The Aftermath [Private, NK]
Sun Feb 17, 2013 4:20 pm
It was on that fateful day not too long ago where everything had changed, and not for the better. Many innocents had got torn to shreds and burnt alive, countless others were permanently scarred from the horrors which were witnessed. Although Hisao did not know it, he was one of the latter. His mind had forcefully blocked out the paralyzing images of what he had witnessed, it sought to save him. It knew, if Hisao was to recall those events, it would change him. The medical officials had reported this child as dead previously, but something in him would not relent. He had marched his way back from the afterlife and he had reclaimed his body. In his slumber he only witnessed few things; Freshly cut grass, smiling faces and the warm embrace of his parents. He was one of the lucky ones from that night.
The extent of Hisao's injuries included wounds in his torso, back and hip where shrapnel had hit him from the flying debris, a dislocated arm which had been caught under a rock and a rather nasty strain on his ankle from when he had tried to escape but had got his leg also caught under some flying chunks of debris, luckily however, the damage that had been caused was not to be permanent, but the flesh wounds would forever remain with him as scars. For now, however, those were not a bother to him. He was enjoying the calm solace of his dreams. A few medical officials checked his temperature every now and again. His body was recorded to still be in a state of shock, one of the most severe recorded.

Navi walks with his hands in his pockets, a cold gaze scanning the hospital as he walks through the halls. News of his replacement as the Hokage is brand new, and it is unlikely that many people will recognize him right away. His authority is still very real however, as just recently he had personally taken command over the Sunagakure military restoration project, and was currently working towards repairing the badly damaged village.
It was from heavy feelings of guilt that weighed on his shoulders that he chose to follow through with these actions. Many people in this village were slaughtered, and the process of healing the physically and mentally wounded would be a long one.
Navi spins on his heel, turning into a room filled with several wounded people of the Sand stretched across medical beds. Hospital workers scurry about around the room, treating the injured amongst the loud clamor.
Upon walking into the chaotic crowd he is immediately handed a folder and a clipboard, Navi's eyes now scanning the situation reports and taking note of what he had to oversee for the day. He exchanges a few words with a nearby official about getting more supplies before dismissing the man and beginning to read the file of each wounded subject.

A strange sensation ran through the body of Hisao which made his body run cold. It was like some otherworldly sense where he could.. sense things? It was all quite weird. None the less, the silent beckoning of the aura pried at him until he could no longer stand it, and so, straining, the boy forced himself to open his eyes and gaze upon the scene. Looking around the room, things were not much different from the last time he had been awake, but now there were different patients being treated. Perhaps the other ones had died since their wounds seemed to be far worse than his. However, none of these figures were the one he could feel the essence pouring out of. So he turned his head to the doorway where he noticed a figure, a man holding a clipboard.
The boy could not take his eyes off from this strange site since the man did not seem to be a medical ninja, nor someone who should care for this village's well-being. His forehead now beginning to crease as he strained to see the man, his mind rolled his face through the many events he had been a part of until the traumatizing memories of that night rolled back through his mind. He recalled the tearing and burning sensation of the shrapnel, the feeling of being about to die, but those were not why the flashback had been called for. As soon as he was about to give up remembering why he remembered this man, it came to him at the end. This was the man that had saved him. Without him, chances are Hisao would have died. His eyes continued to bore into the man, no sign of expression on his face but his cold gaze.

He tossed the clipboard aside a few moments later, a brunette nurse following his approach towards the first patient who layed in a hospital bed. The woman took notes on the first man's psychological condition while Navi asked a series of questions. Once he was finished, Navi moved onto the next patient, a process to determine what the next steps to recovery were for everyone in the room.
Eventually this process lead him to the bedside of the boy named Hisao, a kid who had been badly bruised with several injuries during the incident, but fortunate that none of them would resonate in any permanent damage. Navi's cold eyes rest upon the boy, and he begins to ask something while the nurse prepares to take notes on the evaluation.
"Please tell me everything you remember about the incident."

