Re: Kotaro's Training

It was dark when Kotaro woke. He had purposely messed up his sleeping pattern for this. He clumsily rolled out of his bed, landing on the floor in a heap. Slowly he untangled himself and got up smoothing out his greased clothes. There were bags under his eyes from the lack of sleep he had gotten trying to adjust his sleeping pattern for this. “Now’s the time.” He said before yawning loudly. “Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea.” He rubbed his eyes with the back of his sleeve and went about the process of getting ready. He silently opened the door leading out of his small house quietly closing it behind him and he set off into the night. As the wind blew against his face he couldn’t help but grin. There was a reason behind this seemingly random thing that Kotaro was now doing. He was going to use the lack of people outside at this time to his advantage. He planned to train as much as possible during the night when he had more room to move around freely. He smiled again and broke out into a full on sprint down the road. He tore his way down the street stumbling slightly as he had to turn a few corners here and there. Though for the most part he was fine as he rushed through the streets. While continuing with his run he began to perform several different hand seals, Ram, Snake, Tiger. “Bunshin no Jutsu!” Kotaro mumbled quietly as to avoid disturbing anyway, three identical clones of himself soon appeared seemingly from out of Kotaro’s own body. Then trio of clones followed behind him as he ran down the street. He quickly jumped upwards aiming to land on one of the rooftops surrounding him. He landed successfully and the clones followed him. He stopped in his run and span around to face the clones. He quickly moved down towards them and sent a punch towards the first one he was close enough too. Of course as soon as his fist touched the clone it disappeared. He then ducked down low and swept out the legs of another one which also caused that one to disappear. The last clone then jumped towards Kotaro who simply smiled as the clone disappeared the moment it came in contact with the boy. He grinned and leapt down from the roof back into the street below, with that he continued with his sprinting around the Village. ‘Have to get better.’ He kept thinking to himself over and over again as he slowed down to a halt tired from the running. He decided it would be best to turn his pace into that of a casual walk so he could recover from the previous run. As Kotaro slowly strolled through the streets he thought back to some of his previous training sessions, most of them had been training he had done on his own, well almost all of them really. The one that kept popping back into his mind however was when he first encountered the boy known as Xyxer Gyojin. The encounter was…interesting to say the least and it left Kotaro more determined than ever to improve himself. While walking through the street Kotaro settled to lazily punching the air while humming quietly to himself. It was at that moment he decided to venture out of the village. Around an hour later Kotaro found himself within a forest close to the village. It was the perfect spot, no one nearby that he needed to worry about disturbing, except perhaps any native animals. Kotaro stepped towards one of the many trees within the forest and examined it. There were many branches that hung close to the ground which would make perfect practice dummies. With a smile Kotaro dropped into a relaxed fighting stance and with a mumbled, “Byakugan.” He activated his doujutsu, as soon as this happened he rushed forward and sent a swift kick towards one of the lower branches of the tree. His foot connected against the small, thin branch causing it to snap off and fall to the ground. Next he moved on to another one. A swift punch was all it took for that branch too to be snapped off. Kotaro continued on with this attacking of the tree for several minutes. Before long most of the branches were now broken and laying on the floor beside the trunk of the tree. Kotaro grinned and wiped the sweat that had formed on his forehead away with the back of his sleeve. “This is tiring as hell, but I must continue on.” Then he heard a grunt off to his right, he turned his head and saw what appeared to be a rather large boar. Its eyes were currently fixated on the small boy and it didn’t seem to look that happy at Kotaro being there. The boar grunted once more before charging directly for him. Despite the current situation Kotaro couldn’t help but smile, this would be an interesting part of training. He jumped upwards his hands grasping onto one of the more sturdier branches that Kotaro had avoided hitting earlier. He brought his legs upwards to avoid them being caught by the boar which ran under him and slammed straight into the tree trunk. Kotaro dropped down and looked towards the dazed creature. He quickly put a small distance of about a meter between the two of them before waiting for what the boar would do. It decided to once more charge. This time Kotaro didn’t plan on simply leaving it run past him. Side-stepping casually he sent a swift kick into the hind leg of the boar as it ran on past him. This caused the boar to stumble and crash to the floor due to its own momentum. Kotaro couldn’t help but feel sorry for the creature so he decided to quickly make his exit before he was forced to do anything more drastic to defend himself. With a slight sprint he put a large distance between him and the location he was just now at. As the sun slowly rose Kotaro decided it would be best to head on home for now, he would be back later however to continue on with his training.
