Haru listened as they walked, as Haruna explained her creed. Her order seemed a little strict, they were wanderers, priestesses, healers, that sort of thing. Somehow, Haru felt he’d heard this all before, though he still listened to her intently. He noticed her voice drop slightly as she spoke of her code, though he didn’t pursue it any further. This code of hers did sound sort of interesting, however. She went on to talk of her “Shrine” in sunagakure, the village hidden in the sand. Haru had never been to that village himself, but he had had the great fortune of meeting one of their ninja… As this thought crossed his mind, with his hand opposite her so as not to reveal it to her, he quietly fiddled his fingers for a moment, pulling a small finger bone from his hand, and rolling it in his palm. Leander had given him quite a good impression on Sunagakure indeed. He smiled slightly as she asked where they were walking.
”Oh, we’re just seeing the sights. You said you were new around here, so I thought I’d show you around.” He would say, turning a corner and heading down the street, reaching the particular place he had in mind. A public bath, Tengakure’s equivalent of a hot spring. ”This is the baths, a nice place to go and relax. There’s usually not too many people here, so it’s not so crowded. He would explain. Leaning against the wall, he would turn on his byakugan, looking into the spa. ”Actually, it’s almost empty right now, if you want to come back later.” He said, nodding at her. ”Just a few girls in the pool” He would add, legitimately trying to be helpful. If she did nothing, he would simply stand back up, starting to walk down the street, to their next destination.

Haruna closely followed behind the young boy, only walking a few steps after him. She smiled. She had actually managed to have a conversation with a boy. Sure, she had been quite flustered at the beginning of it, but she was getting used to his presence. Well, there was still a slight feeling of discomfort in the pit of her stomach, but it was rather minor compared to how she usually acted around members of the opposite sex. She heard him say that they were going to a bathhouse. Having been raised in Sunagakure, the young priestess had never really been to one of those. She was slightly excited to go see one and maybe enjoy a quick bath in one of them.
She watched the young boy closely as he leaned on the wall. She was unsure as to what he was doing. Haruna simply stood right in front of him, cocking her head to the side in confusion. She watched as he activated his infamous bloodline ability, the Byakugan. Though Haruna had never seen the technique in person, she had seen pictures of it and had read enough to recognize it, especially up close like this. She listened to him speak, though barely. She was more in awe of the fact that she was witnessing one of the oldest bloodlines in the shinobi world in practice. “So you are a Hyuuga!” she said in awe and admiration. The Byakugan, the power to see through… Oh gods.
Haruna blushed a very deep shade of red. “That means you can… you have the ability to…” she let out a high pitched shriek and covered the private areas of her body with her arms as best she could. He could see right through her clothes and she was standing right in front of him without even noticing. What’s worse, he was spying on the other women in the bathhouse. “PERVERT!” she yelled, her attitude and demeanor changing almost entirely. Taking advantage of the close distance instinctively and not really giving much thought to her actions, Haruna would try to slap Haru across the face. How dare he be so disrespectful?!

Haru smiled slightly as Haruna awed at his byakugn for a moment. He loved that eye, it set him apart from everyone else. Unfortunately, Haru realized at the last moment that that trick was only appropriate when he was talking to one of his guy friends… and it seemed he made her mad… She covered herself, before trying to slap him. Reacting with speeds so fast Haruna couldn’t even track the movement, Haru would catch her hand by the wrist deftly, holding her arm in place tightly, looking her in the eyes.
”Haruna, covering yourself wouldn’t work anyways, y’know.” He said knowledgably. ”I can just see through your arms…” He explained bluntly. Living his entire life with this ability, he’d never really tried to exploit it like that. And when he WAS using it, he usually had bigger problems. So now, in this moment, he realized just how much he’d been missing out on in life… He couldn’t help but form a devilish grin, thinking of all the possibilities… He shook his head quickly, his face returning to normal.
”And Haruna, it’s not like I can help it. Using this is like second nature. It’s only natural that I would… notice other things… But that’s not my intention. I was just trying to help you out a little!” He would say, not letting go of her arm. He then realized the fact that he was maintaining eye contact and not letting go of her was a bad sign. Even worse, he still hadn’t turned off the byakugan, and had also just confirmed he was in fact able to see her… He quickly released his grip on her wrist, still leaning against the wall. However, as the byakugan was second nature to him, he neglected to turn it off, mostly out of his paranoid little habit.

