Inevitable (Travel)

Altar stood on the borders of the place he had called home lately, and had never left. Or not yet, at least. This seemed an inevitability, and he figured he should get it done as swift and quickly as possible. The sooner it was done, the sooner it was over and he could return home. Possibly. He wasn't sure anymore. The bitter taste that had resided in his mouth had now disappeared, leaving only a faint resemblance. Perhaps he shouldn't do this after all. It was a silly idea, one fit for a fool. But what was he? The same as he thought this was fit for. He was a fool at heart, never truly succeeding. So, should he meet his end on this journey, he would accept it with open arms. Nothing would halt him, though, apart from his own damn nervous jitter and the thump of his heart among the quiet sounds of the borders of Tengakure. He stood, the wind blowing his coat around and blowing the hair from his face, his mismatched eyes finding faint brilliance in the midnight he stood in, the crimson of the Meigan and the dull white grey of the Byakugan.
Tenebris was above him, the dragon flying around to enjoy the crisp night air, the faint orange glow of his lava and magma still faintly visible, some times disappearing behind the clouds, remaining gone for some time before returning to sight again. The dragon would accompany him on this journey, though not for the purpose of fighting, though Altar had full belief in the dragon. No, the drake would be there, watching from the skies to ensure that Altar would remain safe on the journey and at his destination. If something were to happen, Altar had told Tenebris of Xyxer, the Tenkage, and had told him to return to Tenga as swift as possible and alert him. He doubted that Tenebris would do this, but it was worth a try.
Altar had also sent Xyxer a letter, informing him of his whereabouts, his make shift mission, and the fact that he may very well be in grave danger. He hoped it would not come to his own death, but it was a possibility that he had to realize and come to peace with. He hoped he would have the tools, and the allies, to fight off anyone who came to him, if anyone did.
With that thought in mind, Altar started walking away from Tengakure, on what may be his first and last time outside and inside his home.
