Kotaro's Missions
Sun Nov 25, 2012 6:57 pm
Mission Name: Patrol
Rank: D
Type: Scouting
Character Requirements: None
Word Count Requirements: 300
Repeatable? Yes
Reward: 450 ryo
Task: Scout around the village to make sure the area is secure. If anyone who doesn't seem to be an ally is seen, report it to higher ranking shinobi.
Kotaro smiled as he sat on the edge of one of the rooftops of Kirigakure, the mission was a rather simple one. Scout the village. Kotaro liked this kind of mission, it wasn't anything that would require him to be quick so he could just go at his own pace. "Might as well begin." He said out loud to himself. With that he stood up and began to scan the area around him. Nothing of note. Kotaro smiled and took a few steps back before bursting into a sprint towards the rooftop, he then sprang off from it aimed towards the rooftop opposite this one, landing on it he would begin to do this around the village jumping from rooftop to rooftop as he scanned the area for anything suspicious. He continued to do this for several minutes, finding nothing that would be worth reporting he jumped down from the roof he was currently on. He landed on his feet in one of the many back alley's of the Village. He then began a brisk walk through the alleyway and out into the street. His eyes were constantly darting from left to right as he took in his surroundings. As he wandered through the streets he found that as usual he was constantly being bumped into. He found this rather irritating honestly. 'You think they'd at least try and pay attention to the people around them.' He thought as he side stepped to avoid someone else from walking into him. 'Coming down onto the streets was a bad idea.' Despite this he continued on pushing his way through the people as he continued to patrol the area. What seemed like hours later, but was more likely ten or twenty minutes, Kotaro decided to return to the rooftops. Finding a suitable way to get onto them was rather easy and soon he was perched on one of them staring down at the streets below. Then a thought clicked into his mind, "Of course, this would make it slightly easier to do this." Kotaro mumbled to himself. He was after all a Hyuuga, he might as well make use of his ability once in a while. "Byakugan!" The effect was immediate as Kotaro activated his Byakugan, the veins around his eyes became more prominent as was standard when one activates the Byakugan. He felt his sight become boosted which gave him a better view of things from the rooftops. With this done he began to go about with the rest of the patrol. Several minutes later Kataro decided he should finish off the patrol and call an end to it, with that he went off to report his findings...nothing.

Mission Name: Thief in the village.
Rank: D
Type: Capture
Character Requirements: None
Word Count Requirements: 300 words
Repeatable? Yes
Reward: 400 ryo.
Task: Multiple villagers have reported their
belongings stolen. Multiple villagers had reported being a target of a thief,
mostly at the same time. Your job is to find the thief, or thieves and capture them.
This mission was one which Kotaro found annoying, he had to find then capture a thief..or thieves. "Why do people have to rob things." He mumbled as he strolled down the street of Kirigakure, it was currently late in the night and Kotaro was patrolling the street keeping his eye out for any signs of the thief..or thieves. The veins around his eyes were made more prominent as Kotaro had his Byakugan activated for this task, the ability to see the chakra of people would help him in finding anyone out at this late time. It was now later in the night and Kotaro was sick of walking around. 'This has been a waste of time.' He thought to himself as he leant against one of the buildings, he had by now deactivated his Byakugan and was content to simply just stand there and wait. So that's what he did, he waited, and waited. He heard a smashing sound and ran off in the direction he heard it. As he rounded the corner he saw a dark figure climbing out of a broken shop window. Picking up the pace Kotaro threw himself towards the unknown figure and tackled them to the ground. Kotaro stared into the wide eye's of the thief, it was an adult male, probably around 20. This wasn't good. Quickly he was thrown off as the man scrambled to get away. Kotaro recovered quickly and gave chase. The man seemed to be slightly slower than Kotaro so little by little he gained on the man. Soon he was at the side of them and he stuck his left foot out infront of them, the man tripped and tumbled to the ground. Various items spilled out from the man's pockets as Kotaro grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and gave him a swift punch in the nose to keep him from escaping. He then dragged the man off to a higher ranking shinobi. After dropping him off a tired Kotaro went home and collapsed in his bed almost immediately falling asleep, mission accomplished.

