Re: The Hyena meets The Fox o.o

(right now I am still deciding which specific jutsu I want to use, so for now I would like to hold off on learning the fire jutsu and just obtain the element, also, I am not sure if anyone is capable of transplanting right now in konoha o.o. what would be really funny would be if later we all traded ni a circle, receiving from one person and giving to the other lol, we might be better equipped to swap stuff around when we reach )
Draconis listened to the other two speak. Kaito sounded like he would be willing to teach stuff about the fire element, sounded like his family was around too, as well. A shadow briefly flickered across The Hyena’s face, as he remembered his own lost ones, before shoving the emotions down deep past his stomach, somewhere beyond his toes, he thought. If one was not watching him intently or did not know him very well they were highly unlikely to notice but you never know. It would be easy to put two and two together though considering the timing of said shadow across his face, metaphorically speaking of course, and what he had said or implied of his past life. He then replied to Kaito “Sounds good. Were you always able to use the Fire element? Or were there things you did to train the element to a usable state? Right now I am not sure I will be able to learn any techniques for actually using the Fire element, but being able to use the element right now, I think I only need to acquire it right now.”
Tatsuya meanwhile was quite understandably cautious about trading away his own clan’s abilities. What was more interesting was that he seemed to really, really like nature. That would prove interesting and something to keep in mind in future dealings with this strange and quirky, though mellow fellow. The Hyena understood what he meant about wanting to be closer to nature, those who had lived in nature for a long time grew to understand many of nature’s idiosyncrasies and might come to enjoy it. If he had not had the annoying habit of attracting wild monsters every time he tried to sleep, Draconis may well have become a nature lover. It was so peaceful out there… unless something was trying to fasten its jaws around you. He understood where Tatsuya was coming from though. “I understand entirely everything you say. My eyes have not unlocked their full potential I can feel it. There are so many opportunities now that my vision has been enhanced. I think it is probably safe to say you would prefer to not take rain checks, but I intend to study the art of Sealing later, and if possible, that of Space and Time, so perhaps I might be able to help you out in some other way later. If I come up with any techniques that I think you will be able to use, I will let you know. Likewise for you Kaito, I do not know if you have any idea whether your body has a predisposition towards the Wind element but I can help you learn it if you would like.”
Draconis paused, not used to speaking so much. He drew in a lot of air, refilling his mostly empty lungs, and then said “Speaking of Nature, Tatsuya, I understand where you are coming from there. I used to live in nature a lot… more than I would have liked actually, and when it is truly peaceful, the natural beauty of everything comes out to the naked eye for all to enjoy. Is that what you enjoy about nature? Or is it something else?” It belatedly occurred to him that Kaito, wise as he truly was, might not be interested in talking hippie stuff about nature and whatnot, but hopefully the bits about learning and trading stuff would be useful and he would remain interested.
He hoped it was obvious that he was not disappointed that Tatsuya was not interested in a swap yet, it had been a bit of a gamble already and while currently besides the Byakugan he had little else he could offer anyone, that would hopefully change if the things he were learning stacked up to be all that he thought they would be.
If either boy said anything, Draconis would listen intently, as he stooped to pick up a leaf from the ground. He would then try to run his fire chakra through the leaf, attempting to fill it up with chakra that he would use to try and singe the leaf. If Kaito happened to have any better ideas Draconis would willingly listen.

(Alright! No problem! I'm going for Lightning as my second. Either Wind or Earth might be my third. We should probably hold off on exchanging Kekkei Genkai. Let's wait until we form our squad first. Lol)
As expected, Tatsuya had declined. Apparently, he valued his body so much that he wanted to avoid integrating other Kekkei Genkai in. This was completely understandable, in fact, Kaito would feel the same way if he ever had something precious like the Nara shadow manipulation skill or Hyuuga clan's Byakugan. The boy continued to listen to the Nara, actively listening. Perhaps he'd learn something from this. "......." Tatsuya then brought up how he loved nature, and how he was pursuing Senju cells because of that. What did having Senju cells do with nature? And what about this Sharingan? Kaito could no longer hold back the curiosity. "If you don't mind me asking, what are Senju cells? Oh, and what about this Sharingan?"
