Howls head was throbbing. He was currently on his way to the village jail and was struggling to walk straight from all the saki he had drank. Apparently, the man that Howl had placed a 5-Elements seal on in the bar was apart of some gang. The village authorities had returned to the pub after hauling the man away, stating they were having difficulties extracting any useful information from the man because of the seal that Howl had placed on him. It appears that the bartender had bragged about Howl coming to his aid and one of the village authorities overheard him- se here he was, on his way to the jail, piss drunk.
Howl wondered if he would need to explain himself or would potentially be in trouble for what he did. He was defending the bartender after all from extortion for a simple mistake, so there was nothing for him to fear, right? After a short walk from the pub, Howl arrived at what he presumed to be the villages jail. There was a brief exchange between Howl and guard which would have been painful to listen to because of how much Howl was struggling to speak coherently. The person had requested for Howl to wait outside and offered him a water which Howl eagerly took. Howl positioned himself outside and cracked open his water. It was a beautiful day and if it hadn’t been for this unfortunate event, he would of still be locked inside the pub and training to take on Asahi in a drinking competition that he had yet challenged him to. There was a rather blank expression on Howl’s face as he waited out front of the jail house. He was swaying slightly from side to side and his brain was off wondering about how he would go about gaining a summoning contract with the toads of Mount Myoboku. Howl laughed out loud whilst imagining himself showing up to Asahi’s castle whilst riding atop a massive toad. It would be far more impressive than his white horse and the Komekage would surely feel jealous.
Howl was wearing his white blouse which was unkept because of his escapades to the pub. His shirt was untucked, and he was wearing black pants which fit him perfectly. His red jacket with black diamonds was absent and his blond hair was still naturally great looking. Howl laughed to himself once more, fantasizing more about titanic battles between toads and other massive creatures while he waited patiently for the guards to retrieve him to remove his seal from the Zukumiki.

Re: Zukumiki in love [Mission]

Beautiful days are always made for work. That was his current thought process as Asahi Yagami, Komekage of Tanbogakure all be it reluctantly, laughed. To a casual observer it would appear as though he was having fun. In truth however, this was just another job. Another demand asked of him. There were a fair few militia members at this point, but they were raw. The ones of some potency had specific jobs already, and they were not built for a job such as this. No, no, no once again it was he who was needed to make sure everything ran smoothly full steam ahead. How he longed for the easy days. The days where he worked simply at a tea shop pretending to be a woman. The flowing dresses, the generous tips, things were easier then. Now it was all pomp and circumstance, people telling him to smoke less, drink fewer shots, act more dignified. Yasahiro still grumpy and busy enough to barely even speak to him. Alas, so is the way of the worlds and growing up. Late into his twenties maybe it was finally time…..
To contradict the above thought process he let out another guffaw of laughter as the homely girl across from him made a jest. Pushing more sake towards her and taking a deep breath from his kiseru he let out a fragrant column of smoke from both nostrils. Yes, heavy is the calm of duty.
The Zukumiki had been more active recently. Twice in so many days a member of their gang had been apprehended in the village. They were light charges in one case and more severe in the other, but still difficult to use to real squash the threat. It was Yasahiro and his militia’s job to eliminate those of violence outright, but now it was tasked to him to assist as well. In front of him was a woman, the supposed girlfriend of the man that Howl had captured the night before. Honestly, two days in and he was already performing as much work for the village as a normal shinobi. Maybe he deserved a bonus.
Reaching out Asahi would grip the woman’s hand, forcing her gaze into his own. Two things occurred then. The eye mind reading technique in conjunction with his new found abilities allowed him to extort a great deal of information quickly. Seeing what he needed to see, he stood leaving the woman clutching her head confusedly. The effects would wear off soon enough. Paying for her drinks, because he was a nice guy, he vacated the premises before she could get a full hold on herself.
Rejoining with his horse as she waited outside, they walked together towards the jail. His kiseru between his lips and held in his right hand, a luminous blue smoke seemed to be roiling out of the bowl. A pungent and powerful smell accompanying it. His outfit for the day was kimono the color of sunflowers, with soft brown accents. Wooden clogs clicking away as he walked. Soon he spotted Howl waiting m, a little worse for wear, outside the jail.
“Oye!” He’d should loudly waving towards the man. As he did the strange phenomenon occurred once again. Their spirits briefly connecting. Howl would see Asahi fighting in a festival contest in this very village, wooden swords flashing at blinding speed against a taller man, who he’d recognize as the same one from their previous connection in the house swamp. Fireworks exploding as their backdrop of the duel. It would cut out before a clear winner was seen.
“You’re looking rough!” He’d say in a chipper expression as they got close.

