The Zukumiki Strike Again [Missions]
Sat Dec 03, 2022 8:05 pm
- Missions:
Emi was running towards an inn. Apparently there was a fight going on that involved ninja in some capacity.
Or at least people of above average power.
She had been informed of the goings on and asked what to do.
She had no fucking idea!
So she yelled to 'go tell someone, fuck!' while she started running there herself. She hoped like hell the person was not particularly powerful or dangerous.
She was really afraid of this possibly becoming another incident like the attacker that took Giichi.
But the fact that a messenger made it to her, to her desk, means it probably is not that bad. Probably some no name upstart thinking they're tough shit that won't last five minutes in an actual fight.
The inn itself fairly plain. There was a large dirt area in the middle. Emi could guess people would stand there at better times. Now, however, only one stood in that area. Emi could see a pile, a growing pile even, of broken glass against a distant wall. In the middle area was a single individual. Emi could guess his emotions, even though she only saw the back of his balding head. He looked enraged, but also horrified, and sad.
"BRING ME M- BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRP"
The man, who sat at a table next to the pile of broken glass, threw his current glass onto the pile.
"BRING ME ANOTHER!" he finished.
"No! Leave!" That was the man standing in the middle dirt area. Emi assumed he was the owner.
She walked into the area. The delinquent man was going to say something, until he saw Emi.
"Oh hey sexy thing, if you come sit with me, we can share a drink. His treat!"
Emi began to realize why her advisor was so against her wearing a tank top and jean shorts.
But that was neither here nor there. Right now, this guy needed to be subdued.
And biting her pride for just a minute, trying her best (but somewhat failing) to saunter her way over, she carefully removed her shoes before stepping up onto the tatami, walking over to the man, bending forwards right in front of him, playfully reaching for the top of his head...
And then slamming his head into the table before standing back up.
She desperately wanted to spit on him, but if she missed, it would get the tatami, and this place had enough to deal with already.

Re: The Zukumiki Strike Again [Missions]
Sat Dec 03, 2022 9:53 pm
Yashamaru had been given a mission to tail a member of the Zukumiki boys to see what they are doing inside the village, so this to give was a basic recon and surveillance mission.. well they did say to step in if anything got violent or out of hand but for the most part he could just follow him and see if he could figure out why he was here. From the moment the man had entered the village Yashamaru was already tailing him keeping tabs on him and watching where he was going and who he was talking with to find out any information at all, going from place to place Yashamaru went following slowly behind until they finally got to a Inn. The man entered and he followed after a few minutes, when he entered the building he took his shoes off at the door and started to make his way to the corner and sat down so he could keep an eye on the whole room. After a while all that was happening was the man was drinking and a lot of it but he was throwing the empty glass against a wall making a mess of glass and it was starting to pile up making the owner get annoyed at the man, The man sitting by the pile of glass yelled out "Bring me Another!" the owner said back "No! Leave!" he was standing in middle of the place in a dirt area.
When the door opened and in walked a young women blond hair that flowed down to her waist she was wearing a tank top and jean shorts and the drunk man noticed her, "Oh hey sexy thing, if you come sit with me, we can share a drink. His treat!" the girl took off her shoes and walked towards the man she bent forward Infront of the man playfully put her hand on the top of his head and them BAM! slammed his head right into the table before she stood back up she had a look of disdain on her face as if he was trash. With this Yashamaru slowly stood up and said "Okay Miss, ill take it from here" He said as he started to reach into his pocket to pull out his orders he was given earlier in the day to proof what he was to say next "Ill take him with me to lock him up, he has been on a watch list since he showed up in this village." With that said Yashamaru started to pull the man up and as he started to fight back a bit he Pulled his arm hard behind his back almost to touch his other shoulder and started to push him forward towards the door. "I'm sorry about the mess Owner, but if you shoot the bill of any damages to the Staff at the Police HQ I'm sure someone will pay for it." "Ill take him into the holding cells Miss" As he said that he started to make his way towards the exit of the building and then on to the Holding cells to hand the man over.
Getting to the holding cells he handed over his Orders and the Officers took the man away and now he played the waiting game to find out if anything was to be found out from the guy he brought in.

Re: The Zukumiki Strike Again [Missions]
Sun Dec 04, 2022 10:45 am
It boiled her blood. That someone had apparently been tasked with watching this fucker, and two things had happened.