The question was directed towards Tatsuya. In the meantime he'd respond to Hyena, who asked about the Katon element. "Hmmm, that's a good question. I've always been able to use the Katon element. It came natural to me, as if it were a part of me. I don't really know how to explain it." The child had grown serious once again, slightly opening his eyes. There was really no way to explain it. Much like his sister, the Katon element was seemingly programmed into the boy since birth. All he did was learn how to use several techniques and to better himself in using it. He began wondering if Hyena had an explanation as to why he was able to use Katon from the start without learning it like other children and their first elements. "Hey Hyena, do you know why that is the case?" Hopefully he'd be able to answer the question. Maybe even Tatsuya. They both seemed very knowledgeable when it came to things like this.
The boy would ponder to subject, giving Hyena time to speak to Tatsuya. When Hyean spoke back to Kaito he would reply, "A predisposition to Wind element you say? I'm not sure. Sometimes I feel electrifyingly energetic, so maybe I might have another element. I could however see myself learning Wind in the future! Hehe." Kaito's ecstatic and jubilant behavior returned. "Thank you for your offer to help though Hyena!" He smiled, digging into his satchel to withdraw his water bottle. All of this talking was getting him thirsty. In fact, this was the first time he was ever comfortable with talking to others. For the first time he was actually engaged in a nice conversation. What was the next topic? Nature. "Nature.." Kaito's widened smile became more gentle as he had flashbacks of his time with his father. How they'd go out on explorations in the forests that border Konohagakure. To be honest, he'd always find peace during those outings. Nature was another thing he had left to remember his father.

Tatsuay enjoys the respectfulness and and maturity that the two boys express it was nice to have a conversation with two people that were not full of them self's. Tatsuya listens to the words exchanged before the conversation is directed at him.
"Well the Jenju clan is know for a combination of the earth and water release that results in wood release. In turn they are able to create trees as well as giant wooded golems. Now as for the Sharingan its a power that belongs to the Uchiha clan. It is a very powerful visual jutsu that helps with reaction time and the execution of gen jutsus to phenomenal levels. Unfortunately it comes at a cost. Once possibility being loosing all ability to see as well the Uchihas are know for having very dark and twisted souls."
Tatsuya did not mean to dis the Uchiha clan but looking at history of the Uchihas as well Tatsuya's own person excrescences made a pretty concrete augment. But it was true that Tatsuya was generalizing the Uchihas but it was hard not to. Now thinking about it was odd that Tatsuay showed an interest in both Senju and Uchiha seeings how they were on both other ends of the spectrum.
The next statement made by Kaito was in some ways interesting. for most people it took a wile to figure out what element they could control and it was a rare event for it to come easy to someone. There was only one clan that was know for having the fire element laced into their DNA and that was the Uchihas. Tatusya would not mention anything about it for now and begins to think of a way he could provoke Kaito's possible Uchiha blood.

The Hyena was relaxing at an abnormal rate, normally he had his guard up but it seemed that, mostly thanks to Kaito, his guard had dropped, and if he was not careful he would be just like any other person on the street. He listened quietly to the others as they spoke. Kaito asked Tatsuya about Senju cells, and then said that the fire element came naturally to him. Interesting. He asked the Hyena if he knew why Kaito was so easily able to use the fire element. To this unfortunately, the Hyena, Draconis, had no satisfactory answer. “I do not know why, I am afraid. My only guess is that perhaps one of the clans you might be descended from, has a lot of ability or natural proficiency related to fire related techniques. There are a number I have heard of; perhaps checking your family genealogy would prove useful. What do you do to activate your fire jutsu? Are there any mental techniques you use? My guess is that fire techniques will probably come to you like basic element manipulation to most people.” Little did the Hyena know that Tatsuya had thinking on similar lines, though Tatsuya’s were much more informed and informed. It also seemed that Kaito did not have a predisposition towards the wind element yet, so unfortunately there would be little Draconis could do in return for the moment. He would have to pay the kid back for his help in acquiring the fire element at some other point, as while Kaito would prove helpful to acquiring the fire element, it was not of equivalent magnitude to gaining another type of bloodline or clan ability altogether. Kaito seemed to think he might have the electric lightning element though, unfortunately that would not be much help at the moment. The Hyena also took note of Tatsuya’s words. He had not heard much of the Uchiha clan, and was interested to learn that the clan reputed to have powers far surpassing his own former clan’s, specialized in genjutsu of all things. Interesting. He did not know either about the Senju clan specializing in earth and water jutsu, that did mean though that he would not be using any of that DNA himself, unfortunately, as he obviously was learning the fire element now. Maybe he would just get to be really good friends with these Senju folks, once reputed to be the only clan capable of standing against the legendary Uchiha. It seemed the Uchiha grew twisted personalities, perhaps ones that craved power like the mindset of the Hyena. He might be able to learn or gain a thing or two from the Uchiha, and their methods. He just could not be consumed in his inner darkness if he were to take his clan and make it reborn, otherwise they would all be mired down in the past. The Uchiha apparently quite literally lost their ability to see themselves for what they had become, Draconis had to make sure that NEVER happened to him. Draconis would go look up the fire element clans later, just because he himself was curious, the Uchiha were obvious but Kaito did not share their dark nature, though he was abnormally wise. Some other clans with heavy ties to the Fire element that Draconis was able to think of off the top of his head were the Scorch element users, the Sarutobi clan, though that one was fairly unknown nowadays, the Terumi clan with their TWO advanced elements, there were even reputed to be a clan of judges who used Fire as the basis of their jutsu but Draconis had little information on them. There were a lot of clans that used fire and he was curious what clan Kaito might be descended from.
