Denkiteki's training Empty Denkiteki's training

Chakra Training-1,234 WC
+6 chakra

Denkiteki and his father stepped out and onto the training field. Both were dressed in semi-casual clothes, as neither of them had missions today. Denkiteki’s mom had told them they should go and hang out with each other, have some father son bonding time or something like that. They both decided that it meant they should go train together.

Denkiteki wore a light grey T-shirt, and shorts that stopped right after his knees. Even though he didn’t have missions he still wore his forehead protector, proudly showing off his rank as a Genin of Kirigakure. His father wore a similar outfit. However he had left his headband at home.

“Alright, just so you know I am not used to teaching, so this isn’t going to go that well.” His dad said with a laugh. His father was a special Jounin. He specialized in medical Ninjutsu though, and was more of a doctor then a fighter. He was still better than Denkiteki though, but hopefully not for long.

Denkiteki smirked at his dad’s comment, even though his dad wasn’t the best shinobi, he knew he would at least learn something from their training. “Teach me about Medical Ninjutsu, you know I have been dying to learn how to use it.”

“If that is what you want, let’s train your chakra control. I know you are pretty decent at controlling your chakra, but your still not good enough yet to learn that sort of technique. That is what I think at least.”

“Let’s get to it then; what do you have in mind?”

Denkiteki’s father pointed to a nearby river. It was rather thin but it was a few feet deep, and would serve the purpose that Denkiteki’s dad had in mind. “You are going to fight me while walking on that. They taught you the water walking technique in school right? Well let’s see just how good you are at using it.”

Denkiteki smirked, this test would be easy. Or so he thought…

Both of them walked onto the river, using their chakra to stop them from falling into the water. While his father walked on the river like it was nothing, Denkiteki walked noticeably slower than he normally did on land.

“Is that it? You’ve been a Genin for 4 years now. I thought you would do better.” His dad said with a laugh, before continuing, “What we are going to do is, I am going to attack you, and you are going to try to fight back while also trying not to fall into the water. I’ll go easy on you though, it seems like you haven’t mastered this technique completely yet.”

Denkiteki’s face twisted into a rare frown as his father talked to him, but quickly turned into a smirk, “No, I’ll go easy on you old man.”

His father laughed for a moment, before rushing forward towards Denkiteki. Surprised, Denkiteki’s concentration lapsed for a moment, and began to fall into the water. He quickly regained his composure, and managed to channel his chakra back to his feet. Stepping back, he managed to block his dad’s first punch. The foot sank into the water however, and he was caught off balance. His father took advantage of this and kicked him in the stomach, knocking him backwards and into the water.

Denkiteki’s body was fully submerged for a moment, and he remained below the surface for a moment as he thought to himself. I guess I shouldn’t be playing around now, what if someone’s watching? I didn’t think my dad would attack me so fast from the start. A smirked played across his face. He had downplayed his skill in the water walking technique from then start. He wasn’t the most skilled user of the technique, but he wasn’t as terrible as he had pretended to be.

Denkiteki channeled chakra to his legs, and slowly began to rise up from the water. A smile played across his face as his head surfaced, followed by his shoulders and then the rest of his body.

“I will admit that you caught me off guard, but I won’t let you do it to me again.”

His dad smiled back, before he began his attack again. This time Denkiteki kept his cool, and managed to block the first attack. His father led with a right armed punch towards his face, which Denkiteki moved to the side, forcing the fist over his shoulder with his left arm. He attempted a right armed punch, but his father stopped it with his fist before kicking Denkiteki in the chest with his left foot.

Denkiteki was knocked back from the attack, but managed to stay above the water. Landing on his feet, he recovered just in time to duck under a kick as his dad pressed the attacked once again. Denkiteki’s feet sunk into the water for a moment, he had been so focused on dodging the attack that he had forgotten to channel chakra to his feet. Before the water came up to his ankles though, he put chakra into his feet again, and managed to step back as his dad attempted to hit him again.