One, the village was still disorganized enough that word had managed to reach HER with no mention that there was somebody already tailing them.
Two, that it had gotten to this point in the first place.
Emi tried to rationalize it. She did not know the whole story yet.
She was fuming, but she took a minute. Before engaging with the other person, before even looking towards them, she breathed.
And thought.
And breathed.
There was still a disorganization, a lack of communication.
Then she looked at the orders.
And sighed a most disdainful sigh.
He was being followed in an attempt to learn where the Zukumiki had holed up this time.
Of course the person wouldn't have intervened here. The guy was being a douche, and destroying property, yes. But he was not attacking people, or harming them. Uncomfortable? Yes. But that could be dealt with.
Emi wanted to scream, but she kept it in. Lack of communication between parts of her village had led HER to ruin a plot. If the aide who had come to the office has known about the tailing mission, then likely she would have been informed of both things. She would have suggested getting somebody in the vicinity for backup, maybe, if he got more violent, but otherwise just to get a word to the inn owner about recompense.
Then the other shinobi spoke up about police HQ.
Sure, they likely would, considering they had approved...
The paper said 'Yashamaru'
Considering the Police HQ had approved Yashamaru's mission, they likely would pay for it, but...
Emi sighed. They would fight tooth and nail to pay as little as possible. Certainly not try to cover the cost of drinks this fucker had inevitably racked up and likely had NO money to pay for.
"No, skip the Police HQ," Emi said, still not looking at them. Her arms were crossed and she was still felt with disdain for the man, but that had to not cloud her judgement. "Send a bill to the Castle. I'll have someone deal with it, cost of drinks and some lost patronage, too."
She turned around, though now the look on her face was one of exhaustion.
"Let's get him to a cell, Yashamaru."
"That rat bastard," Emi said under her breath. Her eye twitched as she looked at the 'bill' that the inn owner had sent over.
She slammed it to the desk and was about to yell for Kazuko when there was a knock on the door.
It was, in fact, Kazuko. Emi was stunned by the timing long enough for Kazuko to speak up.
"There is a report from Police HQ about the recently captured Zukumiki. Would you like to hear it?"
A pause, and them Emi said 'yes'.
Kazuko then read the report. It detailed that interrogations had failed, but there was a possibility of success for a different plan. An individual had come to see the captured man and, while there was no intel on him beforehand, it sounded like they were lovers, and it was very likely he was also a member of the Zukumiki. Perhaps the "original plan could be salvaged despite unnecessary interference from third parties."
Kazuko had been hesitant to read that last bit, but Emi had told her to go ahead.
Of course they would try to get a dig in. It was their fucking fault for not telling anyone about the mission they signed off on.
But Emi thought of something petty to get back at them.
"Thank you for the report, Kazuko. Can I ask you to do something while I go get a further update?"
"Certainly, madam."
Emi stood up and walked to the door.
"Pay this and bill Police HQ for as much of it as you can."
Kazuko looked it over for a few seconds before stammering out "B-But ma'am, this is so much! They would never pay an innkeeper-"
"They aren't paying the innkeeper. They are paying the village for their fuck up. Whatever you think is right for their failure to communicate the specifics and stakes of the mission."
Kazuko thought for a moment, and nodded. "For the Rice."
Emi paused walking out the door. That phrase still got her. It felt so... weird.
"For the Rice," she replied, hesitantly.
Emi found herself back at the police HQ where Yashamaru had taken the Zukumiki to. She kind of assumed he was still here, seeing as she wouldn't have (willingly...) let him follow her back to the office.
Heck, she had left before going inside because Emi KNEW someone would recognize her and greet her as 'Madam Komekage' or something and she just... she could not handle that right now.
So she had left before the Zukumiki was locked up. Now, however, she had to walk into the building.
Three. Three people greeted her like that. That led to more people looking her way, and finding out she was the current Komekage.
She forced a smile on her face.
It was obviously fake and forced.
But it was the best she could do.
She dropped the letter she had received on the desk. More slammed it, really, palm down. This time, though, her smile was NOT fake. The smile was, however, fueled by pure rage.
"I need to speak with someone about an ongoing case, specifically the one mentioned in this letter."
The lady at the front desk was visibly shaken by Emi's presentation.
She looked over the letter and replied, "Certainly, one moment, Madam Komekage."
Emi would have been screaming by this point but...
She held it in, and kept the smile, screaming only internally.
