An Adventure (Solo) Empty An Adventure (Solo)

Tue Dec 09, 2014 8:54 pm
Miki jumped across the roofs of Takigakure, making sure that nothing suspicious entered this town, or if it had, that it wouldn't leave. The wind swept through his black hair, and his goggles were slightly fogged from the early morning mist that entered the town. He was one of the few ninja who had yet to abandon this place, and he had no idea where they all had gone. He hadn't seen Taiga, or any Jonin to speak of and it was all pretty concerning. He had thought about leaving, but couldn't quite bring himself too. After all, this was his town. It would take some sort of apocalyptic event to push him from it, and he doubted that would happen anytime soon. He'd just have to make due by himself, becoming the strongest her could be in the meantime. He then noticed something darting across the buildings of Takigakure, something that didn't belong here. He pursued, His blue jacket flapping silently in the breeze as he jumped from building to building, following the intruders. They wore Dark masks on their faces, with white glowing bits for eyes. It was rather unsettling, though he didn't show it. Their outfits were bluish robes, with each tied by a white sash, all holding wide sheathes with a thin pole sticking from them. What was it they were carrying? Either way, Miki couldn't let them continue without identifying themselves. Following closely, one of them suddenly.. vanished? He had seemed to fade in the air while the other figure turned suddenly, causing Miki to face him. "What is this? An actual ninja in this town? Hmph.. thought this place was deserted. Might as well make sure it stays that way."
With that, he unsheathed the pole weapon, revealing it to be a small scythe. Its blade began to glow a dim purple, a color Miki recognised.. as his own. The man swung, and Miki activated his own Jutsu, just in time. The Palm disk nightmare he invented being just enough to block and bat away the scythe. And as he thought, the mist on the scythe WAS Miasma style. Miki dodged another scythe slash, pivoting backwards. He analyzed the man, but he was too hidden beneath his clothing to be recognizable. Miki couldn't discern if his features were similar to his own or not. He slipped out a kunai and parried another strike, seeing the man was becoming increasingly frustrated. "Who are you? How do you have the same power as me?"
The man laughed in arrogance. "Oh wouldn't you like to know, maybe you'll find out once I take you in."
Miki couldn't believe this man. He hadn't even hit the boy. How could he be so confident he would hit him? Miki went on the offensive this time, his Kunai being barely repelled by the scythe. He made several quick slashes, hoping to chip away at his defense. The man was faltering, but not much. Miki smiled in a rare show of emotion. He had this, this would be simple as *THUNK*
That was the last thing he heard before falling to blackness.

The dark haired boy woke groggily, feeling the back of his head. The back of his head was poorly bandaged, and he could feel the dried blood in his hair. What had happened to him? Had the other man come back to finish what he had started? Either way. he had been "collected". He was in some kind of cabin. The bark wasn't natural, or he would be able to destroy it with his miasma, which he found out as he attempted just that. He slowly explored the room, but found nothing that could be labeled as a way out. He sat back down and made another discovery. His vision had been really bad, which he had attributed to the poor lighting coming in through small cracks of the walls. In fact, he was missing his goggles. This was no good, he couldn't fight without them, as he had no vision to speak of. Suddenly, above him, the ceiling opened up. One of the men in robes was there, though his eye pieces glowed gold rather then white. "You will begin work tomorrow, warrior of the waterfall. For now, rest. It would be poor sport to break a weak boy."
Before Miki had a chance to respond, the opening closed, as did all the cracks in the walls, putting him in the deep darkness of solitude. The kind of darkness that could drive a person mad. Miki would just have to endure it for now. Closing his eyes, he fell asleep awfully fast.. or sleep was what he thought he fell into. As the darkness had fell, a blood red circle had surrounded him, and began dimly glowing as his eyes had shut.

