his development.
