The lost Boy [P]
Tue Nov 19, 2013 8:09 pm
The day was as it always was in the land of winds, smoldering hot. Yep, everyday the weather is the same, kind of hard to imagine how any body could live out here. The siring rays of the sun beat down on the village, or more specifically, a certain area where all ninja train. It was there that a lone boy, by the name of Sabaku Garuda, resided. The boy now hanging by a rope tied to his ankle, tied to a tree, hanging upside down a couple of inches of the ground. Silly Sabaku, he will never change. "Aww man.."
Before Sabaku managed to get himself in his current situation, he had just woken up from home. he wondered what he would do since he was not assigned to a team yet. A team leader or trainer was something he desperately needed, if Sabaku wanted to retain his academy knowledge, it had been quite a while since he had down anything shinobi productive, a bit too long as a matter of fact. Plenty of letters came to his parents house insisting on taking on low ranked missions, but he always seemed to miss the date. It was then out of boredom that eh decided to venture out to the village, in search for something to do. At first he would try to visit Koroshi, but all he got was silence whenever he knocked on the door, perhaps he wasn't there? Once again, while walking down the village market, he had nothing to do.
But then, something caught his eye, a vendor to his right was huge messenger birds, almost the size of Sabaku himself, being that he was about 3'5. Walking towards the bird, he attempted to reach for the large rope that was attached to his neck acting as a leash, hesitant a little due to the bird matching his size, and then some. Before the vendor merchant could speak, the bird franticly sprouted its wing. Its wings hoisted the bird up in the air, only to nose dive downwards, passing Sabaku, the rope catching Sabaku's ankle as it wrapped around. The two disappearing into the sunset together, hollering at each other in their own native tongue, ahh love.
A minute later, The bird started to descend towards a gated sand pit, about a 30 meter plus area, heading straight for a tree, and well, you know what happens. The bird crashes into the tree, Sabaku gets stuck in the tree. While slowly turning around in a circular motion, he would wait for someone to help him down. What a day, what a day, right?

Within Sunagakure No Sato lies Vergil. In the middle of exiting his home, which just so happened to be a small cave. No decorations, unless one considered the bats that occasionally flew in and out with no regard for his feelings. It would be safe to assume that the 16 yr old lived a very boring life. As if confirming this, he was headed to do the thing he did almost everyday, train. Once gathering his things, Vergil jogs at a moderate pace towards the training grounds, a place he had not been to in a while, preferring to train in seclusion away from others. He was wearing a black tank top that clung tightly to his muscles, as well as a pair of normal pants, that led down towards a normal pair of combat boots.
In a few minutes, his jog comes to halt outside the training grounds. He walks over towards a bench and begins to stretch when something catches his eyes. From afar, roughly ten meters, he sees a boy hanging upside down on a tree by his ankle. He rubs his eyes, in belief that the smoldering heat from the sun was causing him to hallucinate. Even after doing this, he still sees the boy and immediately runs to his aid.
Once by his side, Vergil frees the boy from the rope by grabbing it and pulling on it with just a little of his strength, causing it to snap. With his left hand, Vergil grabs his ankle, and holds the boy in the air once more. Before throwing him in the air slightly, unless something intervened the boys body would make a flipping motion and begin on a safe fall downwards. It was just high enough for the boy to land safely on the ground, but if Vergil felt that he was going to land dangerously, he would reach out and catch him. Either way he would ask the boy an obvious question. "How did you manage to let this happen?"

After idly hanging by rope which was tied to his ankle, he would see a figure's shadow, his being near Sabaku's company. His ankle feeling the grip of a shinobi, he is then hoist into the air. While his form was spinning, sounds of worry came from the mouth of Sabaku. Who wouldn't, though being saved, thrown up into the air with no control was a bit scary. "whoa whoa whoooa", till he finally landed on his back. Bit of groaning here and there, but all was alright, final, he was free from the tree. Sabaku, wondering who this person was while looking towards him, pushed himself off the ground.
Dusting the dirt sand off his clothes, he would turn his body towards him, his full attention now being given to this new comer. He stood there with his new ninja hand band that held the Sunagakure emblem, a bright red shirt plain shirt, kaki pants that cut off mid way towards his shin, a pair o black ankle sandles, and a satchel that was attached to the right side of his wait. His black hair still dirty with sand as it was tough clay, Sabaku looking almost aimlessly towards the guy.
"How I got here, huh...", Sabaku said with his tone getting lower with each word while scratching the back of his head. He didn't want to tell him how he really got in this mess, it wouldn't be cool, as Koroshi says. Whether Sabaku knew it or not, he seemed to pick up a lot of habits from Koroshi unconsciously, whether they be good or bad. Before he continued, the leaves of the tree rumbled as the bird from before managed to free itself, flying away from the too. Sabaku noticed this as he turned slightly towards the bird leaving from behind, but soon returned his gaze back towards, the guy he did not know. "What was it, I slipped... no. I was was was doing some ninja training, that's it." Sabaku now building on to his obvious lie, his cheeks became red. "I was building up my toughness, yeah", Sabaku nodding with affirmation. What a bold face lie, what made it worse was that eh ended with a huge smile. Sabaku will always be the clumsy little kid, shortly after the pause. he would state his name to the other, hoping to gain his in return. "Oh yeah, Hi I'm Sabaku", he said in a cheery tone, while still keeping his trademark smile on display. Hey, kids will be kids.
Sabaku wished that he got to hang out with Koroshi a bit today, he felt that he was the only one he could hang out with, being since he was his best friend. But, it seems he would have to wait. His foot drilled softly into the sand while thinking about it, Sabaku still keeping his smile to keep himself happy.

