The Terror of the Forest (IO) (Salzem, Kasai)

Salzem split the first rider in two, blood and organs spilling all over the chuunin as his blades severed the rider's stomach wall, then his spine, then shattered his ribs. Salzem saw the man was still alive some how, breathing, but dying. To speed up the process, Salzem plunged one blade into his heart, and one into his skull, ending his life for good. Salzem turned to deal with the ant but as he did so, all he saw was a giant mushroom-cloud explosion about the size of one of the trees. Ant parts sprayed everywhere, all over the ground and sky ant parts were found. Due to the ant, the second rider with the acid gun was thrown into the air. Salzem was about to cut him apart to but Drac beat him to it with a nice clean thrown knife to the back. The man shuddered, then convulsed, acid spraying everywhere, over him, over the ground, on the ant remains and finally on Salzem. A small bit of acid managed to splash over his whole face nearly avoiding his eyes but not the lids. Nearly. Not enough to burn through the bone, but the flesh was already being eaten away. The pain was impossible, burning, fire, liquid, All these sensations as his flesh boiled away. Salzem let out a howl of pure agony, unable to sense anything else. Salzem had dropped his blade at this point, His body freaking out over the quick eradication of his flesh.. Acting on instinct, Salzem weaved his hands quickly for the Medical Ninjutsu level two. His hands began to glow with a light blue healing fire. Salzem opened his left eye, vision blurry form the pain. He placed his shaky hands to his burnt face and began to let his healing work. For the next few minute, all Salzem was aware of was pain. Deep, agonizing pain arching over him like a bolt of tainted lightning. Slowly, Salzem began to regain his senses as the pain dulled from Impossible to barely tolerable. He groaned and fell back onto the ground, trying to comprehend the evils of acid. He had managed to stop the advance of the acid, however, his face now looked something like that of Jeff the Killer (Fourth wall break I know) with his skin grown whiter than a sheet, the area around his eyes burnt black. His mask had been eaten away, barely in functioning order. He had managed to stop the acid and heal the wounds but with a ghastly appearance as a reminder of his ignorance.

Upon watching Salzem cut the man who was flying through the air straight in half, Kasai canceled his Jutsu. 

After that, many instances of gore occurred. The man was cut in half, spilling innards everywhere. The blood covered Salzem in a shower of red, and yet the man survived still. Salzem quickly ended that. 

Next, the ant got caught by the very edge of the fireball, but caught none the less. A flicker of appreciation for the ape came across Kasai's face. The ape had taught him well, and seeing the ant die instantly, he knew just how strong the jutsu was, it made him feel more reassured in his learning of it. 

However, after that, a strange series of unfortunate events occured (haha! I too can break the fourth wall with references). The ant, and the second man, as they came crashing down, caused a spray of action. Kasai remained still, seeing the acid and where it would land. He had it splash harmlessly around him, and ensured none got on himself. However, it was then that he heard a cry, and knew that it was one of the other two. It had to be.

Scanning the field for only a second, Kasai saw Salzem already attempting to heal himself.

No, damn it, no.


Kasai screamed internally. He remembered the last time a teammate had been critically injured during a mission, and he had taken all the blame. This couldn't happen again. 

Nearly flying across the ground, Kasai would use all his strength to gain max speed, running towards Salzem. Learning medical jutsu would have paid off, Kasai thought. He always thought that.

"No, damn it Sal," Kasai said softly as he arrived at his friend. His face seemed to be very badly damaged by the acid. "Can you stand?"


"Draconis!" Kasai roared out to the third, though he was likely already coming. "Help me; we need to get him to the hospital as fast as we can."


"Everyone is dead, friend," Kasai said. He hoped Salzem wouldn't struggle. "Please, let us help you. If we get you there fast enough, they can heal nearly all of this."

If Salzem could stand, Kasai would help him up, but if he couldn't, Kasai would lift him up, hopefully with Drac's help. He was heavy, sure, but Kasai had some strength, especially when it came to saving someone. Salzem wouldn't die, that was for sure, but he was not about to have one of his friends end up with a face as badly burned as his own.

He only hoped they would make it there before the acid set in completely. If it did, it would still be somewhat curable, but there would be permanent damage.

"Don't argue with me on this one," Kasai would say, if Sal tried to protest. "You aren't dying, not today. If you want battle scars, I'll guarantee this will leave many marks, but you'll want your eyes to work."

With that, Kasai would hopfully lift Sal up, and help him off to the hospital nice and quickly. 

Either way, however, regardless of how it went, Kasai would end up going to the officials, and reporting the indecent, and claiming the beast dead, eye witnessed.

Woah, goodness, I almost forget to request justu. 1k out of the 3k towards mastering Substitution technique, if that's okay, and the other 2k towards finishing training Karyoku.

As the mission dictated that Draconis spend a bit more time out in the field, including a bit of extra for getting home safely with or without incident, he began to head back but saw Salzem hit by the acid. Uh oh. He began sprinting in Salzem’s direction, seeing him raise his hands to his face for some technique or such. He nearly stepped in a puddle of acid, and the rapidity with which a stone was eaten away confirmed his worry, not fear, but worry instead. Salzem would be lucky to come out unscathed…. Dayum, that really looked like it hurt, it had been a long time since Draconis had experienced such pain himself. He winced, cringing inwards slightly as he sped towards his fallen team-mate.

