A Night Terror

A fun read
Have you ever had one of those moments where you feel like you wake up, you think you are awake and you either see or sense the room but then you feel that your entire body is paralyzed? you want to move, to look at something specific, but you cant.
You feel like something is off, something is coming, and then all of your senses hone in on its presence.
This could be the subtle feeling of pressure somewhere, maybe you feel it near your feet as if someone just got on to your bed.
Maybe you feel the whole bed compress like they just laid down next to you.
Or maybe you just get that overwhelming sense that someone is just standing at your door way, staring at you.
This is a common story across the internet, people talk about a cold sensation... an unnerving eary feeling... some even talk about seeing strange looking people or creatures.
On this night, Shinoskay would find this very situation visit him.
Sometime during the Witching Hour, though unaware of the time, the boy would find himself in a room that he recalled as where he had fallen asleep at. He lay there in much the same way he had left himself when he drifted into unconsciousness. While his immediate thought was at how it was still dark and he was still tired, he almost immediately realized something was wrong.
'Why am I awake' 'I feel heavy and fatigued' 'this feeling is familiar but I don't understand whats going on'
Something donned on him, out of the corner of his eye as he tried to understand the room he saw someone standing in his doorway. The doorway itself was blackened beyond its frame and he could not see what was beyond it but he recognized it as the doorway to his room. They were just standing there, there frame was obviously petite but they seemed taller then him.
It felt strange, he wanted to turn to look at them but his body felt so heavy and fatigued like it was ready to just pass out again but something abut her captivated him. 'Her?' The thought of how he realized it was a female was lost as quickly as it came, his body was so heavy and tired yet he felt he needed to look at her.
He drove himself to turn his head to look her direction, the sensation that it was important that he look at her was more overwhelming then his sense of fatigue... like it was a matter of life or death but he couldn't quite grasp why. And so he turned his head....
In an instant, the moment his vision shifted as his head rolled to allow him to look at her... suddenly she was no longer at the door, suddenly she was now no more then a foot away. The intensity of the situation burned into him 10 fold and suddenly his drive to look at her, the unrecognizable sense of life or death that just urged him, filled him with an intense understanding that he HAD to look at her and if he didn't he was going to die. As he looked at her he felt her looking at him, he realized now what he had subconsciously determined earlier. She stood with her hand eloquently placed one on top of the other before her, she wore what looked like a gothic victorian dress... and she was just standing there.
Her gaze seemed to go beyond the boy, her pale skin almost as if seen in the day while everything else was dark. Behind her, the doorway she once stood in, seemed almost pitch black just inches past it where normally one could see.
'whats going on' 'shes going to kill you' 'where did she come from' 'don't look away, if I look away I die' 'why cant I move' 'She is waiting for you to look away' 'who is she'
While he could not draw his body to move, held down by the intensity of the situation and the overwhelming sense of fatigue, all he could do was stare at he as his mind buzzed to try and understand... something beyond him but from him spoke to him to tell him he needed to keep looking at her, his eyes where so heavy... one of them felt like it was closed and the other burned from being so dry. He struggled to watch her as she watched him, no change in her could be seen in any way, she seemed serene and calm with an air of impassive presence. Yet, the fear and understanding that the moment he looked away he would die persisted....
And then the world went dark again, for the rest of the night