Miki woke again, but not to the room he was in previously, but some kind of temple. A rather dark one at that. A demonic monster perched on a shrine in the front of the room, its stone body surrounded by candles glowing a blood red. This was not a place he felt very comfortable in, yet at the same time it felt familiar. Surrounding him were pews, all angled to face the statue, except one in the back. Miki went to investigate, and found that it seemed to be from its position because it had fallen out of the small holes that the legs of the pews it fit in were supposed to sit. Miki felt a compulsion to fix that, and slid them into place with a "click". The room instantly brightened up, the walls covered in red, dripping like blood. A figure pushed out of the walls, crimson at first, then glowing a golden color, before assuming the shape of Miki. "Is this what you want? To lose your light for power?"
The boy didn't understand, and didn't have a chance as the other him attacked, a kunai appearing suddenly in his hand. Miki deflected it with one of his own, and sparks created shadows that conflicted with the walls. The other him stabbed and cut, having all of Miki's fighting ability, but seemed more emotional. Angry tears flowed down his face, and his moves were filled with passion. Miki had no idea what was happening, but had no choice but to fight back, becoming more aggressive. Their blades sparked, and Miki's vision became clearer and clearer, as if his sight was correcting itself. He pushed back the phantom, reaching the wall of the temple by the statue. His clone quickly grabbed a candle and threw it at Miki, but the boy deflected it back at him, hot wax exploding in his eyes. Miki jammed his kunai into its heart, but instead of blood, a bright blue haze of miasma leaked out, burning a symbol into his hand. Miki pulled back, the pain hurting horribly. The phantom began laughing as his body turned to miasma, filling up the room, echoing off the walls, seemingly filling the boys mind. He covered his ears as the pain became sharp, and his eyes burned.

Miki had no idea when he woke up. The pain that had filled his dreams was gone, and his eyes were no longer allowing him perfect vision. He sighed and stood, stretching out his body. He felt lighter, as if.. something more was missing. Was it guilt that he had been captured so easily? No... he didn't feel guilty... or much of any emotions. All he felt was a need to return to Taki, which was something he already planned on. That dream.. it had been so real, but it couldn't be. That would be ridiculous. The wall opened up behind him and he was grabbed and thrown onto the ground. He immidiatly jumped up, reaching for a kunai, only to find them missing. Obviously they would be, why would he have checked? Why did he feel so angry.. angry at these men.. angry at everyone. He shut the thoughts out, and directed his attention to the blurry figures of the men, who had been talking apparently. "Your right, the fields would be for the best, brighter, so we don't have to give him back his eyes. Good news kid, your disability got you out of a lot of work! Now you get to work for the women in the fields like the rest of the girls. Follow me welp."
Again, Miki felt that way too natural anger, but managed to hold it in. He had no idea what was going on, only that he had to work to keep himself alive for now.Following the man, this entire place seemed lit by glowing fireballs in the air that acyed like natural light, meaning they were in some sort of cave system. Perhaps it was below Taki? There was no real way of knowing for sure until he escaped. The light was bright, but it did little to help Miki's ailing vision that seemed to almost be slightly worse. Those goggles had been so natural for him to wear that it felt weird not having them, in more ways then being unable to see. Shaking his head, he was directed to the fields, where he was greeted by a women with long brown hair. She wore a pale yellow dress that seemed to have been worn and re washed many times. Perhaps it was the only thing she was allowed to wear? The man leading him sneered at him, and pointed to the woman. "This old broad will teach you how to work the fields. You work, you get to stay in the nice fields and theres no need to move ya into the mines, blindy. Also, if you try to escape, we will personally kill everyone here, so I wouldn't try it."
With that, the man left. As if Miki would care if all these women were killed. They had nothing to do with the safety of Takigakure. He didn't even question these thoughts, like a curse had fallen over the boy. He looked up at the older woman, waiting for her commands. She smiled at him kindly. "Well, the fields have fruits in some areas, and grain to be harvested. I've been asked to not allow you near any pointy objects, so collecting fruit would be the best thing for you. Get a basket, and head that way to the northwest fields. Its not a long walk, and you should be able to get there rather quickly."
She smiled kindly and pointed him in the right direction. Miki simply nodded, and walked to the area specified, his boots crunching on the grass.