“Hey, you ok over there?” It was an obvious question with an obvious answer, more so when he saw Kasai coming out of a tree or what ever towards Salzem at top speed too. Draconis rushed over, using the Fire Halberd technique he had been training to try to get over faster, vainly of course as the technique did not boost speed in the slightest, and man did the prognosis not look good. Salzem’s face had managed to resist the acid, perhaps the effect of the technique Draconis had seen him trying to use. “What ever that was keep it going, it looks like it was helping.”

Kasai got there first, so Draconis would let him help Salzem up, if needed, standing a a brief distance away. Afterwards, wether or not Kasai needed to carry Salzem, Draconis would say “There are some things I must do on this battle field. I will follow briefly, don’t wait for me, he should be ok if you are with him.”

Soon he would return from the battle field to Konoha, but first he needed to practice his jutsu. Concentrating, he tried again, flaring his fire chakra in a similar manner to the Wind Glaive technique. Punching a tree, he felt his power increased, but his toughness evidently was not, as he nearly broke his entire fist doing such. Looks like such techniques were a little risky after all. Hmm.

He quickly went around, burying the remains, mostly so that others would not be able to get to them easily without metagaming the hell out of the rpg for an entirely useless reward. As he was still trying to fulfill the minimum amount of time expected for him to be out on a mission, he went and covered up all the acid remaining with sand and dirt too, making sure to avoid any contact with it.

After that, he tried using the Fire Halberd technique one more time, and kicked a rock into the sky, accidentally downing a small summon though he did not know it. Then he began to head back to Konoha cause his time was up.

Salzem was barely conscious when Kasai ran to his side. He blinked, his vision blurry, his skin throbbing with as much intensity as someone striking a Timpani drum under his skin. Could he stand? Salzem tried to get to his feet but his legs fell out from under him and was only upright due to Kasai's support.

"Unhh......" Was about all Salzem was capable of saying. his eyes blinked over to Draconis who was staying behind for one reason or another. He slipped in and out of consciousness, always waking to the sights of moving ground. Or maybe he was moving. Perhaps the world was moving in time with Kasai's steps... Salzem's senses were disoriented. He often forgot where he was, what was going on and why he was doing it. At one point, he tried to stand up on his own, trying to get out of Kasai's grip so he could stand. However, as he tried pushing down on the ground with his legs, nothing would happen. He wouldn't move. He tried again and again before all his energy was spent and he once again remained hanging limply. His vision blurred deeper, exhaustion starting in his legs made it's way up his body like rising water, enveloping all, covering Salzem in it's influence. Suddenly.... Darkness.

Salzem awoke on the battlefield, Draconis and Kasai frozen in time, the rider moving ever so slowly, acid spraying this way... then this way.... then at Salzem. He watched in ever growing horror as the acid inched forward in the air, slowly but surly, seemingly stalking it's target. Salzem tried to move but something was holding him down. He looked down and saw he was chained to a wooden torture table. Then, Salzem saw the other rider, the one Salzem had split in half tighten the chains around the table. His stomach was split open, his head had two new holes in his head, blood forever coursing from the wounds. He was smiling, not darkly like someone out for revenge, but almost fatherly, like "It will all be over soon..." Just then Salzem heard those words though The man's lips did not move. Salzem looked around with his eyes as the rider fastened his head to the table. Kasai and Draconis were moving now, but something was off. Their backs were to him, their ears... white as his now were.... no.... No.... They turned their heads slowly towards him, their eyes red, just as he was. Skin, pale white, area around their eyes blackened, severe acid burns. They began to stumble towards him, arms outstretched a pleading look in their eyes. Blood began to drip from their mouths as they approached, then their eyes. Soon it wasn't drops, it was a stream. No... Stay back... Salzem struggled against his chains but that seemed to only make them tighter. When Kasai and Draconis got within 2 meters of him, they began to melt, starting at their feet and working their way up, all the while the man he had killed was laughing he head off, enjoying the show as if this was the Big Tent Circus. At 1 meter, Kasai and Draconis were dragging themselves to Salzem's feet, letting out a ghastly moan before melting into a puddle of blood at Salzem's feet. At this point, Salzem was screaming. It was horrible. It was visceral. The acid was close now, wrapping around his face like a mask. Before his vision was completely covered again, the Rider Salzem had cut up leaned in front of Salzem's face smiling, blood pouring out of his mouth as he did so before saying in the darkest way, his breath smelling of acid. "Time to wake up..."

Salzem snapped awake, quickly, his face covered in bandages, him sitting upright in a hospital bed. How did he get here? Was It Kasai or Draconis? Did they bring him here? Salzem reached over and found his mauled mask still on his face. At least this was constant. A shiver went up his spine when he remembered the nightmare. It was around midnight now but Salzem wouldn't sleep again. He would not return to that world. No. no...
