Re: Second Day of Work

Now what would today’s events bring for the young Genin Canary Hidemori? Would she meet new people and fellow Shinobis? Would she have to fight for her life and defeat enemies? Would she have an insightful and deep conversation with the Kage of the village? The day’s possibilities were endless and many but even if that was technically true, Canary started off her day with making her way to the building in the village that housed the Mission board and where you could undertake various missions of various difficulties. As she was just a Genin she could only go on missions as high as B-rank, anything higher and she would need someone of Chunin rank and she didn’t know many of those personally. Canary also didn’t feel that she was quite ready to undertake anything higher then B-rank anyways. Sure she certainly felt a growth in her own physical capabilities but she was still very much lacking in the rest of her needed arsenal.
She had recently learned how to harness her Clan’s ability to release chakra from their Tenketsu and make a field of sorts around her that allowed her to sense things within in. At its current form it wasn’t much to be excited about but progress was still progress and that was the facet she wanted to focus on. Now she wanted to expand her connection with the townspeople and further her contributions so she scanned the board and picked a group of requests a bunch of them pertaining to things she had accomplished the other day in fact. So Canary felt she would be able to take care of those requests quite quickly. Once she had been cleared to take the missions she made her way to the first destination which happened to be the same Adoption Center for animals that she had help repair one of the walls in the building and retrieved some of the animals that had been able to make their escape that day.
It was in much better shape then it had been prior and that was a good sign that Canary was glad about after all the animals deserved a place to be safe and secure and taken care of not some run down shed like it had looked the other day. Going inside Canary saw the same young man from last time and approached the counter to speak with him, the young man showed that he recognized Canary and was glad to see her. Canary produced the request slip and after the young man had read over it he was more then glad to tell Canary what tasks she was to help with this time around. It seemed that while this place had gotten a face lift, they didn’t have enough people to help with the care and cleaning of the animals housed in the building so they needed people to help give some of the animals a bath and even just interact with them a bit. This was a win in Canary’s book if she had ever seen one, while she didn’t wish to get dirty while cleaning the animals she was more then happy to help out and play with the various animals in the building.
The young man told her where the cleaning products were along with the leashes and the bath, he basically just made sure she knew where everything was and how to use it before allowing her to do what she needed to accomplish for the day. Canary rolled up her sleeves to her elbows and put on the apron to help mitigate some of the dirt and water that she was sure was going to be splashed around while attempting to clean the animals. For the most part things went smoothly the dogs that she washed and brushed and cared for were hyper and happy to be around a child and listened as good as you could expect. Canary wore a smile through this whole ordeal genuinely enjoying herself. When it came time to try and clean the cats that were in the building Canary donned the protective gloves that the young man had told her about as she did not wish to gain any scars from very upset felines. The first couple cats she helped take care were actually very calm and while they didn’t enjoy the baths they didn’t lash out at Canary while she cleaned them. Those cats were happy after the drying and brushing purring and pushing their heads into the brush and against Canary’s arms as she finished up.
The next couple of cats where the reason why you wore protective gloves and apron when dealing with animals as they hissed and struggled as if they were going to be tortured for village secrets or something, it was as if water was acid to these animals and they wanted to make sure they didn’t go without the biggest fight of their feline life. Regardless after a much longer time then the prior animals Canary was finally done taking care of those more aggressive critters and shut the last of the cages. She now was free to play and interact with the animals as she saw fit to hopefully get their spirits up and maybe she could try and teach some a trick or two. Though the only things she could think of was how to sit and shake and those really only worked with Dogs, but that didn’t stop her from trying with all the creatures. The hours passed and when she was done she had been able to train at least a handful of dogs on how to sit and shake and had even accomplished training two of the cats on how to do so as well. That was an achievement for the young woman as far as she was concerned, now it was time to get her slip approved and head on off to the next mission of the day.
Though first she would swing by her home and get changed into something that didn’t smell like wet dog and cat.