The Hyena resumed trying to light the leaf on fire, with varying results. Most of the time he managed to singe it a little, but perhaps there was some kind of trick that could be used to learn the fire element, or use it more effectively. He hoped Kaito would say something about how he did his basic fire jutsu so that he could learn something else soon as well. After a while, he stopped trying to light the leaf, and held out his hand, palm up. He would run his fire element chakra through his hand while listening to anything the other two said, while small spurts of flame would erupt at his fingertips. “Anything you do in particular to control your flames, Kaito?” Draconis, the Hyena, asked.

So the Senju were able to conbine two elements to make one advanced element? How intriguing. Earth. Water. Wood. Come to think of it, he should have known that from the get-go. Shodaime Hokage was Hashirama Senju, a user of the Wood element. With it he was able to work wonders, as verified by Tatsuya. They were indeed the epitome of nature itself in the shinobi world. Then there were the Uchiha, who were blessed with occular prowess, much like the Hyuuga. They, however, did not act like the Hyuuga. They were twisted souls? Yea, that made sense. What really made Kaito wonder was the fact that his sister shared many characteristics with the Uchiha. Before she left, she acted a bit weird. Very dark. "Reminds me of my sis...."
Before he could finish, Hyena spoke. Hyena told him everything he knew about natural born Fire users. Wasn't much but the Uchiha were part of the options. Kaito was starting to think that he was part of the Uchiha at this point. The pieces were coming together. "Well, now that I think of it. When I use the Katon element, it's like everyone else. How everyone else would use their elements. Except, it comes to me naturally." The boy smiled, now believing that he could possibly be part of the Uchiha clan. "It's kind of weird." What if he was part of the Uchiha clan? Would that mean he had a dark soul? That he'd end up becoming twisted? No, he didn't want to be. That wasn't the person he was. Kaito shook off the thought and watched Hyena use his chakra to burn the leaf and ignite it. He even asked Kaito for some advice.
The boy snapped back to reality and grabbed the leaf, "Hyena, you mustn't practice on this leaf. This one is still green and fresh. Yes, it will eventually die but let it run its course." Kaito set the leaf onto the ground, looking up at Hyena, who was holding out his hand. "Well, it came naturally. But everytime I wanted to control my fire, I thought of something that would light the intensity. How a river rages through the mountain, I thought of a river fire raging through my veins. Practice with this." He walked over to a tree and searched around, collecting some dead leaves that were laying about. He then brought them over to Hyena. "Light these and watch it catch fire. Watch the fire and become motivated Hyena. You will want to work and power your own flame. The same way the dead matter feeds the fire, your chakra will create the fire and feed it. Hehe."
Holding out his hand, he managed to create a small flame at his palm. "Like that." He then thought of something else. A technique that was feared throughout the shinobi world. It however did not require the Fire element. This technique relied on Lightning itself. He extinguished the flame and began channeling chakra in the form of electricity. Small crackles formed but it wasn't enough. "....."

