Revisiting the Arts? [Multi Mission Thread,D Rank] Empty Revisiting the Arts? [Multi Mission Thread,D Rank]

Mission Name:

Monsoon, in indigo silks draped over a black top, white martial pants, and black slippers, approached a familiar, dilapidated sight. The lobby of the theatre he had come to before was unchanged, not to his surprise. Yet, now having come here before and now aiding the troupe again, he felt a sense of ownership to this space.

He slid his robe off and hung it on a nearby wall, not wanting to dirty his fine dress and preparing for the work ahead. He began by tidying the floors, sweeping and scraping the tile until it shined respectably. He continued with the walls, until they were spotless. He then organized the cluttered ticket booth, giving it the impression of organized authority. Last, he cleaned the beverage and snack booth. Though a sparse selection, it was still given a grand look due to Monsoon's effort.

As he finished, the door to the theatre opened and the Uchiha was greeted by the warm, eccentric face of the theatre's director.

Offering a warm welcome, the director ushered Monsoon into the blackbox theatre, explaining the situation. The director was experimenting with a new form of story telling, a community driven story, one written by the performers and guided by the director, yet sticking to one central theme. As it stood, the current plot was thus.

There was a king and queen from a far off land. The King was the son of a powerful emperor and a renowned warrior. The Queen was one who rose to power, through her own strength, prowess and cunning. Through her rule and conquest, her land prospered. One day, the king and queen had a discussion, of who was luckier to marry the other, the bride of the son of the emperor, or the husband of a great conqueror? This discussion quickly turned into a heated argument, which ended with a bizarre order.

The servants were tasked to count the individual amount of wealth the king and queen held, each robe, sword, animal, and gold piece. This, understandably, took time. Thus, the land was ablaze with rumors and many found themselves on opposite side, with a portion believing the king was wealthier, and the other, the queen.

To both their dismay, it was found that their material wealth was even. Well, almost even. When the king and queen accounted for the value of their herd animals, a shocking discovery was made. A prized and powerful bull lay in the King's field, one that was a wedding gift, from the Queen.

The king muttered meekly, stating that, because it was originally hers, the Queen was wealthier. But the queen was prideful and was aware of the sides her people took. She would not suffer a weak, meager victory.

The Queen, as well, would not suffer a loss. She knew of a bull just as valuable as the one in her husband's pasture, the red-eyed beast known as Thunderhead. The queen tasked her best men to go to the owner of Thunderhead, the barbarian lord.

The trek was only three days, and the Lord, despite his monkier, was one well versed in the old ways. He greeted the Queen's men with a hearty feast, and filled their bellies and cups until they were full. After this welcome, a general asked the barbarian lord the request from their Queen, to Loan thunderhead and breed him with a cow from her herd. To everyone's surprise, the Barbarian Lord had heard of the dispute between the King and Queen, and in fact, wanted the Queen to be wealthier! He heartily accepted the general's demand and would give them Thunderhead in the morning.

The director, after recounting the current story, told Monsoon that the troupe did not know where to move the story. Some in his cast believed it should end there, as some statement about art and expectations. The director, however, did not feel this way, as he believed their should be a story, and conflict. He looked to Monsoon, wanting to probe his mind on how they should proceed. Did he believe the story should end this way?

Monsoon shook his head, standing from the seats and addressed the cast.

With eloquence, he explained that the story thus far felt more like background to a greater conflict, an echo of the argument between the king and queen. He did think the queen should achieve her goal, but not without consequence. He addressed the feast, in where many military men are drunk and well fed. He agreed that the Lord should be willing to give up Thunderhead. However, he questioned, what if they went to war over it?

This question raised some curious brows, but Monsoon continued. He explained that the Lord, though being peaceful with the queen, is not weak. And the queen sent her army. Monsoon raised another question, what if a solider, due to being drunk and well fed, burst out, saying that it was well and good that the Lord agreed, because if he hadn't the Queen's army would've taken the bull by force!

The cast gasp, perplexed, yet astounded by this possibility. Someone added, that the Lord would respond with rage, anger, and vehemence. He would curse the army and the queen and never give up the bull. He would kick them out. Once the army informed the queen of what happened, she would fly into a rage. Because she was prideful, she would go to war for Thunderhead, to gain a true victory over her husband.

The director added, that then the performance, could be about two warriors. Brothers, who trained and found themselves on opposite sides, thrust into battle due to forces much greater than them. The climax of their second act would be a glorious battle, between two warriors. Though opposed by ideals, they would be one in mind. Tragically, one will die, and the other would have to live with this guilt.

Monsoon added, that this theme could be explored, perhaps a story of healing, and of the understanding of conflicts, could aid some in these times.

With their plot fleshed out, the troupe continued, thankful for Monsoon's aid.

Revisiting the Arts? [Multi Mission Thread,D Rank] Empty Re: Revisiting the Arts? [Multi Mission Thread,D Rank]

Mission Name:
Monsoon entered the lobby of the black box theatre and went to his robe, still hung on the rack near the entrance. Sliding his arms into silk sleeves, he exits the theatre. He reaches into the inside pocket of his robe. Puling out folded parchment, he unrolls the scroll and reads the address to his next assignment he's washed in the outside, afternoon sun of Hoshigakure. He looks around to get his bearings before stashing the mission scroll in his robe's pocket.

