(Don't let the title be deceiving, I'm going to be completely serious for this. I know that it's a serious matter, and I will treat it as such.)
Kasai had been told by the Hokage that he was the first choice for ANBU captain. There hadn't been one in the village for a long time now; but it didn't meant that Kasai had forgotten what that meant.
As he walked through the forest, as Jason had told him to do in order to meet Brennar, his fire robe flowed behind him in the wind. The large ape scroll tied firmly on his back, his mask hanging around his neck, and katana at his side. His black hair tied firmly back in a top knot, Kasai's eyes pierced the leaves; his pupils no longer black, but twin vortexes of fire.
He had made a deal with Jason about this training. It was not that his body would be sparred, or that his mind would remain the same; but it was that the fire within him would not be extinguished. That did not mean his life, or his passion, but the Will of Fire. At this point in his life, that flame was the only thing left that made him place one foot in front of another. It was what had brought him back to life in the ruins of Iwa, and what caused him to take action in Konohagakure. It was how he had survived the torture by Xyxer and Youka.
His eyes drifting lazily around the green, he wondered just what this training would entail. Surely, it would not be a world of difference from what he had endured under the Demon's wing. He knew for a fact that this time, he would not be forced to kill his own best friend. However, he knew there would be the physical pain. He had endured such before. He had light himself on fire only to get closer to the element.
He let out a soft sigh as he walked. At this moment, he did not understand why the training was what it was. He disagreed with its methods, and the cruelty he had heard of. However, Jason, the Hokage himself, and one of his good friends, had asked him dearly to do this, and was convinced that he would survive through it. Kasai hoped so. Not for his own sake, but for the villages. He was one of the strongest they had, and in this time, the village needed all the Shinobi they could get.
He supposed that, even if Brennar had... disappeared in his position as Hokage, he must know somewhat of what he is doing, if Jason was tasking him with destroying Kasai.
Stopping in the center of a clearing, Kasai would close his eyes, and open his ears. His hands folded neatly together under the sleeves of his robes. Here, he would wait.