Re: Zukumiki in love [Mission]

Amidst his giggling, Howl became aware of the sound of wooden clogs clinking across the dirt path towards him, a shout, then the sound of the clogs coming to a halt. “I’ve got tremendous luck.” Howl said whilst suppressing another giggle as the thought of colossal frogs dueling fled from his mind. In the moment that they had met again, another anomaly would occur, and a vision of Asahi fighting in a festival contest with a wooden sword would surge through his brain. Howl vaguely recognized the man Asahi was fighting from the first vision that had invaded his mind when they had first met. Then, just as the first invasion had occurred, this one too had quickly come and gone. On the other side of this anomaly, Asahi would become developed in the events that had taken place leading up to their impromptu second meeting. Asahi would be in a quant pub that was located not far from where they were currently standing. There was a scene with a large man looming over a bar counter who closely resembled the man that was currently sitting in the jail behind them. The man was clearly angry and was in the process of pulling the bartender over the counter when Howl, who was sitting closely by and clutching what appeared to be his seventh drink, had arose from his seat, said something inaudible to man, and then thrusted his hand into the chest of the now prisoner. Upon Howl making contact with the man there was a bright purple flash of light and then the man dropped to the floor where in the coming moments, other patrons from the pub would gather and retrain the unconscious man.
Howl coughed awkwardly following the flashback exchange. “I’ve been better.” Howl said in response, now gendering down at himself and trying to access how drunk he was. “Seems I’ve gotten myself mixed up in some more trouble, but I was only protecting the pub owner from a thug.” Howl said, coolly. Before Asahi could respond, the guard that Howl had encountered upon arrival was now sweeping out from the jailhouse and beckoning for Howl to join him. Howl wondered for a moment if Asahi would intervene. The guard recognized Asahi, gave him a rather formal bow, and then invited Asahi to join them. Once inside, the trio were standing in a small room behind a long, rectangular window which was slightly opaque. “This is a one-way mirror.” Said the guard to Howl who was goggling at it. “It allows us to see into the room, but those inside are unable to see us.” The guard said once more. “Ah yes, I knew that.” Howl said, stuttering his pronunciation slightly. The guard snorted, looked at Asahi, and then proceeded to inform Howl further on what was going on. “This is an interrogation room. Seems you have never seen one. And that-“, the guard was now pointed towards the one-way mirror to a gentleman who was sitting on the other side, unrestrained but apparently unconscious in a chair. “That is the man that you struck with an illegal fuinjutsu in the pub. Normally, you may be on the other side of this glass, but since this is a member of notorious criminal gang that has been giving the village some grief, we are willing to look the other way this once.” The guard finished up saying, looking towards Asahi for his approval. Howl half listened to the guard and was instead eyeing the passed-out individual precociously. “Now if you’ll remove whatever seal you’ve placed on this boy so we can carry on with our interrogation, then it would be very appreciated.” The guard said, now grasping Howl by the arm and leading him to the entrance of the interrogation room. Howl, without much time to react, conceded.
Howl entered the room and then the guard closed the door behind them, waiting to see if Asahi would accompany them first. “Alright, go on now.” The guard said to Howl who was already planting his hand on the man’s chest. There was a flash of purple light, and then the man awoke to consciousness with a stir. The Zukumiki’s sudden burst to life had startled Howl, who had now slapped his hand against the man’s chest again. There was another purple light, and he was unconscious. “Well what did you do that for!” The guard scolded Howl who was now looking sheepishly. “S-sorry he startled me. Aren’t you going to you know, secure him to the chair first? What if he starts freaking out.” The guard sucked his bottom lip, not wanting to agree with Howl’s obvious reasoning. “Alright, alright.” The guard then went over to the man, brandished two sets of handcuffs, and mans hands behind his back and his ankle to the chair, leaving one leg awkwardly free. “Alright, as you were.” The guard said to Howl, who had now slapped the man hard on the chest for a third time. A flash of bright purple light filled the room and then the man was awake once more. “You bastard’s what are you doing to me! Let me go!” The man screamed as he began flailing his only free leg and struggling to free himself from his handcuffs. His outburst was causing the chair to inch across the floor and Howl was readying his hand and looking at the guard and Asahi, waiting for any indication from them to slap the man in the chest for a forth time with a seal.
“No, that’s quite alright.” The guard said to Howl, crushing his dreams. The guard now positioned himself just a few feet in front of the man and shouted at him. “Stop it boy before I have the drunk fellow put you under again!” The man’s struggling immediately stopped and he began eyeing Howl eerily as a devilish look had now manifested on Howl’s face at the thought of practicing more fuinjutsu on him. “What do you want with me then?” The man said incredulously to the guard. The guard now raised his hand to his mustache and began to pick at it. “You are a Zukumiki boy, are you not?” The guard said, now calmer than he had been since Howl had arrived. The restrained man grunted. “Do you want to go to sleep again? We can do this all day.” The guard said coolly. There were now beads of sweat formulating on the restrained mans temple and he put his head down in defiance. “I ain’t tellin you nothin.” The man said. “Howl is it?” The guard said, motioning his attention to the drunkard. “Would you mind?” He then turned his head towards the restrained man as if he were pointing with his hand. There was a twinkle in Howl’s eyes and without further hesitation, he was now repeatedly jabbing his hand into the man’s chest repeatedly. Rapid flashes of purple light now filled the room like a strobe light as Howl repeatedly placed and removed the 5-Elements seal on the restrained mans chest. With each removal of the seal, the man would burst to life and let out a muffled scream before being sealed again and falling unconscious. Howl did these five or six times before the guard shrieked. “Enough! Enough. I think we’ve made our point.” Howl removed the seal once more and a now exasperated Zukumiki shot back to life and collapsed in his chair panting. “P-please no more. I’ll tell you whatever it is you want to know, just don’t let him touch me again!” The Zukumiki was now extending his neck towards Howl in outrage. “I’ll tell you everything as long as they leave the room!” The Zukumiki said, referring to Asahi and Howl. “Alright- do you mind waiting outside?” The guard said, his question more towards Asahi than Howl. Asahi and Howl would exit the room and watch on the other side of the one-way glass as the Zukumiki bird sang and the guard scribbled down notes. The interrogation lasted about 60 minutes and by the time it was done, Howl had drank the majority of the staffs water bottles and was sober and grumpy.
The door to the interrogation room swung open and out came the guard triumphantly. “Alright lads.” He would say, now flipping through his notes to a blank page and copying a couple of locations down before handing them to Asahi. “I’ve been able to narrow down the Zukumiki’s boss’ location to these three hideouts. Our prisoner says he is only a low level member and isn’t important enough to know which one the boss is hiding out at. I hate to ask, but would you be able to scout out the hideouts to see if they are viable?” The guard would say to Asahi, not paying much attention to Howl. “Someone has to stay at the station to look after the place and while you are gone, I can see if I can extract anymore information from our prisoner here. You should take this one with you, he’s been extraordinarily useful although I am unsure if he would be able to beat you in a drinking contest sir.” The guard waited patiently to see if Asahi approved of his plan. A small sense of pride arose in Howl in response to the guard’s words- little did he know, Howl had been practicing.

