Minorin Senju's Training

Minorin decided to train for her second time. Only this time it would be just her. She was wearing a green jumpsuit with white stripes streaking down the left and right sides of it and a pair of running shoes. No scarf today. But she had weights strapped around her wrists and ankles.

Just getting out of the house today had been a pain with the weights on! Opening and closing doors with them, attepting to drink a glass of orange juice her mother had poured for her; all a pain while wearing the heavy weights. It made her wrists feel like tiny wrecking balls that had awkward little appendages called "hands" at the ends of each one.

Minorin felt like a boulder as she jogged clumsily around Kirigakure. Wishing she hadn't worn the darn weights after all. But her father had insisted she wear them, and she couldn't deny her father. He had been a shinobi so he should know best.. That and if she didn't wear them he would mope around the house and not speak to her until she baked him cookies. And Minorin didn't like baking cookies. She always burnt her fingers.

The salty sea air and the spray of the nearby ocean helped her get through her tormentous training. The air here was cool and crisp on her face and made the jogging seem almost enjoyable. It felt kind of like she was cutting through thin sheets of ice every step of the way. She decided whenever she jogged she would do so closest to the ocean, weights or no weights.

Minorin attempted to keep a crisp pace as she made her way around the village, but that grew increasingly difficult as the weights seemed to get heavier and heavier. She knew she was becoming tired already, even though she had probably only been jogging for about ten or fifteen minutes. She shook all the thoughts out of her head and focused on pacing herself. She was going to become strong like her father and that was that. If she didn't endure now during simple training how would she ever get any better?

As she trudged along with pure determination she examined the inhabitants of Kirigakure. Many seemed ill-tempered or just plain bored and a few seemed hungry. They were a little intimidating like her father had always told her they would be. Minorin hadn't had very much contact with the village until she became an academy student due to her father taking her on trips before her academy enrollment and her mother wanting to keep Minorin in the house when she was home in order to baby her. But now that she was out of the academy and didn't go on trips there was so much more to see. Minorin now notices more and can do things she wasn't capable of prior to becoming a genin.

As Minorin made her way she thought of all the stories her father had told her about Kirigakure. Things like how in the past many missing-nin came from Kirigakure and many still do today and how Kirigakure's special "hunter-nin" ANBU would go out and eliminate such defects. There wasn't anything like that going on here now, involving the ANBU that is. Or atleast not that Minorin knew of. Still, it was interesting to think about the past.

She had completed a lap around a good part of the village by now and decided to veer off and jog more slowly down some of the less populated streets before stopping at home. She leaned against the wall of her house and breathed deeply for a while. Her muscles ached. She would be sore in the morning for sure. She sighed and knocked on the door. Ready to be done for the day.
