Chuunin Exam Ceremony Observation Topic (Musu)

As though fate had allowed it. Musu returned just a few days prior to the invitation of a new batch of chuunin. Genin that had completed the exams are were ready to become great leaders of the village. While they weren't the highest tier of ninja yet, they had proved their mettle in the field, and were now equipped to conduct even more dangerous and important tasks. Its a symbol of strength, loyalty and devotion to the village and their ninja craft.

It had been years since Musu had become a chuunin but he still remembered getting his flak jacket, now hanging up on the wall next to ceremonial certificate. Since there was nothing better to do, Musu would put on his robes, place his shinobi headband on his arm, and head to the new academy auditorium.

By the time that Musu arrived the crowd was already pretty dense: Citizens, ninja, family members, all peoples of the village gathered in the theatre to see the new chuunin that would make up the ranks of the Sunagakure Shinobi corps. While it was a good to see the new promotions and the colorful ninja that got them, Musu wasn't there for that, and his eyes were fixated something more important: his first glimpse of the new Kazekage. Musu knew very little of Guren and only met him once, albeit briefly, before he left, so he didn't know much of who he was or what his plans were. While this wasn't the time to meet the man personally, it was a chance to scope him out, and learn who Mizu's successor was as Kazekage.

Musu would find a seat near the back of the building, his gourd of sand being somewhat difficult to maneuver in tight spaces, and would rather let other people take the seats. After a little while longer the presentation would begin, the desk full of jackets, and the appearance of the Kazekage.

At first, Musu was taken aback by the presentation that Guren had planned. The previous Kage never went to such length, instead wishing to be more laid back with the affairs of the common villages. But Guren seemed... different, professional, like he wanted the position rather than was forced to take the role. Regardless, Musu would watch on as the ceremony commenced, and would clap as the ninja who got promotions were given their rewards.

As the genin would come up, he would focus his attention of each and every of them, looking to determine the chakra levels of the new ninjas, and surprised to learn of the potential of some of them; daiki in particular, who's signature was robust compared to many of the others. While he couldn't pinpoint any specifics at this time, considering the massive amount chakra condensed into the small area, he could sense something familiar about Gurens signature, but nothing he could put his finger then.

Then the time would come to reveal the new teams; when Soujis name was revealed to be a new leader, Musu's eyes would widen, as the last time Musu saw the boy, he had just entered the village a little over a year ago, and he clearly had made some growth. He would have to speak to him and catch up on what has happened since they last spoke, and of course what had happened to the former Kazekage.

But now wasn't the time for any of that, Musu would remain silent at the back, clap and cheer for the new chuunin, and remain respectful for the entire ceremony. If not stopped, once the festivities ended, Musu would walk out the way he walked in, and continue on with his day.

A knocking on the front door of Kaito's apartment is what had woken him up. It was still very early, as made evident by the fact that the sun was just starting to shine its light into the boy's bedroom from behind the window.

'Who's knocking so early?' Kaito asked himself as he fought himself awake and lumbered into the entrance hall. Opening the door, he was greeted by one of the village's many messenger shinobi. A look of outright confusion showed on the Uchiha's face, and the messenger shinobi took note of this.

"Good morning, Sir. Sorry to disturb you, but I have a special delivery." They shuffled through the satchel that hang across their torso and removed from it a letter stamped with the Sunagakure insignia. "Here you are, Kaito. It's from Lord Third himself." The messenger would then take his leave with a cheerful wave of his hand, probably to go deliver the rest of the morning mail.

Kaito closed the door behind him and walked into the living room. He sat down on the couch and opened the top of the letter with his long, well-kept claws. Removing the letter, he read it with haste and eagerness.

With a nod of his head, Kaito put the letter down upon the coffee table before him.

While he didn't make the final cut for Chunin, he would still be more than pleased to join in the festivities of participating in the ceremony and being able to officially congratulate those who did make the cut. Looking at the clock on the wall, however, he realized that it was still only 8:30 AM.

'I'll just fall asleep for a bit longer before I wake up and get ready...'

[8 HOURS LATER...]

Kaito entered the auditorium of the New Academy at around 4:30 PM. It was still a whole thirty minutes before the start of the ceremony, but he could see that the chairs in the audience section were already starting to fill up to almost max capacity.

He looked into the sea of people as he made his way up to the stage, looking out for his parents, but of course, they weren't going to be there. How could they be? It had always been a dream of his to have his parents by his side during each and every step that he took in his career as a shinobi, but it just couldn't be.

Shaking the thought from his head, he made his way behind the curtain that separated the stage from the rest of the auditorium and made his way to his seat. He could see the Kazekage standing at the podium, now adorned in the Kage's green and white hat with the "Wind" insignia endowed upon it. Kaito nodded the man a smile before taking his own seat upon the stage. It was a bit awkward for him, this being only the second time in his life that he had ever worn a formal kimono and traditional wooden sandals. Typically he would wear a haori with the Inuzuka Clan's symbol emblazoned upon the back, but he felt it would be a bit awkward wearing it with his whole Uchiha identity crisis being in full swing. Despite all of this, he did know his identity as a Sunagakure shinobi, and to represent this, he respectfully and proudly wore his village headband upon his forehead with the Sunagakure insignia being front and center for all to see.

Once seated, he would wait for the other exam participants to arrive and for the ceremony to begin...

Once the festivities completed, Musu quietly escaped the crowded hall and returned to his home.

The grand ceremony went off without a hitch.

Kaito couldn't help but be brought to tears with how proud he was of his fellow Genin, who had all given these exams their best. He was especially proud of Raiden and Karo, who were the only two officially promoted to the rank of Chūnin. And then there was his friend Yusuke, and while the boy was not promoted to Chūnin like Raiden and Karo, he would instead be working under the tutelage of one of the more respectable Jonin in the village; Sebastian Mikaelson.

'Congratulations, you three...' He said to himself, not wanting to interrupt the festivities.

After the promotees were announced, Lord Third Kazekage would sidestep to the next announcement; the new team structure of the village. The Uchiha's eyes lit up at this revelation. The entirety of his career had been spent partaking in missions either single-handedly or in shabbily put together groups of other Genin.

'It's finally happening!'

Going down the list, Guren would come to Team 2. It would be under the direction of a persona named Kushimaru, who Kaito had never met before, and the team would consist of himself, Travin Wraith, and Takumashi Senju. In the same regard as Kushimaru, Kaito had never met the other two Genin he was paired with, and he could only hope for the best and that they would all get along swimmingly.

With the teams having been announced and the Third Kazekage stepping down from the podium, Kaito would rise from his chair when the time felt right and bow. He then turned towards the Kazekage, bowed again, and exited the stage to mingle amongst his peers and the other villagers. After a while, the young Uchiha would make his exit from the ceremony and head back towards home to get himself changed for some training.
