- Brigands' Burrow Map:
A hideout in which that had been primarily hidden away from the outside world at large. At a first glance, one wouldn’t even know that it was there due to it being hidden within a cliffside somewhere within Rice Country. Currently, this manmade grotto acts as a base of operations for Katsuragi and Hiko. Uncovering this location though, awoken something within it, and since then many strange events have been known to take place. There was only one reasonable explanation behind it; it’s haunted by the souls of those who have died there. Currently, there are 2 known spirits which inhabit it, but who knows what other secrets lie deep within? Only 2 out of the 5 rooms, the entry way and the main hall, are given “public” access, and public is a term used loosely for that. Obviously, they don’t intend to have people who would try to crumble their plans in the area at all, but those things can’t be helped. However, the lucky few who reveal that they don’t mind doing dirty work may be invited into the hidden black market area which is kept under a tight lock and key. Even if this were to occur, either Hiko or Kat would remain in there to keep a close eye on said person or people.
OOC: Hello! Welcome to Brigands’ Burrow. A few quick notes, upon arrival, regardless of your character’s intentions, please contact either myself of Katsuragi through discord or PM one of us here on the site. Below, several plot lines are listed in which anyone can gladly join in on; whether it would be with us or against us. Feel free to message either of us if you’d like to add another plot to the list. If your character isn’t a part of the group, please post your arrival in the entryway first, and then you are free to further progress to the main hall. The other 3 rooms within the hideout are, and remain, locked at all times so access to them would require breaking the walls/doors down. Characters who receive an invite to join their gang may come and go without having to post in the entryway first, but the 3 rooms are still locked off to them unless given IC or OOC permissions. This page will also be updated frequently as things proceed to develop. Besides that, have fun and remember, things that are said in character don’t reflect how we feel out of character so please don’t take anything to heart.
Hideout Areas:
- Entry Way:
- Entry Way: The entrance to Brigand’s Burrow is a small, cave-like room. Not much is inside the room itself except for the door which leads to the hideout itself. Besides from that, there is a series of 3 boulders placed tightly together in front of this room to further camouflage it from the outside world. See the hideout defenses for a more in depth look at how these act as a defense.
- Main Hall:
- Main Hall: This room is used as the primary meeting space, and is lit up by a fire pit in the center of the room. Here is where any processing of people who come and go from the hideout may happen to sort through anyone who would attempt to bust their black market schemes; general meetings may happen in this room as well, whether it be for simple meetings to initiating more missing nin into their band of thieves. Four pillars form a square around the campfire, one in each of the ordinal directions (north-east, north-west, etc).
- Black Market:
- Black Market: Here is where Hiko and Katsarugi can store any of their stolen goods and general contraband. This room also acts as a place where they can further sell these items off. The entrance to which is hidden behind a sliding stone door which blends into the walls, and it can only be opened via a lever hidden within Hiko’s room. Various tables also are spread throughout the room in case they were to ever have an open market sometime.
- Hiko’s Room:
- Hiko’s Room: Hiko’s room is oftentimes off limits to most people unless he were to invite them in. This is due to paranoia of keeping the lever within the chest in his room secret and safeguarded. Besides that, it is dimly lit with torches, and nothing really spectacular.
- Katsuragi’s Room:
- Katsarugi’s Room: Kat’s room follows the same build and style of Hiko’s room, with the same general rule; off limits unless noted otherwise. There is one key difference though, as of right now at least, there is no lever within his room to access the black market area.
Hideout Size: Basic
Hideout Location: The exact location of it is along the Gaikotsu Bay, however someone would have to know what exactly they are looking for in order to find it. A riddle is oftentimes given by Hiko in character that hints at it’s whereabouts.
Hideout Defenses: 0/3
Hideout Vault: 0 Ryo
Hideout Profile: Low (changes when illegal activities happen, people discover it, or certain missions)
Black Market Inventory: None
Plot Lines:
The Akatsuki (actual name TBD): Hiko is starting up a group of like minded thieves, outcasts, miscreants, and other assorted criminals and outlaws to help enact a rather grand plan of taking over the 5 great nations. This however, is far from being able to be set into motion, things take time to brew. Luckily, Hiko can be patient with this and start off with smaller tasks first.
Smuggler's Den: Katsuragi on the other hand is heading up plans to set this up as a global black market, aiming to create a surge of fenced and illegal goods which can be flooded into the villages. These things are hard to come by though, and even harder to sneak into places with tight security protocols.
The Evil That Lingers in the Shadows: A malevolence reverberates off the very foundations of the caverns within. Something ancient, something eldritch and evil lurks here. What it is, is unknown. It's presence at this time is still small, but can drive those with a weak mind to the brink of insanity.
- Known History/Background Info::
- About a hundred or so years ago, a group of 5 or so smugglers had created this cave to use as their very own little castaway along the bayside. The group wasn’t really that well known, but it was clear that the cave had been purposely dug out and shaped into some form of base. Over the span of the next year though, strange things started to happen to this group. Things would mysteriously go missing, leading paranoia amongst the 5 members; each blaming someone else for the lost items. Then, within a day, the goods in question would usually turn back up again. Eventually, things began to escalate, and fast at that too. Starting with the death of one of them, crushed by a rock which had fallen somehow in the entryway at the time. After this, the four, one by one were slowly all brought to the doors of death until only one remained. The only other death which is known about is the second, who died of fire within what is now the Main Hall. The other 3 were said to have just mysteriously vanished. People say that one of these members was also seen the one day, rambling on like a madman, digging within the rice paddies. Clawing at the fields until his very fingernails had begun to fall off, going on and on about how he had to rescue her.