Tatsuya looks into Kaito eyes and decides that he does not have enough information to determine whether or not he is an Uchiha. In general Tatsuya did not really care what clan some one belonged to if not for all the negative experiences with Uchihas. Tatusya thinks back to the time he first met Kenshin. From the moment he layed eyes on him Tatsuya could see the dark dwelling roodness that was his personality. However from what Tatsuya saw Kaito was a very nice young man and being an Uchiha did not determine if you were a good or bad person. As well Tatsuay did not feel like this would be the best time to test a mans power as the two ninja had engaged in some more private training. Oh well Tatsuya was sure to see the two again.
Beginning to walk away Tatsuya would say.
"Well it was nice to meet you two and I have to say im excited to see what powers you gain also as one piece of advice.
There has been a growing power out in the world and its possible that they will come here so get strong and stay alert."
Tatsuay would not allow to give any more details of the powers that brewed for a couple of reasons. But no matter Tatsuya gave said all he needed to and exits.

[Fun rping with you two!]

(Do you wanna swap sob stories to try for the 1st Tomoe? XD also, if you want to learn Chidori you might want to check whether you will be able to learn it, I think it needed lightning as a first element)
Kaito was about to say something about his sister but then suddenly stopped, there were very few words that started with the letters “S” then “I” and finally “S” that the Hyena could think of, considering the topic Kaito was likely about to say something about his sister, but he stopped, and Hyena was not in a position to bother trying to find out. Oops, he had interrupted him unintentionally, hopefully he was not too annoyed, the Hyena had been deep in his own thoughts when he had been speaking.
It seemed that to Kaito, manipulating the fire was easy as pie. Hmmm… Draconis had found his own wind element The Uchiha were the most well known clan to use Fire a lot, and there were a number of Uchiha running around the village, so there was the highest chance that Kaito was one of the Uchiha and a potential fellow dojutsu user. However, while wise ahead of his years, he did not appear to have the same inner darkness that consumed many of the Uchiha, so if he perchance WAS an Uchiha, then he would potentially be one of the few good hearted Uchiha, a nice and welcome surprise to the village and especially Draconis, himself being the poroduct of his own Hyuga Clan’s darkness and evil. He would have to eradicate the useless wastes of space that shunned him at every opportunity if he ever got the chance. While he was practicing, Kaito began to show signs that indicated that he was if anything closer to the Senju in terms of loving nature and such, judging from what he began saying concerning the Fire element. The Uchiha were to said to have an even stronger bond between one another, characterized by the appearance of the Mangeyko when a particularly strong bond was irreparably shattered. However, while the Senju overall tended to take on a more gentle form of Love, with a few exceptions, the Uchiha tended to have a fierce, tough tiger form of love that tended to break many bodies upon the rocks of despair. The Uchiha’s tougher and firmer looking stance was probably the reason they were so disliked before.
The Hyena realized he had briefly stopped paying attention and resumed listening to Kaito speak. Hopefully the other boy did not notice. Fortunately, Kaito’s mouth had barely started movig so he at most had only missed a few words. He stood and listened silently, Hyena and Fox, and it seemed that Kaito wished for the Hyena not to kill the green leaf he had and to instead use a dry old dead withered looking did I mention dry looking and feeling and possibly tasting leaf. Kaito resumed talking after giving the Hyena another leaf to work with, and then demonstrated himself. Hmmm. Kaito attempting to create small crackles that took a different form than that of a spark for igniting a flame, this all did not go unnoticed by Draconis. “Maybe that would be easier done with your hand on metal or just above the water instead…?" The Hyena said.
The Hyena thought over what his younger compatriot had said. What he had said was similar to what Draconis had done to learn the wind element actually, where one relaxed, let their body and chakra flow like the wind, and then attempted to grind different bits of their chakra together to form the gusts of wind or the blades, depending, from their chakra. So perhaps, part of one’s elemental affinity had to do with their mentality, and how they were able to think of things. Kaito seemed to be a pretty mellow guy but it seemed to use his Fire element effectively for jutsu, he tried to ignite his passion, his inner energy giving form to flames when it burst out of him in one form or another. He tried to ignite the flames of passion within himself, similar to what the fabled Might Guy once used to do when he trained his taijutsu. He thought about all the stupid stuff he went through from his former clan mates, which he no longer viewed entirely to be kin, they did not deserve that kind of place in his life. FURY all in capitals, erupted from his every pore, fury and hatred of those who unfortunately for them shared the same bloodline as him, his desire to destroy and kill and murder becoming slowly apparent not so much visibly as in his aura, his stance, waves of killing intent no longer suppressed. His hand vanished in a mass of searing flames, and, distracted, he managed to suppress his anger, only now realizing that Kaito might have noticed his barely concealed temper. Hopefully he had not noticed, The Hyena did not want to scare off his pack mate already. “Well, that seemed to have worked, I don’t know that there will be much left of the leaf… I think I can safely say I am able to use the fire element now. Thank you for the help, Kaito, my pack mate, it was the description of what it felt like to activate and use the Fire element that helped the most for me, I believe.”
