"Cool." Nero would have said as an answer to the white haired boy. He would then continue speaking, "Ground rules, you say ? I always give my opponent a turn after my attack, or I attack them after they do, if they were the one to start the spar. But the spars don't go that simple. There are always things such as counter-attacks, traps, etc. Of course, at the start the first goal of mine would be testing my opponent's strength, speed, skills, intelligence and stragety, and observe it as careful as I can... Anyway, it would be better if you just learned my way throughout the spar... My ways are usually simple enough to be understood by anyone, so I doubt there would be any problems... Oh... Also... Don't go easy on me, use any of your abilities, as well as whole your intelligence and please pay attention as much as you can.".

Nero would have then raised the katana he has been holding with his right hand. He would have then held directly towards Itami, though his face would still be looking down to the point where the grip of the katan was standing before it was moved by Nero, as he would once again start talking, "If there is nothing else, my friend Itami, I am ready...". His eyes would be shining through the shadow that lightly covered his face (although whole his face could easily be seen due to the day being so bright). He would once again open his mouth, as his head would rise higher than before. "Bring it on."

"Great, sounds like a plan." Itami responded. "And no worries there, I don't go easy on anyone."

As Nero raised his katana, Itami stared back without fear of the weapon. A confident smirk appeared on his face; he was excited to start the spar. Nero seemed like a smart person and Itami saw the challenge in sparring with him, even though it wasn't a win-lose kind of spar.

His eyes shifted from light red to red as adrenalin started pumping through his veins. He focused on his chakra, using the last few seconds before the spar to prepare and enhance his abilities.
He put one hand in his weapon pouch on his right side. Finding a kunai with his hand, he directed more chakra in his hand and fingers and infused the weapon with wind natured chakra. He crouched down and then pushed off the ground, jumping backwards to create some space between them, and landing softly on his feet, pulling the kunai out in one swift motion. He laughed: "This is going to be fun!"

Nero would realise that Itami has accepted that moment as the moment the spar has started, and that the white haired kid wasn't going to do the first attack. "Let's go !" would be his last shout, before he would stop talking. It was probably only when he trained and when he slept, that Nero wouldn't talk (that much).

Nero would know that when you know nothing about the opponent, participating in the first strike would be a disadvantage, but he didn't mean to do his best in the spar either, after all, as he has said before to Itami, it was just a warm-up to learn about your opponent, a way for two people to know eachother better.

Nero would run towards Itami with half his maximum speed, an he would raise his hand holding the katana, raising the weapon along with it while he was closing the distance, as he would push it down with half his strength and speed. The katana would move vertically down towards Itami's shoulder, or where it would have been if Itami did not move, according to his movement. If Itami moved with a speed not too fast for nero to track, the movement of his kataan would be changed to keep up with Itami's. If Nero was close enough when Itami was moving, he would move his ankle instead of his whole arm for the katana to move faster towards Itami.

Nero wouldn't of course expect a ninja as clever as Itami to get hit by an attack like that, so his eyes would be wide open, watching the white haired boy's movement completely carefully so he would see the counter attack that the kid may have performed.

As Nero charged towards him with his katana and Itami saw him getting closer and closer, he prepared his chakra infused kunai. He stayed in his place until Nero was close enough and then at the last second moved to the right with almost full speed - but he only moved so little to evade the weapon. The katana swished past him and Itami was so close he could almost feel the wind on his cheek. He was to his right side of Nero now. He moved his kunai to his left hand and moved the arm, attempting to slash at Nero's arm and torso. The attack succeeding or not, he would then rotate so he would be facing Nero's left side completely, and charge a punch at his lower abdomen from the side. Nero seemed to be quite skilled with his katana and Itami had to watch out for the arm weilding the weapon.

He wondered if Nero trained both his arms to manage the katana efficiently, or was one a little weaker than the other? He would have to ask about this in order to give Nero some useful advice. It was important to have back up plans in fights - always. You had to imagine that your most useful skill would be somehow disabled and then prepare an efficient back up plan if that were to actually ever happen in the future. Itami so not only practiced his long range jutsu, but taught himself well in close combat as well, even though long range was better for him.

Focusing his eyes on Nero's arm that held the katana, he moved his leg, aiming a kick at his feet meaning to trip Nero. He moved backwards a little, to create some space between them in order to ensure his safety.

After Itami dodging the slash of katana with ease, Nero would have turned to the boy, at the same time stepping away from him with the same speed he has dashed towards. His katana would have changed its direction, and would this time be moving horizontally instead of vertically. Nero would clash the katana with the boy's kunai at the end of the slash.