Mission Name: Helping The Academy
Rank: D
Type: Help.
Character Requirements: None
Word Count Requirements: 400
Repeatable? Yes
Reward: 450 ryo
Task: The teachers at the academy are looking for some small assistance. Your job is to simply show a group of three academy students the basics of being your rank.
Kotaro stood outside the Academy looking down at the mission scroll he had received earlier. Apparently the Academy needed help with showing some Academy Students about being a Genin or something. Kotaro smiled slightly, "It hasn't been long at all and already I'm back here." He walked into the familiar scenery of the Academy and went off to find one of the teachers to show him where the three students were. Ten minutes later Kotaro was stood in the place where he took his Genin exam, stood before him were the three Academy Students. Three boys, a little shorter than Kotaro himself was. Kotaro was actually mildly surprised, it seemed that they were willing to pay attention and learn from him. 'The basics of being my rank huh?' He thought to himself as he stood infront of them. 'Got it.' With a smile he took a few steps away from them and looked towards them. "Okay, I'm Kotaro and my job is to show you guys what it's like to be a Genin, or something like that." He said to the three of them with a smile. "Essentially being a Genin requires you to perform a bunch of missions for different people, these can range from scouting the village to teaching Academy Students." He looked to see if they were taking in what he was saying to them. "And that's pretty much all there is to it, I suppose you also need to continue training and try to climb your way through the ranks also." Kotaro frowned as he tried to think of anything else that would be valuable information to the three students. "I suppose there are a few other things, basic things such as Taijutsu." He demonstrated this by doing a few punches into the air along with a kick. "Ninjutsu." He did the three hand seals of one of the basic academy jutsu he needed to do during his Genin Exam, "Henge no Jutsu!" A puff of smoke accompanied the jutsu which drifted off to reveal Kotaro's new appearance as the boy in the middle of three. Dispelling the jutsu to turn his appearance back to normal he frowned again. "And finally Genjutsu...which you'll be taught about." He didn't have anything fancy to show the trio seeing how Kotaro didn't know any Genjutsu to show them. He then nodded his head to the three and exited the hall letting them go about their business, he supposed that would do for showing them the basic stuff they needed to know. Hopefully this would help them in the future, and if not well that was a waste of an hour.

Kotaro yawned loudly as he walked down the road. Today was another routine patrol. These weren't exactly that interesting in his opinion. They usually involved him just walking around and finding nothing to report at all, but still it was better than sitting around doing nothing anyway. So that was the reason why Kotaro was currently walking down the streets, arms swinging back and forth lazily in time with his steps. He rounded a corner and came to a halt, his eyes scanned the area infront of him and he frowned, there were a lot of people in his way. He let out an irritated sigh and moved himself as far off to the side of the street as physically possible and began to walk again. His eyes kept moving back and forth scanning both the street and the rooftops for anything worth noting as he went about this boring patrol. He yawned once more before settling to leaning on the wall of a building watching as people went about their day to day business. Several minutes later he moved on down the street to another spot. He repeated this for around two hours or so before deciding it was time to head to the rooftops. Finding a way to get onto them was now rather easy and within a minute or so he was perched on the roof of a building surveying the street below him. He smiled slightly as he watched some kids running down the street pushing past a bunch of people. He then jumped from rooftop to rooftop his eyes constantly looking over the streets and alleyways. After a few minutes of this he was pretty certain that he had explored pretty much all of the village, nothing to report, mission over. With that Kotaro walked home yawning repeatedly.

Another day another patrol. Kotaro yawned as he walked down the street at a slow and steady pace. Seeing how there was nothing to report the last few times he had done this, he assumed there wasn’t going to be anything this time, so today he was taking it at a slow pace. As he went on his walk his eyes every now and then flickered from left to right on the off chance that he would find something to report on. Rounding the corner his eyes caught sight of what appeared to be an argument between an older couple. He stopped in his patrol and turned his attention to this, he might as well get some entertainment while he was on the job. Several minutes of enjoyment later and it was over. Kotaro sighed and turned his attention back to ‘patrolling’ he spent the best of five minutes walking around in a circle letting time slip away before he decided he should actually do this seriously. So he leapt onto the top of one of the buildings and lazily began to jump from one to another. His eyes every few seconds flickering down to look to the streets below. Along with this he would also this time check through the alleys, he thought he might as well to a thorough search through the streets this time. He of course found nothing. Disappointed in the lack of anything interesting Kotaro sat on the edge of one of the roofs and looked to the street below once more. He smiled slightly as he watched the same couple from before begin round two. This patrol had been rather eventful, but once more nothing to report in about. He wondered about if next time he should just stay in bed and say he did the patrol.

