Kohanagakure Squad Zero Meeting [Private/IO]
Sat May 11, 2013 8:24 am
It was high in the morning, nothing like another day to lay back and enjoy the moment. The sun was out, clear skies. No clouds in sight, a normal day in fact. A squad was scheduled to meet at the Third Training Grounds, squad zero. Now what squad would be given the number "Zero"? Who knows, maybe there were in fact the first squad assigned. Now let's trail back for a second...Third Training Grounds..plains with three logs...when the sun set's it has a rather..nice view.
Squad Zero...Gaki Shina was assigned to enroll as their leader. He was originally planning to become a jounin before leading a squad, but the jounin exams wasn't starting anytime soon. So he decided to stretch back and lead a squad, and anyway he could pick up on some ryo. So...as a matter of fact Gaki sent an invitation to each one of the genin in his squad, originally they were suppose to meet at an academy room. But these were experienced genin, so he thought they'd need a more fresh area.
Gaki sat on memorial stone, which was about 1000 years old. No one could read the print on there, hardly enough you could even translate it. Gaki had on his normal accessories, his personal gloves, 50 Kilogram Weights, and Steel Toe Boots. He had 2 test bells inside of his pocket, and 3 sake bottles in his ninja pouch. His multi weave mask was under his black shirt and that was under his chunin jacket. He awaited for the 3 genin to show up.

When he had found out whom his teammates were Masaru had been rather happy. Two other genin that he had met before and he had little trouble talking to either of them. He already knew that they could do, and they knew him to be a puppeteer, so their teamwork would probably get rather good rather quickly. Their team leader, on the other hand, was an unknown variable. He had gotten the note telling them to meet him here, but there had been no information as to what they would be doing. For that reason, Masaru assumed that it would be a test of some sort. It would be fairly logical as well, as a test would allow their leader to figure out what they needed to work on as a team, who had which strengths, and how these strengths could be used to cover for weaknesses.
Well, if there was a test, Masaru still had no idea what kind of test it might be. For that reason, he was wary of his surroundings as he strode into the training grounds. While he could not be completely sure of the fact, he did not believe that his new leader knew that he was a puppeteer. And, unlike most rookie puppeteers, he no longer carried his puppet on his back, which normally gave puppeteers away to those who knew what to look for. Instead, he had his two puppets stored inside two scrolls, which was hidden under the large white cape that he wore. While it might be impractical in actual combat, it had the advantage of hiding his specialty. Furthermore, it might allow him to switch himself out with one of his puppets, as they wore a white cloak like the one Masaru wore.
For a moment, Masaru almost forgot why he was here, when he saw someone sitting on the memorial stone. In Masaru’s mind, one simply does not do such things. Why would one sit on a memorial stone when there were so many other things to sit on? As Masaru was about to give the other ninja a piece of his mind, the pieces fell into place in his mind. He and his team had been told to meet their new leader here, so there was a pretty good chance that this was him. Well, only one way to figure that one out. “Am I correct in assuming that you are the leader of Konoha Team Zero?” He asked the other ninja, hoping a bit for him to say no, as Masaru was already slightly annoyed at the other ninja for sitting on the memorial stone.

Kahen walked slowly to his destination, which was the third training grounds. He was told to meet in this spot from what the letter, the was held in his left hand, had told him. Inside the letter it had also told him about who his teammates were. Knowing who were his teammates were excited him because he actually did know them. Kahen smiled at the thought. At least he will have friends on the team but then his mind went somewhere else. What if he couldn't help his teammates? What if he held them back? Kahen shook his head. No, he could be strong like them. All he has to do is try, right?
The Zexus just passed over small bridge that led into the third training grounds. Kahen could be seen in his normal attire. Which consisted of: A black leather jacket that had a white fur-trim around the hood and only reached the center of his abdominal, black leather gloves, black leather pants that were a little baggy but was supported by a brown belt that had a silver skull on the front of it, black shoes that had a white bottom and underneath his jacket was a v-neck white shirt and a silver necklace that rested on the opening of his chest. He had this look for a while. Even though his personality was completely opposite of what he wore, he still liked his outfit.
Kahen was looking down while he was walking, until he heard voice talking. Was that Masaru, he thought as he looked up and saw it was and he was only a couple feet away. Kahen turned his head saw a male sitting on a memorial stone. Kahen didn't think to much of it as he turned his focus back to Masaru. "Masaru! Can you believe it? We're on the same team," Kahen said with a smile looking towards him and looked at the male. "And you must be our leader?" Kahen smiled at the male as he turned his body adjacent to both of them.

Ayumi got an invitation to meet her team this morning, she was waiting for a team for some time now and it was finally time. Luckily her teammates were people she knew, Kahen and Masaru. She thought highly of both and was enthusiastic about their future missions. She walked to the third training ground in her usual attire and all her equipments, she wanted to be prepared in case of a test. She didn't know many of the "higher-ups" in Konoha so there was a good chance the leader and her weren't acquaintances.
When she arrived the two boys were already there, and probably the... boy on top of the memorial stone was their leader? He looked really young though so he could also be just a friend of Masaru or Kahen. She went near them and smiled, "Talk about a coincidence, this will be a great team."

