Raid on the Lord of Beans [Mission | C]

Kaden and Reina were returning to the small living room, in the small hut, in the middle of a forest.

There were few forests in this area, but they had chosen this one for a base of operations. The forests are out of the way. They were remote without actually being remote. Reina help a piece of parchment, that she and Kaden had been looking over in the other room.

"So," Reina started, "we think there is a stash of money" Kaden dropped a finger onto the map "...here". As Kaden lifted his finder, an "X" on the spot became obvious.

Benjamin was not sure if that had been there before.

"I take it the money belongs to 'Lord Luther Lexus'?" Ben asked, stating what was quite probably obvious, but would be good to make certain of.

"Yep," Kaden replied. The reply was short, but not curt.

"When do we leave?" Ben asked.

Kaden and Reina looked to each other, nodded, and then looked to Ben. Reina simply replied "Now."

The sun had been down for almost two hours now. Kaden was faster than Ben could keep up with, but he did not run at max speed for the purpose of Reina, too. While the forest was small, it stretched out one direction for around a mile in the long way. The duo, and Ben, ran through the forest as long as they could. As they approached the end, it was Kaden who drew ahead and stopped to check. Reina and Ben both stood, waiting, until Kaden signaled the all clear.

They had all worn black, or rather, very dark green, to this. Ben was somewhat mish mashed collection of clothing, but the other two seemed prepared for these things. Ben's clothing was... a dark green pantsuit, a dark green cut off tea shirt, and a not insifnificant amount of dark green paint.

It really did itch.

Luckily the paint was on various other clothing items but... it was still uncomfortable. Though far better than the feeling would be had his skin been directly painted. That likely would not have gone well.

The moon stood on top of the midnight sky as stars began to appear from a distance, each one a different size to another; the breeze of the night was chill. Isshiro stood on top of a large tree that stood on top of the forest, the branches were large and the leaves created bushes of how many and large they we're compare to the other trees. Isshiro leaned on the tree as he looked at the village that he was once a prisoner along side others and a female named Reina. His arms were cross as he awaited to act but he was in his mind momentarily as he was remembering the plan that Reina told him about lord Luther Lexus; for what he could remember was that she was heading towards his location at night to steal some goods but she was going to be accompanied by two friends of hers. 

Isshiro continue to watch at the gates and at the building that Lord Luther was holding these valuables at. Looking at the night sky; his hazel eyes pierce through his white hair that somewhat covered his eye sight, at the moon; the bright yellow light it shine upon the earth was like his will of fire at the moment dwindling but maybe today that passion will ignite if he when for this valuables that Reina spoke about. Isshiro looked back at the village as from the corner of his eyes he noticed movement but from the darkness it was hard to notice, isshiro saw movement at foot level. 

Isshiro looked back at the village then back towards the forest, the shadow of a man could be seen as he seemed to be scouting. He looked suspicious a bit but that was not of importance at the moment; Isshiro wondered momentarily if he should make his presence known to the stranger but he choose not to instead Isshiro walked a bit forwards from the large tree branch then crouched keeping himself less likely to be noticed but not impossible, specially if the stranger was a sensory shinobi. Isshiro was wearing a black cloak on top of his regular clothing, making sure that he was nearly unspotable; a few of his white clothing was showing but not enough to give his location away. "What are you up too?" Isshiro said to himself mentally, pulling his Naginata from his back and prompting it on his shoulder.

It was slightly after the trio had left the forest that Ben noticed it. His chakra was suppressed, but... someone else's was not.

Ben kept running as planned. Kaden and Reina had drilled that into him. If there were unexpected issues, do not physically react.

They were keeping idle chatter going. Kaden and Reina mainly, Ben was,,, not up to it. As far as he knew, most of what they said was NOT coded messages, but rather just normal conversation. Every now and then, however, Ben would pick up little tidbits that he had been taught. "Keep left" was something related to "pass the salt" (the two were spending most of the conversation talking about holiday dinners with friends and family, though Ben was unsure if this was actual things that had happened, or something they were improving on the fly). Ben took a moment to get back into the conversation and then asked a question of them. "Did anyone catch a peak of that dessert though? I think I saw it through the left door."