It seemed that once more a thief was on the loose through the village, and it was once more Kotaro’s task to deal with him, or her…or them. The boy sighed as he stood against a wall watching people walking through the street going about their day to day business. He had heard some rumours that there were a gang of thieves going around during the night. So he supposed once more he would have to stay up and wait for them to make their move. He had decided that it would be easier if he were to catch all of them at once rather than hunt them down individually, it would also save time in his opinion. So he stood there for hours on end watching the people go past. During the time he stood there he saw a few of the usual sights, kids running around, couples arguing, the usual stuff you would see during the evening. As the sun sunk low Kotaro yawned loudly. The streets were starting to quiet down. He moved himself so that he was hidden in the shadows and continued to wait. Across the street was a rather nice looking shop, Kotaro had heard that this might be the next target, though he doubted it he thought it was a good place to start. He continued to wait until he saw three shadowed figures approaching. He smiled and waited until he had enough evidence to prove they were actually the guys, this came quickly when they began to pick the lock to the door. Kotaro sprang into action. A brief scuffle ensued, Kotaro of course came out the winner in it, the guys weren’t the best fighters really. So after several hours of waiting, he had finally caught them. With that he dragged the trio off to the nearest higher ranking shinobi for them to be dealt with.

Task: The village has become rather dirty, with
most shinobi already on a mission the kage had requested that you help clean some places in the village up.
Cleaning duty. Cleaning duty! This is what Kotaro had to put up with on this fine morning. The sun was shining, the birds chirping, the people were happy…expect Kotaro. Seems like today it was his turn to clean up the village. He didn’t know why he had to clean up someone else’s mess. He didn’t do it, so why should he have to clean it up. This task made Kotaro angry, he couldn’t believe this, he was better than this, he wasn’t an Academy Student anymore, and he shouldn’t be the one to do this job. Kotaro mumbled several curses under his breath as he walked through the streets keeping an eye out for litter. In his left hand he was carrying a black bag, which he assumed he was supposed to put the trash into, though honestly he would rather stick the person who gave him this damn mission into it. He spent the next two hours picking up random stuff from the streets, bottles, wrappers among other things were shoved into the rapidly filling black bag. Throughout all of this Kotaro get grumbling and cursing silently to himself. He turned the corner and arrived back to where he started, his eye twitched. There was more litter on the street. So once more he went around the streets picking up more of the litter that people dropped. Of course there was one person who had the audacity to drop litter right in front of the boy. Let’s just say it didn’t end pretty. After shoving the boy into a trash can he proceeded to dump the trash in the black bag onto the kid. Smiling at the amusing situation before him Kotaro quickly made his getaway. For the most part the mission was finished. This was a terrible way to start the day, but the end of it had been worth it all.

Task: A small group out in the forest were building a small home for a family, they had left behind some supplies and it would take too long if they would come back and get them.
Kotaro woke up early in the morning. Today he had decided it was time to do another mission. He strolled down the stairs and left his small home. Ten minutes later he was standing outside reading the mission scroll. A supply run. Kotaro smiled slightly, something new for once. This was both refreshing and interesting. For one, he wouldn’t be stuck wandering the streets of the village this time, instead he would be able to leave the village and go for a nice walk, plus he would get paid for the job, there was no drawbacks in this mission. Kotaro headed to the gates of the village where he was told the supplies would be. He guessed the several bags that were lying next to them with a sign saying, ‘Supplies’ was a rather good indicator that these were indeed the supplies. He went over to the bags and lifted several of them up gauging how much they would weigh, Kotaro’s smile widened, this would take multiple trips, perfect. He grabbed the heaviest two of the bunch and lifted them up with some struggle. He had a rough idea of where he was supposed to take them, with that he took off in a slight job out of the village. It only took him a few minutes to find the area in which a small group of men were currently at work, seemed like they were currently building a house. Making sure that he dropped them in a place where they actually were easily noticed, and just in case informed the nearest person of their arrival. He ran back to the village at a steady pace, once back he grabbed another two of the bags and went back to the group. He continued with this until all of the supplies had been delivered to the group of people. Kotaro let out a sigh of relief as he dropped the last bag off; he leant against the nearest thing he could find a pile of wood and relaxed slightly. His work done he opened his eyes and watched the men work; he did wonder why someone would want to live out here instead of in the village. Then again he could also see why they wouldn’t want to live in the village. Deciding it was time to head back he gave a small wave to the group before departing, mission complete.

