Rinto's Exams

It came. The day came quicker than he could ever imagine.

Rinto had started his morning routine accordingly: waking up, taking a shower, changing into a fresh set of clothes, and grabbing something to eat on the way out. Never did he hang around long in the orphanage other than when he had to sleep. Not even breakfast would cause him to stop and take the time out to stay any longer than he had to. In the past, perhaps, but in the present? Not anymore. However, he had to rush, only a bit, since he just so happened to oversleep.

Before he knew it though, the academy came into his sights. Not wasting another second, the teen jogged through the entrance and to his assigned classroom. Once he opened the door, he was welcomed by the site of many other children. All a year or two younger than he was. Rinto sighed, but allowed a small smile to appear on his face. Today was the day. He casually walked passed various desks until he reached the very back, where his usual seat was. He then took his seat and leaned back, waiting for the proctor to come in and assess them. He hadn't brought his katana, rather his left it in his room at the orphanage. It wasn't needed... but, what was needed, was his knowledge on the academy jutsu. Which had down pat.

The proctor made her way to the exam hall, a garland of fresh bleeding irises clutched in her hand. She was due at the Muzukage monument later to offer her small sacrifice to their great leader but first she had to do her work. Another student was attempting to make Genin and it was her job to make sure the kid was ready.

"Alright," she spoke curtly. "The scenario is that Lord Xyxer's Hounds are after you. Explain how you would either outrun them or nuetralize them using only clone and transformation jutsu. Perform the jutsu as you go along to keep it interesting."

He had barely payed attention, but it seemed his time already came. The boy got up from where he was situated, walking back down to the front of the class before entering into the examination room, which was just off to the side. He kept walking until he reached an appropriate spot, one located directly in front of the proctor. It was a woman, apparently holding a bundle of flowers, died red. It made Rinto curious as to why they were in her hands. But, it seemed that he was curious far more often than he used to be. Ever since he met that young stranger... the same one who taught and prepared him for this test, and even gifted a weapon to him. The boy took in a deep breath and stared the proctor in the eyes.

After that preparation, he wasn't about to roll over and fail the exam.

But, the task he was given was... weird. Definitely weird. It wasn't anything he expected, but considering the village he was in... maybe he should always expect the unexpected. For a moment, his golden eyes drifted upwards and towards the ceiling. His brain went into thinking mode and his body was slowly reacting to the transition. The boy's hand went up to his chin and held it, while he lightly bit his lip. To be honest, he wasn't much of a thinker, or someone who took things into consideration. However, he had to try here. Otherwise he would fail.

"First off, I'd outrun them rather than, uh, 'neutralize' them. The Mizukage probably wouldn't like if I harmed them, right? But, it all depends on how they would come to attack me, miss," he stated, his regular smile appearing on his face as his eyes shifted to the woman. He had an okay idea on how to answer this scenario. The real question was, though, was it good enough for the proctor? "If they were getting ready to attack me, I would quickly form the necessary hand seals for the clone jutsu..." Rinto then went through the hand seals for said technique, as per the proctor's demands. Ram, snake, tiger. Similar to when he learned the jutsu, two clones appeared on either side of the boy. However, they did not come into existence without the smoke for theatrics, and it took several seconds for it to disperse. "Did you see the smoke there? Well, if they attacked while the smoke was still in place... Before the attack reached me I'd trade places with one of my clones."

He grinned, "Then I would make the hand seals needed for the transformation jutsu..." Yet again, he went through a set of hand seals, different ones meant for a different technique. Dog, boar, ram. Another puff of smoke consumed him, but also took over his clones. When it cleared, in Rinto's place, along with his clones, would be large and vicious hounds. He didn't exactly know the appearance of the Mizukage's dogs... So, he went based them off of what he heard around the village when exploring. The teen then cancelled both technique, resulting in him regaining his normal appearance and his clones to disappear. "I would take on their form if the technique was successful. Since I had to sacrifice one of my two clones, only the one left over would copy my actions and go into the same transformation. "

For a moment, he stopped and lightly hummed in thought, before opening his mouth to speak once more, "I'm not sure if that would confuse them though, considering they're hounds... No, it wouldn't confuse them. Since they belong to the Mizukage, they have to be very skilled... Mmmm, well, hopefully it would throw them off for a second or so. Especially with the smoke. Um... actually, scratch that part about transforming into the hounds." Rinto proceeded to make the same hand seals as previously. Dog, boar, ram. What occurred was the exact same as before, except there were no clones at his side. Plus, the form he chose to take on was different. Instead of what he had at first, this time he was a small, grey, yet agile mouse. He then ended the jutsu and went back into his normal form. "If the terrain was through the village, I'd turn into a mouse along with my clone. Then I would head into a store, or a cart, that sold things like fruit. The scent of the fruit would hopefully mask mine!"

At the end of his explanation, Rinto grinned and crossed his arms over his chest. "From there I'd try to hold the transformation until they left, since it hardly takes any of my chakra," he concluded, while nodding his head. Although his explanation was most likely flawed... he wasn't one to think much in the first place, a definite fact to most people who knew him. However, now it was a case of what the proctor thought of his explanation, and his use of the two jutsu...

The proctor listened and watched. While the boy's answers were right, he clearly wasn't ready. She took pride in detecting bloodlust in her student's eyes and this kid didn't have any.

"You pass," she nodded curtly. "On a technicality, though passing and staying alive are two different things here." With that, she tossed him a battered headband, dried blood caking the metallic corners of the item. "The last Kiri nin who had it didn't deserve it, you make sure you do." With that, she waved him out.

He caught the headband on instinct, observing the dried blood on its corners, but disregarding it. But, he took the proctors words to heart. He'd prove that he deserved the headband... or, at least try his best to do so. "Thank you!" he responded, bowing in a show of gratitude before leaving the examination room, his first steps as a shinobi of Kirigakure.