As he spoke a few charred and heavily decimated ashes fell between his fingers, and dropped to the leaf covered ground from whence they had once came, blending in with the cold hard ground to become close to indistinguishable among the rest of the small debris lying there, fitting perfectly into the greater image that was the ground. He was mostly surprised at the amount of chakra he had poured out. He had not ever done something similar with his wind element that he could think of, perhaps he had a greater affinity to the Fire element than he thought, if his previously thought out and described in no great nor small amount of detail, was accurate. Fury came naturally to him, partially because of his past, and perhaps partially because of his very nature.
Speaking of inner natures, Draconis, no, the Hyena he was, he did not know that Kaito and Tatsuya Nara both were wondering whether Kaito was also an Uchiha, nor that their thinking was tending to the opposite of his own. It looked like Tatsuya Nara had to leave, but as he left he mentioned that there was a foreign power that might soon make its way over to Konoha. He looked busy though so Draconis did not attempt to stop him leaving and decided to seek him out if he should develop any abilities he might be able to teach or help Tatsuya Nara out with that would be as useful as learning the art of manipulating one’s own shadow. To be frank, he might not be able to learn or make anything yet that was that useful though, on his own without learning it from someone else, until he was Chunin rank at least. He was not sure. The thing was, if Tatsuya was interested in the Wood element, that implied he had the Earth and Water elements, or at least was very likely too. Considering Draconis had just learned the fire element, and was already possessed by the wind element, possibly the Water element, he did not think he could have a very good chance of teaching Tatsuya Nara any elemental jutsu beyond maybe the Water element. Before he would learn the Water elemenet though if at all possible, he would become a Chunin first. Until he felt he was strong enough, other things would be more important.
He thought over what Tatsuya had said and came to the conclusion that power was even more necessary now if there was a potential foreign menace on the doorsteps of Konoha. He would be the one to eradicate the menace of the Hyuga (he spit on their name almost literally) not some darn foreigner.
He said to Kaito “I think I have to practice for a short bit, what do you think, Kaito?”
After he spoke, unless stopped by Kaito, he would attempt to erupt in the same fury as earlier, this time shooting the fire chakra from his mouth away from anyone else (anything flammable for that matter as well) in the shape of a dragon. A disappointingly small lump would burst out. Darn. He muttered under his breath, rather unhappy about the whole matter. “That is too small. I need to work on this more gosh darnit.”
Draconis held his breath a short time and then tried again. He belched out a larger flame ball this time, but frankly, he was disappointed in himself again. The Fireball looked nothing like a Dragon’s head and if anything looked to be the remains of one such beast’s dinner. Depending on who you asked this could mean any one of a number of things, but in Draconis’ thought process this meant the skeleton, a carcass. He needed more.. craftsmanship for this to work ok. If it was not a dragon head, and don’t ask him why it had to be a dragon head, it apparently would not work. Someone had told him once about the jutsu and how it was not learned properly if it was not in the form of a Dragon head. It was something to do with chakra control if he remembered correctly. Well, whatever. He still needed to practice the jutsu for size as well. He tried belching out the flames again, making sure to not let the fireball be near anything flammable or delicate, people and animals being included in this latter category. This time, he tried to control the rage that was pouring out of his system. Man, this was how he should vent, practicing fire related jutsu! This time he tried to focus his thoughts, into the shape of a Fire Dragon, in the Asian style, whatever that meant, he was not sure. Regardless, he then spewed out a slightly larger ball of flames again. This time from a distance it looked kind of sort of like a Dragon head but not up close. Up close the missing details were obvious, many marking were superficial, the holes and bumps barely there, and merely a different colour to allow them to pretend to a full existence, a mockery of his earlier attempts.