“Not to shabby, but you still have to do better.” Denkiteki’s dad moved quickly once again, so fast the young Genin couldn’t track him. Next thing he knew, his dads left leg moving towards him as his dad made a slide tackled towards his right leg. Denkiteki raised his foot over his dad’s, and brought it up to kick his father in return, but his dad stopped and used the leg he had tried to slide tackle Denkiteki with to kick him in the back of the leg.

Denkiteki fell down and into the water, though he did try to channel chakra into his back to avoid falling in. He only accomplished making a big plash in the water as he used way too much chakra. This time Denkiteki remained in the water for a bit longer, trying to think of a way to maybe even beat his dad.

He’s way faster than me, there’s no way I can beat him. I should have held back longer, and then caught him by surprise. I don’t stand a… Before Denkiteki could finish the thought, a hand grabbed the fro not his shirt and pulled him out of the water. Denkiteki’s dad held him so that his upper body was barely out of the water, and was leaning over him in a relaxed pose.

“You didn’t do to bad, but you still have a long way to go. I know we didn’t fight long, but I don’t think you will learn much more from this method of teaching. We’ll try to figure something out next time. Let’s go get something to eat, and then maybe I will try to teach you a technique or something.” Denkiteki’s dad smiled, and then pushed him back down into the water. Denkiteki trashed for a moment before regaining his senses and using his chakra to get back on top of the water.

“You only won because we were fighting on water, next tie I will beat you!” Denkiteki said, a big grin stretching across his face.

“We’ll see about that, but not today though.” His father smiled back at him and both got out of the water and made their way back to the village to get something to eat.

Denkiteki's training Empty Re: Denkiteki's training

Speed Training- 2081 WC
+10 speed

Denkiteki used to think he was fast. When he had been in the Academy, he could outrun the other kids, and had won many hand to hand fights on speed alone. But now that he was a Genin, trying to become a Chunnin, he realized that he had neglected his training to much, and that now he was slow. I can’t let these other kids beat me, I have to be able to keep up with them, no I have to be able to run circles around all of them.

Denkiteki had gotten up that morning ready to train. He ate a light breakfast, and got into some fitting pants, a loose T-shirt with short sleeves, and some running shoes. Other than that he only wore his village headband, with its metal plate on that front and the black fabric that he used to tie it around his head.

After getting ready he set out for the training field, wondering just how he would go about making himself faster. His first thought was running a lot, but that would just increase his stamina more than his speed. He would still do that though, but he decided to start by exercising his legs.

After arriving at the training grounds, Denkiteki started by doing some stretches. He mostly focused on stretching his legs out, it would be stupid if he pulled something or cramped up while training. He did this for only a short time, all the while thinking about how fast he would become. He wasn’t stupid enough to think he would become as fast as that boy from the Leaf village, or even Xyxer who was from his own, from only one day of training. But by the time he was done, he vowed he would be significantly faster.

Finally done stretching, Denkiteki decided it was time to get to the actual training. He started with some simple exercises, doing lunges and other such things in order to strengthen his leg muscles. He wanted to work on his running speed first, that was extremely important. He knew he would need to work on his reaction time, but moving fast was what he thought he needed to do first. His ability to react quickly would come after.

Denkiteki exercised his legs until they ached, putting weights on them and lifting them up while lying prone, stretching them while carrying weights in his hand. Only a few hours into his training, and he already felt done. He dropped the weights he had been holding at the time, and fell on the ground, breathing hard. Come on you wimp, get back up. You’re not done yet. Tired as he was, Denkiteki forced himself back to his feet. Remembering that Uchiha boy from Konoha, and how his Shadow Clone had attacked him so fast, Denkiteki picked up his weights again.

I will never let that happen again. I will never again be weak. I am Denkiteki of the Mist, and one day I will make sure everyone knows who I am. I will become not only a great Medical-nin, but a great warrior as well. Even more determined then before, Denkiteki continued to exercise, Ignoring the pain in his legs.