The woman disappeared into a room with the note and then... nothing. Five minutes. Ten minutes. Then, finally, a man opened the door and stuck his head out. "The lover mentioned? He's about to leave. If you want to join the tailing party, you better get to it!."
"That is NOT the primary thing I was here to-"
He was already gone, ducked back into the room, with the door shut.
The woman had yet to leave, either.
"AAAAARRGH!"
Emi stomped out of the police HQ. She knew where the visitor's entrance was, and would stake out a spot overlooking it to track the fucker from.

Re: The Zukumiki Strike Again [Missions]
Mon Dec 05, 2022 2:02 am
Having taken the man to the holding cells it was now his turn to wait to see if any information was taken from the suspect, with Yashamaru waiting he noticed the lady start to leave the vicinity he didn't need to follow her as his mission was still on the go for waiting on the information and to see if any of it was actually useful. During the interrogation Yashamaru walked outside to the market to get himself some lunch now that his part wasn't up just yet, So he went to the market to find himself some lunch from one of the stalls. Getting to the stalls he saw a few options but he ended up just choosing Onigiri and some Karage to eat while he waited, he was also thirsty because he couldn't drink at the bar as he would have needed his fine motor skills for if anything was to happen while he was on surveillance duty. Picking himself something to drink Yashamaru found himself a spot and sat down and started to eat his food, after he had finished his food he started to light up a cigarette and smoke that while he also drank his drink. Finishing his drink Yashamaru started to make his way back towards the Police HQ where the holding cells were, On his way he lit up another smoke and noticed a civilian man walking into the police HQ this in itself wasn't odd or suspicious but he looked familiar to him. He looked like someone he had seen earlier today with the Zukumiki Member he took away.
Finishing the smoke outside the station Yashamaru headed back inside the building and went in the back were he went to see the interrogator to ask him if any of the information was helpful or at all useful, from what the Interrogator said "No he didn't spill anything useful just kept going on about if he said anything he would be killed again and again, not even telling a name" Yashamaru sighed and thought to himself... the hard way hey? With that useless information given to him he was starting to make his way back into the holding cells when he was told the man he brought in had a guest. Yashamaru thought to himself it had to be the person he saw earlier enter ahead of him so he slowly made his way into the holding cells at the far end of the area on the other side of his captured man's cell, He could hear what was being said in hushed voices "Are you okay hon?" said the man to the one in the cell "Why did you come here? I don't need you in danger as well" he said as he was holding his head and shaking his head a little obviously still a bit groggy from all he had drunk and also his head getting smacked into the tabletop before being brought here. "I heard you were taken away, so I needed to know you were okay and to see if there was anything I could let the boss know" with that Yashamaru's ears pricked up and he tried to move a bit closer to see if any of the information that was said now would be useful, he couldn't hear what was being said other then bits and pieces "tell the boss.....okay?....you should go" with that the other man said "Okay hon ill do something about getting you out of here later but first Im off to the boss".
With the other man starting to make his way out of the holding cells Yashamaru was to wait a minute before he left where he was to make his move to follow, He started to make his way outside the cells and as he left he said to one of the guards "Has he left yet?" he replied "Yea just now, he only just made his way outside the building" With that Yashamaru exited the building and as he left he noticed the man in the distance making his way far the building and out towards the markets. Following the man Yashamaru was making sure to blend in with other civilians to make himself look inconspicuous and not out of place, The man moved from the market after buying some food and continued past buildings until he got towards what looked like a warehouse, he went to the door of the warehouse and knocked... the door opened and a man looked out noticed it was the a member of the Zukumiki and handed him a letter before shutting the door. Taking the letter the guy left the building and continued his travels further and further thru the village before he got to this time what looked like a two story building that looked abandoned and almost about to fall apart, he walked towards the back of the building and Yashamaru heard some rattling then some stuff was moved. By the time Yashamaru got to the side of the building he noticed what looked like a hole in the wall was made by moving some box's and crates as well as some wall planks. With this he waited for awhile outside of the building to see if the man was going to come outside anytime soon but after 10-20 minutes of waiting he thought to himself "must be the place or at least i hope so" he slowly made his way to the opened area and peered in.... he couldn't see much just an abandoned building with glass, parts of the roof and parts of the wall on the floors, Yashamaru couldn't feel any chakra in his vicinity so he slowly moved into the building and had a look around.