That was a hint that Ben had noticed someone to their left. That he only thought he had seen it was also code: he had sensed the person, but not visually identified them.

Keina would glance in the direction without turning her head, and respond back, "Can't say I did! Did it look good?" More code, of course. Keina was unable to visually identify the person either. It was too dark, or they were too far.

"Darn, it looked good. Didn't come out with for dinner, so I am just wondering if they held out on us." Ben said this all, trying to track the code phrases, and not mess them up. It looked good - good meant the threat level was maybe medium from chakra sense alone, possibly lower. If it had looked amazing, the team may be aborting right this instant. That it didn't come out with dinner meant that the target had not yet moved. Wondering if they held out on us meant something more akin to uncertain their purpose. No obvious signs of aggression, or even that the person noticed. The trio would be too far to notice the unknown ninja pulling out a sword. Their knowledge of that would depend first upon the person drawing closer.

The breeze got a bit more intense as a strong wind spawned out of no where, this was a good enough distraction from noise, not hesitating for a moment Isshiro made his moved as he jumped from the large tree branch onto the ledge of one of the side walls near the gate. Isshiro perform hand seals quick quickly; chakra began to bubble up as it ran through out his body then it all when to his feet. Once he landed on the ledge his feet took control sticking on them like a spider; the good thing is that is was night time so no one could see him unless someone was paying attention to him. He knew the guards were to preoccupied making sure that no one entered the village from the gates as well as protecting there treasure. Isshiro walked the wall for a few seconds as he infiltrated the walls; once he was on top of the wall, he notice two separate gaurd post.

One of the guards to the right was falling asleep as his head continue to sway up and down as his eyes open and close often. The leftside guardpost had a guard standing looking directly towards the main road and down at the guards on the gates; Isshiro was closes to the left side so taking out the awaken guard would be the most efficient way to not get caught. Isshiro started crouch walking towards the guard the closer he got the more he believed that the guard would notice him but he was a few steps away from him. Isshiro put away his naginata quietly as he took out his wakizashi and from behind grabbed the guard and slid his throat covering his mouth with his free hand then slowly laying the guard down so no one could hear the body drop.

Isshiro looked at the guard for a moment then peaked up to look around everything seemed fine at the moment, grabbing his black cloak he dropped in on top of the corps then jumped down from the wall into the village. Sneaking up on buildings like a spy or assassin; Isshiro began peaking corner of all the buildings he moved from. He was still far from the building containing the valuables and treasure; in the back of his mind he wondered if Reina was actually going to act on her plan or did she just said that to make him do her dirty work. Isshiro rolled his eyes at the thought then sigh as he was way to deep into this to turn back now.

Ben kept tabs on the person when they started moving, but they were moving... not towards the group. But rather, in about the same direction they were going? That was... strange. Stranger still was when the forest gave way to a road. Kaden also seemed confused. Based on where Ben and Kaden had thought everything was, the road was supposed to be around the far side of the building. But no, it was right there, in front of them. Which meant...

Which meant the unknown figure had been running directly for the encampment they were trying to raid.

It hit Ben like a bag of bricks, but before he could say anything, Reina shouted out "These two!" before running and disappeared into the forest.

Ben and Kaden both looked up the road, seeing the compound. MUCH closer than either had thought it would be.

Soon, a number of personnel were running out of the building and guard houses, carrying various blunt weapons to try and attack the duo.

Ben was... exceedingly conflicted. He had just been betrayed but also... these people were not ninja. Not at all. They were just normal people.

As two came up to him, Ben simply flipped one, grabbing them by the arm, and depositing them on the ground. The others seemed to pause in their steps, and some even began running back.

A man stepped out from one of the guard houses. Upon his forehead was a band, it showed the symbol of Hoshigakure, but with a slash through it. He took three steps forwards, chuckling...


And then his expression changed. One of pain, shock. He fell, seemingly slipping forwards.

Off of the blade that Reina had just stabbed him with.

