Re: Focus on the basics [Training/Open]

They were excited too, even if they didn't quite show it. They nodded and watched him do the handseals. At that slow pace they could see it and memorize it even without improving their eyes – and it'd take a while to improve their eyes enough to copy things just by seeing them. At the pace Kaito was going, though, they could learn it well enough without that. They watched as the log shaped itself into a replica of Kaito. They knew the theory of the technique well enough, but seeing it was always fun. And it'd help them learn to use it themselves.
They watched as he threw a kunai at the substitution, which turned back into a log. They smiled a bit, nodding. They could see how it could be quite useful. And then, of course, there was the clone technique. Mere illusions rather than physical things, but they could still be useful. At the very least, at a distance they could fool someone as to how many enemies there were.
They nodded, definitely wanting to show that they had learned something today. And they wanted to see these techniques as well. They observed as he turned into a near perfect duplicate of them, though there were some imperfections of course. The deep voice was hardly fitting for such an androgynous appearance, but they assumed it'd do well enough in some situations. And then there were probably things that built on it.
They followed Kaito, glancing at the water before looking back at Kaito. They figured he might start with a tree, which was often simpler, but then it wouldn't be challenging. They glanced at his feet as the chakra pooled, watching as he stepped out into the water. They looked at the Ryo, nodding again. That sounded good. All they had to do was do all of those techniques. They were certain they could manage.
First, they went toward the same log from earlier, rolling it closer to the water. Then, they performed the same handseals he had earlier, "Tiger" -> "Boar" -> "Ox" -> "Dog" -> and "Snake", though at a more normal pace rather than slowing down. They were the one learning here after all. The log became a near-perfect replica of themselves, and then they gave it a regular old roundhouse kick, not going too fast or hard, figuring that it'd still feel like they just kicked a log once it went 'poof'.
Then, with the log going back to being a log, they quickly formed the 'ram' seal, though they kept it simple and only made one duplicate upon expanding their chakra outward. They waved their hand around through the clone's head before disappating it with the same seal.
Next up, was of course, the transformation technique. They made the 'dog' seal before expanding their chakra outward just around them. They had looked at Kaito for a while, they were sure they could do it. What came out wasn't quite perfect either – they still had their own red eyes rather than Kaito's, though at least the shade was somewhere between the two, and their hair was longer. Clothes, at least, they got right, along with the markings. They let this technique go too, as keeping it up would only drain them more, and they needed to be in full control of their chakra for the next part.
They knew the theory of surface walking and tree climbing as well. It needed to be just the right amount of chakra. Too little, and it'd have no effect. Too much and… well, they weren't quite sure what'd happen in the case of water. They knew it'd damage a tree and make them bounce off though. Still, it was definitely doable. They had practiced controlling their chakra before. They let their chakra cover the bottom of their feet, swirling softly in all directions under their weight, just enough before they stepped forward onto the water.
Then they carefully kept stepping forward, until soon enough they reached Kaito. They smiled. "I'm learning quickly today."