As he was walking slowly inside the building he noticed the stairs going up were blocked off by the roof caving in so he thought to himself he cant be up there or else id have heard that noise, he kept looking until he heard footsteps that sounded like they were going up or down stairs. He looked at the stairs to the second floor and nope no one was there so it must have been another set of stairs maybe going down? He crept forward and saw some light coming from one of the rooms, as he peered in he noticed a staircase going down that had a trapdoor set up on top of it and a few box's that could have easily been put on top of it to keep it hidden. With this information Yashamaru started to slowly make his way back outside so he could give information on this potential hideout of the Zukumaki Gang, Making his way outside into the open air Yashamaru moved away from the wall opening and away from the building as he now contemplated what to do next, Go back to the HQ or try and Infiltrate it himself and potentially get caught or even killed. Yashamaru had some thinking to do while he waited to see if anyone else was tailing him and the Zukumaki gang member.

Re: The Zukumiki Strike Again [Missions]
Sun Dec 11, 2022 9:30 pm
Emi was on the roof of a nearby building as she saw a man exit through the visitors entrance to the jail cells. She had a pretty good guess that that was the person in question but... there was the slight matter that she had not actually been told if MULTIPLE people were in waiting.
What gave her the conviction to be like "ok, this is it" was when she saw Yashumaru go chasing after the guy. That was a fairly definitive "this is it" signal. As such, Emi would give chase over the rooftops. She would do this, and get back to the police HQ later, when they had a far least reasonable, well, reason to evade her mire.
For now, she had to give chase.
And give chase she did.
All the way to a warehourse. What caught her attention, however, was not the warehouse, but the people around it.
She noticed tents she recognized. Tents she had helped at in the past. While not perfect, she was a decent medic. A decent mundane one, at the least. She would not by trying any surgeries any time soon, but...
The tents gave her a lot of worry. They were still in the process of being set up and, from the distance, she saw many were following hazmat procedures. While not in full isolation garb, many individuals were in suits reminiscent of clean rooms. Others, who did appear to be helping set up, were not. So it was likely that this was an unknown that was possibly contagious but more likely environmental. Some would prefer to wear those sorts of suits no matter what.
What really struck Emi is that they were this far into it and she had not heard yet.
Then again, 'this far' was pretty early on. Emi looked from the roof she sat on and could see a lot of things still happening. More tents were being raised, as well as a large number of folding canopies. "Do Not Cross" tape was being put up. She saw decontamination showers. The ones with covered sections, and a covered shower.
So whatever this was, it was considered 'safe enough' to take the time for privacy. If it was significant and urgent, they could have had bare decon showers set up in droves by now.
But they did not. That was another sigh of relief. That meant either the threat was low, or the showers were a possibly unlikely precaution.
At the same time, there were very clearly cots being set up for long term or intensive care (she could not tell from here), including ones... in open air.
That felt wrong. They were moving fast enough that there were plenty of open cots under tents. Why were some individuals already set up on cots under open a-
She got her answer when one of the individuals coughed and a stream of fire flew out of their mouth and into the sky.
At the least, she thought to herself, it was not a liquid fire-like substance. It appeared to be actual fire.
Therefore, it dissipated quickly in the air.
The entire 40 something foot column.
Emi now understood why there was not a tent above that person.
Emi was conflicted but... really only barely. The moment she saw Yashamaru enter the warehouse, she was GONE.
Well, not gone. The set up was maybe seven buildings over from the warehouse.
"What's going on here!?" Emi did not shout it, but there was an urgency in her voice.
"Hey, you shouldn't be here! Did you not see the tape!?"
There was more shouting in that line. Emi turned around to face the person behind it and...
"Wait, Tanaka?"
"Dr. Heinz?"
Emi had worked with Dr. Heinz a few years ago, dealing with an unknown outbreak featuring respiratory symptoms in a small town. They had had very little face to face opportunity back then. Not because they did not work together often enough, but because they had been in full isolation suits the entire time, until the illness was identified.
Dr. Heinz was a master of his field, infectious agents.
Emi was particularly good at rapid triage. She could not help them out much, not at that time at least, but she could very quickly get people's heart and respiration rates, even through isolation gear. That had left her in a most potent position during that particular outbreak. Luckily, they were able to track down the source: tainted water. It seemed to be a natural occurrence, not malicious.
This time, however, it did not seem natural.
A boy, likely no older than seven, coughing up a forty foot tall fireball, was not normal.
"Ok, you can help. No garb?"
