Struggling to summon a demon/Helping the Shelter Empty Struggling to summon a demon/Helping the Shelter

Fri Aug 21, 2015 8:21 pm
(sorry the first 2/3 are me kind of rambling, not enough sleep Q _Q )

Draconis had had a lot of training but honestly he still had a lot of work to do. Even as a jounin. How could he be expected to go and lead others when he was too weak on his own. He punched a rock, angrily, breaking both the rock and his hand. Unfortunately, his temper still sometimes got the better of him. It would honestly be better if he could learn to control it because such habits were hardly healthy, both mentally, and physically, in a metaphysical and a literal sense. Unfortunately, this required maturity he was not sure he had, in its entirety. This was it self bad because honestly, for a jounin to still be losing his temper like this, so often… he should fix it quickly before it could become a hindrance. Too bad that this kind of mental issue was not as easily fixable as his hand… speaking of which… Draconis used the medical arts that he currently knew, working on reshaping his hand, and healing his damaged body. He needed to fix some stuff on his body, and then he would be better suited to fight. Unfortunately, he was not quite able to fix this stuff, maybe the Hokage would be able to help him out with all of this. Unfortunately, he had fought the Hokage recently and it was likely that the boss was still recovering.

Well, it was time for some thing else to be done now. Draconis walked to the middle of a silent clearing, he looked around to make sure that nobody was nearby so that he would not be interfered with, since honestly, he wanted to sleep cause he was tired, but he would be damned if he did not at least try to get a decent amount of training in before he fell asleep at his station or whatever. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be, and our protagonist, depending on your view point, his eyes straining as he struggled mightily to lengthen his training sessions, which was fortunately an endeavor that turned out to be easier done that it was sounding to have actually been like. After he found a small, small not being a previously listed requirement to which Draconis was adhering too, clearing, Draconis decided to try and say to screw it and to hell with the grammar cause he was rather tired, and he was going to have trouble keeping his training going at this rate fi he kept worrying about how he spoke, or such, but unfortunately, other worldly forces prevented him from doing such, and as a result, he was forced to try and make do anyway. He looked around the clearing in which he was setting up shop. He was going to do something very weird here. It would be of the occult nature, actually, and if he was completely frank, he had no idea what so ever of what to expect. Fortuinately, that would end up mattering little in the end, cause he would be doing something that very few had ever done before. You see, Demons, with a capital “D”, those were not often summoned by anyone, Mitsui included, if his assumptions were correct. Draconis checked through the supplies he had laid out, wanting to make sure that everything he had gathered was likely to work. Fortunately, the ritual itself would be relatively simple. You only needed to draw a pentagon in blood, using the life juice of twenty rabbits, five civilians all of differing ages and genders, half a fox, two spiders, and the mucus emitted from a snail’s eye balls. Yes, simple in deed right? You and I and Draconis all know sarcasm when we hear it or see it sometimes. Don’t we? Anyway, Draconis was laying out the stuff for a weird occult ritual, to try and summon a rather powerful demon. Now, the typical sensible person would not have tried to summon a powerful S rank demon on their first try, with no prior training what so ever, but if we are completely honest here, Draconis was more than a little ambitious, and quite unfortunately, both for himself, and the village of Konoha, he was less than entirely intelligent at this time. In other words, this is the result of looking at screens, and by those I do mean the Japanese screens, and staying up too many nights to talk to people. So the fact that Draconis was not thinking straight was not his fault, it was the fault of the other worldly force that controlled his every action and reaction, which force may well as have gone drinking in stead, so useless was it, or he, depending on how much of the fourth wall you want to break here.

Wanting to have taken the longest training on record in terms of single sets of sessions, known to man yet, Draconis worked on gathering the remaining supplies. He was so tired, that he could not hear the music that drifted through the forest, that was heard by nobody else either because Draconis must be secretly a lunatic, and every thing he types is actually nonsense, that being an unfortunate fact that he doesn’t know since it was entirely possible Draconis had been locked away in a rubbery room with a straight jacket on, so that he could not help but not hurt him self. Of course, to claim such a weird fact would be counter productive to Draconis’ over active imagination, whether or not it was actually true or not, so he should be assumed to actually be training, unless all the other ninjas in his own little world could be assumed to be figments of his imagination, which was not an entirely un, or not possible possibility but it was most likely that it was active after all, and he was actually fine, but he just was too tired to admit it. So eventually Draconis managed to get really started with the demon summoning ritual. He began working on clearing the clearing so that there would be room for the demon he was going to try and summon, since yes, that was the occult activity he had been intending on. Fortunately it did not need a lot of preparation as Draconis was honestly too tired to be able to think straight at the moment.

