A Genin and Chuunin Collide! (Salzem)

Hikari was surprised to see that her idea had worked, not believing he would care about a flesh wound like that. She also was not expecting him to know medical ninjutsu, something she has always wanted to learn. Wait, now is my chance to try something out! I used to practice the motions with my mom, before she died that is. I was never actually able to learn the jutsu though...but if I can do it here, I might have a chance at beating this guy! Then maybe I can ask him to show me some medical ninjutsu as well. It's like killing two birds with one stone, figuratively of course!


Not waiting for Salzem to finish healing himself, Hikari got into a tradition Hyuuga pose with her arms out in front of her. She would wait until Salzem got close to her to try out a jutsu she has been wanting to try, a legacy of the Hyuuga clan. The Eight Trigrams: Sixty Four Palms technique, where the user attempts to strike sixty four of their targets chakra points. The user strikes six times for a total of sixty four points hit. Hikari heard the clang of Salzem's scales and knew, he was getting ready to counter her. She had to be on her guard, especially if she wanted her jutsu to work. I just need to focus chakra into my palms and aim for the sixty four points on his body. The first strike I hit him twice, the second I hit twice again, the third I hit four times, the fourth I hit eight, the fifth I hit sixteen, and the sixth I hit thirty two times to make a grand total of sixty four times.


Hikari was amazed at how fast Salzem really was, realizing that was why she didn't sense his presence sooner when they first met. She slightly narrowed her eyes in antisapation, allowing her Byakugan to take over and see all around her. Then, to her surprise, he tapped her on the shoulder. Even if it's a trap, he's fell for my own trap as well! Salzem was in range of the Eight Trigrams: Sixty Four Palms technique, and Hikari planned to counter whatever he had up his sleeve with her own jutsu. Hikari focused chakra to her palms while she turned around, hoping to hit Salzem with the first strike of the Sixty Four Palms technique. If it connected, she would try for the five remaining strikes. If it failed, the jutsu would come to a halt, she would have to wait a bit to try it again, and she would be hit with whatever he had planned for her.

Salzem's eyes widened as Hikari turned around and proceeded to unleash the 64 palms technique. He was caught completely by surprise as her fingers seemed to press into his chakra points, stealing away his strength. Salzem was pushed back with each revolution of the technique, the power was not exceptional but the penetration into his energy was. He fell back, shuddering as his body took the abuse of this assault.

Hikari was astonished that she was actually able to pull off the Sixty Four Palms technique. She was so surprised that she broke her concentration and celebrated to herself. "I-I did it! I was able to pull off the Eight Trigrams: Sixty Four Palms technique!" Did you see that mom and dad? All of your hard work pulled off! I am not a useless Hyuuga member anymore! Just wait until I become a Chunin and amaze you even more!


Then she ran over to Salzem, even if they were in the midst of a spar, she wanted to make sure he was going to be fine. "Salzem, are you okay? I hope I didn't hurt you too much...I didn't know if it would actually hit or not..." It was true, she had been doubtful of if she would be able to pull off the jutsu, since she was still a pretty weak Genin who had just activated her Byakugan thanks to the help of a mysterious man from Iwakagure who just happened to of had a Byakugan.

Salzem stumbled back, falling on one knee. That technique... took a lot of what he had to bare. As Hikari ran up to him, Salzem held up a hand, intent on stopping her.

"No!" He said forcefully as he tried to get to his feet. Only when the wave of nausea caused by massive exhaustion pass did he realize to tone he used. "I'm fine...." he said, in a softer tone. His body heaved up and down as it struggled to adapt to the sudden change the 64 palms had inflicted upon him. He felt a bit woozy, being at about half strength now, but he was strong enough to continue the fight.

"Lets... continue..." Salzem said, making his body move into a battle stance.

As she heard Salzem tell her no, she stopped in her tracks. Realizing that he wanted to continue the spar, even if he wasn't at his full power now, she got into a defensive stance, ready for him to make his move this time. While she waited, she watched him struggle a little and felt incredibly sorry she had done that to him, even if they were sparring and that was the whole point of it.

Her stance consisted of her legs being bent slightly and her arms out in front of her, a traditional pose for the Hyuuga clan. Even if she did not use the Sixty Four Palms technique, she was still able to see his chakra points and could hit them if needed. That, she decided, would be here defense strategy for their spar, and any other spars she has. The Hyuuga clan is exceptional at using their dojutsu for defensive and offensive tactics.

Salzem felt as if he was fighting while under the influence of heavy alcohol: woozy, sick to your stomach, and most of your strength is directed to not passing out. However, Salzem wanted to finish this fight and would not back down, nor would he fight like an idiot. He glanced down at Hikari's palms. If he managed to disable those, her gentile fist will be meaningless... Having thought this, he decided the best way to disable them was to make sure they couldn't move. Salzem dashed forward, grabbing both of Hikari's wrists with his hands. He would then raise her to about eye level, raise a foot to be level with her chest, and land a straight kick. He would let go of her arms of course, not wanting to dislocate or break them. The impact of the kick would be enough to send her skidding backwards across the ground, allowing Salzem breathing room. He couldn't use any of his signature techniques for if he did so, he would end up possibly killing Hikari. To compensate, he began running in a full-speed circle around her, making him disappear. He would do this until he decided how to proceed.

