At the mention of a Leaf Shinobi, Kumiko spun around and drew her kunai in earnest. When she saw him, however, her guard lowered a bit. He was keeping his distance, and he seemed at ease. She began to back away slowly, keeping her eyes locked on the Fire Nation citizen, until she bumped into Yuri. This caused her to jump and spin around with a startled yelp. In the process of spinning, running purly on instinct, Kumiko brought the Kunai around in a quick, precise arc, the point of it aimed directly at Yrui's temple.

Given Yuri prowess, simply lowered her upper body to avoid the incoming object coming at her. This is due to the fact that Kumiko's entire attack looked as if it took her nearly a minute for the whole throw to be completed. Even so, Yuri kept her mood of fight intact as she began her part by running towards her. Within 10 meters away from her, Yuri starts in run in circles with Kumiko at her center. To her, to make it look seemingly like she has something in her mind, she kept the circling going. She is guessing that kumiko might make use of the current situation.

Kumiko was so startled when Yuri dodged her kunai, she actually dropped it. She had swung that kunai as fast as she could, and the other girl had ducked under it like the two motions had been rehearsed. How could she have been stupid enough to leave the Village alone, and then get caught up in this mess? Then Yuri began to run around Kumiko. So fast that Kumiko could only see a blurr of movement. How could she fight that??

An idea struck Kumiko. She couldn't fight that speed, so she would force that speed to fight her. She took up her fighting stance. She stood fully erect with her feet together. Her left arm folded behind her back, while her right extended outward, hand open, palm facing the open sky. The young girl, only an academy student, closed her eyes and listened. She heard only a rush of wind at first. Then, she heart a rush of wind and the trees. Then, finally, she could make out individual footsteps in the cocophony of noise that was Yuri running in circles. Kumiko remained in this stance, waiting, listening.

Yuri saw the actions that Kumiko did while circling. She muttered to herself my morning warm-ups? Trained blade would never do something simple as that. As expected of her, Yuri continued at her pace for a few more rounds as an idea struck her. Yuri thinks that if kumiko cant go on an offense to pick her out, it might mean she is preparing something to get on pars. She decided to test her out by going out to her in close contact right by her side while keeping her speed and attempts to smack the back of her left hand.

Pat pat pat pat pat pat pat pat pat pat pat pat is all Kumiko heard as she focused only on the sound of Yuri's movement. Adrenaline was coursing through her body, sped along by the quickened heartbeat cause by fear. Kumi could tell the other girl was far, far superior to herself, and she had no desire to die today. Or any day, for that matter. She refused to let herself die until she had avenged her parents.

Suddenly, for only a second, the footsteps started coming in her direction. This was it. Instead of trying to dodge whatever attack was coming her way, Kumiko decided that it would be a better idea for her foot to be where her opponents face was going to be in only a moment. To her left, slightly behind her. Summoning every ounce, every last drop of speed that the poor girl could muster, Kumi raised her leg and extended it out toward the space she hoped Yuri's head would soon be occupying. She knew in her heart that if she missed, any attack against here would surely hit it's target, and she would lose this fight.

Yuri was close to be kicked on her face when her plan is in action. Retaliation was not at her precise expectations when Kumiko raised her leg early. It might not be a problem but it is enough to let Yuri think otherwise. She aborted her plan as she allows her face to brush the ankles of Kumiko so that she could punch her leg upwards for her to lose balance. At the same time, she slowed down her pace for a second in order to try just that. Her footsteps had to be balanced at the right instance or else she could suffer a counter given despite her advantage due to her weak muscles.

Kumiko allowed herself to be relieved for a split second. She hadn't expected that attack to actually accomplish anything, but it had not only prevented such a speedy attack, but forced her opponent to slow down! She did not allow herself to lower her guard, however. She had left herself slightly open by extending her leg as far as she had, and needed to recover somehow.

The second Kumi felt Yuri's cheek brush against her leg, her eyes snapped open. She withdrew her leg and lept sideways, avoiding the brunt of the on-comming blow to her leg. She wasn't fast enough to avoid it all-together, though. Yuri's fist connected with Kumi's heel before she could move out of the way, causing her ankle to over-extend, nearly spraining it.

'Damn! She's too fast!' she muttered under her breath as she landed several feet away, keeping the weight off of her left ankle. It wasn't badly injured, but it hurt like all hell... This was going to greatly complicate matters. Thinking again that it might be best to stay on the defensive, she resumed her previous stance and glared at Yuri, hatred and lust for blood nearly causing her amber eyes to turn red.

A rather small body would be seen approaching in the distance, nearing the two people that were sparring. As he neared, his Kirigakure forehead protector would be tied proudly around his forehead, along with his long sleeved shirt adorning his torso. It'd be obvious that he was 8 from his size and the way he looked. As he got nearer to the two, he began to see what looked like a brawl. 'Awesome, something's going to happen!' A wide grin formed on the lips of Xyxer as he began to near the two, getting a better view of what was happening. Moving one hand over the top of his eyes to block out the sun, he would watch the two that were sparring from a distance; believing it to be a real fight.

His free hand dangled by his side and scratched his leg a little as he wondered if he should interfere, able to tell that the other was far more speedy than the other. 'Perhaps she's got a better chakra flow than the speed demon..' Xyxer thought to himself, his eyes continuing to run over the small movements the two made. He smiled to himself once more as he thought, 'I wonder if this is what it's like to be a puppeteer.. If it is, it must be rather good'. Shaking the thought from his head, he continues to watch the spar from the sidelines.

Overestimation seems evident as it led to a missed chance in this case. Yuri simply let her target go away as she stares back at her. Checking the other stronger participant for any motions from his side, another presence seems to be taking form. Not time for chat yet, Yuri raised her guard for it and gets her comfortable stance ready. She has no intention of doing something that anyone in the area might regret. Even though Kumiko seems to look uncomfortable, it is inevitable or else there would be no offense from her side. Resuming back to start, Yuri decided to wait for Kumiko to try something again.
