Surf's Up! (Apollo, Baruga, and Saturn)

In an absolutely flawless segue, there was an insane man on the same beach as the event. Baruga couldn't help but glare at the man. Gods, what did it take to get good security around here? An act of the gods? No, because apparently, even the gods couldn't deign to hear the thoughts and prayers of every bloody organizer and staff member working on this event, not to mention the audience.

But alas, the gods may just smite her for spending her mental words complaining, so Baruga followed Saturn in approaching the man. It seemed that her fellow Kumogakure compatriot had taken the initiative and used some sort of mind-based ninjutsu on the man in order to determine the origin of his screaming. Baruga watched tentatively as Saturn's face grew more and more distressed, until it was to the point where he was clearly in horror.

Her mind started to analyze the situation. A fear genjutsu, perhaps? Anything substantially horrific would trend more towards the unrealistic, hence why she suspected an illusion. However, if something was real enough — real enough that it could happen to anyone on this beach, real enough to happen to you — then it was the sign either of an actually horrific event in reality, or a masterful genjutsu. Illusions, after all, were meant to distort false from real.

Once Saturn received the information, he pulled her aside (she's not certain when she became the de facto leader of Kumogakure's Genin Corps, but it's been happening recently) and whispered his findings. Luckily, information often traveled like a game of telephone, marred and bleached by whoever was relaying the data, but it was sufficiently horrific that Baruga's face went somewhat pale, even by Saturn's retelling.

Massaging the bridge of her nose as she formed a game plan, Baruga heard a call for all contestants, and realized that the award ceremony was probably on its way. Which meant that — most likely — she would be unavailable for the actual attendance of the insane man and his deliverance to the hospital. And Saturn already dismissed himself...

Baruga summoned a whale without handseals — Katsuyori, the crystalline narwhal — and directed her tone at the remaining two.

"They're likely announcing the winners. Since I'm fairly certain I have a good shot at it, I'll be heading there. Katsuyori here will grab this man with her mouth and transport him to the local hospital, which hopefully has a psychiatric ward. Do whatever you like — I'm not your keeper — but if you could help Katsuyori safely deliver him, then it would be appreciated."

With that, Baruga pressed her hand to Katsuyori's head, telepathically relayed the information she knew, and left. The narwhal in question would nod to the remaining two shinobi, waiting for their decision on what to do, before grabbing the man by the scruff of his ruined shirt like a cat, and floating in the general direction towards town.

Talk about a boorish way to end a great day...

Kota was feeling a bit panicked. He was not a doctor. At least he was not a good one. He could only curse at himself for not bothering to learn the basics of medical ninjutsu. His senses were still expanded so he was hyper aware of the world around him. It was a mental strain to try and follow everything that was going on. It would have been a lot harder if Kota was not used to multitasking. The blacksmith had to look after the flames, hammer rhythmically, and pay attention to the material timing as well as other stuff. Kota liked that one of the strongest things about him was his mind. That and his stellar personality. It was not his fault he was full of awesomeness that oozed out of his pores.

There did not look like a lot was wrong with the guy as far as he could see. He looked physically malnourished but that was as far as he could tell. The mental state was beyond him and it was not like the guy would be so out of it if he was sane. Kota was not paying attention to what the one called Saturn was doing. He did not view the man important enough to do so. The archer did not even have time to question the man about cheating in the competition before.

The saving grace was Baruga coming in with the whales. The archer was mostly impressed by her skill and willingness to help. Not that the others were being unhelpful. Even Kota would not be as helpful if he did not hit the man. The slight guilt was the main overlay to the reason that he was being helpful. Crazy was not his thing. He wished Hinoishi was here. That man was crazy on multiple levels. The two of them could have started a resonance of understanding.

“I will go with the whale to see about the man. Thank you Hikari. You do not have to come with me. You can at least see the end of the surfing competition.” Kota would get the man to the medical facility with the help of the whale, and maybe Hikari if she came along anyway. The archer was happy when the medic told him that the surfboard was not the source of the psychosis. When he found that out, Kota felt he was free to go. It was not like him staying around would be helpful to the situation.

The archer made his way back to the competition. He did not win it. The archer still wanted to collect his prizes. The archer was more of a runner up. The main one to win it was unsurprisingly Baruga. Kota did admit that she had the most skill and grace. The way her body moved among the waves was poetry in emotion. If Kota was not a full blown homosexual he would have wanted to hit on her. It was a bit of a shame that the only hot guy in the competition was himself. The archer collected his winnings and went about his merry way. After one last check on the hospital patient.