One moment Salzem was right before her eyes, the next he was in front of her, pulling her upward by her wrists. She winced at the force of all her body weight being put on her wrists, plus Salzem's grip wasn't all that light. She was not eye level with Salzem, which was pretty high off the ground for her considering that fact that Hikari was only four foot nine inches. With her palms restrained, Hikari was defenseless again Salzem. Therefore she was unable to block his kick to her chest, so she was sent spiralling against the ground a good ten-ish feet away. This seems to be the only time where being short and light weight could be a problem. He was easily able to pick me up, causing me to not be able to deflect his attacks. If he had used a clone of some sort, or if I had been facing two ninjas, I would still be in the air and getting the crap beaten out of me! I need to find a way to stop that from ever happening again!


Brushing the dirt off herself, Hikari got back on her feet. Salzem was running around her in circles until she couldn't tell where he was. This is bad. I need to think, quickly! She did two hand signs, the horse and the tiger, then she focused chakra into her feet to help her jump higher. With the added boost, she jumped into the air a good seven or so feet high, enough for her to do her Great Fireball jutsu. She focused chakra into the pit of her stomach and then launched it out of her mouth, forming a large fireball which she then launched at the spot she had just been standing. This jutsu would hopefully deter Salzem from running his circle around her, as he would most likely dodge the fireball jutsu. If he dodged the jutsu or not, Hikari would do a back flip in the air to get her body to move away from Salzem and the fireball. She would then land and get back into a defensive pose, knowing he would strike with his insanely undetectable speed.

Salzem in his weakened state, had just enough time to get out of the way of the fireball, rolling backwards, then as his feet touched earth again, he jumped back, about 3 meters. He landed next to a large rock, about 4 by 5 feet. Perfect. To mix up his strategy, Salzem grabbed either side of the rock, literally ripping it in two. he would then toss one piece, then the other at hikari, light enough to be block able, hard enough to stun. He would then throw the other in a similar way and if everything went as planned, the second one would strike a little off to the right of the first one, still striking, just obscuring her vision further. Salzem would then use his speed to appear behind Hikari, sweeping his leg under hers in an attempt to trip her. if this whole thing succeeded (By "if" I mean sense I lacked specifics, you could write your character to stop this whole thing), Salzem would grab the rocks, tossing them to the side as they had served their purpose.

Hikari was astonished that Salzem, even in his more weaker than average state, was able to rip a large rock in two. I've been sparring with a man that strong? If we were enemies he could kill me with a single punch or kick...I had no idea ninja like him existed! I really do need to train more or else I'll never become the best medical ninja! Her thoughts were interrupted when Salzem threw half the rock at her. As she was preparing to jump to dodge it, she realized her body would not allow her to move. I just noticed how much damage that kick actually did to me....Adrenaline must have been helping me out last time, but it seems to have worn off. Now I can tell that my lungs and chest are burning. Maybe I broke a rib or two. I also didn't notice these scrapes on my arms and legs, they must be from when I went rolling after the kick.


Knowing her body was still recovering from his last blow, Hikari was trapped where she stood. This is mind, she knew of a way to block the rock without taking a ton of damage. She put her arms in front of her face, in an x shape so they would not break upon impact. Lucky for her, Salzem appeared behind her and sweeped her legs, causing her to fall to the ground. She braced herself and was able to save herself from hitting the ground too hard. She thought, with a chuckle, that it was a good thing she wasn't too far from the ground in the first place. Salzem tossed the rocks to the side as if they weighed no more than a feather, this amazing Hikari even more. She rolled forward, giving herself some room away from Salzem, and got up, able to move freely again. Turning to face Salzem, she put her arms out in the signature pose she has been in the majority of their spar. Figuring out slowly what Salzem was capable of, Hikari was ready for what he planned to throw at her next. If he didn't do something quick enough, she would take that time to go on the offensive instead of the defensive.

Salzem was surprised at how much Hikari could take. She seemed to have broken something from that kick he threw earlier, the scrapes on her limps must hurt immensely, And to top it all off, she blocked his earthen projectiles seemingly easily. She was defiantly a force to be reckoned with. Salzem held up his hands, signaling the fight was over. If this went on too long, They both may end up doing irreversible damage to themselves. Noticing the stain Hikari was under,

"Alright, that's enough. You are hurt. Let me heal you."

Salzem would weave signs slowly for the Medical Ninjutsu level 2 so she could recognize them, and his hands would be coated in a bluish flame. If Hikari would let him, and direct him to the internal damage, Salzem would place his hands upon the spot gently, healing them to the best of his ability. If Hikari allowed him to proceed with the healing, Salzem would look up from his work every once in a while.

"You are tough. You know this?"