Haruna’s expression was unchanging as the older Genin caught her arm in midair. She just grunted, keeping her somewhat cold expression. Reacting quickly, she would reach over Haru’s back with her free hand to take a hold of the sword and pull it out of its sheath. Regardless of whether or not that worked, she would try to set herself free from Haru’s grasp and leap back about a meter and a half. She let out another shriek at Haru’s words. So any attempt at covering herself up was completely useless. Great. Just… great. “Well you know what? Two can play at that game,” She said, bringing her hands together to form a sign.
The young priestess’s dark gray eyes suddenly turned a bright shade of gold. She could now clearly see the weak points in the other boy’s body, where she could hit in order to make his bones possibly shatter. If she managed to pry the sword away from him, she would hold it towards him. Haruna ad some experience with weapons, but truth be told, she only needed them to pierce through the weak points in a person’s justu or armor. Doing so with her bare hands was risky, she knew that much.
The young girl had fractured her arms and legs on multiple occasions in order to stop an attack that – at the time – she had probably underestimated. She had promised herself after the umpteenth time of that happening that she would no longer use her bare limbs to attempt to do the same. So until she learned how to properly coat her hands with chakra that could pierce through such attacks, she would simply resort to using weaponry. She remembered how she had pried the bow and arrows off of her older sister’s body only a few short weeks ago.
Hokuto had always been gifted with a bow. Haruna had seen her older sister pierce through and disperse several powerful jutsu with just a well-placed arrow. Haruna had always promised herself that she would learn how to use the majestic weapon with the same accuracy and deadly precision. But for now, he wound was still much too fresh. Every time she looked at the weapon she had collected, she couldn’t help but cringe, knowing that if Hokuto had actually wanted her dead, Haruna would have stepped into an early grave instead.
Bu now was hardly the time to reminisce. She had an opponent to face. She would wait calmly – with or without the sword in hand – until Haru attacked. She didn’t want to rush herself. Timing would be key if she ever wanted a shot at even scratching him. It was clear by just looking at his body structure through her Sugan that he was both faster and stronger than her. The young priestess bit her lower lip. Her only weapons were timing and wit. She couldn’t let herself be taunted or carried away any further. She had to concentrate and keep a clear eye on Haru’s movements so that she could dodge and counter them.

Haru would smirk as Haruna grabbed his sword. He was feeling excessively cocky today, he even tilted his back a little to help her draw the sword that he kept on his back. He would watch as she jumped a meter and a half or so away from him, still well inside his kill range. Leaning against the wall, he reached over his back, and pulled off the sheath, tossing it to her.
”Two can play at that game? What, are you gonna take a peek at my privates, too?” He would ask teasingly, cracking his knuckles in anticipation. If Haruna didn’t step in to attack after a moment, he would sigh, shaking his head, and taking up a gentle fist stance. ”You’re seriously gonna make me come to you? Well, alright then.” He would say. He would move at her general speed to keep the fight fair, he didn’t want to play his best hand right off the bat. He would take a few quick steps towards her, using a fairly predictable method of attack to begin. His hands would begin to glow blue as he prepared his attack, the Eight Trigrams: Sixty four palms. First, he would test her reflexes. Of course, he’d nerf his speed a bit, as to make it at least plausible for her to fight him, but just barely. (Haru is moving at 50 speed, Haruna’s max tracking speed, meaning he appears blurry and unclear.)
He would begin the attack, dashing at her, and suddenly spinning to her right, still out of range of the short Wakizashi she’d stolen from him. As he spun, he would aim a swift kick with his right foot, aimed at the hand she was holding the sword with. He would lower the strength of the kick to something she could handle without getting injured. (Kick’s power is 15 strength) After all, if he used his full strength, she wouldn’t really have hands when he was through with her. After executing the kick, he would spin in his heals, beginning his eight trigrams attack, boosting his speed significantly (Powered up +20 speed, boosting his speed beyond her tracking speed). He would aim a strike at tenketsu on the left side of her neck, her right hip, her right side, and right shoulder in that order.
If all four of these strikes hit their marks, he would stop the technique, not wanting to paralyze her, he would back up quickly, about 3 meters from her, facing her with one hand behind his back. ”So? Was that too fast for you? Do I need to dial it down?” He would ask her politely, with an air of cockiness thrown in.