Kaito watched on intently as Kiyoharu would demonstrate each and every technique he had shown them almost perfectly. He would nod approvingly with each and every success, but what really impressed the Inuzuka was the Uchiha's use of the "Transformation Technique".
Kiyoharu had decided to take on Kaito's appearance for the demonstration, and while there were a few inconsistencies, it looked good overall and could easily pass against someone who didn't know what Kaito directly looked like. Next came the "Water Walking/Tree Climbing Technique". This is normally where Kaito would expect an academy student, or even some Genin, to fail on their first attempt, but as Kaito reached outward with his advanced Sensory capabilities, he could really tell that there was something… different about this kid.
'Does this level of Chakra control come naturally for those of Uchiha heritage?' He asked himself, also looking back to his training session and spar with Uchiha, Hinoishi. No sooner had Kaito taught that boy how to use Earth-Style techniques was he able to use the "Earth-Style: Toujinbo" technique; an A-Rank Jutsu. It had been impressive, sure, but what Kaito was impressed by was the fact that Hinoishi had been fresh out of the academy himself during that training session.
As Kaito mulled over his thoughts, Kiyoharu joined him on top of the water. Their voice brought Kaito back to his senses, almost making the boy lose the concentration of his own technique, but he managed to keep his own Chakra control in check.
"Good job, Kiyoharu." The Inuzuka praised with a smile as he placed a congratulatory hand upon their subordinate's shoulder and held out their other hand, in which was the 1,000 Ryō he had promised them. "You've done well thus far and you deserve this. Make sure to spend it wisely though."
Kaito would then begin to walk back to solid ground, motioning for Kiyoharu to join them as he talked on the way over to the bank.
"Now that you've got those four techniques under your belt, I'm going to move on to what they don't readily show you at the academy. There is one that I cannot demonstrate in practice, but a detailed explanation should suffice. I'll save that one for last." Once Kaito and Kiyoharu reach the mix of grass and sand that made up the village's ground again, Kaito would turn around and face their new friend. With the tilt of his head, he would flash them a smile, this one without question being genuine and from the bottom of his heart. He couldn't remember the last time that he had truly felt pleased with how his life was going, and he realized that teaching and training those around him were the few select moments in which he actually felt happy and detached from the burdens of the world around him.
Maybe the life of a teacher or sensei really was for him after all...
"Just let me know when you're ready and we will continue with the lesson. If you've got any questions regarding what we've already gone over then feel free to ask as well."

They did have some minor trouble on the way, their foot dipped slightly into the water, but they managed to get control back and keep moving. Perhaps some of it did come naturally from their heritage, but there was plenty of talent behind it as well. Until they passed their exam they weren't even allowed to learn anything but E-rank techniques, but once they did, there was a lot they could learn, certainly.
They took the 1,000 Ryō with a small smile, then followed him back to the shore. They were quite looking forward to these extra techniques, ones that weren't really shown at the academy. They flashed a smile back, theirs was genuine as well. This felt a lot like training with their older brother. If only Kaito was a Jounin, they'd be applying for his squad right after the examination. Though power wasn't solely measured in what titles one had. A genin still couldn't lead a squad, though. At least not officially. Or something.
They took a few moments to look inward and get an idea of their reserves. They were fine. They nodded. "I do have one… can the basic clones move at all? Other than that, I'm ready to continue." They did wonder if the substanceless clones could move around, or if they'd just stay where they were.