Task:
A farm at the border of the village has been attacked, we do not know by what or who, go to the scene of the attack and see what you can find, we gotta know who is behind this and stop it, village attacks will not be tolerated!
It was a bright sunny day in Kirigakure. People had already taken to the streets going about their day to day business. Kotaro was currently lying in bed his eyes fixed on the ceiling. He was going to get up…any time now. Honestly he couldn’t bring himself to get out of bed today. He needed to how ever. Today he had decided it was time to do an A-Rank mission. With a loud yawn he rolled out of bed and collapsed onto the floor in a heap. Slowly he untangled himself and began to go about the day to day necessities that were washing, cleaning, eating, getting dressed. Though not usually in that order and not usually cleaning. Kotaro yawned once more as he brushed his hair back and began to slowly walk down the stairs out of his house. Today was going to be great, okay that was a complete lie. Today was probably going to suck. Chances are that Kotaro would get stuck with a terrible job like having to clean the entire village..again. Honestly if he ever had to do another cleaning mission he would just give up entirely. Kotaro sighed and exited his house. Time to get this mission over and done with. Several minutes later and Kotaro held the mission scroll in his hand. He opened is slowly, slightly nervous about what he would have to do, and slightly worried that it would be something terrible. His eyes scanned over what was written and he frowned. He didn’t have time to think about it. This seemed rather urgent, so he took off at a jog to the village gates. Exiting them he began to think over what the mission entailed. A farm had been attacked by someone, seemed most likely by bandits. Kotaro cursed silently to himself as he continued to run now increasing the distance from him and the village. Of course he would get the annoying job like this. Despite going at mostly his top speed for most of the journey it still took him around an hour to arrive at the farm. His eyes quickly scanned over the area, there seemed to be smoke rising from one of the buildings and most of the fences and walls seemed to be trashed. Kotaro felt anger rising up inside him. What people could bring themselves to attack a farm? He was going to find out who did this and quickly. He began to investigate the vicinity looking for any signs of the people that attacked the farm. He then began to search around in the buildings looking for any clues that might give him some information of the attack. This went on for several minutes before he heard a noise behind him, it wasn’t the residents of the farm; they were back in the village to be kept safe. Kotaro quickly spun around and let his eyes dart around the room looking for any sign of someone. There was nothing. Kotaro frowned and turned back to his search. He heard another noise again and sent his right elbow backwards, it hit against something and he heard a grunt. Kotaro once more turned and saw an adult male, slightly bigger than himself, stumbling backwards after getting hit by the elbow. Kotaro examined the man; at his hip was a sheathed blade. Kotaro’s eyes narrowed. So this was the one who attacked the farm, a look out the window confirmed that there seemed to be more of them. Kotaro smiled slightly despite his anger; at least he would be able to get revenge for the poor owners of this property. With that in mind he sprang into action, before the man had fully recovered from the elbow Kotaro was upon him. Two swift punches met with the jaw of the man which sent him stumbling back once more. Kotaro then dropped low and swept the man’s legs out from underneath him. With a cry the man fell onto his back hitting the floor hard with a loud thump. A hard stomp onto his nose broke it easily and sent the man into unconsciousness. Kotaro turned his gaze to the other men that were now running into the building. Kotaro dropped into a relaxed fighting stance and awaited the attack. There were six in total, the one on the floor and the five remaining. Two of them rushed at him drawing their swords. Kotaro’s eyes widened slightly before he jumped back putting some distance between them. He rushed forward to the one on the left and sent a kick to the wrist of the man, the foot connected and the man fumbled and dropped his sword. An elbow to the head and a knee to the gut sent the man crumbling to the floor. Kotaro turned his head back to the remaining bandits, revenge would be sweet. Several minutes later and Kotaro was arriving back at the village gates. He sported several cuts and a few bruises but other than that he seemed fine. Coming in behind him were the six bandits, all of them bound and tied, each of them sporting several injuries themselves. A smile was on Kotaro’s face as he handed them in to the nearest high ranking shinobi. He couldn’t do anything to prevent the initial destruction of the farm, but by bringing in these guys he had prevented any other attacks by this group and for that he was happy. He wished the family that owned the farm well and then went off back to his own home. Entering back into his room he collapsed onto his bed and winced as a dull pain settled over this body. Maybe he over did it slightly taking on the six of them on his own, then again it could have been a lot worse for the boy. He smiled once more before turning his gaze once more back to the ceiling, he was content to spend the rest of the day lying here recovering from the fight and listening to the sounds of the village.
