Ilvari's placement test of 3. Pt 1,2, and 3

Ilvari woke up for the early morning and found herself lying in bed for what seemed like hours. Her eyes constantly closing and sending her to a light sleep before waking her up again. Looking out the window she could see it was early morning and that she had something to do today but could not for the life of her remember what it was. She continued to think hard about it in between her dozing sessions. grabbing at a basket next to her table she found something she was looking for. A wrapped piece of candy that she slowly unfolded without looking and popped it in her mouth.

"Mmmmhhhhh" she would make a sound of satisfaction as she continued to doze off into the blissful sleep. Until of course her door was slammed open and she was startled awake, sitting up quickly to see what was going on and choking on the candy she had just placed in her mouth.

"Ack! Mom, whats going on!"

Her mom looked at her and the room itself which had scattered clothes and stuffed animals all over and shook her head. She was flustered and quickly grabbed some clean clothes from the hangers in the closet and threw them on the bed. Reaching for a brush she pointed it at Ilvari.

"You need to hurry up or your going to be late for your first trial!"

After taking a moment to finish popping the candy out of her throat she sluggishly leaned forward, head touching her knees and groaned.

"Ugh mom, is that today? I thought it was next week..."

Her mom slammed the brush on her hand making a beating motion and pointed it back at Ilvari.

"Get up and get yourself together this is a very important day for you. I don't want you going out of the house looking like the living dead!"

That was the last thing Ilvari was going to do. Leave the house looking like a mess but she was also very tired. She had barely gotten any sleep last night due to reading her books all night. She was in the middle of some kind of story about armies fighting the undead ice king or something. She could not remember and did not have time to as her mother dragged her out of bed and in front of the mirror. there she began brushing her hair and preparing her for the day.

"Ow, mom not so rough I don't need split ends." Ilvari would complain as she began her ritual of putting on light makeup to make herself feel better. She had done it so many times now that it was second nature to her. perfecting the art almost. Finally with her hair and make up done she put on her new outfit picked out just for this day and went down to eat breakfast with the family.

It was her favorite one too. It looked like her mom was up hours before her preparing it all. Ilvari felt a little bad that she had woken up late now after seeing all the work that went into this. She sat down carefully ate her food and once she was full she put her plate in the sink and smiled to her mom.

"I'll be off then!"

She took a step outside and smiled as the warm sun beat down on her. Today was the start of a new chapter in her life. She was about to begin her training as a ninja for the Tsukigakure Village. Now that she was a awake and prepared she was estatic about the idea of finally doing something with her life. Although she could do without the early morning routine...

She made her way to the hospital where she would check in. Seeing a list of other students waiting for their turn she smiled. She was of course the best looking among them all since most of them seemed to just have gotten out of bed. Once it was her turn she gracefully made her way to the scale and weighed herself. 112 lbs was the recorded weight...

"Wait no I had a big meal I am actually 110 lbs I promise!"

The nurse smiled and shook her head. "It's a perfectly fine weight young lady, in fact you could use a few more pounds since you will be burning them a lot on missions!"

Next was her height and other vital signs. Her doctor was the one giving her the exam so she was more comfortable with talking with her. She finished the exam and was given the results. B+ grade. Its passing but she frowned. She was a perfect model why was her score so low? Looking at the sheet it said that her sugar content was a bit on the higher side and her weight could use a slight increase which took her score down but it was way more than passable for the academy. She frowned for a moment before returning to a neutral expression. "Don't want to get wrinkles now...But come on I am the peak of health!"

Once completed with the physical exam she was escorted along with many other students to the academy where they would all take a test together. She was not looking forward to that as she hated written tests. They were so boring and most of the time she barely passed them when training with her tutor. Arriving at the academy she noticed that it was larger than she remembered it being. She was not sure but it could be because she never actually went up to it in the past.

"I am gonig to be training here from now on huh?"

She said quietly to herself but another student caught her talking and replied.

"Only if you pass the exam shrimp!" He would laugh in a mocking tone and continue walking into the classroom.

That set her off quickly. She was normally really polite to people but this kid rubbed her the wrong way. She would compose herself as quickly as she could but the blood was boiling. She was ready to slug that little punk. Another girl walked up next to her and gave an appologetic smile.

