A quick fishing trip

Hayato was having a lazy morning. He was simply roaming around the village's out skirts when he noticed a peculiar amount of fishing boats around. After asking a young fisherman what was going he was informed of the deep see fishing event going on in Tanbo. The boy was even encouraged to try and given a fishing rod with which to do so. He wasn't really one for fishing he understood that it was necessary to continue the circle of life. He did in fact raise a few chickens, but he saw them more as pets than food. It felt wrong to remove the fish from their home land and kill them just for sustenance. The rice is enough for me really... Still, He had heard of a fishing even happening and headed out into the bay of the rice country to give it his best shot. Armed with only a plain kimono, a fishing rod, and a few worms retrieved from the earth the young Yuki would cast his line along the shore and see what would bite. I hope I don't really catch much... I didn't want to offend the lad.... Hayato was caught in thought as he waited and watched his line move with the ocean currents. The movement was gentle almost serene he was starting to understand why the people enjoyed fishing. Suddenly the line moved erratically. It was strange. A bite!!??? Hayato wasn't sure what to do in this situation, but he gave it his best attempt pulling back on the rod hoping the metal hook would set into whatever he was catching.

Hayato pulled with all his might, but not too much might. The rod was made of just some old twig and some wire. His speed was superior to the fish he had now hooked successfully. The fish would fight attempting to pull the boy into the ocean depths. Hayato could feel it diving deeper and deeper. Fish are much more capable than I thought! The creature understood it's best strategy was to snap the wire tethering it to it's captor. Or maybe this is the instinct of the living to avoid pain and suffering? Hayato has been reading philosophy recently, but he shook his head now was not the time. If he let the fish do as it pleased to much all it's pain would have been for nothing. He let the rod have some slack until he realized the force was weaker than before this was when he used the reel to pull the line back towards the shore. It was a hard task. He did not envy fisherman in the slightest. Despite the hardships though, Hayato had managed to pull the fish all the way to shore. The dance was long and hard, but he had finally done it. As He ripped the fish from the depths it leap forth from the water revealing it's true form to all those around to witness it's emergence. Hayato basked in the fishes shadow as it covered the sun. Would this be the fish to end all fish or simply a tiny dud? 

It turned out to be a rather decent sized fish but nothing to crazy Hayato thought it looked neat with it's jeweled design and decided to take it to the weight station regardless of it's weight. The fisherman seemed suprised as he carried it to the station calling it a rarity. The Sapphire fish or something like that? Oh well perhaps I'll return it to the sea in a moment then...