Nero's right hand would have benn holding the katana, and his right side (the right side of his torso, his right shoulder, leg, etc.) would have been facing Itami, the Koutaishi's left side being a total blind side for Itami. Nero would have depended that the boy wouldn't have realised the true meaning of this stance, and would have thought it was so that he could hold the katana efficiently, but at the same time giving less openings for the opponent. That was part of the meaning of this stance, but not all of it... Nero's left hand would have quickly picked out a kunai from his ninja pouch.

He would have been standing near Itami when the boy has aimed a kick at Nero's right hand. The boy would have been faster than Nero, but not fast enough for Nero to be unable to track his movements. Nero would have jumped, seeming to do a front flip mid-air, but he wouldn't completely flip, but instead stab the ground with his katana, delaying his fall back to the ground, as he would twist his hip, alongside his legs and throw himself to his right. He would have pulled the katana out once he was mid-air. He would have jumped to Itami's left.

Just before landing, he would throw the kunai in his left hand right next to the boy's left leg, which Nero thought that he couldn't have pulled back until the Koutaishi has thrown it. So he would now be standing in Itami's left side.

Itami saw the katana block his kunai slash and his arm muscles clenched as he held the kunai in place, not giving in to Nero's strength. When Nero jumped up, he was able to lower his arm once more, enabled to move it freely.
As Nero flipped in the air, using his katana to delay his fall, Itami watched intently, his brain trying to process all possible outcomes of the other's plan. He crouched down, prepared and as Nero landed and moved his arm in a swift motion to throw the kunai, Itami already formed the required hand seals for the basic academy replacement jutsu. As the kunai supposedly hit his leg, a log took his place, Itami appearing a little back, but facing Nero straight on.

He ran towards him, his hands forming the ram-snake-ram combination. Two solid shadow clones were created and ran closely next to Itami, one on his right and one on his left. Both were just a few centimeters ahead of him.

As they reached Nero at their full speed, clone number one jumped up, aiming a fast kick at Nero's chest and planned on using this to gain momentum and jump higher. The second clone pulled a kunai out of his pouch, and moved on Nero's right, so Nero wouldn't be able to cut the first one with his katana, if he didn't want a deep kunai wound on his right arm. If that would succeed, the real Itami would, still in his crouched position, deliver a punch to the boy's solar plexus, knocking the wind out of him.
All this would happen in a time span of a few seconds, one event overlapping the other, distracting Nero as he would have a hard time on focusing on all three attacks.
If clone number one succeeded into jumping higher, he would spin in the air and land behing the older boy, aiming a swift punch at his back, just a second after the real Itami attempted the hit at his solar plexus.

Nero would watch the movements of the clones headed towards him. Nero would have pulled a kunai with his left hand already, so he would have one weapon against each target.

He would use the katana against the one that attacked him with a kunai, since he would have had the advantage because of him having a larger range than that clone since the katana being many times longer than the kunai. Nero would have sliced the clone with a vertical strike. If the attack succeeded, the clone would have been dispersed. Nero would make sure for the clone to get hit with the momentum it had against the Koutaishi. It was almost inevitable for the clone to dodge the attack, mostly because of the speed, and him being in a dead range when Nero's attack took place.

At the same time, his other hand would strike the other clone's leg (that was aimed to kick him) mid-air, from the outer side of the leg. If this attack suceeded, this clone would have been dispersed too (as do all the clones).

However, Nero wouldn't have been watching the real Itami, so he would either way get punched in the solar plexus by him. The boy would have outsmarted Nero with ease, it seemed.

As both clones were just distractions, Itami didn't care that both were so easily dispersed. His fist colliding with Nero's solar plexus, he took the oportunity of the momentarily stunned boy (a hit to the solar plexus renders one of breath usually) and swiped his leg on the floor, to trip him. He added a punch to the shoulder which would shift the falling or (if he managed to evade the kick) standing Nero to the side, exposing his lower body. The kunai he still held in his left hand swiped across his abdomen area and then Itami moved back again.

He created the hand signs once more and created two shadow clones. All Itami's held a kunai and as one clone stayed in front of Nero and attacked again, the real Itami and another clone ran each in their own side behind Nero. If Nero didn't turn around, he would miss the fact that Itami secretly created another clone behind his back, and hid himself among the bushes near their fight. This would give the impression that one of the three clones was Itami. Nero would't know that there was actully a fourth one - the real one - hidden somewhere as he would only see Itami create two clones and not the third later on.
If Nero would turn around however, Itami would - still creating the third clone - throw a shuriken at him, and so would the second clone, and the newly created one. All as the original first clone who stayed in front of Nero would throw a kunai at the boy from that direction. It would be very hard to evade all the weapons flying at him, as each came from a different direction.