Once the duo reached the shoreline of the pond, Kiyoharu would ask Kaito if clones created via the "Clone Technique" were able to move of their own free will. He had to think about this for a moment, but he would simply shake his head from side to side.
"From what little experience of using the technique, and from how it reads in the Jutsu Encyclopedia, I don't believe that they are able to move on their own free will. They are more so just projections that can be placed throughout a battlefield, meant to disclose the locations of opponents on the battlefield and to possibly discern what techniques or tricks they may have up their sleeves. Good question, though."
Kaito would take the liberty of removing his own copy of the Jutsu Encyclopedia from his item pouch and shuffling through it until he found the section that detailed E-Rank techniques.
"Ah! Here we go." He said, pointing at three techniques in particular. "So these three techniques here, the "Fear Pull", "Genjutsu: Release", and "Fuinjutsu Breaking", are ones that I cannot readily demonstrate as there are no active Fuinjutsu seals around nor can I project what I would see in a Genjutsu or what you would see. For those three a simple, yet detailed explanation will have to do." Kaito would pause for a moment, handing Kiyoharu the book of techniques before continuing.
"For starters, the "Fuinjutsu Breaking" technique allows you to break existing Fuinjutsu seals. Those seals can be as simple as a sealing formula on a door to even a seal on the human body. The breaking of the seal must be done via directly touching your middle and index fingers to the seal itself, and as long as the Chakra that you put into the technique itself is stronger than the Chakra that was put into the seal, it can be broken seamlessly." As before, Kaito would allow Kiyoharu a moment to digest the information before continuing. "The next two techniques on our list are the "Genjutsu: Release" and "Fear Pull" techniques. As their names suggest, they are both of the Genjutsu discipline and thus play an effect on your own mind on your opponent's mind. "Fear Pull" actually allows you to delve into a target's mind to find out one of their deepest, greatest fears. By doing that, you can use the knowledge of that fear to aid you in battle, whether it be via other Genjutsu or by other means. Now the "Genjutsu: Release" technique allows you to break any active Genjutsu that you are caught in. You must first be able to discern that you are actually trapped within a Genjutsu before being able to utilize the ability, and should you be then the amount of Chakra that you put into it must be higher than the amount of Chakra that your opponent put into the Genjutsu itself. Otherwise, the release will not work and you will have to wait out the effects of the Genjutsu." Kaito would pause for a brief moment, looking Kiyoharu directly in the eyes in a rather serious way. "Out of all of the techniques I'm teaching you today, I recommend you master that one as quickly as possible. There are many techniques out there, such as my "Jashingan: Hellscape" technique, that feed off of fear. I will not put you through the hell that is that particular Jutsu, but keep in mind that if you were to be subjected to it, and should you stay in it for too long, it would quite literally cause you to pass out from fear."
Kaito would then, as before, allow Kiyoharu to take in what knowledge he had passed onto them. He hoped that he had not scared them too much with the explanation of how his "Jashingan: Hellscape" technique worked, but it was a reality that they would need to face sooner rather than later.
The world of shinobi was a dark place with even darker people. In order to survive, one would have to adapt. And that is what helped to keep the Inuzuka alive for the past eight months since having become a Genin himself.
"Any questions regarding those three particular techniques before we move onto the last bit of training for today?"

They nodded at the explanation. So the basic ones were indeed mostly for brief tricks and learning information on the battlefield. They watched as he pulled out a book. Those three indeed sounded like they wouldn't really be able to simply be demonstrated. Once handed the book, they looked over it, making sure to find the three techniques he was talking about and read each of them as they listened to him speak, glancing up on occasion to make sure he knew they were paying attention.
They met his eyes when he looked them directly in the eyes, nodding in understanding. Genjutsu could indeed be quite a problem. Particularly one that could cause them to pass out from fear. An unconcious person in a fight might as well be dead, as they had no way to defend themselves. They weren't scared by the mere explanation of his technique. It just made sure they knew how serious he was about learning Genjutsu Release.
They shook their head. "No questions." They said. They wanted to get to that last bit of training. There were just two more to learn now, it seemed.

Re: Focus on the basics [Training/Open]