{My character's only 18 Ayumi QWQ}
Fiddling with his thumbs, Gaki lifted his heard as he heard the sound of a step. There stood the first genin, not to tall wearing a mysterious white cloak. Who wear's cloaks these days? Not much people to be exact, Gaki thought for a second if the boy was some homeless bum or he was hiding something. He shrugged off the feeling, now the two just stared at each other. Gaki wondered what he was thinking, after a quick staring contest the boy finally spoke up. The boy was a new member to Team Zero, a smirk crossed Gaki's face, the first member had arrived. "That is indeed correct, and I'm sure you are...". Gaki studied his face once more, then remembering the genin files he was sent for his squad he snapped his fingers. "Ah, Masaru...Kimura?", he hoped he got the name right.
Hearing footsteps growing near, he turned to see another rookie arriving at the meeting spot. Gaki heard him call Masaru's name right away, he must have been friends or a relative to the person. He seemed surprised that the two were on the same team, well if it was meant to be it'll happen. The boy then looked towards Gaki asking him if he was there leader. Gaki nodded, "Indeed, and you must be Phan...". From process of elimination, there was only 1 other male in the team.
Hearing another footstep, Gaki turned to the direction of the 3rd member to arrive. Once again another friend of the 2, man what good luck they had. Gaki didn't have much luck as a genin, he had to do all sorts of things on his own. "It seems your all here, well then let's get started".
Gaki raised his head smiling, "Before anything today, I'd like to hear more about you, all. Your name, surname. Speciality, Nature Element, special techniques. Your hobbies, likes, dislikes, and your goal. Maybe even any comments you'd like to ask".
Gaki then put his hands on the memorial stone and lifted himself up jumping from the stone, "My name is Gaki Shina, I'm your squad leader. Specialities? I'm a Taijutsu Specialist. Nature Element? I have none. Special Abilties? Classified. My Hobbies? My workout routine. Likes? The power of Youth.. Dislikes? There's not much that I dislike. My Goal? That's classified information. Now it's your turn... Gaki pointed to Masaru, "Your first..the early bird get's the worm..", Gaki teased.

For a moment, the only thing that filled Masaru’s thoughts was dread of having a believer in the infamous ’power of youth’ as his team leader. However, being a ninja, the only sign of this was a slight twitch in one of his eyes as ‘power of youth’ was mentioned. Luckily, neither he nor any of his other teammates were taijutsu specialists, so their team leader would, hopefully, not manage to turn any of them to the ‘power of youth’. Nevertheless, he could not allow himself to despair due to that, especially since he already knew both of his teammates. They ought to be able to help each other through this.
“My name is Masaru Kimura, and yes, you did get it right, although I’m honestly not that concerned with it.” He said although everyone present knew his name. Oh well, manners never hurt anyone. “As for my speciality, I am a puppeteer. With regards to my naturel elements, I have no idea whatsoever. I have never used nature manipulation. And unless you count the fact that I can make my own puppets, then I have no special abilities.” He informed his team, while briefly thinking about the next thing; hobbies, likes, and dislikes. Would making puppets count as a hobby? “Well, if you can say that your hobby is your workout routine, then I guess that making and improving puppets count as mine. I play chess as well, which is one of the things that I like. That reminds me, Ayumi, I believe that you owe me a chess match at some time.” He said, with a smile to Ayumi.
“As for other things I like, then I rather like growing stronger generally, through studying, training, and seeing how I have improved by testing my limits. Naturally, I enjoy spending time with my friends as well. As for things that I dislike…” He said, and then grew distant for a moment, as if being many years in the past, reliving a distant memory. “I absolutely despise missing-nins. I also do not like being bossed around, unless there is a good reason to do so.” He said, with the last thing mostly aimed at their team leader. While he did not mind obeying orders, and he would do what a superior told him to in a combat-situation, he would not just do anything that a higher-up told him to. There had to be justifications for it. “My goal is to become a good puppeteer, and prove that leaf ninja can be good puppeteers a well.”

[Bahaha, my character's name isn't phan. :D]
Kahen turned his body when he heard faint footsteps coming their way. He looked in the direction of the new comer. From seeing the red hair he knew instantly it was Ayumi. "Ayumi! You're on this team too? Well, this is is exciting!" Kahen almost shouted from him being excited it. I liked Ayumi, just as a friend though, plus she was really strong and will be a chuunin in no time. "And you're right, this will be a great team," he said, but hoping his words won't foreshadow anything to come. Kahen turned back to his team leader.
Kahen felt a sweat drop run down the side of his face. He wasn't good at talking in front in people, especially about what he likes and dislikes. Good thing Masaru went first for Kahen try to gain up confidence to speak in front of his leader. After listening to Masaru tell the male about himself, Kahen gave Masaru a smile for doing so well, but since Masaru finished, that means he would have to go next. Kahen cringed at the thought. "I guess I have to go next," he said as he slightly laughed awkwardly and put his hand behind his head, rubbing his hair.
"W-Well, my name is Kahen Zexus and my specialty is genjutsu, though I am not very good at it," Kahen paused and looked at the ground putting his hand to his side,"My natural element? Ermmm, I never tried anything that required the use of the elements, but I think I have been able to use water although I am not for sure. Kahen stated raising his head back up at the male. "My hobbies...well, I love to read, but I don't think that is considered a hobby. I do like to play music, it's actually one of my passions." Kahen said putting his hand to his chest and closing his eyes and smiled. After a few seconds he stopped doing that and returned to his normal stance. "My likes? This might be awkward but I love to eat. I think that's more of a hobby then a like. I also like music and poison. I don't why I like poison's but I wish to study it more. Now for my dislikes, I really despise lettuce, it's so nasty and gross. I mean, who would want to eat that crap." Kahen said with an annoyed expression on his face. After Kahen finished his speech, he sighed with a breath of fresh air and looked at Ayumi, stating that it was her turn to go.

