First step to the Sky [Open]

Ding, had been the noise made as the clock's hands struck the number 12. This had been the signal that the evening had came and half the day had passed, half the day that the spawn of the devil was created. Within the dark minds of the Tenkage a boy was born in less then 5 hours and grew to the age of five within those hours. Even though he had been a quite successful experiment there had still been things that needed to be tested on him. As minutes passed and the two adults conversed in their odd ways, the young boy named Sora took his chance to see the world for the first time. The movement of his hand was awkward as he tried to open the door to the material world and failed three times. One of the few drawbacks of jumping to such an age.

As he finally opened the door, it swung open and hit the wall. Still drawing no attention from his father and the man of the undead, he began to run. As he reached a point of exhaustion, he noticed something in the sky. This something had been bright yellow and was hard for the hooded boy to see. Squinting even though it looked as if he already had his eyes closed, his bangs' which were colored black like the rest of his hair, fell back with his hood as he looked up. His lips parting as he tried to force words through his mouth. The children around him seemingly mocking the boy because of his style of clothing, but Sora had no care for them. His eyes wondering the sky as they slowly moved away from the sun and looked onto the vast sky filled with clouds and birds. "Wh-what i-is th-th-that." he said struggling to get the words out as he pointed at the sky.

Komatsu stood slowly from the couch, pulling on a clean shirt. He had decided to come home and take a shower before going out to try and find himself some missions for spending cash. With a slight creak of the hinge he maneuvered himself through a narrow gap between the door and the doorjamb. Tossing the hood up on his jacket, the sun seemed unnaturally bright today. Locking the deadbolt behind him Komatsu started down the road whistling a jaunty tune, before noticing a group of children laughing at a younger boys clothing. The boy was pointing at the sky trying to ask something so Komatsu decided to step in and see what all the commotion was about.

As he walked towards the growing crowd Komatsu drew his hood down to shield his eyes further from the sun, maybe he was getting sick. Flashing a warning smile to the other children Komatsu shooed the other children away with one hand as he stepped next to the boy, "good afternoon kid, that's the sun don't look directly at it okay?" Flashing a warm smile he offered the boy a handshake, "my name is Komatsu, it's a pleasure to meet you. Did you lose your parents somewhere around here, or get lost on the way home?" Looking the kid over he felt a certain understanding, after all Komatsu had lost his parent's long ago and been forced to learn the streets and how to deal with other people without an adults guiding 'wisdom'.

Continuing to point at the sky, the boy's eyes still looked in amazement. Suddenly something appeared in the corner of his eye. A tall man, well certainly taller hen the five year old. Sora's eyes moved to look at the man who shooed the other children away. "Huh..." would slip from his mouth as the man spoke of the sun. "The s-s-sun? I-It's a pretty color of blue." He said as he continued his gaze upon the vast sky. His hands opening up as they tried to grab the sky. Seeming as if he wasn't paying attention to the man who was speaking to him. "No...... My d-d-dad i-i-is talking to that man, the one w-w-with the s-s-stupid hat...." he said speaking of the Tenkage.

Sora suddenly began to jump up and down as both hands raised up to the sky as an attempt to reach for the sky. Failing to reach it, a frown came upon his face, as he crossed his arms and pouted. "Hey you!!..." he yelled at Komatsu, his hands unfolding and pointing at the sky. "Why the fuck can't i touch the sun! Why won't it stop teasing me!" Sora said as he stomped his foot and raised his voice.

Looking up at the sky for a moment Komatsu strung together the information and filed it away as the boy mentioned a stupid hat, it puzzled him. Making a mental note to talk to the boy about the stupid hat later he turned his attention back to the boy yelling about not being able to touch the sun, first things first he had to explain the sun and sky. Keeping a light smile on his face Komatsu took a shallow breath, "okay the sun is the large orange globe that hangs in the sky, shedding light to our world, the sky is the vast space in which the; sun, stars, and moon all hang in balance."

Turning his gaze back on the boy he let the corners of his mouth perk back up into a smile, "see we can always touch the sky because it makes up the air that surrounds us and gives us the oxygen needed to function, the reason it is such a vibrant blue today is due to a reflection of water molecules in the air." Komatsu rolled his shoulders before reaching a hand up towards the sky, bringing it back to his side slowly, "understand?"