Ben was still unsure what exactly was happening, but his best guess now was a double double cross.

It took maybe five more minutes to clear out the area. In that time, Kaden apologized to Ben for not letting him in on the act. The explanation was simple: Ben was strong, but unskilled, and probably a pretty bad actor. Reina stepped ahead to go meet up with Nisshoku, which, unbeknownst to Ben, she had assumed would be the unknown/unidentified figure from earlier. With the majority of the guards on the outside as part of Reina's bait, clearing the inside would be a trivial task for the two ninja. Ben and Kaden would follow behind shortly, prepared for the next task.

Isshiro continued to move around the shadows of the village, scanning throughout the buildings as he tried to see away to entered the building that has all the treasures. But as he tried making a plan the guards from the front and from the inside all rushed out; Isshiro sneak a bit into the open as he looked at the guards leaving the gates in a battle rush. Isshiro wondered what this could be about for a second nothing came to mind but the more he tried to remember or think about what could they possibly be attacking his thoughts came back to the moving bushes he saw earlier the the man he spotted earlier. He wondered if he got caught but this wasn't the time to think about other but to steal the treasure for himself. Maybe the man was the perfect distraction for him to entered unnoticed. 

Isshiro left from the shadows and began walking directly towards towards the building but from the corner of his eye he noticed a shadow moving towards his direction. Isshiro turn towards the shadow reaching for his wakizashi with his other hand, but then he stopped just gripping the weapon as from the entrance and the shadows a woman made her way towards him she seemed familiar to him like he's seen her before and not in a good place; as she closed in he noticed that he did know her at least he remembered her face and name " Reina? So you did come after all to take the lord treasure..." Isshiro said a bit surprised but not shocked at seeing her. He turn his head towards the building as he then turn towards Reina as he then looked behind her and notice two other individuals making there way towards them. 

"Well you did come with pack up then, good I'm going to try and enter from the top. There should be a back entrance I don't think the front door would be the greatest way to make our way inside" Isshiro said await her response afterwards he would look at the two other individuals as they came closer as he nodded towards them his white hair covering one eyes while his other hazel eye looked at them, with his mask on that covered his mouth and neck. He turn towards the building and dissappear heading towards the side then climbing it by channeling chakra into his feet then scaling the building until reaching the top. On the roof now he looked around, this place wasn't as large as the lower half almost like the structure was made on top of the lower part but that wasn't important there were two entrances he could take a chimney and a door on the ground. Isshiro thought for a second as he figured the door would alarm anyone inside more than him coming down the chimney.

Reina walked up to join Isshiro. "No worries," she said to Isshiro. After a moment of grabbing something from her belt buckle clips, Reina raised a key to.... the front door. The raid on this building was planned in multiple ways. The money from the hidden cash she had dug through was nice, but the big win was the key to the mansion. "We go in the front door. They'll never expected it."

They expected it.

As Reina pulled open the door, a bolt was shot out the seam in the heavy wooden door. It was not aimed at anyone, just at the whole in the door. The vision of those inside would have to adjust to make sense of the figures outside but... it would take time. For now, those outside the doors would have a far easier time looking at those inside.

In a different section of the town slash compound thing, Ben and Kaden were clearing out the last remaining dregs. If there were stronger, ninja-y-er guards, they would be within the mansion proper. At least everyone that remained out here, after Reina's little play, was easy to deal with.

Speaking of the mansion proper... a crossbow bolt flew past Ben's head. It was not that close, exactly, But it was enough to re-contextualize the situation, that there still were threads, and Reina, and the mystery person, were likely engaging them soon, it not already engaged.

Kaden shot off ahead after a confirmatory nod from Ben, and Ben followed along after.