His goal is classified information, huh? That was interesting. When Kahen was done with his speech, it was Ayumi's turn. "Well.. I hate lettuce too" she smiled and started introducing herself to their new sensei. "My name is Ayumi Uzuki, although I use taijutsu as well, my specialty is ninjutsu so I use my water element a lot. My special technique is Water-Sky Convergence, which allows me to draw water from the ground and use it as I like. If I can master it, I will be able to draw water from thin air as well. My other techniques are also mostly water-based. When we come to my likes and dislikes.." she stopped for a second, she didn't like to tell people she sang, matter of fact, only Hideyoshi knew she sang but this was her team now so it was no time for embarrasment, they would be her team for a long time and they were people she already was close with except Gaki-sensei.
"I love resting in hot springs since I love water, also I like.. to sing, play chess and I don't know if I can count it as a hobby but I love training. I love apples and tend to eat them whenever I am semi-hungry and see one on a tree. I can't stand too much laziness, I don't like to see people waste their potential. Finally, my goal is to become the best Hokage this village has seen, and prove how females can be strong shinobi too."

The more and more Gaki listened to what they had to say, the more it made him feel that he was growing closer to them. Though his face pattern never changed, he just nodded at each subject. He also wondered why Kahen didn't mention any goals, maybe he still had a thought on his mind? "Now let's get back to what I was planning to do..". Gaki then put a hand in his pocket, taking out 2 bells. "There's a specific task which can prove your strength, the very thing I'd like to test with you three". He lifted his head towards the three.
"As you can see there is 2 bells in my hand", he laid them out in his hand for them all to see, then clenched his fist. "Like I said before, there is a specific task which can prove your strength. I like to call it a training session to be honest, but a rather special one"
Gaki crosses his arms, his last training session was with Kinominiki Uchiha, and he was a jounin. "Whoever can get these 2 bells in the matter of 10 minutes(30 posts in total from here), will be allowed to stay in this squad. The one who doesn't, will have to pass the genin exam again and join another squad".
Gaki then smirks, "And if none of you get any of these bells, I'll have you all repeat as Academy Students..". That was the fun part, taunting them so they can try there hardest.
Gaki took out a random timer, turning around to set it on the memorial stone. "Ready....GO!" he said flicking the timer on...He turns around to see what the genin have to plan next.

Wait what. If they did not get those bells, they were going back to the academy? How come that that is even allowed? Besides… there were only two bells, and they were three on a team. If what he said was true, then that meant that at least one of them was going back to the academy. Masaru glanced at each of his teammates. He had been happy when he had been put on a team with them, and he would loathe seeing either of them getting sent back to the academy. He did, however, have to admit that he would prefer not going back either. But one of them had to go back, from what their sensei said.
There had to be some way for them to stay together as a team. What if… would that work? It might. But what were the other options? None that Masaru could think of at the moment. “Guys, listen up. I have a plan that might allow us to stay together as a team. It does, however, require us to work together as a team against this guy.” He said, dropping his voice so that only his two teammates ought to be able to hear him. “If he is a taijutsu expert, he will most likely not be all that good with illusions, especially if the illusion in question is plausible. Especially if you can hit him with a larger illusion first, so that he will not expect minor illusions. Therefore, I suggest that I try to distract him with my puppets, while you,” he turned to Ayumi, “prepare one of those water techniques of yours. The Water Dragon thing if you want. I will try to lock him down in melee with my puppets, so that he will not be able to escape the blast.”
When he had said that, he turned to Kahen. “While the two of us are doing that, it would be nice if you could hit him with an illusion of some kind, preferably something that he will be able to recognize as an illusion fairly quickly. The purpose of this illusion will not be to cripple him, but to make him look out for major illusions, instead of small ones.” He paused for a moment, and looked at Ayumi once more, but then back to Kahen again, as this was meant for both of them. “The main goal of this strategy is to hit him with a major water technique, and then use an illusion to believe that this technique blew the two bells that he had away. While he recovers from the blast, we will act as if picking up the bells, but you, Kahen, will use your illusions to make him believe that we have a bell each. If he cannot recognize them as fakes, then he cannot really fail any of us.”
