Patrol Intern Mission
Otoko woke up from a nearly sleepless night feeling tired and groggy. The only good thing about sleepless nights is that he doesn't have to worry about his typical nightmares creeping into his head. Despite the fatigue, he knew he had to get up and start his day, as this was a big day. Today was the start of Otoko’s patrol internship. His training session went really well and considering he was hoping to become a member of the Nova Corps, taking patrols seemed like the best path for furthering that dream. He got out of bed and stretched his limbs, trying to shake off the drowsiness, to not much success. He then went to the bathroom to wash his face and brush his teeth, hoping that the cold water would help him wake up. The cold water did help, but it wasn’t enough to get him ready for the day, he was definitely going to need something stronger and probably darker to get the job done. Next, he got dressed for the day, choosing his typical attire and equipment, as he wanted to ensure he was prepared for anything today. Even though he was fairly certain nothing crazy would happen, due to the parameters of his internship and where he would be patrolling, there shouldn’t be much excitement. He put on his favorite boots and trademark hat with his shinobi headband and grabbed his backpack, which he had packed the night before with all the things he needed for the day. Before leaving the house, Otoko made himself a cup of coffee, hoping the caffeine would help him stay alert. He then took a deep breath and stepped out into the fresh morning air.
Otoko left his house, cup of coffee in hand, and made his way towards the village headquarters. He walked briskly, trying to avoid being late for the scheduled meeting before his patrol started. As he walked, he sipped on his coffee, enjoying the warm, bitter taste, taking in the sights and sounds of the village. Otoko enjoyed people watching and seeing the families go about living their carefree lives and enjoying their seemingly blissful days. The only reason these days existed for the villagers was because of the shinobi and other members of the village that risked their lives to ensure the village's safety. The caffeine helped to wake him up and keep him alert, but he was going to need to pick up his pace to get his heart rate going, quick and casual exercise was always a great way to wake the body up and get the blood flowing. When Otoko arrived at the village headquarters, he showed his identification to the guards at the gate and was allowed to enter. He made his way to the reception desk and told the receptionist his name and the purpose of his visit. The receptionist directed him to a waiting area, where he took a seat and waited for his appointment. While he waited, Otoko took out a notebook and reviewed some notes he had taken earlier as well as the village headquarters layout, preparing himself for the meeting and his upcoming patrol session.
Otoko knew that when reporting to a superior officer, it's a good idea for him to introduce himself and express his enthusiasm for the internship. He should also ask for any specific instructions or guidelines for his duties while on patrol, as well as any safety protocols or procedures he should be aware of and follow. Additionally, he should make sure he was prepared for anything and everything that could happen, and while that may be a lot to ask of himself, this opportunity was very important to him and he was going to take it seriously. Otoko had a list of things he should ask that included questions about the layout of the ninja headquarters, any potential hazards he should be aware of, or any procedures for reporting incidents or emergencies. He also hoped that they would give him any extra information that they felt he would need. Otoko stopped letting his mind run amok and began focusing on the layout again, making notes of any potential entry or exit points, and identifying any areas that may require extra attention during his routes. Otoko was informed by the shinobi he was to report to today that studying and familiarizing oneself with the layout of the ninja headquarters is an important aspect of any patrol internship. By doing so, he would be able to better understand the location of various facilities and areas within the headquarters, which can be useful in his patrols and reporting duties. In addition to studying the map, Otoko also physically explored the ninja headquarters a couple days ago to get a more hands-on understanding of the layout and familiarize himself with the feel and air of the building. This involved walking through the various areas of the facility, observing the placement of security cameras and other security measures, and getting a sense of the traffic patterns and movements of people within the headquarters. Otoko took extensive notes during his observations and had been studying them for the last few, which was probably a big part of his recent sleepless nights. By combining both a map-based and hands-on approach to studying the ninja headquarters, Otoko gained a comprehensive understanding of the facility's layout and was better prepared to carry out his duties as a patrol intern today.
A door swung open from behind the reception desk and a man entered the room looking right at Otoko and waved him into the room. Otoko got up and followed quickly. The unnamed man briefed Otoko a little quicker than what he was hoping for, but maybe that was the nature of this certain patrol and Otoko was overthinking the whole situation, something he tended to do often. The man finished his briefing just as quickly as it had started. He knew what to do based on the information he had received and felt that maybe this was a test to see how well he prepared himself beforehand. While he wasn’t usually one to prepare for things, he couldn’t help himself this time, he had to succeed at this internship, it meant his future. During his patrol, Otoko remained alert and attentive to his surroundings, looking out for any signs of unusual activity, such as open or unlocked doors, broken windows, or any other indications of forced entry. While anyone who attempted to gain unauthorized access to Hoshi’s headquarters would have to be diabolically insane, it could potentially happen, why else would they have these patrols? If Otoko encountered any disturbances during his patrol, he would report them immediately to his superiors, providing as much detail as possible about the nature of the disturbance and any individuals involved. In the event of an emergency or security breach, Otoko would follow established procedures and protocols for responding to such situations, such as contacting backup or evacuating the area. When his patrol was over he wrote up a brief report for his superiors, it only being brief due to the uneventfulness of his patrol, as short as it was though, it was as detailed as Otoko could make the report. He turned in his report and thanked the receptionist before leaving the headquarters and heading back home.