(Allow me to start it off! Lmao I read up on it. In order to use Raikiri, which is more concentrated form of Chidori, you must have Lightning element first. They are both different techniques.)
As the two boys conversed, Tatsuya felt that he had to leave. Kaito turned his head to the older boy, watching him walk off, but listen to his words. Apparently there was a growing threat. A foreign force that'd make its way to Konohagakure sometime in the future. That it'd be best to grow stronger to be ready. Another reason for the boy to work harder than ever now. He'd make sure to heed the warning and train his butt off. Any threat to the village meant a threat to his dear mother. "Understood! I'll be sure to see you again Tatsuya-Senpai!"
Once he was far out of the view, Kaito returned to channeling his Lightning. Instead of using his burning passion to fuel his Katon manipulation, he resorted to thinking of moments in his life that were, how do you say it? "Electrifying." Something that'd send a shock down his spine. Throughout his body. Anywhere. While concentrating on making the crackles dance on the surface of his palm he was told to use metal or water to aid him. Of course! Why didn't he think of that earlier? Using a conductor would actually give him better results. Kaito stopped what he was doing and scratched his head, "Oh man!!! Why didn't I think of that earlier? Haha. Thanks a lot Hyena! I'm going to try doing that now actually!"
The boy's head went from side-to-side. He searched for some metal. Nothing. Not even a fence. There was, however, a small pond about five meters out. Kaito would be able to use that to conduct his lightning over. He'd walk over to the pond while Hyena focused on generating a flame. When he reached the small body of water he knelt down, placing his hand on the surface of the water. Fortunately, there was no sign of life in the pond. So he didn't have to worry about harming any wildlife. "Here I go!" Kaito began channeling the same chakra through his forearm, where it'd begin to surge through his hand. Electricity generated from his hand and ran through the lake, but not as strong as he wanted it to. "I was close that time."
During his second time he looked up at Hyena to see if he was showing progress. And although he did show tremendous progress, seemingly lighting his whole hand ablaze, his facial expression cried "fury!" Something was troubling Hyena, and Kaito knew what it was. After watching Hyena practice a bit with a certain fire technique, he stood up and walked back over to his packmate, placing his hand on his shoulder. "Hyena, there's no need to thank me." Kaito smiled momentarily before showing off his serious expression, "I can see what powers your fire. I'm glad to see that it works for you, but, your fire is rage. Fury. Hatred. It isn't your burning passion. Your love for Ninjutsu. Do not let this fire consume you. I say this as a packmate who cares about the pack leader."
Kaito's head lowered as he slid his hand off of Hyena's shoulder, "You may think of me as a child who only sees the good in things. Energetic and ecstatic a majority of the time. I only choose to be this way because I refuse to live my life hating everything. Loathing the world for taking my father and sister away from me and my mother. Do you know how much I miss them?" Kaito could not contain his feelings any longer. If Hyena was his packmate, his friend, then he knew he could trust the boy with how he felt. Besides, maybe Hyena could relate.
Both of his eyes watered up as he tried to find his words. Never before had he spoken about this to anyone, not even his mother. "I live with my mother and she hasn't been the same since. I try and try to make her happy but sometimes I just fall short. I cannot give her the happiness that my father did. Sometimes I just wish that they were here with me." The child's tears dropped to the burnt ash below. All he truly needed was someone to listen. Someone to be there for him to help him. That someone was Hyena. Ever since he became a packmate he felt like he could open up to him. Like Hyena was blood.

(Sorry, RL delayed me some. Also, it would probably be awkward to roleplay out direct training while getting emotional ic, instead maybe through having your “subconscious” think things over for the lightning element might work, you should be ok doing a bunch of talking posts if you train again afterwards. also, i deliberately did not do all the talking i could have in this topic, i think you have a better shot at a sharingan if we make it multiple posts of grieving and such)
The other boy evidently looked up to Tatsuya Nara, while the Hyena took a rather different attitude towards things. While Kaito looked up to the seemingly higher ranked and certainly more knowledgeable shinobi, The Hyena viewed him as one of those on a higher position on life’s pecking order. To get to the top and become the alpha of the large pack that was Konoha, he would have to far surpass those like Tatsuya Nara, standing on the shoulders of giants if you will, to be able to wipe those unworthy from their pitiful existences. It was not that he disliked the Nara clan member. Rather, he was because he was simply an obstacle to be overcome, a mountain to be crossed, one over whose shoulders he must climb to attain further power. If he, this time “he” referred to the Hyena, was not careful, he would begin to view everyone around him, friends if he ever had any ones he could truly bestow the title of that upon, enemies as well, the world perhaps. He had to retain his wild side but he had to treat people as, well, people. He could not treat them as cattle, something to be ignored, or shunned, as he himself had once been. Never could he allow that to happen. Never. NEVER. It was a bit of an oxymoron really, a compassionate but wild and ferocious fellow. Maybe he could pull it off, lest there be more like him, the Hyena’s own doing. That would make him the ultimate hypocrite.