Emi looked over Dr. Heinz. While he did not have a mask, he was otherwise in a coverall suit, including shoe covers and bandaging.
"No, no time. What's going on?"
Dr. Heinz nodded knowingly. "First: we have no evidence it is contagious, airborne or otherwise. Likely environmental contagion. Currently unknown if natural or artificial. Likely artificial. Currently unknown if malicious or accident. Likely malicious."
"Why likely malicious?" Emi asked.
"Seems to be affecting only specific members in family. No seeming connection, health wise. Waiting for word back from the Kage's office regarding finding other possible connections outside of health."
"When did you send word to the Kage's office?"
"Maybe thirty minutes ago, this is a rapidly developing situation."
Emi nodded. "So that's why I hadn't heard yet."
"Why would you have heard?" Dr. Heinz seemed a combination of worried and curious.
"...Fuck. Um, I am currently the Kage."
"Congratulations." He had always been simple and to the point. That single word actually meant a lot, coming from him. As did the solemn nod. There was not a hint of sarcasm in neither his tone nor his posture.
It was a bit of a glow up moment for Emi. She had been so uncertain about this but...
Maybe it was not all bad.
Dr. Heinz immediately turned and started walking. "Symptoms include discovery and manifestation of chakra based powers far outside the score of training and ability of the individuals."
Emi, who had been walking with, stopped. "What??"
Dr. Heinz, seemingly regretfully, stopped and turned. "Come, we talk while we walk."
Emi began walking again, as did Dr. Heinz.
"All victims have been civilians with no training of chakra systems or other strengths. Those with ninja training who have lived in the area seem entirely immune, whereas most civilians in the area have seen at least mild conditions."
This was looking more and more like a targeted attack as she learned more and more. "Have you been able to identify and culprits?"
"As in people?"
Emi paused her speaking, but continued walking alongside Dr. Heinz. "I had meant substances, but if you are bringing up people?"
"We are currently surrounding the area. That is also part of what we sent to the Kage's office: official request for support. See that warehouse?"
He pointed quite literally at the building that Yashamaru had entered. "That is at the epicenter of all cases. That-"
"Makes you think environmental leak, rather than targeted?"
"Yes."
"So the further connection searching is just a precaution?"
"Yes."
"Ok. Good to know. Have you been able to isolate the reagent?"
"Not yet."
"Ok. Do you need triage or anything similar right now?"
"No, we have contained it fairly well and the symptoms are not triagable."
Emi nodded. "I am going to the warehouse."
"Yashamaru!" Emi shouted, assuming this was around the time Yashumaru was leaving the warehouse, running towards the building. "New mission! Break, search, find!"
Emi would go over a few of the details. _Something_ was leaking into the environment and making people sick.
And or purposely being put there.

"Dr. Heinz?"

Re: The Zukumiki Strike Again [Missions]

As Yashamaru waited to see if anyone else was apart of the team that was tailing the member of the gang he looked up and noticed movement on some buildings in the distance then all of a sudden it stopped, the movement had stopped for what felt like 10-20 minutes before he saw it again and it was getting closer this time. Keeping his guard up just incase it was an enemy or someone returning of the gang members group, But as the person was getting closer he could start to spot the long blond hair and then the tank top and jean shorts. It was the Lady from earlier who attacked the gang member and followed him back to the Police HQ before disappearing again, Yashamaru guessed she was here for the same thing he was tailing the gang member to find out where he went and what information was found. As she got closer she started yelling "Yashamaru! New Mission. Break, Search and find!" Yashamaru was a bit confused he didn't know why he would be getting a mission from her... he didn't even know who she was, She went on to tell him the new details she had been given about how an Environmental leak had occurred and made people sick and they were tasked with finding out and information or even trying to fix it themselves. She ended with "Drop stealth protocol, just GO!" with that Yashamaru nodded his head and started to turn towards the building to enter it again and make his way down the stairs to find out what was happening below, as he started to enter the building he didn't hear anyone in the rooms adjacent to the entry point so he moved into the room and turned himself to the direction of the next area.