A fluttering of eyelashes and Asahi washed the memory that wasn’t his away. That was a lucky connection he thought internally. The practice of spirits meeting was useful as it was useless. On occasion gaining great insights and profound moments, and then there was that unfortunate time he connected and just watched a man struggle with a stomach flue. A brief moment of disgust crossed his face before he brought it all back to a more dignified expression. There was brief time before the guard exited. He had always been a rather gruff fellow. Station, pride, whatever you wanted to call it had led him to never treat Asahi with anything but the most respect, but he knew this was not his first choice. The man was loyal and believed in Yasahiro, Asahi was just a side piece who happened to be the other side of the coin. Still, he felt there was little to be offended by, so he treated the man with polite smiles and waves….which actually irked him even more than if he’d just be the failure that the guard believed he would inevitably turn out to he.
The next 60 or so minutes moved by without much need for his own intervention. He could have simply entered the man’s mine, mingled with his spirit and extracted every detail of his life. It would have taken all of three seconds truth be told. The mind intrusion technique he’d picked up was a very useful skill, but then…..then he wouldn’t have gotten to see Howl handle himself. So instead he merely took a back seat to the majority of the proceedings.
His first real form of action not taking place until everything was said and done. “Sounds great!” He’d say clapping at the guards ideas for the mission. “We can take that portion from here, thank you sir!” He’d say in sickly sweetness and sincerity. The guard would restrain from rolling his eyes before returning to the building.
“Alright first thing first…”. He’d look at Howl, his left hand moving through several signs as he gathered his own spiritual injuries. A trick that he’d learned from Hikari despite his desires to reframe from learning and being tainted by all that ninja magic nonsense. Still, it had proven too useful, so even he had she leaves his pride on this one. His hand glowing a feint rainwater blue, he’d place it on Howl’s chest. The hangover cure technique would flood over the man, removing the remnants of the alcohol in his system, and pushing everything where they needed to go. Hey, he didn’t pretend to understand exactly how it worked, just that it did. Soon Howl would begin to feel back to one hundred percent, a good thing for the missions success
“Alright, why don’t we take one of the cases and we will send some of the guards to the other. No need to do anything crazy, let’s just get the lau of the land.” He’d lead the way to the outside of the village sending a pair of the gate guards, Giichi and Oni two massive men out to investigate the other two. “Then we are free to check the other one!” And with that they were off.
The hideout ended up being a small building on the outskirts of one of the rice paddy fields. Far enough removed that it would go untouched. Another couple of seconds, and Asahi sent out the en detection barrier…..”I don’t feel anything, but you just never know.” He’d say shrugging. His hand drifted and rested gently on the hilt of his sword. Despite his lackadaisical posture and attitude, there was something there. A piece of the Yagami rested inside of Asahi despite his propensities to be the black sheep of his clan. A clan built of mercenaries, and bought with blood. Now though, he was a simple samurai with a wide smile as bright as his sunflower robes.