Denkiteki continued for hours, before finally collapsing once again. This time he decided he should rest, and more or less dragged himself under a tree. He got into a sitting position and leaned into the tree. His body was covered in a thin layer of sweat, which felt cool against his skin. He had only planned on resting for a few minutes, but almost immediately after sitting against the tree he began to doze off, and he quickly passed out under the tree.

When Denkiteki awoke, there were a lot of people training around him. When he had arrived earlier he had been alone, now there were at least a dozen or maybe even two dozen other shinobi training. How long was I out? He looked up at the sky and saw the sun was higher up in the sky, though not quite at the center. That meant it was either late morning or early afternoon. After a few more moments of trying to catch his bearings, figuring out where east and west were, he found that it was late in the morning, so he hadn’t slept for but so long.

Denkiteki’s body felt sore as he got up, and he definitely regretted sitting down against a tree to take a rest. Never again was all he thought as he got to his feet, and began to stretch all of his muscles in an attempt to relieve himself of the soreness. It took him a few moments to stretch himself to the point that he felt that he wasn’t terribly sore, and when that was done he looked again at the other shinobi training. Most of them were sparring, though there seemed to be a few Genin teams doing drills given to hem by their teacher. Denkiteki smiled as he watched one group being forced to block blunt shurikens thrown by their sensei. He remembered doing that with his team once, a couple years back when he had been considered a prodigy.

Denkiteki didn’t let himself think about those times, it would only make him feel worse about his current state. The past two years had not been good to him, hitting puberty at a young age had made him lanky and clumsy, as he kept going through growth spurts. And when the rest of his team had become Chunnin and his Jounin mentor had left him, he had begun to deteriorate skill wise. He went from a prodigy to a Nobody in a matter of years. Instead of remembering the past, he watched the kids that were around his age perform terribly as they trained.

One of the kids got hit in the face by a shuriken, and Denkiteki couldn’t stop himself from laughing as the kid fell down, grabbing his face and screaming. Denkiteki bent over for a moment as he laughed, and when he came up the boy was staring at him.

“It’s not as easy as you think asshole! I’d like to see you try this!” The kid was obviously embarrassed and mad.

Denkiteki smirked, “Alright fine, I’ll give it a try.”

Even though he wasn’t considered a prodigy anymore, he could at least do well in a simple exercise like the one they were doing. He had done quite well in the same exercise when he was younger, and his mentor had gone a lot harder on him than this guy did with his students.

The students all had kunai in their hand to use for blocking the shuriken, but when Denkiteki walked over to them, he carried no such weapon in his hand. The Jounin mentor pointed that out quickly, “You are gonna have a hard time blocking they shuriken without a kunai, unless you can catch them or block them with your hands.” The Jounin then laughed, “One of you, give him your knife.”

One of the other students stepped forward, holding out his kunai handle first. He seemed to be about Denkiteki’s age, though he probably hadn’t been a Genin for as long. Denkiteki shook his head though at the boy, “I thought I would try to dodge them, I have been working on my agility a bit and thought I should try something like that.” Denkiteki was grinning as he suggested the idea.

The Jounin shrugged, and then threw a kunai at Denkiteki’s forehead. It was fast, but Denkiteki managed to duck under it. The next one came low, and Denkiteki took his legs off the group and forced his body to become parallel towards the group in order to dodge the shuriken.

“You shouldn’t show off, it could end badly for you!” The Jounin said as he threw another shuriken, this one aimed between where the other two had gone, which was where Denkiteki was. Thrusting his hand onto the ground, Denkiteki grabbed the dirt and moved his body out of the way, before hitting the ground and rolling to his feet. He smirked at the Jounin as he completed the roll, and dodged yet another shuriken.

“You’re pretty good. But let’s see how fast you are.” The Jounin produced even more shuriken in his hand, and began throwing them in quick succession. Denkiteki began to dodge them, this time not being as much of a show off as before. He did his best not to move too much, and to not put himself in a position where he couldn’t dodge the next attack. Despite his efforts though, he did get hit a few times.