He takes the back path to the building, choosing to walk the winding paths of tight packed residences. His mind wanders in ways similar to the roads he treads, he questions himself and his purpose. As it stood, Monsoon Uchiha's start to becoming in a shinobi lie in assisting Aegon with his ultimate goal, Scala ad Caelum, a purported fount of unrestricted power and a location. Though his conviction burned strong, the Uchiha felt hollow, as if by just assisting he is not reaching his own power. Passing through shadows of slant rooftops, Monsoon, feeling some phantom ache, rubs his eyes.

As he still had some kilometers to go, Monsoon would go to his mind's scape, to sift through his thoughts as he made his way to the building marked by the painter's guild, to a palace of illusions between his chakra and his mind, dreams and consciousness. He saw himself as he was, strong and with potential. Were he another shinobi, he would be proud with who he was. However, something upon the horizon would cast a shadow, as its presence would block out the light in the mind scape. What was seen was familiar, a demon wall with a viscous snarl. Yet behind it, was blocked out the light, was a great wakazashi whose hilt bore the regalia of the Hoshimura clan. The blade, both present and not, reflected a brilliant image. Not one of the mindscape, but of a mountain bathed in gold.

Though at the horizon, Monsoon quaked as he stared at the edge of the wakazashi, feeling that, if it chose to, it could slice him in twain before Monsoon would realize it. Nay, in this palace of illusions, Monsoon would have his sharingan, and would know that he would see it as it came down: but still would not be able to stop it.

The Uchiha would scan his surroundings, in the golden glow of the blade, they seemed promising. Yet, a rumble from the opposite horizon would tremor the ground, a great beast would not accept such meagre victory. The land, glinted gold, around Monsoon began to smoke. Embers, at the behest of the beast's roar, sprinkled upon the land, crackling into pockets of sparking flame. A great wind pick up these sparks, spreading a glorious inferno that consumed all around. The sky above would shift and turn white, the sun would blink into a sharingan Monsoon had never seen before. The inferno would darken until it became black. Seizing from the heat and pain brought by this terrible flame, Monsoon would fall to the ground. The air would be thick with burning smoke, his throat could not produce a scream. When he was at the brink of death, a sight made its way to the center of his vision. A warrior clad in black flames, with that same, magnificently unfamiliar sharingan he saw before. As he consciences in the mind scape faded, Monsoon Uchiha was brought back to the present reality, in front of an unpainted building with cans of color lined in front.

The painter's guild was kind of enough to math the colors with the parts of the building that needed painting and even offered a concept of what the final piece should look like. The Uchiha scanned the building, to gain and idea of what it would look like when place in the space.

The building chosen was a library, nestled between a pediatric hospital and one of the ninja academy. As it was, it matched the white limestone of the hospital, and the striking royal blue line that marked all buildings under the hogokage's protection. The mural picked by the painter's guild was a depiction of the sun rising over a coast, a scene that could be found if one left the village gates. It was chosen because the head painter felt the scene of a rising sun, with the colors and clouds and it meaning the start of a new day, would draw some curious students into the library. There, new interests would dawn on the potential shinobi, which would lead to a glorious future for hoshigakure.

Monsoon grabbed the small concept and the first can of paint. His eyes twirled into the red sharingan, his three tomoe scanned the image. With a flex of his back and calves, he'd activate his cosmos stride and hover above the ground. With the image and color memorized as well as his ease of movement, he would recreate the image, using the paint, on the face of the library.

Starting with a base, he would coat the top with a pale, gray blue, leaving a white splotch in the center, one with blank rays that spoked to the ends. The bottom would be coated with a dull, light tan, and would end above the royal blue strike that marked the entrance of the library. Using deep brown, he would strike at spaces in the tan area, creating soft spindles that cropped about. He would also frame spaces of the white rays, fanning out to the edge of the face of the library. With lighter browns, he molded the tan area, creating rushing seams of water swept sand. With lush greens, he would cloud the brown spindles, creating shapes of greenery, depicting beach sprouted pants. Flicking green droplets across, he created seaside grass. At the edge of the sand and the gray blue space, white was used to craft morning tide, emanating from a blank horizon. With indigo, the sea the created the beach was borne, seeming particularly calm: awaiting an adventurer to sail  its blank skies.

Using purples, the edge of the horizon was crafted, born by a hand both precise and strong. Wisps of wind, dyed a light shader, swept through this far sky, guiding the waves that swept the beach. Warm red followed, spilling from the center of a rising star, dying some parts of the sky in its glow and splashing its warmth on the grass and sand. With a brilliant blue, the rest of the sky was dyed and a new born day was created. With bright yellows, the raise of the rise star shined into the pupil of those who happened upon the beach, and sprinkled its light like dew upon the water and sand. With a final orange, the sun was brushed into existence, ready to herald the new day and welcome any passerby into the horizon that lie beyond.

Monsoon scanned his work. The mural was completed. He left the paint where the mission scroll instructed and left the area, allowing the late sun to dry the painted mural on the library.