Two days later and Kotaro wasn’t in a good mood. So far his day had been terrible; first he couldn’t sleep at all during the night before, then he had found out that there was no edible food in the entire house. So after a quick run to the shops to grab something to eat in which he had tripped and fallen flat on his face he wasn’t exactly feeling happy. So here he was, roaming the streets, stomach half full, or half empty, a giant red mark on his face where he fell annoyed at everything. It didn’t help that people kept constantly bumping into him either. As the fifth person today bumped into him Kotaro had the feeling that soon he would snap. He continued on however through the streets determine not to let this day be ruined by a poor start. It was around an hour later that Kotaro spotted a boy slightly younger than himself being picked on by a large, fat teenager. ‘What a perfect way to let out stress.’ He thought to himself as he sauntered over to the two of them. His right fist swung upwards and connected with the teen’s left ear causing a howl of pain from the male. He stumbled back clutching his ear and looking towards Kotaro with a look that would give children nightmares. Nether the less Kotaro simply stood there edging himself slightly to move himself between the bully and the younger child. “You can go now kid.” He mumbled, the boy nodded and took off down the street. The bully didn’t even bother with threats and instead charged forward much like the boar two days previously. Kotaro smiled slightly at the similarities they shared, though the boar was much nicer looking, and smelled better. He was snapped out of this train of thought by a wild swing sent at him by the enraged boy. Kotaro frowned slightly disappointed by the amateur skills the bully showed, he’d seen Academy Students throw better punches than this. He ducked his upper body forward causing the boy to miss the swing; his momentum took him stumbling off to the side. Kotaro straightened up and sent a swift kick into the upper thigh of the boy before once again punching him, this time in the cheek. Another howl of pain escaped his lips as he fell to the floor with a large thump. ‘How boring.’ Kotaro said before turning to walk away.
“Oi!” Kotaro turned his head back to the source of the noise; two more teenagers had arrived on the scene. Seems like they were friends with the boy now on the floor, how annoying. Sighing Kotaro turned around and awaited the inevitable assault by the two. It came of course. The two boys leapt towards him with a shout of perhaps rage, Kotaro couldn’t tell. Taking two steps back he raised up his knee which caught off the jaw of the first boy who attempted to tackle him to the floor. He then slammed his palm into the nose of the other boy before deciding it would be best to run, this would just drag on two much. Kotaro took off down the road at a full on sprint to get away from the two recovering teens. Three hand seals later and two other versions of Kotaro would sprint off in two different directions. As luck would have it by the time the two clones had stupidly managed to make themselves disappear by running into someone Kotaro was long gone. As he slowed down to a walk he smiled despite what just happened, his anger and irritation of the day was now gone and he felt much better because of it. That fight had made him want to train, so turning his walk into a light jog he ran out of the village and back towards the forest that he was in two days ago. He spent the rest of the day running around, jumping from trees, avoiding boars and some random other things to occupy his time. Several hours later and Kotaro was currently resting in one of the trees in the forest, he was laying in one of the larger branches high up in the tree. His back resting against the trunk he yawned loudly and closed his eyes beginning to hum quietly to himself. The past week or so had been rather enjoyable. He thought back to the last couple of weeks. Not much had changed, he was still training to become stronger, though he had passed his Genin exams and met a strange guy there hadn’t been much else that went on. Sighing Kotaro decided it was time to head back to the village his training done for the day. Climbing down from the tree Kotaro began the short walk back to the village his mind thinking over random things such as what he was going to do tomorrow, the meaning of life, and other things. Half an hour later and Kotaro was sitting on his bed, legs crossed and eyes closed. He was replaying the two fights he had over the last week or so in his head. The one earlier today and the spar he had with Xyxer, one win and one utter defeat. He cringed slightly as he went over the fight with Xyxer in his mind, it was a pitiful performance on Kotaro’s part, several times he had ended up on the floor and that irritated him. Then the one he had today with a bunch of teenagers who could barely punch, not exactly the hardest opponents. He got off from his bed and sighed, he had been training his taijutsu non-stop for the last few days, and his fighting ability had improved slightly as well as his knowledge. All he needed to do now was continue on with the training he was currently doing and soon he would become strong enough to beat anyone hand to hand, at least that was what Kotaro hoped. With this in mind he set his face into one of determination and punched at the air. In his mind an opponent stood across from him, he ducked and leant left and right to avoid the non-existent punches thrown by the non-existent enemy. Finally he stepped back slightly and spun his body around, his left leg raised up to connect a spin kick to his imaginary enemies temple which sent them fallen to the floor unconscious. Kotaro grinned before falling back onto his small bed, is ability in taijutsu had increased. ‘With that done I can begin to focus on other things.’ He thought to himself, ‘Next I improve the use of my Byakugan.’ So it was decided, Kotaro would dedicate the next few weeks in the training of his Byakugan, after all if he was fully capable of using it then it would surely give him sort of advantage. He closed his eyes and smiled slightly before drifting off back to sleep.