Each time he got hit the kid that Denkiteki had laughed at earlier gave him a piece of his own medicine, chuckling and smirking every time the Jounin landed a hit on Denkiteki. He was leaned up against a nearby tree, watching Denkiteki train. The young Genin tried to not let that faze him though, and continued to dodge. After awhile though, the kid began to bug him a lot, to the point that he began to get distracted. He started to get hit a few more times, all the while the kid began to laugh more and more. Eventually though, Denkiteki got tired of it. A shuriken aimed at Denkiteki’s face stopped right before it reached its target, caught between his index finger and his thumb.

Looking towards the boy, Denkiteki threw the shuriken, the boy didn’t even notice until it embedded itself into the tree behind him. The boy then stopped, surprised at first but then angry. “What the hell are you trying to do? That could have hurt me!”

The boy began to move towards Denkiteki, evidently ready to try and attack him, but his teacher appeared in front of him, “That would be a bad idea. He would wipe the floor with you at your current skill level,” He then turned to Denkiteki, “I don’t appreciate you scaring my student like that, but I suppose I should thank you for teaching him a lesson in humility. What is your name kid?”

“I’m Denkiteki.” Even though the Jounin seemed kind of annoyed that Denkiteki had scared his student, Den was happy for the compliment. His face went from one that was ready to beat up the other kid to his usual devious smirk.

The Jounin chuckled, “You’re that one kid that graduated after only a few years right? You’re the one that was supposed to be a prodigy? I remember hearing about you a few years back, but the talk stopped after you failed the Chunnin Exams not to long ago. What happened?”

Denkiteki’s smirk disappeared again as he looked towards the ground, “I don’t know, I guess I just didn’t work as hard after that. I trained hard before, always working towards becoming a Chunnin, but then I failed.”

“If you were a ninja worth anything you wouldn’t have given up!” Denkiteki looked up and saw the kid again. He had moved around his sensei and was staring at him, “I hate people like you. You are born gifted, but when something doesn’t go your way you just give up. You prodigies, you geniuses, you’re all the same. Everything is handed to you, but as soon as things get difficult you give up. That’s why, in the end, I am going to be better than you! Because I already knows what it’s like to work hard and fail. And I can pick myself up again, and train even harder so that next time I succeed.”

Denkiteki stared at the kid, surprised by his words. It was true, after failing the Chunnin exams he had sort of given up. He felt that he couldn’t do it, because he had failed before. But, even if it wasn’t his intention, that boy had inspired him, at least to a certain degree. He stopped staring at the kid, and smiled at him, “You’re right I did give up. I was a prodigy, but in the end that amounted to nothing. Well, from now on, I am going to work hard too. If you want to be better than me, you’re going to have your work cut out for you.”

Not giving the boy a chance to respond, Denkiteki waved to the group and made his way home, he was ready to eat and relax for the rest of the day.

Denkiteki's training Empty Re: Denkiteki's training

Mon Nov 12, 2012 11:30 pm
Denkiteki was a prodigy when it came to using Earth Release Techniques. Despite his age, he had managed to create 3 jutsu of his own, and all 3 of them were effective in their own way. In Kiri, he was one of the only ones even capable of using Earth Release, making him something special, and against the many Water Release users he had an advantage.

But having just Earth Release made him lack versatility. What if his opponent was on a tree, or a building? His Earth Release Techniques wouldn’t be near as useful then. He needed to be able to attack enemies that weren’t on the ground, and be able to attack them quickly. This gave him three elements to learn.

There was fire. Manipulation and creation of flames, techniques using this element could be devastating. Not to mention that smoke and heat were other useful attributes that fire had. Smoke could blind and hurt his opponent, even if his technique missed. And heat would hurt his enemy a lot as well. Fire also allowed for the user to generate flames from their mouth or other areas, making it useable in almost any environment. Denkiteki would also not have to worry about the element fire was weak against, water because of his Earth Element.