The first bit he needed to do was to flip through the book to figure out exactly what types of rituals he needed to do, in order to summon Infurius, Demon of Frustration. Yep, cool sounding name perhaps but the demon had better be friggin strong if Draconis had to go through all of this work. Then again, this was perhaps part of a devious test, devised by Infurius himself so that he could weed out any who were dumb enough to try and summon him to work with them. Hopefully, anyone who actually went through with everything to go and get ready to summon the demon with, should be able to have at least a reasonable shot at getting Infurius to help them, but honestly you never know. Honestly, the village needed Infurius to help them, what with the guy who Draconis was ordered to kill on sight and all that. So unfortunately, he did not have a lot of choice in the matter. However, because he wanted to have the longest training session known to man kind, or at least those in this universe, or at least, the mysterious somewhat omnipotent force controlling him did, so he continued trying to get Infurius.

Biting his thumb, and offending some invisible bystanders, who recognized the symbolic gesture from a play they had seen from THE bard, Draconis managed to make enough blood to start a pentagram. Of course, there was not enough blood on the ground to make any significant portion of the pentagram, only enough to get it started, literally. A single drop fell to the ground, despite the rather massive cut. Grumbling, Draconis fixed his hand with the medical ninjutsu again, and looked for something to hunt. When he got back, he found a raccoon that was pilfering his gathered supplies.

Draconis flew into a rage, to say the least. This god damn tanuki was pilfering his supplies after Draconis had gathered them for so long? Not in my back yard! Was what Draconis would have said if he were an elderly neighbor of the Tanuki. Instead, he picked a fight. And almost lost. The damn raccoon was pretty quick, and Draconis had a mighty fight with it, eventually winning. He literally saw red, by the end, he was so mad, he had painted the entire area with blood, of sorts, and appeared a little gruesome. Well, normally they needed a little less blood than was contained within the entirety of a twenty foot tall raccoon, but Draconis figured eventually after a while, that having extra would really not hurt that much. Extra blood that is. Yes, he did not fully lose control, he had merely used the blood of the giant raccoon, previously not mentioned to be giant, to paint everything in sight red, so that the summoning would be more likely to work. Hopefully the demon was amused, if not, Draconis had half a mind to give it a knuckle sandwhich for making him do all this silly stuff all the time. Of course, to do that, he needed to actually summon the demon, so his struggling so far was actually boosting his urge to summon the demon, and he was actually making progress. He had with him, among the many supplies, a book that detailed another ninjas’s attempts to summon Infurius. And yes, it seemed that to summon Infurius, things always went wrong, and that these could be planned for to a degree. Which is why Draconis had hidden extra supplies in case he failed to catch whoever was scheduled to steal his supplies. Yes, this had all be accounted for and expected but the incidents still offended him. Infurius would have an awful lot to answer for. If, Draconis could actually get his hands on him.

Having covered the area in blood, he cracked open the instructions, having read through the book in detail up until just before this point. It was now that he discovered that with this summoning, the initials one, that he needed to make a pentagram of blood, and that the blood formed pentagram would not work if it was solid, all the holes in the pentagram shape could not be solid. Royally pissed to hear about this, Draconis got out the scrubber and bucket of soapy water he had been requested to bring, and began scrubbing. The first thing he did, was try and clean a spot on the cobble stones that these blood thingies were suddenly vagued to be on in the middle of the forest for wc and personal convenience though nobody is supposed to know this ooc or ic really, and made sure that he was able to leave enough room to carve the actual pentagram out in blood. Sorta, anyway. So, Draconis slowly scrubbed away until there was a definite, noticeable, and large gap in the blood of the Tanuki, the japansese Racoon whatever Japanese meant in this area, and the area where the pentagram would appear, as Draconis had managed, he had left a larger gap than was completely necessary. Upon checking in the book of instructions, he was pleased to see that for once the book had done something that he had pre-empted. His gap was bigger than necessary in the book. However, upon the next page being turned to reveal the writing upon its leaves, he almost threw the book to the floor. The god damn book had changed its direction son the next side. If there was any blood on the cobble stones out side of the pentagram, Draconis would have to go and re do the entire friggin summon process. Draconis nearly blew his top at seeing that.