[damn sorry this is all so confusingly written xD It's hard to describe what each clone is doing as they don't have separate names and it's easy to mix them among eachother.)

Nero would have felt the painful hit in his solar plexus, though he did not know where he got hit exactly, nor did he know about the solar plexus, not to mention that it was such an important part of the body that Nero was rendered breathless the instant Itami's punch contacted Nero's body. When the punch landed, he would have wanted to shout, "Aaaargh !", but since it was his solar plexus that got punched, all he did was make a silent "Hhh..." sound, letting nearly all of the air inside his chest out. He would have breathed right towards Itami. The grey haired boy could have felt Nero's breathe moving his hair a little bit, nothing more. (His breathe didn't stink, but didn't smeel like flowers either, if you want to know that.)

As an outcome of this clever move of the silver haired boy, Nero was rendered unable of dodging Itami's next attack, so he was tripped with a sweep of the other red-eyed boy's leg, and was falling down to the ground already when he got punched by the same boy in his shoulder. Nero, once he hit the solid ground would have taken a deep breathe. "Finally..." he would have thought, "I can breathe again... What the hell just happened ?". He would have been lying down on his back, and he would realise that Itami has already moved away from him once again. He would turn around to face Itami (not soon enough to realise that he has created 3 clones instead of 2, so Nero would have thought one of the clones coming at him was the real Itami. Nero would take the katana back from the ground, which had fallen off his hand when he got hit in his solar plexus earlier in the spar. Anyway, he would use his right hand to hold the katana and after that, he would have also taken out a kunai with his left hand. He would dash at the clones, and send a horizontal slash towards the three of them, thanks to them not moving since the time they were created.

[let me know if you have a problem with this part, since you did not clarify any action being done by the clones if Nero didn't turn out as you said, I thought I could assume they stood still, anyway...]

The attack would have first hit the one in the right (from Nero's point of view) if it landed. Nero would have, at the same time try to kick the one in the middle and attack the one in the left with his kunai. If any of them were to put their kunai in the way, Nero would have moved his elbow, to stab the clone from its side, meaning his katana would have moved around that kunai, and his arm would have moved away from the clone, as the sharp edge of the katana would have moved the opposite way. Of course Nero, thinking one of them would have been the real Itami, wouldn't try to make a fatal wound, meaning the katana wouldn't go too deep into one of the clones or the one whom he thought was the real Itami. If any other one tried to attack him while this action, Nero would have had his kunai or kick facing them.

Nero would have known that it was an imperfect plan, that had a huge chance of failing, but he thought that it was the only thing he could have done against 3 Itami's. Of course, he could have hid or ran away, but what would the point have been ? The spar was merely for the sides to know each other's way of fighting a little. It was not one of those spars Nero was eager to win. He wasn't doing his best (not that it would have changed much anyway, in his opinion, since he has realised that his opponent was at least as clever as him, and more skilled, also obviously more experienced.)

His attacks succeeding, Itami smirked as he created the third clone and hid. Nero was on the floor and completely missed Itami's deception. Watching the fight between his clones and Nero, he was already formulating a plan in his head.

[small problem, two are on one side of Nero and one is on the other, as in, two are in front of him and one is behind ... or something like that. I'm just gonna write as if you only attacked two, and then just turned around and attacked the third -if that's okay with you. :)]

Nero held a kunai and a katana in his hands, and slashed at the two clones on one side of him. Both didn't put much of a fight because Itami wanted to make them dissapear anyway, he only created them as a distraction and they were using too much chalra to maintain. They both dispersed immediately but the clone that stood on the other side of Nero evaded his attacks, and stayed at a distance. He was sure Nero thought this was the real Itami.

The last remaining clone ran towards Nero then, his kunai raised high and then at the last meter jumped up upon Nero and slashed down at him with the weapon. He gracefully moved sideways and pushed past Nero, stoping behind him and aiming for his back (or side if the boy turned around) with his fist. The real Itami in the mean time lifted his hand up to his mouth and breathed wind chakra in it, creating a swirling ball that he threw at Nero's form, hoping he'd be distracted by his clone. He would then jump out of his hiding place and throw three senbon after the ball, which would be almost invisible in the glimmer of the ball's wind chakra.

Running towards Nero, he would add a kick at his hips.