Yashamaru couldn't hear any noise from the top of the stairway leading down into what is the lower floors or basement for he did not know how far this went down but he was to find out himself, making his way down the stairs he noticed it was lit up via torches on the walls ever 10-20 meters and the area had a corridor that opened up into multiple rooms running down it on both sides. He made his way down the corridor and peered into one of the rooms and saw beds that were lining the walls and the center of the room, they were bunk beds in essence but they were all empty so Yashamaru continued past that room onto another room. Looking into this one he saw two people talking about the issue upstairs with the environmental leak and how citizens were gaining powers they should definitely not have the ability to do or use, Yashamaru watched from where he was and started to do the hand signs for Smoke Shroud Bird-Horse-Dog-Tiger then he exhaled smoke from his mouth and started walking into the room as it started to fill the room with smoke. The men started to panic "What the hell? is there a fire?" coughing and rubbing their eyes Yashamaru quickly walked behind one and Hit him in the back of the Neck knocking him unconscious and did the same to the other man in the room too, with both men down Yashamaru stopped the jutsu and it started to disperse he walked over to where the men were standing to see if their was any information that he could use that could give details on what was happening upstairs. He noticed a paper that had a list of ingredients but couldn't tell if they were useful or not but took them anyway and then left the room and continued on to another room to see what was in them, the next room was empty of people but had barrels in it. He walked over to the barrels and saw they were empty so he kept on to the next room when he heard noise from up ahead, "What the hell is going on in this village? first one of our men gets capture and now our little plan of having the population go crazy has been stopped and being assessed by the authorities what next?' Said a angry voice from ahead.
Yashamaru moved closer but quickly ducked into a side room and hid because 3 men started walking out of the area up ahead, if he had the element of surprise he would take them on but not if they were moving towards his direction themselves. He waited till they had moved into a room and he quickly moved himself past them and into the room they had come from, this one looked like a small office and there was a desk in the middle so he quickly moved to the desk and started going thru the draws to see what paperwork was inside. There was lists of inventory and statistics of stuff they had taken or traded with other people and other documents on what looked out of place, it was documents on random concoctions he had no idea what they did or if any of it was also a cure to said concoction so he took them too and put them with the other information he had from a room up ahead. As he had finished grabbing what he thought was worth grabbing he quickly made his way to the door of the room and peered out no one there and then he dipped back into the other room he was in before, As he entered the room he lit himself a cigarette and took a few puffs before he put it onto a pile of wood and slowly fanned the flames as they started to grow on the wood. With the wood now on fire and smoke slowly filling the room he started to do hand signs again but this time for Smoke Veil Bird-Horse and started Exhaling smoke into the air so it started to billow out of the room and into the hallway, as he did that the fire started getting bigger and bigger now the people from before had started to smell it they started to come back into the hall and saw all the smoke and they started yelling "Fire, Fire" someone else started yelling "Get some buckets of water!". As they had started running around to get buckets Yashamaru started to quickly dip past them and made his way up towards the stairs to get out of the building, he got to the stairs and started to make his way up when someone called out "Get some water quickly" Yashamaru just booked it up the stairs and made his way to the exit of the building were he started to close the entrance to seal them inside.
Having sealed the men inside the building Yashamaru started to catch his breath and watch from the exit as smoke was starting to billow out some lower windows of the building, with the time Yashamaru had he had a quick look at some of the paper work he had take out of the building properly and noticed one of them was a letter from what he could read as a higher up member of the Zukumiki gang addressed to the warehouse and it had information TO the people he had dealt with inside and it was signed the boss, the information on that document had the boss in a different location completely as this one was a document on an ongoing trade that was to happen at a specific location in a few days time. With the information he had from hideout and information of what looked like things that could help he started to make his way in the location the lady from earlier had said was were the information came from, making his way to the area he noticed tents and biohazard teams standing around and tapped of the area he called out "Im looking for a Lady with long blond hair and wearing a tank top and jean shorts, She said i was to come here and find her" he said. Someone called back "Shes here come in, follow me" As he followed the person in hazmat suit he saw her and called out "Miss, i have some information that might be of use or might not" As he pulled out the papers and started to hand them to her.

Final add I think
https://www.narutoroleplaygame.com/t52446-untimely-demise
It was with great trepidation that Emi gave Yashamaru those commands, even if she made it seem sudden and fierce. Or at the least, she had tried to.
She literally knew next to nothing of the Shinobi, nor about the scenario, but...
This was something inside the village. She just had to keep telling herself that if there was some significant presence inside, then somebody would have...
Wait. Who... There was nobody.
There was.
Nobody.
Oh shit she thought, realizing a major hole in the protection of her village. She swore, even as Yashamaru had already disappeared into the building.