He decided to take a practical approach to this whole issue of making a pentagram of blood. He took the area he had been cleaning around, and began carving a pentagram into it. This was a slow process, as the blood was beginning to dry quite completely, and he was having to sometimes use sand paper, which also conveniently appeared in the depths of the bucket of soapy water he had brought. Shaking his head, partially to try to fling the sweat in his eyes away, and partially to get his rage to clear from his mind a little, Draconis continued scrubbing, the sweat at first being annoying, before he realized that moistening the blood from which he was to carve a pentagram, would actually be not too bad an idea. He worked on this for quite some time, cause there was also a specified limit which had to be surpsassed in terms of training, before Infurius would allow himself to be summoned. A royal pain in the ass to be sure but honestly it was better than never getting Infurius’ help Draconis supposed. That did not make it much less annoying though if Draconis was completely frank with anyone who asked him about this day. This day was gonna be the pits, since it was after he had pulled an all nighter, and not to study neither, it was to go and do missions all friggin day long. Man was this guy busy. At least he had gotten the Hokage’s documents back, so hopefully he had some extra brownie points with the boss, if not an actual reward. Grrrr. Grrrr. That was what was going through Draconis’ head as he worked on training his little heart out, though working on an obscene ritual could not exactly be called training now could it?

Having made the pentagram properly, Draconis worked securing all the vague manipulation rights he could have since he had not actually done the work and somehow because he had forgotten where he was in the training, he had managed to make the simplest of adjustments to his perceived reality and voila, he had the necessary stuff done. Too bad that had not worked with Infurius himself as he had tried before but this was mostly out of his control as he did not know that some otherworldly force far more omnipotent than the one which controlled him dictated that any method of trying to gain Infurius as a summon would have to take an inordinately long time, though the amount of frustrations, heart breaks, troubles, and actual training was up to the discretion of the lesser omnipotent force, the one that actually controlled Draconis, but as said before he did not know this. He only saw the end effect, which was that trying to summon Infurius was taking a bloody long time.

Having mande the pentagram, he read through all the stuff needed to summon Infurius, since there was a lot of pages on this crammed in that little book. Fortunately, there were only a few more steps left. “Ye muste spylle the blud ov ye olde hydra!!!” He read first. Oh my. Well, thanks to Kuro Hozuki, and Garroth as well he assumed, he was able to know what a Hydra should look like, but it sounded like this would be a major task in itself. Uhoh. As if on que, a massive head reared up behind the trees, as if it had been qued. By a producer of a story, or an omnipotent force controlling both it and Draconis. Meh. Who cares.

Giving up on the topic of trying to summon Infurius for the time being, Draconis abandoned all of his equipment in the forest because he was sick and tired of looking at it, trying to summon the demon. He walked into the village, looking for a way in. In to the veterinarian center any way. Why? Because he needed a way to practice the Mystical Palm technique after all, and what better place to practice than one where nobody would complain too loudly if you messed up?

Besides, if he made friends with any ninja animals later it would be useful practice.

Due to a cave in of a nearby building due to an accident with some earth jutsu, the place was swamped, and people were frantically trying to heal the little or not so little animals as fast as possible. Draconis had an abundance of animals to practice on as a result. The first little fellow was a puppy who had managed to avoid fatal injury, merely getting his leg severed in twain by a falling knife that had appeared from god knows where.

