Backstory: The Bloodline of the Zetsu Clan, Artificial Endurance, gifted its members with a strange body. Their malleable white flesh can be separated from their body yet continue to live. These cells, parasitic by nature, will latch on to any living organism with chakra to keep alive. This is one of the first things any Zetsu will learn, as mastery over this jutsu is required for many other jutsu developed by its members. Mastery over this jutsu has led those of the Zetsu clan to excel in information gathering and covert operations.
Appearance: This jutsu doesn’t have an appearance. The cells are so microscopic that they are nearly undetectable. If one were to use an ability to see chakra, cells on the user's body would look like a location with concentrated chakra. In contrast, any cells currently away from the body would appear as a small amount of chakra with a thin chakra string stretching back to the user’s body.

What it does:
As Zetsu clan member first learns to use their ability to control their cells, they discover they can separate cells from their body without killing them. The cells that have been separated must remain extremely close to the user as their chakra is sustaining them.
As the jutsu progresses, more control over the cells is obtained, allowing the user to keep the cells alive further from themself. With each successive rank, the user can be further from the cells while keeping them alive. The user can not manipulate and move the cells with this jutsu, but they can leave the cells in place and move from them. Additionally, other jutsu may be used to manipulate the cells they have produced to interact with them.
Once the cells have been separated from the user’s body, the cells can be placed on another living being that produces chakra. These cells immediately latch on to the new host, using their chakra to survive. The chakra cost for the new host is negligible as sustaining the cells takes an imperceptible amount of chakra. The cells now attached to a new host share the host's chakra signature and are nearly impossible to detect. This does not remain true when the user actively interacts with the cells.
The user can place cells on a limited number of people based on their rank. If a user exceeds their capacity and places cells on a new host at max capacity, the first cells placed will die. They can, however remove cells from a specific host using another jutsu. In their dormant state, these cells do not affect the host at all but can be passively felt by the user if they are within range of the jutsu.
The user’s ability to detect hosts within the range increases as their ability with the jutsu grows. At first, the user is only able to feel that a host is within range, but they are unable to determine where or which host is nearby. As their skill grows, they first learn to identify which hosts are within range. (C-Rank) Next, they can pinpoint precisely where a host is within range. (A-Rank)

It should be noted that to use any Zetsu jutsu to interact with these cells requires this jutsu at the corresponding rank. User’s of this jutsu must keep a record of who they have placed cells on and in the correct order on their stats page. This includes NPCs as they do count toward total capacity.