As Kiyoharu would have no further questions at this time, Kaito would continue to the last part of their training; another physical demonstration.
"Sounds good." He said simply. "Now, flip over two pages to where the "Cat Eyes", "Emotions On Your Sleeve", and "Basic Medical Ninjutsu" techniques are listed."
Once Kiyoharu did this, Kaito would raise his pointer finger up into the air and begin to pace back and forth.
"Now, these last three techniques can really come in handy for anything that may await you on the battlefield. That goes more so for the "Cat Eyes" and "Basic Medical Ninjutsu" techniques, but "Emotions On Your Sleeve" is also a rather nice addition. Watch and you'll see what I mean..."
Kaito would stop pacing and close his eyes for a moment, his arms crossed against his chest. He would allow his anger to overcome him; the anger from having lost his parents; the anger from losing his match in the Exams against Raiden. It would all boil to a point within him, and once it did, he would uncross his arms and punch his dominant right hand into his open left palm. A black, ominous Chakra would begin to swirl around him like a furious vortex as his hair stood on end. The color of his hair and his eyes would change to that of a pitch-black color, contrasting the brown and green that they normally were. This Chakra rose high above him behind his back. It continued to rise, fall, and move around erratically until it finally took the shape of a black, demon-like dog with piercing red eyes about a meter above Kaito's head. It growled deeply and ominously, snapping its fangs almost uncontrollably as though it was ready to devour anything within its grasp.
As it stood now, this was the form that Kaito's tainted Chakra took internally; a demon dog howling from within the shadows.
- The Demon Howling Within The Shadows:
Kaito would allow himself to keep this form for a moment before dispersing the Chakra that surrounded him into nothingness and returning his features back to normal.
"That, my young apprentice, is the "Emotions On Your Sleeve" technique. It does not see much use in combat, but it can be used to show those around you that you are not playing around. Next, however, we will focus on the "Cat Eyes" technique. For a basic technique, it really is useful on the battlefield. You can use it to see through just about any darkness, even Chakra-enhanced darkness if your use of the technique itself is powerful enough." The Inuzuka would motion for Kiyoharu to follow him into a thicket of trees that allowed barely any sunlight to pass through it. It was very contrasted to how the training grounds normally were in the open spaces, and it would be the perfect place to demonstrate the second to last technique that Kaito had to show.
"Take in the darkness of this small forest for a moment. Allow yourself to lose yourself in it visually. Then, with your eyes closed, perform the "Tiger" hand seal and pool some Chakra into your eyes. Once your feel that Chakra harmonizing with your visual senses, open them." Kaito would take the book from Kiyoharu's hands so that they could use the seals and proceed to wait for them to perform the "Tiger" seal and open their eyes again. If they had done it correctly, they should now have little to no trouble seeing through the thicket perfectly. It would almost appear as though masses of sunlight were breaking through the tree leaves above.
Once the Uchiha gave some sort of confirmation to whether it worked or not, Kaito would nod and motion for them to follow him back out into the open. As he did so, he would draw from his item pouch another kunai. Upon stepping back out into the open, he would turn to face Kiyoharu and drive the kunai lightly across his hand. Not too deep, but enough to draw some blood.
"Oh no!" He exclaimed, trying to put a bit of a show on for the young Uchiha. "Your comrade has been injured in battle. They can't use their hands to heal themselves, so you'll need to help them with it so that you two can continue with the mission at hand." He would wave his hand a bit and chuckle, realizing that he had made a rather bad pun. "Hurry and form the "Boar" seal, then pool your Chakra into both of your hands and place them above the wound. If you do it correctly then a green aura will appear underneath your palms and your comrade's possibly career-ending injury will be healed."
Kaito hoped that the bit of interactivness that he put into the demonstration of the "Basic Medical Ninjutsu" technique would not be a warrant for disgust or bother for Kiyoharu, but it was a necessity. On the battlefield, there would be many distractions, be it from friend or foe or event those that a medic was trying to heal. They would need to be able to overcome these distractions and drama in order to perform their duties as healers quickly and efficiently should they want to have hope of winning in battle.

They nodded again and then flipped two pages over to read the three techniques that remained to learn. Not two, but three. They had forgotten about one of them briefly. They watched as he demonstrated the 'emotions on your sleeve' technique, which did seem rather interesting. And at least a bit scary, in this case. Though they didn't let it show. Soon, Kaito was back to normal. It did seem useful for possibly defusing things before combat could start at least.
They followed Kaito into a thicket of trees, quite the contrast from the rest of the area, which was mostly open. It was quite dark there, so this did indeed seem right for the 'cat eyes' technique, as they had just read over the information of it. They nodded and glanced around the darkness for a bit, then closed their eyes. They made the 'tiger' seal and pooled a bit of chakra into their eyes. It didn't take too long for their chakra to harmonize with their visual senses, and they opened them up, blinking once. They could indeed see through the thicket perfectly. "It definitely works." They said, to confirm it for Kaito.
They followed him back out into the open. Thankfully the technique didn't also make one nearly blind in bright light, but they still allowed the chakra focused in their eyes return to their network, at least what wasn't used already. Then they watched as Kaito pulled a kunai out of his pouch, and presumably for the basic medical jutsu, cut himself across his hand. Just enough to draw blood. They certainly weren't squeamish about it. In their head, to match the show he was putting on, they imagined that the kunai had been thrown and just barely grazed his hand. Still, it was an injury that needed treating.
They chuckled a bit at the pun as well, before forming the 'boar' seal. They pooled chakra into both their hands, then placed them above the wound. It took a bit for them to manage, though not too long. A green aura appeared under their palms, and they managed to close the wound at least. On the battlefield, there would be much worse wounds, and distractions, and all of that. They needed to be able to overcome those distractions. That was part of the reason they were so stoic. That and there just seemed to be a genetic predisposition, or perhaps a cultural one, for Uchiha to be like that.
"You are a good teacher, at least in my view. Maybe you'll make Chuunin regardless of your match's outcome." They said, with a smile.