Asahi agreed to the terms of the guard’s request and off he went back to the jail house to do what he loved best. Following Asahi’s acceptance of the mission, he then turned to Howl and placed a now glowing hand on his chest. A technique would flow over Howl, and extract the linger remnants of his hangover, returning him to full spirits. “So that’s how you do it!” Howl would exclaim, realizing that this technique was the key to Asahi’s ability to drink way more than him. “You’ll have to show me that one again after we complete the mission.” Howl would say, seemingly agreeing to another impromptu mission that he had found himself in. Howl didn’t mind how spontaneous his life had been since he had been born anew. Was this what truly living was like? Asahi broke the game plan down to Howl on how they would go to one out-post and some guards would go to another. Howl agreed and off they went.
The two ventured from beyond the village and deep into the rice paddies where they located a small building on the out-skirts which was hidden well in plain sight. The two observed the building from a short distance and then Asahi set out a detection barrier followed by a statement that he didn’t sense anyone inside. Howl would follow suit by forming the seal of confrontation and activating the Mind’s Eye of the Kagura technique which heightened the users’ sensory abilities beyond their normal means. Howl held the seal firmly and his techniques range increased as he worked to discern if anyone was nearby. Howl then released the seal and muttered, “Nothing. They could be hiding?” Howl murmured, both not feeling relatively keen on entering to find out.
“Shall we enter?” Howl said, beginning to walk towards the building, now wading through a foot of rice paddy water. The water dried near the edge of the paddy and Howl approached the door of the building and gave Asahi a weak look, then knocked twice on the door. They waited a moment, but there was no answer. Howl placed his hand on the doorway and a seal burst to life before shattering and disappearing. “Figures.” Howl would say, now pushing open the door to reveal a dark room. The room was dark besides whatever sunlight could find its way through the now opened entrance. It appeared that no one had been here in an extensive period. There were cobwebs everywhere and a thick layer of dust on all surfaces that was now rising because of the sudden disturbance. Doesn’t appear to be anyone here Howl would say, now sifting from some papers that had been left behind on a dirty table. Howl was flipping through what appeared to be a magazine when a small piece of paper hidden beneath what was once a banana peel, caught his eye. How cautiously pulled on the paper, not wanting to get any of the rotten fruit remains on him, to reveal a table napkin with a crude drawing on it. In red color, a map had been drawn where there was a crude drawing of the building they currently stood and the specs for a new building that was planned not far from here. “Looks like we know where they are now.” Howl would say, handing out the dirty napkin map to Asahi. “Now what?” Howl would say, as the dirty napkin map exchanged hands. Now they knew where the boss was, what would be Asahi’s plan of action? As Komekage, it was his duty to handle criminals disturbing his village, but would he do the snuffing out himself? Howl waited patiently for Asahi to observe the crude map drawing and come to the same realization he had upon understanding it. “I’d be happy to help.” Howl would now say, offering his assistance once more.

In the end the events would wind up being mostly anticlimactic. No one was there, and the building was abandoned. Which led to the real question, had they know they were coming….or was this a dead end. The napkin made Asahi a touch uneasy. “Yes……maybe…”. He’d say looking over it. He knew about where the location was, but it didn’t make him feel any better. Looking around the room he continued to think, silent for a long time.
“O yes, we could use you that’s for sure!” He’d still returning to his chipper self. “I think it might be best to use some caution though. Call me pessimistic but this was a touch too easy. Let’s see if Giichi or Oni found anything. Then we can go from there, how marvelous!” He’d say clapping his hands together.
With that they’d be off returning to the village. Beating Giichi back, Oni filled Asahi in that his location had been a dead end, though he’d recovered a map of sorts that had been mostly hidden. It matched the one that Howl had found as well. Still…..Asahi did not have a great feeling about the whole situation. Was he just paranoid, or looking into the trap moments before disaster struck. Giichi would return, and low and behold he too possessed a map. He dismissed them and paid for Howls living expenses for the week in gratitude. Letting everyone know the matter was shelved until he could consult with some of the officers amongst the militia. One could never be to careful.
