Task: With all the tourism Tengakure gets due to its unique skyscrapers, the lobby of the Tenkage's office building normally has garbage left after the people are gone. Go pick up any garbage you find, and make sure the entry way looks good for the public.
Bar was wary after his mission at the Training Tower, so he decided to play it safe, and take on a mission where there would be plenty more ANBU around: Cleaning the lobby of the Tenkage building. Bar snagged the mission scroll from the Mission Board, and hiked to the target location. Security was tight: Only after presenting the mission scroll and his forehead protector, and asked to perform the Byakugan, whereupon he learned that there were LOTS of ANBU hiding and sunk into the walls and ground, was he granted access to the janitor's cleaning closet. At least two cameras watched his every move, while he worked.
In most respects, this was no different from cleaning the lobby of the grocery store, except one. Bar was about to start sweeping the floor when he was stopped by a slightly smirking jonin. "Aren't you going to clean the walls, ceiling, and lights first, or do we only pay you half?" Bar looked up, and saw spiderwebs, dirty pictures and banners, footprints, and yes, dirty lights. Bar looked down, and realized that if he HAD cleaned the floor first, he would have had to re-clean everything if the jonin hadn't said anything. Talk about dodging a shuriken. Bar bowed sincerely. "Thank you for your honesty, sir." The jounin's disappointment was entirely feigned as he nodded acknowledgement of the compliment. "New policy. We USED to have some amateur comedians keep their mouth shut, and spring a surprise on some poor genin or student, but SOME ninja take out their anger on the place, and mess up the place even worse. SOME ninja get so pissed off, they lose control of the chakra in their feet, fall down, and bust something. Sometimes it's a bone, sometimes it's a phone. Hey, that rhymed. So, yeah, if you had cleaned the floor first, and then the guy on-duty tells you about the top afterwards, we would have sent you home, and you would only been paid half. Oh, this is still the same: If you fall down, you will be paid half, minus anything you break, and sent back to the Academy for remedial lessons on chakra control. Actually, we did have one guy who didn't know ANY jutsu, and the Academy couldn't do anything for him, so we just let him clean the bottom, paid him half, and we never saw him take this mission again. Must've been a Rock Lee descendant."
Bar was content to let the jonin ramble on (Did he used to be an Academy teacher or a leader of a genin squad?) as he started from the farthest and tallest corner, and swept towards the front exit. Their former residents were evicted or executed. Footprints were scrubbed out. Pictures were dusted. Banners were beaten. Light fixtures were polished. This time, there didn't need any replacing of bulbs. Bar wondered if they would turn the lights off if one did need to be unscrewed, and doubted it. Too much of a security risk.
Bar hopped down. While the floor was even dirtier now, at least it was for a good cause. The carpeted areas were vacuumed. Bubble gum, scotch tape, and price stickers were scrapped off. Windows and glass were sprayed with a cleaning chemical, and wiped clean. Wooden surfaces were polished. Plants were watered. Trash was emptied. Tossing plenty of caution signs around, Bar proceeded to mop. The occasional apology was mumbled as he asked people to sweep under them, or dodge a vacuum cord, but all in all, nobody drunk or sober bothered him as he cleaned. It was after visiting hours, so Bar avoided the frustration of having to re-clean after someone. Anyone who did have official business with the Tenkage usually skipped the first floor anyways...