"Don't worry, you'll do just fine..." She said bashfully as they both walked into the school. "My name is Saita Emui, Nice to meet you."

Ilvari gave her normal polite smile and responded. "The pleasure is mine Miss Emui, I am Ilvari of the Yamaguchi Clan."

The girl pondered for a moment and then her eyes lit up. "Oh, right, your the clan that deals with the dead right? I would not expect someone so beautiful to come from a clan like that!" She shivered for a moment after repeating the line under her breath. "Oh sorry I didn't mean any disrespect!"

Ilvari shook her head gently and smiled. "It's alright I get that alot. yes my clan does deal with the dead quite often. Its a profession as well as our ninja technique." They sat down next to each other and the boy from earlier spit a spitball at Ilvari.

"Ha, take that zombie girl!"

Ilvari felt disgusted at the thought of someones spit hitting her cheek. She turned around and looked at the boy and gave a very ominously gentle smile to him.

"I can't wait until you die...the things I will make you do in the afterlife..."

The boy looked at her scared out of his mind and looked down at his exam paper. With that the teacher entered the room. A young man with dark blue hair and a sharp expression.

"Alright now everyone find a seat and quiet down. We will begin the second exam. Don't worry its not too hard, we mainly want to know where your knowledge is starting out. You can fail this test but I have yet to see anyone actually do so. You will have 1 hour to answer as many questions as you can. Each question gets harder the further down you go and will really test what you know. You do not need to answer them all to pass in fact I expect most of you to only answer the first 3. Once the clock hits 1 you may begin."

Ilvari looked at her new friend and smiled. "Good luck Miss Emui."

The girl shook her head and smiled back. "Please call me Saita,"

Nodding gently Ilvari responded. "Then call me Ilvari."

The clock struck 1 and the test began she flipped her sheet over and saw 12 questions on the sheet the first three were fairly simple in direction but the next three began asking for formulas and logic that she was not at all really familar with except for the first one in that list. questions 7-12 were completely out of her reach. She would look over the questions slowly a few times before starting to answer them.

Question 1. What is the three main types of jutsu?
Answer- Ninjutsu, Genjutsu and Taijutsu

that was simple she had read all about them in her books. Although they were fiction and not real they did hold knowledge that would help her in this test.

Question 2. Which jutsu type works best with the senses?
Answer- Genjutsu

She knew that one too!, she was excited as she was really getting the answers down quickly. She knew genjutsu was used for the senses cause one of her heroes in a book she had recently read used genjutsu to get information out of a warlord. She smirked and went onto the next question.

Question 3. Whats the best element to use against fire jutsu.
Answer- Water Element

Another one down. She almost put wind but remembered that it was actually weak to fire not strong against it. "That was close!" She thought to herself. Water was her favorite element the assassins in her novels always used cool assassin based techniques using mist and water.

Question 4. What is a Nindo, Bonus points- What is your nindo?
Answer- A nindo is a special promise made to ones self a code that they live by and die for.

She considered doing the bonus points but was told by her parents to not talk about her love for blood so she decided to not fill it in. She would rather not lie about her nindo as that was very important to who she was as a person.

Question 5. If two ninja capture an ally and demand you kill your other partner to free the captured partner and you only have 30 seconds to decide. what do you do?
Answer- Left blank

that was really tough, how do you even gauge that kind of question! she had no clue how to answer that and so she decided to end her exam there. She had answered 4 of the 12 questions meaning she was at least slightly ahead of the average which made her content with it. The hour went by and everyone turned in their papers. The teacher graded each one and put a chart out for everyone to see.

Saita was towards the top with 6 questions answered out of 12.
another student was second with 5 questions and Ilvari was 4th with 4 questions answered only beated by another girl who answered the bonus question. Seeing the boy who picked on her get upset she could tell she had beaten him in ranking. He was in 6th place. She looked at him and gave her ominous smile. he make a tsk sound and rolled his eyes.

"That concludes the second part of the exam. I now have a better understanding of where you all stand in terms of knowledge and what needs to be taught in our history lessons. Please proceed to the springs for your final test. I wish you all the best of luck in this as now that you have all passed this exam I will inform you all that only half of you will pass the final exam. Good luck everyone I can't wait to see who passed tomorrow."