Vergil is surprised at the result of him tossing the boy into the air. He was expecting the boy to land on his feet, but that obviously wasn't the case, since the boy landed on his back. "Sorry," Vergil says hesitantly, while watching the boy stand back onto his feet. He felt slightly embarrassed and responsible for the boy's fall, but quickly brushed it off, blaming it on the boy's clumsiness. He observes the boy, while he is occupied with brushing the sand from his clothes. He notices a ninja headband, that along with the boy's apparent age signifies that he is at least a Gennin. Unless the kid was some sort of prodigy, which Vergil highly doubts at this point.
The leaves of the tree nearest to them shakes, and this for whatever reason draws the kids attention. He waits patiently for the boy as he seemed to be searching for words. Once he finally finds them, Vergil is forced to listen to the boy's blatant lie, he gives in response to his question. This only leaves Vergil to believe that the boy had done something even more foolish than he had imagined in order to place himself in such a ridiculous situation. Still, he listens throughout the boy's entire story, as if he actually believes it. The boy smiling while speaking, Vergil finds himself annoyed, or was he? No, in fact it was the feeling of jealousy that he found himself experiencing towards the boy. Specifically it was the boy's innocence that's evoking a feeling of envy from Vergil. The boy possessed the exact same personality that Vergil had when he was his age. That is until the cruelties of the world awoke him from such a foolish daze. He now found himself to be a much more darker person overall, his feelings of hatred towards the Uchiha clan growing each passing day. Maybe he subconsciously misses being careless...
The boy, Sabaku, introduces himself, and by law of courtesy Vergil does the same."I'm Vergil, it's a pleasure to meet you." Pausing momentarily, he attempts to create a conversation with the kid. "Training for toughness, eh? Want to see something cool?", if Sabaku agrees, he would walk towards a tree directly across from the one where the bird flew from earlier. This tree is apparently dead, bearing no leaves of any kind, it exhibits a dull grey color. Standing in front of the tree, he pauses for a second, inhaling and exhaling slowly. Almost instantly, he snaps his right leg out away from his body in a kicking motion. He does this rather slowly, to a point that Sabaku would be able to follow, should he be looking. The slowness of the kick does not take away from its strength, this is made obvious when Vergil's shin slams against the tree, creating a visible line of separation at the mid-section of the tree, this soon causes it to fall down backwards away from Vergil and Sabaku. Of course, Vergil could have Sent the tree flying along with its roots, but he was afraid that his bones would not be able to sustain that much pressure.
"I think I might be able to help you with this 'toughness' training of yours, if you don't mind of course." He says this after turning towards the boy, finally coming to the conclusion that it would help the village if he helped train this possible Gennin. Of course, his serious personality, was probably less alluring in comparison to Koroshi's carefree attitude. A person he had the chance of meeting once, but it was strange, he did not know why Sabaku reminded him of the Kazekage.

Sabaku now hearing the stranger's name who was to be now known as Vergil, continued to stare up towards him with a clueless lovable face. He wondered who this guy was, he never seen him before. Looking at his appearance he seemed to be cool. He had that, cool mysterious vibe. Well, that was Sabaku's first impression of him, he wondered what would happen next in their moment of silence. Just then, with a nod of his head directed towards Vergil, he watched as Vergil walked towards the tree. He wondered what the man was going to do, I mean, Sabaku was here, the tree was over there. But suddenly, a loud sound came from the tree, a result of the kick Vergil made against the tree. Sabaku, in awe, watched as the tree fell over, his mouth dropped at the site, it was so cool. Sabaku then nodded his head towards Vergil's remark, requesting to help Sabaku become tougher. "That..., was sooo cool, the what you went Kapow, and the tree went splat!!!", he said while making karate like gestures to the appropriate words, such a kid he was. It was displays like this that made Sabaku jump and smile, cool tricks that he now wanted to learn how to do. Who knows, if Sabaku can learn how to break trees in half, perhaps he would be one step closer to breaking walls like Koroshi?
Sabaku ran up towards Vergil now that he rose to his feet, attempting to grab a loose part of Vergil's pants, if successful he would tug on it slightly numerous times as he wished to learn that cool move. "Vergil Vergil, I'll do anything if you could teach me that move, that's the one I want to know." Sabaku's giddy acts and tone were uncontrollable, I mean, that was a pretty badass move he just did. For now, Sabaku continued to look up towards Vergil for an answer.

