Akira, Taro's Training
Mon Jul 29, 2013 12:04 am
Taro was almost sprinting, making sure to not run into the people that were going by but also trying to get to the place he was supposed to be as fast as possible. "Man, am I so late!" he thought, almost running into an old woman by accident. "Dad's going to be so mad!!" Taro rushed past the family store, heading straight for the back building. He stopped, catching his breath for a second, and surveyed the scene. The building was old and rundown, though the inside was much nicer than the outside. Taro moved towards the door, but before he could touch the door knob, the door swung open suddenly. His father, Musei, stood in the doorway. "Where have you been?!" his father roared, looking at Taro with a glare. Taro looked down at the ground, ashamed. Taro's father looked at him, for a second more, then a grin appeared on his face. "I'm just kidding! Come on, let's hurry up so we can get our daily sparring in before work." Taro's father then proceeded to hurry through the door.
Taro looked at his father, open-mouthed. Usually his father would be furious if he missed sparring. "He must be in a good mood." Taro thought. Taro contemplated this for a moment, then shrugged, and stepped through the door. Immediately, a fist came just in front of his face. "Wha?!" Taro said as he reacted, blocking the punch and moving away from the source of the fist. "What? You think that we have time getting set up?" Taro's father said, as he came forward to attack Taro. Taro looked at his father, not sure what to say. Finally, the words "Fine. Let's go." left his lips. His father's lips curled up into a smile. "Atta boy." he said, and they began.
Taro punched for his fathers abdomen while deflecting the arms that were there to block. His father brought his knee up to block the punch, though Taro had been expecting this. He adjusted his aim for the chest area. Taro's father turned sideways to dodge the attack and brought his free leg to kick Taro in the back. "Gah!" coughed Taro, who turned around after recovering from the attack. "Oh come on!" his father said, taunting Taro. "I barely touched you!" Taro brought an elbow to smash his fathers face with. His father grabbed the elbow, trying to twist it, but Taro had snuck in a knee to the side. His father winced with the pain, but he kept twisting the elbow he controlled, until Taro was on the ground.
"Give up yet?" Taro's father said, knowing the answer before it even left his son's lips. "You wish!" Taro said as he jabbed his fathers side with his index and middle finger. "Ouch!" his father yelped, as Taro came up with a knuckle punch to the thigh. "Gah!" his father yelped as Taro did a roundhouse kick, following it up with a one-two punch. His father was able to block the kick but not the quick punches. His father, was rocked back, a small trickle of blood coming from a bloody lip. Taro's eyes became wide. "Dad, you okay?" he asked. His father was silent for a moment, and then Taro felt a punch hit him in the abs. "Ha!! Never let your guard..." his father started to say, but never finished because at that moment, his father realized that what he had hit was actually a sparring dummy! His father looked at it in amazement, not paying attention to the figure that stood behind him, with a wooden sword at the fathers neck. "Hehe... Substitution, eh? Always thought it was a little kids jutsu. Guess I was wrong." his father said as he turned around. Taro stood there, ready for another attack. His father looked at him, and said, "You win. I lose. You've gotten good at fighting." Taro's father smiled, and left. Taro lowered the sword, grinned, and followed suit.
