ten years ago...(Odin Onimusha)

How it all began...

Odin Onimusha was full of pride this particular day.  He was finally allowed out of the village with his father.  
"Stay close to me Odin.  You wouldn't want to wander and meet any stray monsters in the forest," his father warned him, slightly smiling in jest.  

"Dad! Don't jinx us!  You know the Oni are listening!"  Odin whined back in protest.  

The father and son were on a simple recovery mission.  There was a relic that had gone mission from their temple and they needed intel in order to try and recover it's whereabouts.  The most logical solution was to go to the village next door.  Since they lived on the the border or the Rain Country and the Fire Country, the Odin's father decided to see if It has crossed the border.  

"Remember Odin, always keep your guard up," this warning was more serious than the last.  
"You still have the special gauntlet your old man gave you?"  he asked with a smile on his face.  

Odin's eyes lit up with excitement.  He nodded, smiling with the biggest grin on his face.  One tooth was missing in the middle of his teeth.  Odin held up his right arm, pulled down his sleeve, and revealed a bronze arm and wrist guard.  His father crafted a make shift replica of the renowned Oni Gauntlet that has been blessed to their chosen warriors.  
His father deemed him a man for volunteering to come with him.  
"I have it right here Daddy!" Odin eagerly told his father.  

"Remember Odin, outside the village, we have to call each other by our first names.  Call me either Moses, Elder, or Onimusha-sama," Moses told his son.  

After a few miles of walking down the main path to the Fire Country's borders, the two stopped to make camp.  The night was fast approaching and bandits always love to pray on travelers.

Jason had never been allowed out of the village before. He was accompanying his father on a simple hunting trip so of course Jason brought his bow. He may have only been seven years old but he had been practicing his archery since he was five years old. "How much farther dad?" Jason excitedly asked his father.

"We should reach the border of Rain country by the end of day tomorrow. Remember Jason, you have to keep your eyes peeled and your senses sharp along the border. For now let's find a good spot to make camp for the night. I'm sure that bottomless pit you call a stomach could use some food." said Jason's father, Ikki Senju.

Jason was looking forward to putting his archery skills to the test tomorrow. It was hard having to go so far from his home but the animals they were hunting only lived along the border between the Rain and Fire countries. Jason didn't let it bother him too much though. He was just glad to be out of the village with his father. They found a nice clearing and Ikki and Jason set up some traps around their camp in case of wild animals or nearby enemies. After that was finished they ate and called it a night.

Odin Onimusha woke up from a frightful vision of blood and fire.  Sweat dripped down his face as he quickly sat up.  Sweat dropped down his black headband as he rose from his makeshift bedding. 
He walked a few yards away from his dad, toward a stream down a slight hill. 
His balance was a little uneven but he needed to distract himself.  He unzipped his pants to relief himself, pissing into the stream.

Unbeknownst to him, two passing missing nins were hidden across the stream, watching this little kid's every moments.
One looks at the other, "Hey Weiss, should we nab the Onimusha kid?  The boss might need him to negotiate a deal later,"
Weiss, a man with dark blue hair dressed in all brown shinobi gear. 
What he lacked for in weapons his shinobi black haired friend had in spades.
"I think we should just kill the boy Biggs. One well placed kunai to that kid's forehead can demolish him right there.  We might need a hostage if we are going to cross into Rain Country into Fire.  Let's do it,"

Biggs unsheathed his slick black katana off his back and jumped from one branch to the other without ever making a sound. 

Weiss did a double back flip off the tree they both were sitting on and landed behind the boy, using a sealing jutsu to seal the boy's mouth from alerting his father. 

Weiss restrained the boy, holding him by his head and one leg and fleed in the direction of the Senju clan members. 

Biggs stayed in the treetops, ready to jump in on any unwelcomed presence. 

(Both are chuunin ninja.  Biggs is a weaponry spec and Weiss is a sealing and ninjutsu spec)

Jason had been lying down trying to sleep for what seemed like hours now. He was too excited to sleep knowing tomorrow he would be able to help his father with the hunting trip. Even though he was only seven and not truly a shinobi yet, he was still skilled with his bow.

SNAP!

"What was that? It sounded like one of the traps we sent went off..." Jason opened the flap of his tent and made his way to the source of the noise as quietly as he could. He had practiced moving silently with his father in preparation for the academy. He stopped in front of some bushes when he heard unfamiliar voices.

"....should be more careful Biggs. You can't use brute force on everything you know. And what if there was a secondary trigger to the trap, huh? I'm surprised you didn't give away our position as it is." said the first man to what appeared to be his partner. "Well maybe if you weren't busy lugging around that brat you could've disarmed the traps yourself since you don't like the way I do it. Who made you the boss anyway Weiss?"

Jason hadn't noticed it at first but it seemed the man called Weiss had a small boy, around his age, unconscious over his shoulder. "I have to get back to dad and let him know about this. We have to help save that kid." Jason whispered to himself and made his way back to his father's tent as quickly as he could...

Meanwhile...back with Odin's father, Moses Onimusha. 

A voice jolted him from his slumber.  It was a deep deep voice warned him,
"Your son will die before the night is over.  You meditated too long inside the 'other' realm and let him slip through your grasp.  He will die.  He WILL die!"