Vergil laughs casually, letting his guard down finally, after classifying the kid as harmless, and innocent. "I don't think you'll be able to do this just yet, but I can help you train a bit so that you can in the near future." After saying this, he walks towards the boy, where a plank practice board stands. Erect from the sand, this is a board commonly used for one to practice their physical prowess. "How about we begin with this for starters." He says, while standing behind the board. "Practice hitting this a few times. It'll help a lot with breaking things! Just pretend that the plank is a bad guy, and he wants to hurt the village." He adds the last little bit, in order to increase the boy's interest in the plank, since he did not intend for him to grow bored with his strict personality. If the boy would agree, Vergil would continue to stand behind the plank, watching the boy as he practiced the basics of strength training.

"Alright, Thanks Mr. Vergil", Sabaku's interest was at its highest today. Sabaku's eyes were now forever pinned to Vergil, never to leave him until instructed to do something which required his full attention. The boy is ready to begin his training.
Watching Vergil walk, Sabaku was tasked with his first assignment. Sabaku was told to practice with the wood plank that stood from the sand. Sabaku scratched his head with his right hand in thought, was he suppose to break it? Anyways, the plank was the bad guy, as told by Vergil, and it was up to Captain Sunagakure to take it down. With a nod towards Vergil with a play face with a hint of seriousness, he back up a few inches. Cocking back his arm, he wined up his arm like he was a pitcher, getting ready to charge at the plank with full power. He burst forward with the intend to break the plank. However, when Sabaku went to strike at the plank, his hand came to an immediate stop, seemingly standing still with his fist against the board. Now normally this would all be for dramatic purposes, the board seemingly breaking due to a delay reaction. But, that didn't seem to be the case for Sabaku. With a howl, Sabaku comically ran around both the plank and Vergil, hollering in pain. "AWWW, this hurts this hurts this hurst this HURTS!", a few jumps and leaps around the area was added to the scene. Sabaku sure could get around, when in pain.
Why did it have to happen to Sabaku? It would seem that he was not that physically strong, he had a long way to go to reach the levels of both Vergil and Koroshi.

"Well, maybe strength is not your strong suit..." Vergil says, reassuringly. Though mentally he is in complete disbelief, that the boy could not break something as simple as a wooden board. It seems he still has a long way to go, before he is capable of reaching even half the strength Vergil, and the Kage possessed. Still, Vergil would not directly tell him this, as it would be sure to kill the kids confidence. So instead, he opts for a different route of training. Walking towards the boy, he places a hand on his shoulder in an attempt to calm him before delivering a dramatic speech. Looking the boy directly in the eyes boldly, he begins. "You know as ninja we all have things in which we excel in. Abilities we possess that are far greater then the average person. Accompanied by strengths, and weaknesses, there is never one category in which we are placed. We are all different." After he says this, he smiles softly, a glimpse of sadness can be seen within his eyes. Though this quickly disappears. "That being said, Senbaku. What is it that you think to be the best at?

Still standing in slight plain, his back arched over as his hand throbbed with pain, a hand was felt on his shoulder. Sabaku looked up from his hand towards Vergil, the rather larger fellow. Once Sabaku met his eyes, his face now taking on a more clueless form, tuned in to the motivating speech. Basically, everyone had their strengths and weaknesses, and that people are not all the same. Sabaku lowered his head once more, after seeing the sadness in Vergils own eyes, his clear white ghostly looking eyes, was he sad for Sabaku?
Why did Sabaku have to be different, he knew what he wanted to do, he wanted to be as strong as Koroshi, but why couldn't he do it? Sabaku felt depressed a bit. It was just like then when he was back at the academy, the teacher always making Sabaku stay after class cause he was always behind, lacking in ability. Well, not anymore, Sabaku now has something that he never had back in the academy, a role model, Koroshi Uchiha. A smirk now formed on Sabaku's face, he looked back up at Mr. Vergil's face the instant he looked down. Sabaku's eyes looked deep within Vergil's own misty eyes, his answer was clear. "What I'm good at..., IS NOT GIVING UP!! cause im a hero, CAPTAIN SUNAGAKURE." Sabaku yelling this inches away, before taking a few steps back, backwards. Once still, he struck his hero stance, both his hands placed on his hips, his chest sticking outwards a bit. Then, he started to jump up and down, his youthful energy back once more. He was ready to try once more, the wood would meet its doom, form Captain Sunagakure. "Mr. Vergil, lets go again! I got this!!", Sabaku's right hand, now balled up into a fist, slammed into his left hand, cracking his knuckles soon after. He was ready to break that stupid piece of wood, so that he could be one step closer to becoming, the strongest ninja in Suna, after Koroshi of course.
Sabaku now stood 5 feet away from the towering Mr. vergil, the flames of determination was well lit in his eyes. Sabaku, was ready for a second strike...

The chuunin smiles widely, chuckling a bit at the boy's enthusiasm. In a strange way it is admirable. "Alright, when you're ready...GO!" He steps back after saying this, moving towards the boy's right flank. placing himself a little over a meter away from him in the process. He waits for him to move, and hopefully punch the plank without hurting himself. He did not expect him to break it, just yet. These things usually come with progress so he would not be too disappointed. Standing back he continues to wait for Sabaku to move.