He still felt angry, angry and hateful at everyone. That old lady, the workers he passed by, the men guarding the area. He didn't even worry about it anymore. He was quickly losing his original frame of mind dangerously quick and he didn't even realize it. It would be scary for any to witness his descent. He only wished to protect Takigakure from all who would oppose the towns strength. He would crush all opposition. Any who stood in his way would die, skin melting from their bones as slowly and painfully as possible. No one would live to tell the tale of the one who had destroyed them. So caught up in his thoughts, he failed to notice a young, white haired teen and bumped into her, accidentally grabbing a medallion that fell from her. She quickly got up, bowing and blushing, and ran off yellingn her apologies. His mind seemed to clear as he held up the medallion he had accidentally grabbed. His head cleared, his anger dissipated and he felt... normal. He couldn't even remember  the strange thoughts he had been having.Wrapping the amulet around his hand, he tucked it into his glove, not wishing to part with the object. He continued to the fields to do his task, and come up with a plan to escape.

The day had been hard, and now he was back in his cabin, or whatever it was. He had to get out of here, but nothing he did seemed to work, and all he could do was sit in the blackness and think. If he was to escape, he had to bring the entire harvesting crew with him, which meant he had to take down all the guards. Moreover, he had to find weapons to accomplish this task. The only jutsu he had that could do damage was his Disk, and he doubted it would affect them, as they seemed to have the same ability he did. He preformed the hand signs, causing the disk to float, the dim light making it cast and odd shadow. The purple haze was a beautiful thing, even with how deadly it was. He had no idea where this power came from, or what to do with it. He felt like he had some purpose in this world, he just had no idea what it was. Sighing, he stared up at the black walls and wished he could call his friend Kuro. The water style boy could slip into the cracks and could possibly break the walls. If he could only do the same to his body, he could turn to mist and move through the cracks. He wasn't prepared for this sort of situation, he barely had any training, and had been rendered close to blind without his goggles. It was all sorts of ridiculous. He had no backup, no allies, and very little ability. Sighing, he wished life would be a bit easier. But there was nothing he could do about it he supposed. He wished he was back in the village, inside his warm house. Being out here, with no one around.. was too quiet. He was used to Kuro's company by now, and he wasn't used to being all by himself. It was weird, before he had been so used to being alone, and now he was used to someone being around him. For the first time he felt... lonely. It was a really odd feeling, and he wished he was back home. He laid back, his arms crossing behind his head serving as a pillow. Looking up at the ceiling, he wondered how he would get away. He believed in himself, and he knew he couldn't rely on a rescue. In fact, he would likely be labeled a missing-nin before anyone came looking for him, and that wasn't something he wanted to wait for. The stale smell of the air permuted the room, making him feel cramped in an otherwise wide space. The darkness was all consuming, filling everything. He wished he could be home. He slowly began falling into unconsciousness, his eyes shutting, his breathing slowed. He didn't know how long he would be here, but he would make it short as possible. He would escape, and return to the village that he called home.

He woke, and he was again in that room, the temple. The pews were missing, and Miasma seemed to be floating in the air. His double, who he had swore was dead, now sat across from him with blood red eyes, looking rather angry. "Holding on to your light? Thats a dangerous thing to do. The Dark God may not appreciate such a person in his legion."
Miki stood, a bit shakily. "Your different from the one before. It doesn't matter though. I'm not a part of any legion, and you won't control me."
His tone was emotionless, as if this was a matter of fact rather then a statement. The other Miki smiled, almost cruelly, and vanished, leaving only a small parting word. "So be it."

He woke up to yelling, screaming, and the smell of smoke. The room he was in had been breached somehow, and smoke filled the room. He left through the breach, coughing but keeping his cool. The area he had been brought to, everything, was burning. The workers seemed to be escaping though, where as the people who brought him here, anyone who wore that outfit, was being massacred by some uknown group, at least uknown to Miki. He couldn't stick around, with his abilities they may make him a target. He needed to make his way back to Taki, and warn them of this group if any survived. He raced, letting his senses guide him back to his home. He seemed to be able to feel its location, even with his poor sight. He stopped once though as he neared some sort of shack. He broke the door down, and inside he found all sorts of stuff. All of it must have been stolen from the workers, including tons of valuables. Miki didn't have the time to grab much of it, and simply took what had belonged to him. Sliding on his goggles, he made his escape back to his home.