As it turned out that man was questioning the people in the ward and was not onto questioning him, asking what he remembered. Closing his eyes he began to focus back onto that day to try and snatch at some of the remnants of memories. It was difficult for him to put so much pressure on his brain but it was required of him. Swallowing deeply, he began to speak, his voice somewhat shaky and the boy was unable to form a complete sentence, only a few words strung together, "Fire... death.." The boy's eyes opened after that as he looked up at the man, his voice now seeming a tiny bit calmer, "Saviour."
As the boy said this his hands gripped onto his bed sheet and continued to focus on the man; this could be an opening for something that could potentially help him. This man could be the person to save Hisao from having to witness any more terrors like this and being too weak to intervene.

His brow rises slightly, uncertain of what the boy means and perplexed by his answer. Navi had saved hundreds of people during the incident in Sungakure, but through the chaos didn't have much time to realize who he was protecting. Most of the event was a blur, meaning that Hisao's cryptic words meant very little to him at present.
It was difficult himself to recall all of the events, large pangs of guilt resonated in him for not stopping the destruction, and perhaps not saving as many people as he could have. These thoughts are repressed for now though, and his focus is almost entirely on the patient being observed.
"Take your time," Navi encourages, "Just tell me what you can."

Hisao looked up at the lighting of the room almost as if he was seeking help from it, his mind reeling back on the events as he tried to focus more on them. "People screaming.. everyone's.. dying.." By now the hands of Hisao had found their way from the bed sheets to his head, clenching handfuls of his own hair, his words now being spoke as if he was on the verge of attacking someone, "People.. dying.. no one's.. trying.. to stop it.. anarchy.. pain.. misery" the boy slumped after he had said that, looking out of the window glumly, "No hope.. Just death.." his breath quickened once more as he tried to think of how he could request the man of aid.
Instead, however, he just turned his head towards the man and he spoke slowly, starting to stutter because of the fear reeling at the back of his mind, "W-where's mother?.. F-father?.."

Navi stops trying to probe the boy and exhales deeply, shaking his head and standing up straight. He whispers to the aid briefly about the boy needing further psychological aid before leaving his bedside, slowly making his way out of the room. After exchanging words to a few more officials he makes his way to the hospital roof taking his break by sitting on the edge of the flat building's top.
The clouds are gray and dreary over the land, a strange sight to see over the desert of Sunagakure. A few moments later a light rain begins to fall, the cool droplets falling on the man as he looks out over the damaged but still beautiful and majestic village.

Following the departure of the male, the medical officials within the room began to whisper to each other, believing the Hokage had visited specifically to congratulate them, even though he did not say it in words, on doing a marvelous job. This was perfect for Hisao. He could now do what he needed to since they were not paying attention to him in the slightest. Shuffling ever so slightly to the edge of his bed that was away from the small gossiping group, he knew he had to act quick. Gently swinging his legs out of the bed and letting his feet touch the ground, he dragged the rest of his body off and puffed up his pillow under his duvet, making it seem as if he had just pulled it over his head. Crouching on the floor, Hisao carefully approached the door with his eyes on the officials all the while, his movement much like a monkeys as he also swung his arms slightly.
Making his way out of the room, the young boy noticed the hall was relatively empty so he followed the footsteps that he had heard come into the room before; the footstep's of Navi. Finding himself in front of a door that led onto the roof, he pushed it open silently before he walked out, letting the door close behind himself. Standing out on the roof he noticed the man was sitting on the edge of it, a light patter of rain now consuming the area; it was quite weird considering they were in Sunagakure. He spoke once more, his head cocked to the side inquisitively, "Where is mother and father? Why do you ignore me?"

Navi cocks his head backwards, an indifferent expression with the same cold eyes looking at the boy upon his entrance to the rooftop. His legs dangle off the rooftop in his sitting position, enjoying the vantage point and feeling the cold rain on his skin. Upon hearing the question he turns back towards the village, letting a brief silence pass before speaking up.
"Hisao Uchiha, your parents are dead."
The words were listed prominently in the file he just read about the boy, deceased parents and probably mental anguish. It was almost assuredly difficult for him to hear, but the phrase needed to be spoken. Navi had no intention to lie to the miserable boy, and fully expected an inevitable mental breakdown to erupt inside him.
