Justice Burns

Mission:

Kouji was walking swiftly towards the location of the next estimated burn site. He was supposed to meet an ally there and attempt to catch the culprit in the act. He hoped there wouldn't be much fighting. Even though he had recently tapped into his Yuki heritage and been capable of utilizing the ice element, he still trembled at the memory of his first moments utilizing it. His uncle, a rebel and traitor sought to overthrow the village's leadership in order to establish a Kirigakure that was once again separate from the shadow Hoshigakure cast over it. Somehow his plans had involved capturing Kouji and they'd ended up in a deadly duel that almost cost him and his three allies their lives. He took no pride in his new ability, but he hoped it would help him protect others in the future, such as the farmers whose livelihoods were being destroyed by this onslaught of fires.

It was thinking this that he noticed the beginning trail of smoke in the distance, towards his mission meet up spot. With a curse, Kouji wove hand signs Dog, Rat, Boar, Ram and cast Chilling advance. A sheet of ice spread in front of him and he began to skate with increased speed along it towards the farm. Hopefully, if he got there quick enough he could catch the arsonist and end this once and for all. He hoped his ally hadn't arrived early, as he may already be caught up in the growing conflagration.

Signing up for a sudden mission of high demands, Heibon'na sought to expand her repertoire of experience with a variety of missions being tasked out and needed to be accomplished. The Generic Shinobi of Kirigakure noticed another name had registered to undergo such an important mission and simply added her name to the list. It was going to be hopefully an efficient mission undertaken but one that would prove beneficial for her own desire to train and acquire experience. With much to still learn, Heibon'na was excited to involve herself more.

As someone who lived off the sea, she felt for farmers as she aimed to swiftly meet up, Heibon'na spotted a curious individual who was skating his way forward as she picked up her own speed to catch up with the teen. Normally one to be cordial in such matters, she also had spotted the smokestack before them that they were approaching. She focused herself on avoiding overstepping onto the ice sheet he was making as she simply gave a nod in affirmation, "Hello there Cousin. Looks like I will be joining on this mission." She declared as she showcased a smile in hopes of appeasing the apparent anxiety the fellow Kirigakuran Shinobi was encountering. "We got this." She included as she shifted her attention away from Kouji and towards the farms they were approaching.

The hopes of catching the arsonist were in their favor this time as the arsonist had just begun to burn the barn and was standing on top of the farmhouse overlooking the fields, seeking to find more creative ways to expose the weakness of Kirigakure. Keeping her focus on the man in the distance, she called out to Kouji as they approached, "See if you can bring his attention to you, I will try to sneak around cousin." She declared as she made the quick set of signs for the classic and iconic technique of the village hidden in the mist, the Hidden Mist Technique. "Make an entrance!" She encouraged her fellow shinobi as she darted forward opening up the Gate of Life, her skin began to redden in color as the mist began to form being combined with the heat she was producing added to the mist in the method of steam.

Her goal from there was to make a rolling mist and fog bank towards the farmland to bring their target's attention towards the duo but to also allow her sudden burst of speed to go towards the fire itself, hiding between various structures doting the landscape approaching the farm, leaving Kouji to take up the front approach as she aimed assess how to user the fire to her advantage in taking down this pyromaniac as she moved towards the barn for a better angle while her teammate did his best to bring the attention towards him to potentially provide a chance for her to better see if others were present causing more problems, it truly was unlikely for a lone defector.

Kouji's question of his ally's whereabouts was soon answered as Heibon'na ran up beside him and greeted him. "Hello there Cousin. Looks like I will be joining on this mission. We got this."

Kouji nodded to her acknowledgment before she added, "See if you can bring his attention to you, I will try to sneak around cousin. Make an entrance!"

"Will do," he said as they rapidly approached their destination. He could see the arsonist on top of the barn before Heibon'na formed some hand seals and a swirl of mist began to take over the area. It was interesting watching the fog mix in with the smoke, the two gases competing for dominance. He could tell what parts of them mixed and battled as the mist was denser and black where they intermingled. Working on his own plan of action Kouji's hands began to form handseals, separately forming two different techniques. As he completed the seals he began to spew water from his mouth it shifted and changed until it formed into a clone of him. in the mean time a variety of ice needles formed in the air around him, grouped together into a deadly formation on either side of him. He maintained the jutsu and kept them at the ready as he emerged from the mist below the arsonist.

"Give up now or I will engage using lethal force!" Kouji shouted as he locked eyes with the arsonist.

The man wore a black mask that obscured the majority of his face. His white hair blew softly with the heated breeze from the fire. He wore the black outfit of a ninja clearly on a stealth mission, but somehow as he spotted Kouji and heard his words his eyes crinkled, as if he were grinning. His hands formed an assortment of handseals before he launched a variety of small fireballs from his mouth and launched them at Kouji.

"So much for the easy way..." Kouji muttered to himself as he launched his ice needles in retaliation and began moving to dodge the incoming fireballs. His clone moved in the opposite direction but was not lucky enough to evade more than a fireball or two and exploded in a bout of steam. Kouji was luckier but felt an intense heat as a fireball crashed behind him, its intense heat licking the back of his arms. In the mean time he couldn't see if his needles had scored a hit on his opponent and he simply tried to find cover before he figured out his next move. He hoped Heibon'na had a better plan than he did. Their opponent was not holding back.
