Mission: Assisting the Academy
Thu May 02, 2013 6:31 am
It felt good to be back at the academy, even if it was to do some repairs to the place. Well, Masaru had to admit that the repairs were needed. Some parts of the academy were in disrepair, and it was a shame that the place where the future ninja of Konoha were educated was in such a state. Masaru allowed himself a few minutes of nostalgia, thinking about memorable classes, great training sessions, as well as trying to master the basic techniques. But after thinking about the memories for a short while, he had to get to work.
The mission description had mentioned quite a few things, including, but not limited to, painting fences, refurbishing sparring arenas, fixing targets, and the sharpening of tools. Well, at least Masaru would not be the only one here, as other genin had been assigned to the mission as well, which was a rather good thing, as Masaru thought that it would take quite a while for him to get all this done, if he were on his own. But despite the fact that they were quite a few, Masaru thought that they were half a dozen or so, they might as well get started.
Well, even though Masaru did not have his puppet, it did not mean that he could find no use for his Chakra Threads. They could actually be quite useful here. He attached some strings to a few painting brushes, dipped them in paint, and made the brushes begin painting the fences while slowly walking alongside the fence, controlling the brushes with the chakra threads from his fingers. As he could three brushes simultaneously and could control them separately, the painting of the fences was done rather quickly, probably a lot quicker than any other genin could have done. Or well, it was probably quicker than what most genin could have done.
When the fences had been painted, Masaru moved on to something else. After briefly talking with the ninja doing the logistical work, Masaru was directed towards the training grounds, in order to assist there by working on the target dummies. His chakra threads were a great help here as well, due to the fact that he could easily move the training dummies around with them, and the parts of the training dummies that were blown off or otherwise separated from dummies. However, repairing the dummies took longer time. Although Masaru had made his previous puppet himself, maybe especially because of that, he found it rather dull to just put together the academy training dummies again.
Well, at least it would be… On a second thought, no, it would not really be training for making puppets, as puppets were much more intricate than these simple dummies, which had no other job than being able to withstand a few hits. Puppets on the other hand needed to be not only durable, but also had to be able to go on the offensive. Or well, some puppets had to be able to do that. He ought to make some more defensive puppets at some time as well.