Isshiro looked down the chimney as it took him down all the way towards the first floor; Isshiro landed on the cemented floor, he looked front inside the chimney at thearge room in front of him. The lights were off and it was dark after all so everything was a bit more mischievous, Isshiro poked his head out the chimney as he looked around, towards his left was two large bookshelf beside another with severel books inside, in front of the bookshelf was a large table that took majority of the length of the room with papers and maps, pens, ink, scrolls, and books. Towards his eight was two small tables on each end of the room that held plants on top, forward was a large hallway going parallel to the room. A picture of a man was hanging on the wall of the hallway the lights were on, Isshiro moved from the chimney towards the edge of the wall next to the hall. Isshiro felt a breeze coming from the right side of the building, he wondered if that was the entrance so he took a quick peak poking his head out a bit to look at the hallway, in front of him stood a door, opened with someone in front of the door. Isshiro figured that was Reina; Isshiro turned around and looked at the opponent side of the hallways and he saw a crossbow, isshiro jumped backwards for a moment he could have gotten his head blasted off. But as he continued to remember is that there was a wall behind the crossbow, maybe it was like a booby trap. He came to the conclusion that the crossbow was attached to a cord reached the front door and once someone pulled it, it could fire.

Isshiro peaked out again and as he predicted it was a crossbow booby trap. Isshiro looked towards Reina "Come inside, it was a booby trap. We can make a plan in this room before venturing ahead"

Reina was glad that, after Isshiro had disappeared, he reappeared from the inside stating that the bolt through the door was a simple booby trap.

Pretty dangerous one if you asked Reina, but not the end of the world. She would motion for the others to hurry up and join them inside the main room of the building. They would need to strategize where and how to continue from here. It would be... interesting.

Ben and Kaden came in to the building with Reina and the unknown individual, who Reina would introduce.

"Ben," she said pointing at Ben, "Kaden", this time pointing at Kaden, "Isshiro."

"Ben, how many people?" Kaden asked.

Ben needed to think a moment. He was technically good at this, 'gifted', as Reina had put it. But he was not used to actively paying attention to that sixth sense.

"Three above, none seem that amazing. Then..." Ben looked to the left. "Four more that way," he said, pointing, his face somewhat souring. "One is positively sparkling."

That was not code, Kaden had dropped it awhile ago, and Ben had followed suit. That was someone legitimately scary, and they were one floor up. "Someone also pretty mundane next to the shiny one."

"Likely our mark," Reina said. "Sorry, old habits. Likely the Lord." Isshiro might have understood that much, but Ben was new to this whole thing. It was likely he just did not have those sorts of words down. So she would make sure he was able to take part, even if that meant being a bit more pedestrian.

He was surprisingly fit for the task, at least.

Reina made her way into the building; behind her stood two individuals one named Ben and the other Kaden. Isshiro nodded as the introduction as he looked at both guys briefly; inspecting there features as well as there appearance. Isshiro sat down on top of the large table that stood in the center of the room. He crossed his arms as he returned his gage towards Reina "Well now that we are all inside might as well, come up with something; a plan would be our best strategy." Isshiro said looking around the room making small head movement while his eyes scanned the hall and the room simultaneously.

Kaden asked Ben to sense for anyone other than themselves inside the building. Isshiro watched Ben concentrate then speak spotting around 8 individuals. One of them was the lord of the land, as well as the man that imprisoned both Reina and himself. Isshiro stepped of the table as he took a peak at the hallway once again; from the corner of the hallway it extended pass the booby trap towards the left. Isshiro figured that walking directly through the hallway was just obvious but at the same time, he could use this as a distraction. Isshiro remembered the door on the top of the building, that doorway may have lead towards the back of the upper room.

Isshiro turned back towards the room again and looked at the bookshelf that stood towards the right of them, then towards the left hand side. He knew that the left shelf was hiding nothing since the wall lead towards the outside but the right shelf was inbetween the building some having a form of secret layer would be smart. Why would the lord keep his treasure with him at all time, that would only increase the danger and bounty on his head. "It wouldn't be out of the norm that he might have hidden his treasure someone where else in this place, instead of holding it at all times even with bodyguards that may or may not be stronger than us." Isshiro said as he began to pace back and forth, from the table towards the left shelf.

"Alright then, if anyone is opposed towards trying to find out of this shelf has a hidden room or we march straight forwards towards the hallway and I to the belly of the beast" Isshiro stated as he turn towards Reina, Ben, and Kaden.