Kiyoharu seemed to grasp everything that Kaito had taught them with relative ease, which made Kaito proud. He could tell, yet again, that his generation of Ninja and the next were full of astounding individuals.
They would all surely lead the village into a very prosperous future.
As Kaito looked at his hand when the Uchiha had finished with their medical ninjutsu, he noticed that the would had been completely healed. Kiyoharu then stated that Kaito would make a good teacher, and was perhaps deserving of a promotion to Chūnin despite his loss in the second round of the exams.
He couldn't help but blush with a bit of embarrassment.
"So you saw that fight too, huh?" He asked with a light chuckle. "It really wasn't my best moment in the spotlight, but I thank you for believing in my abilities." Kaito would then give the young Uchiha a thumbs up and a grand smile. "Perhaps if I do make Chūnin, I just may be able to become your actual Sensei."
Becoming blinded a bit by the rays of the sun, Kaito would next look up to the skies above Sunagakure. They were a mixture of orange and purple, and the sun itself was beginning to fall beyond the horizon.
"Geez, it's this late already?" He asked nobody in particular, realizing that he had to make a run for home and feed Raidomaru. He would extend out his arm and a closed fist as an offer of a fistbump to Kiyoharu. "I really must be going, Kiyoharu, but it was a pleasure meeting you and training together." He would leave his fist extended for a few seconds, and whether Kiyoharu accepted the offer or not, afterward Kaito would begin to walk back towards the entrance of the training grounds. "I'll see you around sometime, my young apprentice."
And with that Kaito would make his way back home…

They were certain that each generation of ninja had plenty of astounding individuals. And hopefully they could help make the future brighter. They nodded, they had indeed seen that fight, but they smiled back. They did indeed believe in his abilities. And they did look forward to that possibility, him being their sensei.
It was already this late, surprisingly. The sun was slightly more blinding to their red eyes, but they didn't have any major problems with sunlight, despite how they looked. Things moved fast when one was having fun, they guessed. They bumped their fist against Kaito's, then nodded. "I should be going too. It was fun." With that, they walked towards the entrance too, though their way home was a bit different, so they'd end up parting sooner or later. A good day of training, all in all. They had learned even more techniques than required, and also had another person they could learn from now.

Training the following at 75% discount: Genjutsu Release, Basic Medical Ninjutsu, Emotions on your sleeve, Cat Eyes, Fear Pull, Fuinjutsu Breaking, Substitution Technique, Clone Technique, Transformation Technique, Tree Climbing/Surface Walking (any multi-rank is being taken at E-rank)
250 * 0.25 = 62.5. Round down to 62 (as told to by Kaito). 9 (the number of jutsu, excluding basic medical which has a base WC of 350) * 62 = 558.
350 * 0.25 = 87.5, round down to 87. 558+ 87 = 645.
2614 - 645 = 1969
Sharingan (First Tomoe) at 25% discount. 2000 * 0.75 = 1500.
1969 - 1500 = 469
Putting the remainder toward second tomoe.
Stats: 2614 / 100 = 26
Putting 15 in Chakra, 11 in vigor.
