Catching an Art Thief I (Private, Yami)

Yami sighed as he looked at the night sky of Funkagakure. The moon and stars were hidden by the ash black clouds and soot filled sky. The volcano's were constantly throwing out ash and soot which blocked out the beautiful staring night. Yami let his hands run through the fur of his familiar Cerberus who sat beside him chewing on a large steak. He was out tonight for a mission he had taken on to find and capture a thief in the village who was stealing valuable art works. He was using Cerberus so he could hopefully gain the thieves sent and have his companion track him down. Cerberus barked at his master as he finished with his steak. Yami patted him on the head and jumped down from the roof tops Cerberus landing on the ground to meet him. Yami clapped his hands together getting dust off them as he headed off to the first location where the robberies had begun. The area was wrapped with yellow tape marked ‘do not enter’. Yami stepped over the tape heading into the building with Cerberus behind him. The family was out staying with relatives while the search was conducted.

Yami headed to the room which the painting was stored in and surveyed the room. Cerberus sniffed the air heading over to corners sniffing them. Yami turned to Cerberus as he patted an area whining at it. The medic approached the dog crouching down to where a piece of torn black fabric was. He looked up finding matching fabric hanging from a low hat hook. The fabric must have gotten torn and ripped. From records the figure was dressed in all black. Yami grabbed the fabric and held it to Cerberus’s nose. The dog sniffed it and barked having caught the scent. Yami nodded and the dog raced off leaping through a window shattering the glass as he took off down the streets. Yami took on after leaping onto roof tops and running after Cerberus keeping his distance. The dog was moving swiftly through alley ways tracking the scent as a figure came into view running along cement walls a clothed bundle under the arms. Cerberus jumped barking and growling as he bit the figure on the right leg pulling him to the ground and sprawling across it the bundle flying through the air.

Yami jumped grabbing the bundle and landed on the ground. He unravelled it revealing a stunning piece of artwork. Yami gently sat it on the ground and turned to face the thief. Cerberus had torn the face mask off revealing a male around twenty years with black eyes and grown hair sneering at him, “I recognise you Haji Kimoto you failed the Genin exams three times and so was kicked out of the program” spoke Yami recognising the face from the hospital records. The man Haji scowled and pulled out a handful of shuriken and threw them at Yami. Yami removed a surgical knife from his pouch and used it to deflect each strike a bored look on his bishounen features, “To slow”

Yami blurred forward appearing in front of Haji lashing out with his right foot. His foot connected with the thief’s face knocking him across the ground his right leg bleeding from Cerberus’s bite. As the man began to stand Yami performed a series of hand seals breathing in, “Mizurappa!” Yami opened his lips expelling a large jet of water that struck the man sending him flying into a concrete wall with enough force knocking him out. It seemed his intense training exercises had built his speed up quite nicely and his chakra reserves. Yami approached the man and picked him up tossing him over his shoulder before retrieving the art work and heading off to make a report.