Draconis bent down to examine the wound. Hmmm. The muscles here had been clearly sliced in two, the knife must have been pretty sharp for the wound to not be ragged. The bone as well was cleanly severed in a single blow. The nerves looked to not be very damaged, and the skin was easy to repair in comparison. Frowning slightly, Draconis closely examined the wound with his Byakugan. He carefully pushed the severed away piece of the puppy’s leg, towards the part of the puppy’s body that it had been cleanly removed from. The cleanness of the cut would actually complicate things. He watched with the Byakugan, the bone, using the eye powers to make his body able to sense the exact position of the bones. The most important thing was to make sure the bones were properly aligned, so that the nerves would still be in the right place, and the foot would not be misaligned. Fortunately, the imperfections in the bones from before the accidents proved themselves to be quite helpful for all of this. Because of some of the imperfections spanning the two sides of the cut that Draconis was trying to heal, he was able to pinpoint where the bone was supposed to connet, reaching out with the medical cchakra to connect firs t the nerves, while he held the leg still to avoid the nerves being broken, and then the actual bone and marrow. This process could not have been fun for anybody so he was kind of glad that the dog had been put to sleep, non lethally, just knocking it out until it would be done with the surgery.

The bone was the easy bit, however. Why? Because the bone was solid. If the muscles had torn instead of the clean cut that there was, then they would be able to connect easier. The muscles, not being connected on both ends, flopped around a bit. At least the dog was knocked out and not moving around. That made it much easier. Draconis grabbed the bits of muscle and put them together, fusing them into one solid piece of muscle instead, so that they would be able to move, one end of the muscle connected all the way to the other. Experimentally, after connecting the muscle fibers and bridging the clean breaks that made connecting so much harder, Draconis pulled on one enf of the first muscle, and was rewarded with the other end solidifying and tensing a little bit. Pleased, he let go, and the muscle returned to its original shape.

At this point, the dog having taken longer than he thought to be fixed, the dog began to wake up, and he had to stop and drug it again quickly before its pitiful wails, or what he assumed would be pitiful wails, could wake up the rest of the animals. That would be bad. It would complicate so many other jobs. So back under the little widdle puppy went. Draconis was able to finish putting back the rest of the muscles after that with relatively little trouble, fortunately.

After that, well, he was mostly done with the dog, so he finished up the other minor wounds, and then put the dog in the recovery area, away from all the other animals being healed up.

He took a deep breath, and put the rest of the equipment in the trays used to hold the utensils needed to be cleaned. Today had been a bloody long day and he was not yet done.

The next little patient stared up at him. This was gonna be an organ transplant. This one was missing a lung, and a replacement had been found, in the body of a newly deceased rodent of the same species, that had no longer to live anyway, beign the same size. Draconis took a deep breath and began cutting. The removal of the first organ was not hard. However, there was a massive mess inside the other rodent, which was being sustained on the ninja equivalent of life support, by another ninja, while Draconis worked. Draconis began cutting open the second little rodent, and found a bloody mess. Grit was everywhere, having entered through the wound.

He ended up spending a long time working on cleaning out the insides, trying to avoid damaging the still breathing rodent, while working as fast as he could. Every once in a while his heart skipped a beat as the animal twitched, usually when he accidentally pressed against an organ. Most of the time, however, he improved and eventually he managed to stop touching the most sensitive bits of the rodent altogether.

After removing the grit from the animal, with the help of his medical chakra, Draconis carefully removed the camaged remains of the first organ, and carefully put in the second one. Gently lowering the second, replacement organ into place, he used his medical chakra to seal the openings around the organ, connecting the tissue and watching for signs of rejection from the body towards the organ, while cleaning up the remains of the first and dead rodent. At first everything seemed to be ok. Then, as he watched, the animal twitched. Uhoh. He rushed to the animal’s side, feeling just the tiniest lack of remorse and empathy. The animal twitched again, and then stood up on all fours, before sprinting out the window.

Oh… my.

Seemed like things were going ok for the little fellow after all.

Looking around for the moment, Draconis was pleased to note that the animal seemed to be just fine, if the distance between its tracks, indicating its speed, were any indication. Pleased, he went back out towards where he had left his supplies from earlier, and tried summoning Infurius again, having finally been able to focus.

Infurius appeared. He looked very different from how Draconis imagined he would have. And the first thing Infurius said was “You have managed to summon me, puny Human, but you have to now earn my respect.” Infurius turned intangible before Draconis was able to do anything, fading off into the forest as Draconis growled in frustration.