So Haru would simply let her steal his weapon from him, huh? Well, she wasn’t sure she would make him regret that choice, but she would at least show him that she wasn’t as frail as she seemed to be. Because of the Code she had been sworn to years ago, she was used to often fighting losing battles. She had learned to see every loss as an experience. Even if she didn’t win, she always learned something. She could always get up to fight another day. Hokuto… Hokuto was the one who often spoke words of encouragement to her. Of course, at first they didn’t seem like it to young Haruna. She remembered that there was a time where she would avoid sparring with her older sister, knowing that it was an inevitable loss.
“You only lose if you decide to quit because you’re scared. Even if your opponent beats the living daylights out of you, if you stick through with it and get back up, you win. That’s the only rule that matters in a serious fight. So do yourself a favor and start actually trying to win.”
With a steady stance and eyes narrowed towards her target, the young priestess stood perfectly still. She looked at him, trying to take in as many details of him as she could. “Pfft.” she began to respond to Haru’s taunt. “You wish you had anything worth seeing, pervert,” she added. Her sudden outbursts and change of attitude often made people wonder what happened to the sweet and kind little girl that had been there only moments before. Haruna didn’t quite know herself. All she knew was that this only happened when she was offended or when she was particularly passionate about something.
In any case, the young girl quickly pinpointed something that she could use to her advantage. She let a small smirk grace her features for a very short moment. One of his legs was sprained, possibly because of his little stunt with the skyscraper. She saw his body starting to prepare for an attack. Her keen eyes focused on him while she still could, while he was still building his momentum. On pure instinct, she leaped onto the ceiling above her, making sure to attach herself to it with the necessary amount of chakra.
The young priestess had barely moved in time to dodge the attack. She had been too slow and she would pay for it quite soon. She could feel her left leg swelling up where the attack had hit. Needless to say, that part of her skirt was torn, which Haruna assumed was a deliberate move on his part. She let out a groan. Seeing as she only had the wakizashi as a weapon at the moment, she would only have one chance to disperse or weaken Haru’s attack. She looked at him once again, pinpointing the weakspots in his body and jutsu.
Her eyes widened. She acted on pure instinct, aiming keenly at the spot she had been able to see. His technique was purely physical, meaning that he would probably be able to stop his barrage in order to focus on her. So she couldn’t afford to be delayed. Haruna would take a deep breath. The byakugan had a weak spot, a place where it was unable to see effectively. She would visualize it clearly now. With a flick of her wrist, the young priestess would throw the wakizashi at him as if it were a projectile, aiming for the blind spot in his back. She would stay still, waiting to see the results of her actions.

[Note: Don't really know if he Byakugan has the blind spot here on the site, so I jus went with the canon version. The idea of the post was to interrupt Haru's initial jutsu before he sped up and became impossible for her to track (since the Sugan's ability is to disperse abilities within my chakra's range, in other words, up to C rank). I made Haruna take the hit since she's obviously slower and wouldn't have been able to realistically dodge the whole thing. If you need me to change something, go ahead and tell me (: this is my first fight on this site so I'ms still getting used to how the system works.]

Yup, she got the sword alright. Along with a nasty little comment about the size of his… package. He supposed it was to be expected, and luckily, he had a particularly nasty comeback. Wish he had anything worth seeing…. Ha.
”You’re right… Mine is nowhere near as big as yours is, Haruna.” He would snap as his kick connected with her leg, just as she jumped up to the ceiling, the kick ending up tearing her skirt slightly. ”Whoopsie... My bad.” He’d mutter, spinning to recover from his kick. He’d have to let her borrow something to cover that up when this was all over. Mid spin, he would notice her throwing the sword at his blind spot. A smart move, an it may have worked if he were fighting multiple people, but because it was mono e mono, he could focus just on her, meaning his eyes never left her. And because it was a sword aimed at his back, and not say, his hand, he used his full speed to dodge the sword. He would finish the spin, facing her, just as the sword was nearing the contact point, around the front of his neck, since he’d turned around.
As the sword flew towards him, he would utilize the natural flexibility that ran in his family. He twist around, stepping to his left, and pivoting to his right, out of the way of the sword. As it passed him, he would stretch out his hand quickly, wrapping his fingers around the handle of the blade, turning to his right, moving with the sword, twirling it in his hand in a flashy manner, spinning back around to face her, looking at the sword, then back at her like he was offended.
”Now, I just gave you this, and you just throw it back at me? What the hell is this?” He would complain, dropping his combat posterior completely. Without warning, he would dash at his top speed, essentially disappearing from view, leaning over as he ran, and scooping up the sheath Haruna neglected to catch. He would jump up, flipping in the air, so that his feet hit the ceiling of the roofed area they were standing in. He would end up directly behind Haruna.
”Now.” He would say, slipping the sword into the sheath. ”You messed up big time just now.” He would say seriously, reaching around her with his right arm, and offering her the sword again. ”You managed to steal my weapon, but then, you just gave it back to me. I’m assuming that’s all you were packing, so I’d advise you not give away your only defense so easily in the future.” He would advise. If she took the sword, he would retract his arm, deactivating the surface walking technique, twisting in the air, and landing on the ground below her. ”Now can we put this little… Argument… behind us? I really don’t want to hurt you.” He would say apologetically. ”I promise I wasn’t actually looking at your… well, you know.” He would apologize, folding his arms, and backing up a little, lest she drop down on his head or something.