Lightning also had similar reasons for being a choice. It could be generated from the user, instead of having to draw upon a preexisting element. Lightning could also stun enemies if it electrocuted them enough, making openings that he could exploit easily. Not to mention lightning could be used to increase the cutting power of his new sword.

Wind was practically the opposite of Earth, and that was why Denkiteki thought it would be interesting to master. It would also add to his versatility, using techniques that involved manipulating the air instead of just the ground. Yeah, I think Wind is the element for me.

Denkiteki sat in his room, his back pressed against a giant coiled up snake. Katsuro stirred as Denkiteki moved to get up,” Have you decided? It has taken you long enough.” The snake would say with a chuckle, “I suppose I will return home now, you go have fun.” The snake would disappear in a cloud of smoke.

Denkiteki would laugh a little himself. Katsuro had said he would help Denkiteki pick his element, saying something like he wanted his partner to have the right combination. For the past few hours the snake had been coiled up in his room, seeming to be more indecisive than Denkiteki had been. If Denkiteki made a decision, Katsuro would question it, and convince Denkiteki that maybe that wasn’t the right element for him.

It seemed that he had finally gotten tired of trying to figure out which element Denkiteki would use, and left it to him. Now all Denkiteki had to do was train himself in using Wind Nature Transformation. He knew it would be difficult, especially seeing as he had an affinity towards Earth. Oh well, I’ll be able to do it!

Denkiteki took off his night closes and got himself in his training gear. It wasn’t so much gear as a simple outfit, a simple T-shirt and jeans. He kept his headband with him though, putting it on his usual place over his forehead. He then went downstairs, to talk to his father about learning wind.

Denkiteki knew his father had an affinity towards the Wind element, so he thought it would be best to learn from him. Heading down stairs, Denkiteki found his father eating breakfast as he walked over to him, “Dad, I’ve decided I want to learn how to manipulate Wind element chakra.” He smirked, wondering how his dad would react to hearing that he was going to try and learn a second element at the age of 12.

His dad smiled, before laughing, “I figured you would ask at some point. You probably should learn more Earth Release jutsu, but being capable of using a second element would still be wise I think. Come here and eat, afterwards we will start your training.”

Denkiteki nodded, and went to go get a plate. His mother had prepared a low of food, as she usually did. Denkiteki got some bacon and eggs before sitting down, beginning to slowly devour his food.

“So why did you pick Wind, because you would have to learn it from me, because it was a challenge, or because it would help your fighting style?” his father would ask him, his tone signaling that he was testing Denkiteki. He expected a specific answer.

“The way I see it, Earth Release only allows me to attack targets on the ground, unless I try to learn techniques that allow me to create mud or earth as well. Still, opponents in the air will be able to dodge my attacks. I thought about using Lightning or Fire, but I think Wind would work best.” Denkiteki hoped he had answered correctly, scanning his father’s face to see if there was any hint of him being impressed or disappointed.

“I suppose you are right. It is definitely good to be capable of attacking opponents that are in the air, and with Earth Release that would be difficult. Wind release would most certainly help you in that department, I think you may have made the right choice.” His father smirked, and the two resumed eating their food.

After the two of them finally finished, they set out for the training field, “Usually this training takes a few days just for you to be able to use an element, but seeing as you already know one, and you mastered the first so quickly, it might just take us a day or two for you to learn another. The only problem is that Earth and Wind are so different, you might have trouble manipulating your charka the correct way.”

Denkiteki nodded, “I know dad. But I think this will be useful to me. Like I said, I will be able to attack enemies that are in the air, not only that but I won’t be weak against Lightning Release anymore. The only element I will be truly weak against if Fire, and that is only because I won’t have an element that can beat it, but it is good against Wind Release. I will have an advantage against Water and Lightning Release users, and will have no advantage or weakness when I fight other Earth and Wind Release users.”

Denkiteki’s father chuckled, “That is true, so I guess you think it is worth it? Let’s get started as soon as we arrive then. You won’t need to do any stretches for this, you’ll just be doing chakra manipulation.”