Ilvari looked to her new friend and they giggled to each other.

They all made their way to the springs and saw their last instructor for the day. A woman with a scar over her left eye and spiky dark green hair she looked like a war torn solder and one who had seen better days. The instructor looked at everyone and frowned.

"This is a lot of students this time around...Well looks like we will be here all day..."

She pulled out a scroll and began reading it in a robotic voice. As if she had said this multiple times in her life and has it memorized.

"We will now begin the third and final exam. A spar with another person in order to determine who will pass and who will have to take the exam again next month. In order to be considered passing you have to either get the other person to leave the circle behind me or get them to forfeit some other way. No weapons will be used and if you know any jutsu prior to this you are free to use them." She would pause for a moment. "Any questions?"

Everyone looked at each other nervously but Ilvari was pumped. She looked at the boy who was annoying her all day and smirked. He looked at her with a confident grin and whispered. "You're going down, shrimp."

The matches were first come first serve, Saita went first going against another girl her age and build. Saita performed a substitution jutsu which surprised everyone including her opponent who went out of the circle after stumbling past her illusion. more rounds went until there were only a handful of students left including Ilvari and the punk. Ilvari decided to raise her hand to go next and imediatly the boy chimmed in with a raise hand as well. They both entered the circle and Ilvari smiled. She was ready for this more than anything she wanted to show that punk who was boss.

The match began and the boy made some hand signs which surprised Ilvari. The boy called out. "Clone jutsu!" He had produced 2 clones each one an exact replica of him and they all began moving in directions that made it hard to pinpoint which one was him. He laughed as he continued to confuse Ilvari.

"I have been training for a year and have taken the test 4 times now. No way am I going to lose to some dead newbie girl!" He would continue to mock her over and over again as he would come in for a swing and she would move back to dodge only to get hit in the back with the actual punch. Turning and twisting to attack the one who hit her she would not connect and stumble forward almost leaving the circle but not quite.

The boy grabbed her by the arm as she was about to leave the circle and slammed her back into the arena on her butt. Mocking her. "Oh no zombie I am not letting you get away that easy!" Ilvari stood back up, or tried to at least but kept getting knocked down by the bully. Punch after punch, kick after kick she felt her body getting brusied by the boy. She was getting upset now, this punk was ruining her makeup and making her look ugly and that was something she was not going to let slide. Standing up and raising her arms to defend herself she closed her eyes and concentrated. Just like the heroes in her books she listened to the mocking. It was crowded at first with the cheering outside but once she blocked that out she could tell just where it was coming from.

A punch and two kicks would come her way but she dodged one of the kicks letting the other punch and kick move through her and used her fist to slam as hard as she could into the jaw of the bully. It connected and with it a crack could be heard. the boys clones disapeared and what was left was a bully with a broken jaw.

"Looks like your little trick wasn't enough... Hurry up admit defeat..."

the boy would try to speak but his jaw was broken he could only groan.

"Oh look at that, who's the zombie now!"

The bully looked dizzy and passed out in the arena. A burst of cheers could be heard all around her and she looked at the crowd. She smiled before hitting the ground herself.

waking up from the whole ordeal took a few hours but when she did she found herself in the hospital again. Saita looking over her and quickly coming to her when she saw she was awake.

"Are you alright?!" She would ask startled and worried.

"No..." was all Ilvari said.

Saita was even more worried "Whats wrong!"

Ilvari sat up slowly and groaned. "My face, he messed up my face really good and everyone saw the ugly side of me..."

Saita paused for a moment and then giggled. "Ilvari what they saw was a legend in the making. You took down someone twice your size who knew the Clone jutsu and you did it with one punch!" She would hug her new friend. "I think what they saw was beautiful!"

embracing her friend she smiled. "Thanks, Saita..."

The doctor and the spar instructor entered the room. The doctor smiled and the instructor looked very impressed. Her first words were.

"You made Ikawa eat dirt kid. I know he really wanted to be a ninja but damn girl you really showed him whos boss. Can't wait to see what kind of ninja you become in the future." She handed Ilvari a laminated card that had a photo that was taken at the start and her name and rank. "Welcome to the academy Ilvari Yamaguchi."