He realized Kaito had resumed talking and stopped trying to not let himself view people as statistics or cattle or possibly both. It seemed that Kaito was finding his idea a little helpful, which was good. It appeared that he was showing steady improvement as well. Kaito also said that interestingly enough, the Hyena should be fueling his fire jutsu with a burning passion as opposed to pure rage. Well, he could hardly argue that point now could he? Rage, especially the fiery kind he was so prone to, tended to make one irrational and reckless, often their doom. Cold rage was better but not much less stressful, and while controllable was not entirely healthy. It seemed he needed to acquire some emotional intelligence and interesting. It seemed Kaito forced himself to be happy, to avoid thinking about the many losses he had already suffered in his life. Hmmm… He was not any good with words unfortunately. Kaito was beginning to remind him of himself when he had lost his own parents. He had not heard himself that he had had any siblings, any chance of their being a younger pack mate of the same progeny as he had been eliminated a long time ago.
What could he say? Hmmm… The Hyena pondered this for a while, also considering in the back of his mind how he might refine a certain fire jutsu. He figured it was mostly attention to detail that mattered at this stage. Right now he could feel that the dragon’s head that he was forming was hollow. He made a mental note to practice this stuff later, for now he had to fix an issue with one of his pack mates. He did not need one of these episodes on the battlefield, even if it was not Kaito’s fault, he did not have reason to hate the world like The Hyena, but it could certainly prove fatal. He needed to figure out what to say to help this little fellow. The first thing that came to mind was that perhaps those losses of his had made Kaito into the wise boy he was now, but he doubted that would help much. Maybe a distraction would work. This was similar to negotiations he thought, as he was trying to convince someone of a different opinion or at least distract them from some painful facts. He could see the normal happy façade that Kaito had had earlier slipping away, crumbling into dust as the dam containing his bottled up emotions burst, or more accurately exploded outward, releasing them through the expressions of the normally cheerful boy.
As the other boy’s hand slipped down and he seemed to slump while standing upright, the emotions seeming to literally weight him down, The Hyena figured an elderly brother type hug might not hurt, as it would be kind of weird for him to sit next to the other boy, even though that would probably make them closer in height, the other boy being a little small for the age The Hyena presumed he was of. He was not sure but he thought the other boy’s head came up to partway up his stomach at best, hopefully nobody got the wrong idea. He knelt down, keeping his upper legs upright, so the two were closer in height. He ignored the other boy’s tears, and attempted to give him a elderly-brother hug, mouthing “no-homo” at anyone who might be watching, if there were any not frightened off by his earlier displays in the middle of the street. His left arm was around the other boy’s back, holding him close, the other one patted him on the back gently. Kaito reminded him of himself, perhaps it was an instinctive reaction, he himself had lost both of his own parents at the young age of 5, old enough to know something was wrong, perhaps exactly what, but not old enough to be able to do anything much by himself. He might have wept himself upon being reminded of his loss but in the struggle for survival as a (very) little boy, he had shed all his tears and then some, the pain being dulled by the daily grind.
“I get where you are coming from, Kaito. I too have lost loved ones.” Unsure of what else to say, the Hyena paused for a moment, and then shifted his position, putting each of his hands on of the other boy’s shoulders, and looking him in the eye. “Listen. You still have something of your life to cherish. Your mother might not say anything but she needs you and loves you with all her heart. Your father and sister would not want you to grieve for them. They would want you be happy with the life they granted you. At least you have always had people to protect…”
If the other boy appeared to be lost in his own world still, Draconis would stand up and quietly leave to continue his own training.

Noticing the other boy seemed to still be lost in his own world, Draconis decided to head on out and continue training, perhaps he would encounter this fellow again later.