It took them a few minutes to arrive in the place where Denkiteki and his father usually trained. It was a nice open space that no one else seemed to know about. The trees that outlined the clearing were covered with scratches from kunais and shuriken. The trunk of one tree stood out amongst the rest, having a few extremely large gashes in it. Denkiteki had been practicing with his new sword, using the large clever form of it to test out his cutting power. It seemed that despite him not being that strong he could still nearly cut down a tree after a few blows. And I’m only going to get stronger! the boy though happily as he looked at the gash, before looking at the ring on his left hand.

“Alright, we’ll start simple.” His father would say before snatching a fallen leaf from the ground, “Just cut this leaf with your chakra. This will be a bit like when we were trying to get you to learn Earth Release. We’re going to start simple, and then move on to more difficult things.”

Denkiteki nodded, remembering his training with Earth Release. It had been frustrating simply because the task seemed so easy, but it turned out to be so difficult. It had taken him days to figure out how to use his chakra to manipulate even a small rock.

“No. It’s not going to be like last time! You’ll see, I don’t care how hard this is going to be, I’m going to master Wind Release today! I’ll show you dad, I’ve already mastered one element, this will be a cakewalk!”

After only a few hours, Denkiteki realized that he was stupid in making that claim. He sat cross legged with a leaf between his index finger and thumb. It’s just a stupid leaf, why is this so hard? A few other leaves were next to him on the ground, many of them wrinkled up as Denkiteki accidentally channeled his Earth chakra into them, and then thrown away in disgust.

Earth Release was so much easier, even though it took me awhile. I guess it being my affinity and Wind being almost the opposite of it does make it even more difficult. With Earth Release I thought I had made SOME progress after a few hours. So far I’ve done nothing.

Denkiteki’s father was not that far away, watching his son silently. His expression was blank, void of any emotion he might feel watching his son attempt to master a second element. For the past few hours he had just stood there, not offering any advice or encouragement. Denkiteki ignored him for the most part, focusing on his training. If what Denkiteki had to do didn’t require a partner, this was often what happened whenever Denkiteki trained.

Denkiteki had once wondered why his father was not as involved in his training, like his teachers were. He later found out his father often wanted him to learn things his own way, saying that if Denkiteki learned things the same as everyone else, he would be predicable. I wonder if that has something to do with his Anbu days, when he was a hunter-nin. Denkiteki thought, it would make sense for hunters to not want to be predictable, otherwise their prey might be able to figure them out easily and better avoid them. Or maybe that was just something his father told him, or something he picked up somewhere else. Who knows?

Denkiteki decided to stop pondering that and refocus on his training. Remember, think like your chakra is a blade. Just cut it. That easy Denkiteki. You’ve got this. He focused his chakra, and watched as a cut made it’s way halfway through the leaf. He could have jumped for joy, but he hadn’t completed the training yet. I’m almost there though, I’ll get it done once I use the next leaf.[i/]

Denkiteki went to pick up another leaf, noticing that his father was smiling for once, not staring blankly, [i]is he proud of me?
Denkiteki couldn’t stop himself from smiling too.

“I told you, I’m going to finish this by the end of the day. I’m not just some academy Student like I was when I learned earth Release, I’m a full fledges ninja, and a Chuunin at that.” Denkiteki said with one of his usual smirks on his face, “Shoot, I might as well learn the other ones too, if it’s going to be this easy. I’ll master all 5 by next week, and that’s if I get bored and do something else for 5 days.”

His father laughed at that, “Those are some pretty big words. I’d like to see you give it a try though. I’ve never even seen someone who has mastered 4, I myself only know 3. If you can catch up with me though, I’ll be impressed. No need to try and learn anything else at that point.”

“You’re probably right, I won’t need the others anyway. For now at least. Wind and Earth are enough for me.” Denkiteki said, his smile still on his face, “let’s get back to work then.” With that Denkiteki would pick up another leaf, this time he would cut the whole thing in half, he just knew it.