She swore again and ran to the blocked off stairs going upwards and, rather unceremoniously, punched the stairs out of the way from the back.
Well, less punched, more pushed until something broke.
She had been pretty certain that was not a terrible idea, that did not look like they would be load bearing, but...
Today had gone wrong plenty, already. Why add not another thing to the fire? It was just like the cruel twists of fate to do exactly what she did not want at a given moment.
The everything made a very large bang as it fell to the floor. If people were not alerted to Yashamaru's presence yet, they would be to Emi's...
That was, admittedly, half of the plan.
What was not a part of the plan, however, was what Emi found when she jumped upstairs, jumping from one section of newly formed rubble to the other.
Emi...
She was not even in a place to be thankful she had not yet eaten lunch. She found the minuscule amount of contents that were once in her stomach now upon the floor.
The collapsed roof was one thing, the building had looked structurally sound otherwise. But, up here, Emi felt weak on her knees, and even fell to the ground, clutching her stomach.
It was a strange emotion, one of mixed anger, sadness, and rage.
Before her was what was once the body of a Shinobi of the Rice.
Well, she assumed at least. All that was really noticeable as an identifying feature was the headband, stained with blood.
It, they, whatever, was sat upon a chair. Shackled to it, if the few seconds Emi had seen it had been properly emblazoned into her brain for life.
It was as if time had frozen. At the top of the stairs, through a single door, she stared at it. A horrible corpse, brutalized, mangled.
Emi hoped beyond hope that this was some twisted joke done after killing the fellow.
She doubted it, though. In those horrifying seconds, she had seen a lot, and was starting to put together the pieces, even as the last pieces left her stomach.
Captured. Locked up. Imprisoned.
Whoever this was, and...
Emi hated to think this, but they were short.
They were likely young.
They-
She heaved again. There was nothing left to bring up, but her stomach was trying.
She had never seen something like this. You are supposed to prepare for stuff, be ready for anything, but
...She never wanted there to be a day where she was ready for this. Where she expected to find dead, mutilated bodies of what were likely children.
The fingers. In her seconds of shock, and horror, she remembered the fingers well.
She remembered there were no nails.
She remembered the skin, hanging off the wrist of the individual.
No longer attached to the fingers, or the hand.
So many marks, going up and down the individuals body.
So much of it looked charred. Cauterized, but without any caution or care.
There...
There was little reason to do that.
To burn in general, would have meant more was burned.
But... but this was just the wounds. Only the wounds, only the parts that would bleed... Only they were blackened and charred.
That was what stuck with Emi the most. Not the smell, it had not processed in her mind yet.
But all the little hints that this was careful. Methodical.
And done to a living, breathing person.
She stood up, still shaky on her knees, and walked over to the body.
She would remember this. No matter what, she would remember this.
This was too far.
Much, much too far.
She walked up to the person. Their face was too mangled for her to guess who they were. She could barely even see any skin anymore.
She wondered if perhaps this was done afterwards. There was no blackening, nor really any sign of any form of cauterization.
Was whoever did this so fucked up, so insane, so... detached, that after torturing a literal child to literal death, they went on to keep mutilating the corpse?
Emi reached for the eyes, to close their eyelids, but...
There were no eyelids.
Not recessed, or hidden, or damaged.
No eyelids.
And at the top of the eyes, very small, very precise, burn marks.
Emi stopped. And stood. And punched the wall next to her hard enough that it began to crack.
This building, even without Yashamaru's fire that had not yet been set, would not last long.
Emi looked around, and was thankful to find a large tarp. Likely one used for construction work.
Hardly the vessel befitting the scenario, but...
Something was needed.
She covered up the cadaver. Lifting the chair to completely encompass it, making sure there were no windows to see into the inside through.
Then she walked to the wall where she had punched a crack. Picking up the chair, late shinobi still strapped to it, she kicked at the crack, making it into a door.
It was a few minutes later when Yashamaru arrived at the tent where Emi now found herself. She was sitting, foot rapidly tapping the ground, hands meshed together and held up, with her elbows resting on her knees.
Her forehead lay upon the knuckles of her pointers while her thumbs dug into the upper bridge of her nose.
They, Emi had found a medic willing to work with the body, they were having dental records taken, to try to identify the body. But Emi had been informed already who it probably was.
The parents were here. They had been since the morning. Their child, barely a new Genin, had been sent on what was supposed to be an easy mission to help out with the care of people in the area.