Haruna’s face was almost emotionless. She was cold, calculating. Dammit, he managed to dodge her attack. To be fair, the young priestess had known from the start that it was a gamble. Maybe if she had set up a distraction, things would have worked out differently. Yes, in retrospect, she should have formed a decent number of clones to keep him busy while she tried the same maneuver. Well, it was too late for that at this point. At least she would know what to do if this ever happened again. She didn’t bother trying to move. She knew that keeping to high ground was always a good strategy, even though she could feel torrents of blood rushing to her head.
Well, the fight was near over anyways. She would have to lower herself from the ceiling soon enough. In the meantime, she would stay where she was just in case he tried anything else. Her eyes scanned over the room rather quickly. She located several spots that she could move towards in order to avoid an attack. Still, paranoid as she was, the possibility of him trying to launch another hit at her was less than likely. He seemed to know that he had already won. In fact, as he spoke once again, his posture visibly relaxed. Haruna did the same, letting the tension in her shoulders dissipate. She closed her eyes and let out a sigh.
The young priestess’s breath caught as she opened her eyes widely. Haru had managed to get behind her without her even noticing. She let out a small gasp. She suddenly became tense once again, but held back from acting upon instinct. She knew that doing so really wouldn’t help her case. Haruna smirked as he spoke. She didn’t turn around to see the young boy. She heard the slight click of the sword returning to its sheath and once again relaxed. “I didn’t steal your weapon, you let me take it,” her voice was calm and in control.
The young girl sounded analytical, though slightly entertained at the same time. She took the sword that he offered, deactivating the Sugan while she was at it. “You’re much faster and stronger than I am and you could have beaten me quite easily if you wanted to. The way I see it, I only had that one chance. I decided to gamble on it, knowing that it was the only way that I could possibly land a hit.” As she finished speaking, Haruna let go of the chakra that kept her stuck to the roof. She dusted off her torn skirt. Fortunately and for what it was worth, it didn’t tear enough to make it revealing in any way.
Haruna examined the sword that Haru had gifted her with while he apologized. “Well normally I wouldn’t give up so easily, but I suppose this makes up for it,” she said, referring to the sword, of course. She listened to the rest of his apology and let out a low grunt. “Say whatever you want, pervert. Your intentions were clear enough,” she said, obviously not believing for one second that Haru hadn’t intended to spy on either her or the naked women behind the wall.

”Indeed I did let you have it. But you can tell your friends you stole it.” He would say coolly, as she explained why she threw the sword. He would shake his head, clicking his tongue. ”I told you when I introduced myself, if you remember, that I’m a taijutsu expert. That sword of mine… I mean yours… was the only barrier between me and you. Without it, well…” he would trail off mid sentence, wondering what exactly he would have done. He’d attacked her moderately hard, but he’d never really intended to hurt her… Well, he guessed he actually got stumped just then. He had no idea what he would have done if he didn’t stop the fight… Huh. Then that last bit hit him… His intentions were clear enough… ouch…
”About as clear as muddy water. What was I gonna do? Get off to your chakra flow? You can only really see the outline of a person’s body with the byakugan…” He lied, figuring it was a good an attempt as any, since Hyuugas were really the only ones who would know for sure, and most of his kinsmen wouldn’t rat on him that easily… Well, most of them… He would pull his stitching needle from his pocket, looking up at her, and back to the rip in her skirt, before shaking his head quickly.
”Y’know I didn’t do that on purpose…” He would say, twirling the needle in his hand. He decided against trying to sew it up for her, since that would also likely be considered “Perverted” He would simply hold it out in his hand, offering it to her.
”Here, sew up your dress.” He would say, turning and beginning to walk past her. ”And keep the sword. Think of it as an apology for accidentally taking a peek.” He would say over his shoulder, rounding a corner, and disappearing from view. ”See ya.” His voice would echo.

Haruna turned her head over her shoulder to look at Haru as he spoke about the Byakugan’s “true abilities.” She narrowed her eyes and pursed her lips. After a moment of silence, she spoke. “Liar,” she said simply. Some instinct in her gut told her that what he was claiming was false. She tended to trust those feelings when she didn’t have enough rational evidence to come to a conclusion. The young priestess turned around to take the needle from Haru, bowing slightly as she did so. “I know you didn’t do it on purpose,” for a moment, it sounded like she was completely accepting his apology and dismissing her earlier claims, however… “If you had, you would have ripped the whole thing off,” she said with an innocent smile.
The young girl would work on putting her skirt back together later. She nodded, keeping the smile on her face as Haru told her that she could keep the short sword. No doubt it would be useful later on. She inspected it closely, looking at the craftsmanship. It looked relatively new and hardly used. She slid the blade back into its sheath. “Thank you,” she said, sounding quite sincere. Haruna kept her eyes fixed on her new weapon as Haru left. His last words echoed in the empty space. Haruna smirked. “You can count on it,” she said in response, though mostly to herself.