Moses wipes the sweat off of his brow, ignoring the voice of doubt and deception in his head.  It was a small price to pay that comes with the Onimusha clan.  He hadn't let such a voice penetrate his thoughts in years.  Despite the taunting voice, he knew it wanted to spark a fire within him to get him going. 
My son is in trouble! 

He picked up his monk staff, channeling his chakra to trace his son's little chakra footsteps.  They lead to a stream of water.  What disturbed him next was the second set of foot steps which appeared next to where his son's ended. 

Moses sprinted toward the direction the kidnapper's foot step went.  He picked up speed with a fire burning in his eyes!

Weiss carefully stepped over two more floor traps, warning Biggs so he wouldn't make another stupid mistake. 
"Hurry up slow poke!  We need to bring this kid back to the base ASAP.  He is an important key to using the relic."

Biggs chuckled, "This kid!?  Yeah right.  Any attempt to activate the relic will kill the kid...unless that is the plan Weiss!"

"DAD!! There are a couple of shinobi near the edge of our campsite and it looks like they have a child held hostage. They have to be missing-nin. We have to go help him." Jason hurriedly told his father. He was really worried about that kid the missing-nin had captive.

"What? So there are missing-nin around the edge of the camp, huh. Ok, lets go. Ikki said as he grabbed his gear and followed his son out of the tent. "Alright listen up Jason. I want you to climb up to the top of the trees with your bow and give me some cover. I'll take out the ninjas and when you see an opening I want you to get the kid out of there. Got that?" Ikki said to Jason. Jason nodded to show he understood and then made his way to the top of the nearest tree so he could follow his father from above.

Moses jumped a few meters with every footstep he took.  His mind raced with different scenarios, playing out each one in his mind. 
Worst case, my child dies and they get away with the relic. 
Best case, I take them out and retrieve Odin and find the whereabouts of the relic. 

He didn't want to think the worse but had to prepare himself just in case.  Moses began to stretch out his chakra, looking for his son.  His son and he shared a bond between them.  It would be more than easy to focus on Odin's chakra. 

After a brief moment, Moses changed directions. 
So they took to the river... He thought as he channeled chakra to his feet.  He skipped onto the water and his feet, running at a full sprint this time.

He noticed the two kidnappers in the distace.  His chakra sensory let him know three things:
His son is alive
The big one has an earth element and the other has two, fire and wind. 
There are two unknown people in front of them.                             

Moses masked his chakra, not letting himself be caught.

The kidnappers weren't prepared for his strike.  He focused his Chidori.  The sound made a  churping sound as it was being to be prepared.

Jason and his father rushed towards the bandits' location, him in the top of the trees and Ikki on the ground running with one of his wood clones. Jason had his bow out with an arrow knocked, ready to attack. It looked like they arrived just as the bandits finished disarming all the traps. Ikki slid to a stop in front of the two, ready for a fight. Jason came to a halt on a branch above just six meters away from them, aiming an arrow at the man holding the child, ready to shoot on his father's signal.

"I'm only going to say this once. Let go of the child and leave and you won't get hurt." Ikki said to the two.

"Who the hell are you and why would we do something like that? You don't scare us. Maybe you should leave before we hurt you. Hehe." said the bigger one, shaking a large axe in Ikki's direction."You idiot. Can't you see he's a Senju shinobi of the hidden leaf? He isn't going to be an easy one to defeat. Be on your guard. I sense someone else close by. I don't think he's here alone.

Ikki risked a glance in Jason's direction, making sure his son was ok. It didn't look like it was him that guy had spotted. Ikki wondered who it was if not Jason. Just then, he spotted an unknown shinobi running towards them with a lightning attack in his hand. "Now Jason!"

Right on cue, Jason shot his arrow at the man holding the captured kid, aiming to rescue him.

Odin felt himself be shuck around for a bit.  He opened his eyes, feeling himself being dangled.  His vision was blurry but when he looked up, he stared at an unfamiliar face.  He wiggled for a moment, struggling to break free.  Just as he got a little lose Weiss slammed his fist on the kid's head. 

"Keep still you little shit!"  he ordered. 

Too bad Odin was a terrible listener. He opened his mouth and bit the hand that was holding him.  He dug his teeth deep into the captor's skin, breaking skin.  He could feel the warm rush of blood swirl around his teeth.  He heard the man holler in pain as he bit down again, harder than the last time. 


His father saw these events unfold in front of him as he charged into battle.  He saw his son in the arms of the scrawny looking man, but soon he would have no hold over the boy.  His attention shifted at the larger fellow. 

Biggs was unaware of charging and vengeful father closing in on him. In almost a flash, when Biggs lifted his axe and turned around to see what was happening, Moses was upon him.  The chidori was already extended out, piercing threw the large and bulky axe.  Moses made sure the chidori hit Biggs in his armored chest plate.  In succession of the chidori hit, Moses used a Taijutsu palm thrust to knock Biggs off his feet at Ikku. 

Odin jumped out of Weiss's arms after hearing the man scream again, not sure what happened.  He crawled away from the man, towards the tree right in front of him.  He had NO idea what was going on.  He just knew he had to get to safety as soon as possible!