At some point he had overheard the discussion about possible causes. At least, that was the running theory.
One of the workers had found a note from the lad saying he was 'going home to get some lunch'. He thought nothing of it, as the specific mission was done, and the boy returning to assist afterwards would just be a nice bonus.
The parents came later, confused why their child had not returned home for lunch, as he had promised he would.
That is when worry had begun at the site, but... not much.
Not until Emi brought back the body, and described where it had been.
Emi had already spoken with the parents, primarily. She had described the state of the body, vaguely, so as to not scar them more than they already would be. She had told them about getting a clone for the viewing. It was...
It was a harsh reality. Their child, who they loved, could not be viewed. It was... too much. And could not be salvaged.
There would be the autopsy which... normally would not be too invasive, but...
Well, there were already wildly invasive procedures done, and no one to blame. Not yet.
That made the parents even madder. Emi pointed out the Zukumiki in the area but...
The parents were no fools. They were the parents of a ninja. The Zukumiki were rarely ruthless like this.
Emi could not deny that. This was... this was something else. Someone else, maybe. Working with, alongside, the Zukumiki. Perhaps without them even knowing.
Emi wanted to shudder at the possibility, but she had had to be strong.
But now? Now she was weak. Emotionally drained. Tense.
She wanted to leave, but she could not.
She did not see him when he entered, but his presence was quickly announced.
She stopped tapping her foot and looked up to the boy.
"Thank you," she said, taking the papers handed to her. It was of little consolation, but, perhaps these contained more about the shinobi's killer and tormentor.
It was at this time that another medical staff member walked up. "Lady Komekage? The dental records are a match."
"Thank you," Emi said, taking the papers he was also handing her.
She wanted to stand up, but... but could not. She... she just needed a moment, and.
She bit her arm. Not hard, but enough to muffle the scream she let out before standing up abruptly.
"Are you any good with people, Yashamaru?" she said. "I have to go tell two parents that the child they had breakfast with is no longer among us."
While the invite was open, Emi would begin walking through the tent and outwards, whether or not Yashamaru decided to follow.
She needed to confirm that the body was their child. That there would be no family dinner.
And offer her deepest condolences that they could not see the body.

Re: The Zukumiki Strike Again [Missions]

When Yashamaru had entered the tent he saw the Lady sitting, foot rapidly tapping the ground with her elbows on her knees and face in hands thats what he could see as he entered. He handed her the paper and as he was waiting on her to read thru them another person entered the room a Medic, he entered and said "Lady Komekage? The dental records are a match" she replied with "Thank you" and Yashamaru eyes fluttered into a rapid blink and a head shake as he thought what the hell? Komekage? is this Lady actually the Villages Kage and he had no idea at all.... as he was trying to process the information he looked up at the Lady who was his Kage as she bit her arm and a muffled scream came out before she stood up, when she stood up she said to Yashamaru "Are you any good with people Yashamaru?" "I have to go tell two parents that the child they had breakfast with is no longer among us" and with that she started to move out of the tent not waiting for an answer or to see if Yashamaru was to follow after her.
As Yashamaru followed her he was taken to the area were the body of the boy was well what was left of him because in all honesty this poor child was purely fucked up royally, who could do this to a child regardless of if they were a Shinobi or a civilian to snuff out a life this brutally wasn't something most people could witness that was for sure. Going over the list of things that had happened to the poor child Yashamaru found "tied and shackled to a chair, finger nails pulled off as a form of torture, so many burn and cauterized marks on the body. No eyelids as they were cut and burnt off" What actually possesses someone to torture someone to this extent? because this wasn't something you would normally ever see in a torture case or victim report. Having to even see the body itself Yashamaru instantly knew that burns this bad weren't by amateurs, because he himself used flames as a weapon so he knew how badly and horrifying the wounds could get if done maliciously compared to quick and painlessly. Yashamaru finished reading the report and was to make his way to were the parents of the child would be located and he obviously knew they wouldn't let the parents see the child's body in the state it was due to how badly it was mangled and brutalized so he would just be their as support for his subordinate who he had just found out after all this time was his Kage... what a damn time to find that information out in a situation like this geez.
With that Yashamaru now ready he stood at the door were he would probably stand guard just inside the room as assistance for the Kage because he has never been in a situation were he was to tell the parents or family of the fallen what had happened as that was always left for the experienced in that type of thing, If anything he would be their as moral support for his Kage and talk if needed/Asked.
