Mission: Help Me Tame My Pet!
Rank: E
Banteki had just finished up a long day at the academy, learning about boring stuff that he had already educated himself about. He was now off to complete a mission he had promised he would take for 250 ryo. The mission was to tame a dog for a young boy who was scared to go in his house because of it. Despite how much of a drag it would be, Banteki wanted the extra money, so he made his way downtown from the academy to a small neighborhood near the Ichiraku Ramen Restaurant. The person who gave him the mission had not given him a physical description of the house he was supposed to report to, which would not have helped anyway, seeing that they all were pretty much identical. He was instead told the house number, 14, so he made his way to the 7th house on the left, number 14. He knocked on the door and a disheveled mother ran to great him and invite him into the house.
"Oh thank God you're here," she said "This damn dog has been keeping us up for days! He's been a terror!"
"Don't worry ma'am," Banteki replied "I'll have this dog acting like an angel by the end of the day!" Banteki flashed a charming smile at the woman in an effort to kiss up to her.
"Oh, thank you so much! My son will be so happy to have a pet that is not constantly terrorizing him."
Banteki went into the living room where the dog was running wildly about. There was ripped apart furniture and toys strewn all over the room. Not to mention the copious amounts of canine excrement that littered the floor.
"Oh God, this might be harder than I thought."
Banteki's thought were interrupted by a deafening bark and the large, vicious-looking dog charged at him. Banteki stuck his forearm out in front of him, he was going to block the dog's flying assault, but thought better of it, remembering it said no force was allowed to be used in the mission description. Instead, Banteki offered the dog his forearm as a chew toy. The dog's strong, savage jaws clamped down like a vice on it. This hurt Banteki's flesh, but due to Shikotsumyaku, his bones were hard as steel, making it impossible for the dog to cause him any serious damage. The dog wrestled with his arm like a toy for a few minutes while Banteki sweet talked and played with him, trying to calm him down. After an hour or so of sweet-talking, letting the dog play with his bones, and feeding it treats, the dog seemed to have finally mellowed out. Just to do the family a favor, Banteki also cleaned up all of the rancid-smelling dog crap from the floor, putting it in a plastic bag. He called the mother and the 6 year old boy in to see the progress he had made, they were very impressed. He told them that all they needed to do was play with the dog more and he would not be so ferocious. The boy and his mother thanked Banteki profusely, and he made his way back home.
